Abstract

This product is a belt fastener for securing belts wrapped around luggage or other items. The belt fastener comprises a belt winding shaft rotatably supported at one end of the fastener body, a belt fixing part consisting of two cylindrical members supported at the other end, and a ratchet plate slidably supported on the fastener body. The belt winding shaft has a gap between two shaft members with a substantially semicircular cross-section, and a ratchet gear and a hexagonal member are attached to both ends in the axial direction. The ratchet gear has two semicircular through holes through which the shaft members are inserted. The end of the belt is inserted into the gap between the shaft members, and the belt is wound up by fitting a wrench onto the hexagonal member and rotating it. Reverse rotation is prevented when the ratchet gear engages with the spring-biased ratchet plate. The belt fixing section consists of two cylindrical members spaced apart. The end of the belt is passed under these members, folded upwards by the inner cylindrical member, then folded downwards by the outer cylindrical shaft member, and finally folded again around the inner cylindrical member from above to below, thereby holding the belt in place and preventing it from coming undone.
