Abstract

The shamisen 1 in the "Overall Plan Reference Drawing of the Shamisen" is stored in an instrument case (not shown) for safety when transported. However, when taking the shamisen in and out of the case, or while transporting or moving it out of the case, some part of the tenjin may come into contact with surrounding objects unintentionally, and the tenjin cover 33 of the design in question functions as a protector to prevent scratches. The "Enlarged View Showing the State of Use" is an example of application to the surface of the top end of the tenjin 2. As materials used, cardboard, tanned leather, and soft or hard plastic are used. As can be seen from the plan view and bottom view, the tenjin cover 33 is a two-piece product, and is attached to the tenjin 2 by utilizing the expansion and contraction of the rubber string 22 that is passed through crosswise. That is, as shown in the "Perspective View of the Tenjin Cover Only Before Wearing," the rubber string 22 is hung on the numerous holes 21 as shown in the "Perspective View of the Tenjin Cover Only Just Before Wearing" in preparation for wearing. The head cover is expanded against the elasticity of the rubber cord 22 to cover the head as shown in the "enlarged view showing the state of use." This head cover can be simply placed on top, and the rubber cord 22 will exert a moderate amount of tension.
