Abstract

This item is an animal puzzle that can represent numerous shapes of animals by combining parts. When stored, each part is combined without gaps and has a shape with a certain thickness in a roughly square shape. This thickness can be appropriately selected without affecting the essence of the puzzle. When in use, each part is selected and combined in the appropriate arrangement with the necessary parts to represent various animal shapes. Usually, it represents the shape of the side of an animal, but by turning all the parts over and using them, it can also represent the shape of the side of the animal in the opposite direction. Furthermore, by using two sets of this item, it can also represent the shape of the front of an animal. The most important element for recognizing the side, the opposite side, and the front is provided by the part with the printed eyeball, which is included only once in this item. The black eyes of the eyeball part are eccentric for representing the horizontal direction on the front side and are not eccentric for representing the front-facing direction on the back side. By expressing real or imaginary animals through the arrangement of the parts of this item, it becomes a tool for artistic expression, and devising the combination and arrangement of the necessary parts for imagining various animals plays an important role as an educational toy for children.
