Abstract

This article is a claw part for a female coupling for fire protection, which is used by being incorporated into the connection port of a female coupling for fire protection. This article is composed of a central protruding claw made of a substantially triangular prism with an arcuate cross-section, side arms that curve and extend arcuately from the left and right column ends of the protruding claw respectively, and leaf springs 1 and 2 that are pinned and overlapped at the central part of the back surface of the protruding claw and extend left and right. And this article constitutes a curved cylinder composed of a partial arcuate curved axis by the central protruding claw and its left and right side arms. By incorporating this curved cylinder along the annular space around the joint port of the female coupling, the central protruding claw protrudes in the direction of the center of the joint port, resulting in a claw protruding state. In this claw protruding state, the upper surface including the upper surface step of this article contacts the slide base frame and is accommodated in the annular space of the joint port. The leaf springs 1 and 2 that extend left and right contact the outer periphery of the annular inner space in an elastically deformed state, so that the protruding claw is elastically biased in the central direction (protruding direction). When the male coupling, which is the connection target of the joint, is inserted into the joint port, this elastically protruding claw fits and locks into the groove around the joint of the male coupling, thereby coupling the female coupling and the male coupling. The protruding claw in the coupling connection state, which elastically protrudes in the central direction and fits and locks with the male coupling, is pushed by the inclined claw surface of the protruding part or the inclined end surface of the side arm, so that an external force in the outer peripheral direction of the joint port is applied against the elastic biasing direction of the leaf springs 1 and 2, thereby causing the protruding claw to retreat in the outer peripheral direction of the joint port to a retracted state. When all the locking claws are in the retracted state, the coupling connection is released. For example, when a female coupling for fire protection is provided at the lower part of a fire protection standpipe and this article is incorporated into this female coupling, the protruding claw of this article that fits and locks with the male coupling of the underground fire pipe is released from the coupling connection and the joints are separated by operating the lifting lever at the upper part of the standpipe. Specifically, in conjunction with the lifting operation of the lifting lever, the lifting block in the female coupling is lifted upward through the lifting bolt connected to the lifting lever. Along with this, the side arm that is end-face locked with the lifting block is pressed in the outer peripheral direction, and thus this article in the joint port slides and moves in the outer peripheral direction within the annular space. As a result, the protruding claws that were in the protruding state are retracted, and the coupling connection state with the fire protection pipe in the ground is released. The curved columnar body composed of the protruding claws and the left and right side arms is integrally continuous with the upper surface including the upper surface step. When this article slides in the circumferential direction within the annular space, the upper surface moves while remaining in contact with the base frame surface of the slide base frame, so that the protruding claws can be smoothly shifted to the protruding state or the retracted state within the joint opening. That is, this article elastically biases the claw component to the position in the protruding state only by the spring reaction force of the leaf springs 1 and 2. Even when the claw component is temporarily retracted by an operating external force, the slide contact surface including the upper surface of the curved columnar body has an upper surface step, so that smooth and accurate slide movement can be achieved while preventing the parts from getting caught. The claw component of this female coupling for fire protection is used, for example, by being incorporated into the inside of the joint opening at the lower part of the fire protection standpipe connected to the underground fire hydrant. When connecting the fire protection standpipe to the underground fire hydrant, the joint opening of the lower coupling is placed over the connection opening of the underground fire hydrant and pushed in. When removing, the lifting lever is lifted to release the coupling connection and removed.
