Abstract

This device is equipped with an internal memory device and can measure tire tread depth using a measuring pin that moves up and down in conjunction with a lever on the backside. As shown in the reference rear view showing the stored state, the lever is pushed up to store the measuring pin in the main body. As shown in the reference rear view showing the used state, the tread depth is measured by pushing down the lever to place the bottom of the measuring pin against the bottom of the tire tread, and then pushing the device down until the bottom of the main body contacts the tire. The measurement value is confirmed by pressing the measurement button and displayed on the LCD screen. The measurement buttons are arranged corresponding to the tire positions on the vehicle, and data for each tire can be stored in the memory device by pressing the measurement button corresponding to the tire position where the tread depth was measured. A vehicle design depicting a planar view of the vehicle is provided to partially encompass the LCD screen, and each measurement button is positioned corresponding to the tire on the vehicle design. This vehicle design includes the headlights, windshield, rear window, etc., making it easy to intuitively recognize the correspondence between the measurement buttons and the tire positions on the vehicle. Pressing the operation button allows data to be reset or corrected if the zero value is incorrect.
