Abstract

This product is a cutting tool made of cemented carbide with nicks (cut grooves) used for machining steel materials such as stainless steel and non-ferrous metals such as copper. This cutting tool is approximately cylindrical and rotates around a rotation axis using a drive mechanism. The nicks are helical grooves formed on the flank of the peripheral cutting edge to finely break up chips generated during machining of the workpiece, and gradually deepen in the twisting direction from the flank of the peripheral cutting edge. As shown in the [Reference Enlarged Oblique View Showing the Names of Each Part] and [Reference Schematic Diagram], when the cutting tool has an outer diameter of 6φ, the height from the flank of the peripheral cutting edge to the deepest part of the nick is 0.22 mm, the nick width is approximately 0.17 mm, and the nick pitch is approximately 0.36 mm. This cutting tool not only produces finer chips than conventional cutting tools with the same outer diameter but different nick shapes and structures, but also exhibits a different aesthetic appearance.
