Abstract
The article relating to the present design is a synthetic resin rivet member for a snap fastener, having a head and a crimping projection located in the center of its back surface. The crimping projection is inserted through the fabric of the garment from the front side and crimped into a through-hole in the fitting member located on the back side of the fabric, thereby attaching the fitting member to the fabric. Specifically, as shown in Reference Figure 1, with the fabric positioned between the article held by the receiver and the fitting member held by the driving tool, when the driving tool moves towards (descends) the receiver, the guide punch equipped on the driving tool presses the fitting member against the fabric, the crimping projection of the article pierces the fabric and even penetrates the through-hole in the fitting member, and by striking the tip of the projection with the crimping punch to expand and deform its diameter, the article and the fitting member are crimped together with the fabric in between. The surface of the head of this item has a three-dimensional pattern that mimics intersecting sewing threads, so when attached to clothing fabric, it will have a shape that resembles a button sewn onto the clothing. Incidentally, the surface of the head of this item faces downwards and is hidden from view when the item is set in the receiving device, but as shown in Reference Figure 2, the protruding part on the back of the head is positioned to make it easy to determine the orientation of the three-dimensional pattern on the surface, so for example, in clothing to which multiple snap fasteners are attached in a row, it is easy to align the orientation of the three-dimensional sewing thread pattern.
