Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a storage case for soft contact lenses, and more particularly to a storage case which improves operability when storing and removing soft contact lenses and can advantageously avoid problems that may occur during the storage and removal. [Background technology]

[0002] Conventionally, contact lenses (hereinafter referred to as CLs) are stored immersed in a liquid contained in a container, except when they are being worn. In the container, the CLs are cleaned, disinfected, and treated with a dedicated liquid agent to improve the surface wettability, thereby maintaining and recovering their lens function until the next time they are worn.

[0003] Incidentally, when storing CLs in such a storage container, a holder with a lens storage chamber is used to facilitate removal of the CLs from the storage container and to hold the CLs stably and without damage by restricting the movement of the CLs in the container during storage. The CLs are stored in the lens storage chamber and immersed in the liquid in the container. For soft contact lenses (hereinafter referred to as SCLs), which have particularly low rigidity and are easily deformed, various studies have been conducted on holders that hold them, and one form of the lens storage chamber is disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 3,770,113, Utility Model Registration No. 3,193,885, JP 2018-68871, etc.

[0004] In other words, all of the holders proposed in those specifications and publications have a lens base having a spherical or dome-shaped surface on which the SCL is placed, and a lid member that is superimposed to cover it; by superimposing the lens base and the lid member, a specified gap is formed between them, and a lens storage chamber is formed having a spherical shape or an arcuate cross-sectional shape corresponding to the shape of the lens, and the desired SCL is stored therein and immersed in the liquid contained in a container.

[0005] However, in conventional lens holders as described above, when opening and closing the lens storage chamber to store an SCL therein or remove it from there, it is necessary to move the lid member that covers the lens base from above the lens base, for example by rotating it, which poses the problem that the wearer is required to perform cumbersome and time-consuming tasks when storing or removing the SCL from the lens holder. In addition, when storing an SCL that has been removed from the eye, there is an inherent risk that the SCL will be pinched between the lid member and the lens base when they are placed together, causing damage or breakage to the SCL. Furthermore, there is an inherent problem that the installation of the lid member makes the lens holder structurally complicated.

[0006] Moreover, the SCL is stored in a lens storage chamber formed between the lens base and the lid member covering it, and is immersed in the liquid in a container that contains the lens holder. After being removed from the container, the lid member is opened, for example by rotating it, to open the lens storage chamber, and the SCL is removed and worn by the wearer's eye. Therefore, when the lid member is opened and closed, there is an inherent problem that the adhering liquid will splash, causing discomfort to the wearer. In addition, when the lens base covered by the lid member is pulled up from a state where it is immersed in the liquid contained in the container, the lens base is pulled up with liquid remaining in the lid member, which creates an inherent problem of dripping, with liquid falling from the lens base and the lid member. [0007] [Patent Document 1] U.S. Pat. No. 3,770,113 [Patent Document 2] Utility Model Registration No. 3193885 [Patent Document 3] JP 2018-68871 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0008] The present invention has been made against the background of the circumstances described above, and its problem to be solved is to provide a storage case for an SCL that does not require the attachment of a cover member to the lens base, thereby advantageously improving the ease of storing and removing the SCL, and also to provide a storage case for an SCL that effectively suppresses or avoids splashing or dripping of liquid when the lens holder is pulled up from the liquid contained in the storage case, the SCL is removed, and it is then worn on the eyes, thereby allowing the SCL to be worn safely. [Means for solving the problem]

[0009] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention can be preferably implemented in various aspects as listed below, and each aspect described below can be adopted in any combination. It should be understood that the aspects and technical features of the present invention are not limited to those described below, but can be recognized based on the inventive idea disclosed in the description of the entire specification and drawings.

[0010] Therefore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a storage case having a container body having a bottomed cylindrical shape in which a predetermined liquid is stored, a cap member that is detachably attached to an upper opening of the container body and capable of forming an airtight space inside the container body, and a lens holder that is attached to the inside of the cap member and holds the SCL to be stored, wherein the lens holder comprises a holder base that is held in a fixed position inside the cap member, a plate-like holder body of a predetermined width that is connected to the holder base and extends downward, and a lens holder that is integrally provided at an intermediate position in the hanging direction of the holder body in a form that protrudes from the plate surface, and the inside of the container body is provided with a lens holder that is attached to the inside of the container body in a form that protrudes from the plate surface. The gist of the present invention is a storage case for SCLs, characterized in that it has a dome-shaped lens base on which the SCL is placed, forming a gap between the lens base and the inner peripheral surface of the container body in which the SCL can be accommodated, and a lens storage wall portion which is composed of upper and lower wall portions provided respectively on portions of the holder body located above and below the lens base, with both side portions being open, and which forms a storage space for the SCL between the lens base and the upper and lower wall portions and the inner peripheral surface of the container body, and the upper and lower wall portions of the lens storage wall portion are erected at a height which prevents the SCL in the storage space from slipping out of the gap between them and the inner peripheral surface of the container body.

[0011] According to one desirable aspect of the storage case for SCLs according to the present invention, the gap between the upper and lower wall portions of the lens housing wall and the inner surface of the container body is configured to be less than 2 mm.

[0012] Furthermore, according to another desirable aspect of the storage case for an SCL according to the present invention, a notch and / or a hole is provided in each of the upper and lower wall portions of the lens storage wall, and the liquid or gas within the storage space is configured to be discharged to the outside through the notch and / or hole.

[0013] In one preferred embodiment of the storage case for SCL according to the present invention, the container body has a bottomed cylindrical shape with an inner circumferential surface having a circular cross section, and the upper wall portion and the lower wall portion constituting the lens storage wall portion are each provided in a form that has an arc shape in a plan view, which is advantageously adopted.

[0014] In addition, according to another preferred embodiment of the SCL storage case of the present invention, the notch and / or hole is provided in the center of the arc shape of the upper wall portion and the lower wall portion, respectively.

[0015] Furthermore, according to another desirable aspect of the storage case for an SCL according to the present invention, the upper and lower wall portions of the lens storage wall are each formed so that their height gradually decreases from the central portion of their arc-shaped portions toward both ends.

[0016] In addition, in the storage case for SCL according to the present invention, advantageously, the container body has a bottomed angular cylindrical shape having an inner circumferential surface with a rectangular cross section, and the upper wall portion and the lower wall portion which constitute the lens storage wall portion are each composed of a horizontal wall portion extending horizontally and side wall portions extending a predetermined length in the vertical direction from both ends of the horizontal wall portion.

[0017] According to one advantageous aspect of the present invention, the four corners of the rectangular inner peripheral surface of the container body are each configured as a curved portion having an outwardly convex shape.

[0018] Furthermore, in the present invention, a configuration is advantageously adopted in which two of the lens pedestal portions are arranged in series so as to be positioned above and below the holder main body, and two SCLs for the left eye and the right eye are placed on the two lens pedestal portions, respectively.

[0019] Furthermore, in the present invention, advantageously, two of the holder bodies are arranged in opposing positions on the holder base so as to be parallel to each other, and the lens base portion and the lens storage wall portion are each provided so as to protrude from the outer surfaces opposite the opposing direction of the two holder bodies, so that two SCLs for the left eye and the right eye can be stored and held, respectively.

[0020] Furthermore, according to one desirable aspect of the present invention, a spacing protrusion is arranged on the inner bottom surface of the container body, and the spacing protrusion is fitted into the gap between the lower ends of the two parallel holder bodies to define the gap between the two holder bodies.

[0021] According to another desirable aspect of the present invention, the spacing protrusion is composed of a base portion against which the lower ends of the two holder bodies abut, and a conical portion provided on the base portion and inserted and positioned between the lower ends of the two holder bodies.

[0022] According to another desirable aspect of the storage case for SCLs according to the present invention, the holder base and the two holder bodies are formed as a single unit, and the connection between the holder base and the two holder bodies is a thin-walled hinge portion, so that the two holder bodies can be positioned parallel to and facing each other by rotating at the hinge portion.

[0023] Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the storage case for SCLs according to the present invention, a connecting means is provided for connecting the two holder bodies to each other and maintaining the space between them.

[0024] In addition, according to another different desirable aspect of the storage case for SCLs according to the present invention, the connecting means is composed of a tubular portion provided at one of the lower ends of the two holder bodies and a pin portion provided at the other of the lower ends, and is configured so that the distance between the two holder bodies can be maintained by inserting the pin portion into the tube of the tubular portion. Effect of the Invention

[0025] In this way, in the storage case for SCLs according to the present invention, the dome-shaped lens seat on which the SCL is placed is provided in the middle of the plate-shaped holder body constituting the lens holder, and is not covered with a lid member as in conventional lens holders. Instead, a storage space for the SCL is formed between the lens seat, the upper and lower wall portions provided on the holder body portions located above and below the lens seat, and the inner circumferential surface of the container body. Therefore, the placement of the SCL on the lens seat Furthermore, when removing the SCL from the storage case, the conventional operation of opening and closing the lid member is completely unnecessary. This extremely simplifies the operation (work) of storing the SCL removed from the wearer's eye into the storage case, or removing the SCL from the storage case and putting it on the wearer's eye, significantly improving operability. It also completely eliminates the risk of the SCL getting pinched between the lid member and the lens base or holder body, causing damage or breakage.

[0026] Moreover, in the SCL storage case according to the present invention, a lid member that covers the dome-shaped lens base to form a storage space for the SCL, as in the past, is not used, so there is no need to open and close the lid member when immersing the lens base in the liquid contained in the container body to store the SCL, or when pulling it up from the liquid to remove the SCL. As a result, there is absolutely no risk of any adhering liquid scattering, and the problem of liquid dripping from the lens base is also eliminated, because there is no lid member and the structure around the lens base is simple. In addition, because there is less space for liquid to accumulate, adhering and residual liquid can be reduced as much as possible. Therefore, the SCL can be stored in and removed from the storage case safely and with peace of mind. In particular, this feature can be further advantageously exhibited by providing the upper wall portion and the lower wall portion arranged around the lens base with predetermined notches or holes, respectively, so that gas such as air and the contained liquid can be more effectively removed from the storage space of the SCL through the notches and holes. FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0028] In order to clarify the configuration of the present invention more specifically, a representative embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

[0029] First, Fig. 1 shows an example of an SCL storage case according to the present invention, in a vertical cross-sectional view. In this case, the SCL storage case 10 includes a cylindrical container body 12 with a bottom and a circular inner circumferential surface, in which a predetermined liquid is to be stored, a cap member 14 that is detachably attached to the upper opening of the container body 12 to form an airtight space inside the container body 12, and a lens holder 16 that is attached to the inside of the cap member 14 and holds the SCL 24 to be stored. The container body 12, the cap member 14, and the lens holder 16 are all formed by a known molding operation, such as injection molding, using synthetic resins that are well known as materials for SCL storage cases, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and polycarbonate.

[0030] 1 and 2, the container body 12 is composed of a cylindrical tube wall portion 12a of a predetermined thickness and a bottom portion 12b closing the lower end thereof, and an outer periphery of the upper end opening of the tube wall portion 12a is provided with an outer thread portion 12c onto which a cap member 14 is screwed. Note that here, the center portion of the bottom portion 12b of the container body 12 protrudes into the container body 12 to provide a circular abutment base portion 18, and further, a cone-shaped portion 20 protruding in a cone shape from the center of the abutment base portion 18 into the tube wall portion 12a is integrally formed.

[0031] On the other hand, the cap member 14 is used in a form in which the lens holder 16 is fixedly attached, and in a form in which the lens holder 16 is inserted into the cylinder of the container body 12, the cap member 14 is configured to be screwed onto the upper outer periphery of the cylinder wall portion 12a, and is detachably attached to the container body 12. That is, the cap member 14 has an outer periphery cylinder portion 14b that hangs down a predetermined height from the outer periphery of the disk-shaped top plate portion 14a, and an inner screw portion 14c provided on the inner periphery of the outer periphery cylinder portion 14b is screwed onto an outer screw portion 12c provided on the outer periphery of the upper opening of the container body 12, thereby closing the upper opening of the container body 12 liquid-tightly. Also, a fitting cylinder portion 22 is integrally provided at the center of the inner surface (lower surface) of the top plate portion 14a of the cap 14 at approximately the same height as the outer periphery cylinder portion 14b. The holder base of the lens holder 16, which will be described later, is fitted and fixed into the fitting cylindrical portion 22 provided on the cap 14, so that the lens holder 16 is attached in a hanging-down configuration inside the cap 14, as shown in the figure.

[0032] Furthermore, the lens holder 16 which, together with the container body 12 and cap 14 described above, constitutes the SCL storage case 10 and holds the SCLs 24 to be stored, as shown in Figures 1, 3 and 4(a) and (b), has a holder base 26 which is held in a fixed position inside the cap 14, a pair of plate-shaped holder bodies 28, 28 which are connected to this holder base 26 and hang down facing each other with a specified gap between them, dome-shaped lens pedestals 30, 30 which are integrally formed with the holder bodies 28, 28 and on which the SCLs 24 for the right eye and the SCLs 24 for the left eye are respectively placed, and a lens storage wall portion 32 which is composed of upper wall portions 32a and lower wall portions 32b which are respectively provided on portions of the holder body 28 located above and below such lens pedestal portions 30. As is apparent from FIG. 4(a), in the portion located below the lower wall portion 32b of each holder body 28, the symbol R or L is formed in embossed form to clarify whether the SCL 24 to be placed on the corresponding lens base portion 30 is for the right eye (R) or the left eye (L).

[0033] 1 to 4, the lens holder 16 has a holder base 26 which is forcibly fitted into a fitting cylinder 22 provided on the inner surface of the top plate 14a of the cap 14 and held in a fixed position, and plate-like holder bodies 28, 28 of a predetermined width are provided on the holder base 26, which extend downward parallel to each other at a predetermined distance in the horizontal direction from the lower end of the holder base 26. Dome-shaped or spherical lens pedestals 30, 30 on which the SCL 24 is placed are integrally provided at intermediate positions in the hanging direction of the two holder bodies 28, 28, protruding in opposite directions (outward) from the respective plate surfaces, so that a gap capable of accommodating the SCL 24 is formed between the holder bodies 28, 28 and the circular inner peripheral surface of the cylinder wall 12a of the container body 12, as shown in FIGS. Each of the dome-shaped lens base portions 30, 30 has a surface with a radius of curvature smaller than the base curve (rear curve) of the SCL24 to be placed on it, and is configured to have a smooth, curved convex surface without any unevenness and without any liquid passage holes or slits, etc., thereby enabling a greater surface tension or adhesive force to be generated on the SCL24 to be placed on it.

[0034] 3 and 4, upper wall portions 32a and lower wall portions 32b, which are arc-shaped in plan view, are provided at the portions of the holder body 28, 28 located above and below the dome-shaped lens pedestal portions 30, 30, at a height higher than the lens pedestal portion 30, and the upper wall portions 32a and lower wall portions 32b constitute the lens housing wall portion 32. As is clear from FIG. 3, the upper wall portions 32a and lower wall portions 32b constituting the lens housing wall portion 32 are formed so that their heights gradually decrease from the central portion of the arc shape toward both ends, reaching both side portions of the holder body 28, thereby forming the lens housing wall portion 32 with both side portions open. That is, the upper wall portion 32a and the lower wall portion 32b are provided in a form that presents an arc shape both when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the plate-like holder main body 28 on which they are provided and when viewed in a direction parallel to said plate surface. Such lens housing wall portion 32 (upper wall portion 32a+lower wall portion 32b) forms a space in which the SCL 24 is housed between the lens pedestal portion 30 and the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container main body 12.

[0035] Therefore, in order to prevent the SCL 24 present in such a lens housing space from slipping out, the gap between the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall 12a of the container body 12 and the upper end of the lens housing wall 32 or both sides of the holder body 28 must be narrow as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, and is generally configured as a gap less than 2 mm, preferably 1.5 mm or less, and more preferably about 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm. Also, even the length of both sides released outwardly of the lens housing wall 32, in other words, the distance between the corresponding ends of the upper wall 32a and the lower wall 32b, is usually set to be shorter than the diameter of the SCL 24 in order to prevent the SCL 24 from slipping out to the side.

[0036] Furthermore, in the upper wall portion 32a and the lower wall portion 32b constituting the lens housing wall portion 32, as is clear from Figures 1, 3, 4, etc., a U-shaped notch 34 is provided in the center of each arc shape, with a size that prevents SCL 24 from slipping out, in other words, with a width smaller than the diameter of SCL 24. Because such notches 34 are present in the upper wall portion 32a and the lower wall portion 32b located above and below the lens housing wall portion 32, when the lens holder 16 is immersed in the liquid contained in the container body 12 or pulled out of it, gas (air) and the contained liquid can be discharged from the storage space of the SCL 24 to the outside through these notches 34. This makes it possible to effectively avoid problems caused by gas or liquid being trapped in the lens housing space formed between the lens base portion 30, the lens housing wall portion 32, and the inner surface (inner wall surface) of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12.

[0037] The lens holder 16 thus constructed is fixedly assembled to the cap 14 and configured as shown in Figures 3 and 4. After that, the lens holder 16, with the SCL 24 for the right eye and the SCL 24 for the left eye respectively placed and held on the lens base portions 30, 30 on either side, is immersed in the liquid contained in the container body 12. After that, the inner thread portion 14c of the cap 14 is screwed into the outer thread portion 12c of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12, and the SCLs 24 are stored in a liquid-tight state. At this time, as shown in FIG. 1, the two holder bodies 28, 28 of the lens holder 16 have their lower ends abutted against the upper surface of the abutment base portion 18 that is formed to protrude from the bottom 12b of the container body 12, thereby supporting the lower ends of the holder bodies 28, 28, and the conical portion 20 is fitted between the lower ends of the holder bodies 28, 28, thereby maintaining the distance between the lower ends of the holder bodies 28, 28 constant and holding them parallel to each other, so that the lens storage space formed by each lens base portion 30, the lens storage wall portion 32, and the inner surface of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12 can be regulated to a predetermined size.

[0038] Incidentally, the SCL storage case according to the present invention can be modified in various ways in addition to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4 discussed above, and Figures 5 to 7 show one modified example of an easy-to-manufacture lens holder 16 that holds two SCLs 24, 24, one for the left eye and one for the right eye.

[0039] That is, Fig. 5 shows the lens holder 16 in an expanded form, and since there are almost no undercuts in such an expanded form, it can be easily formed as an integrally molded resin product by adopting a known injection molding operation, which can advantageously contribute to reducing manufacturing costs. In this form, the lens holder 16 is integrally formed in a form in which the two holder bodies 28, 28 are positioned on both sides of the holder base 26. In addition, the connection between the holder base 26 and the holder body 28 is a thin hinge portion 36 as shown in Fig. 5(b), and the two holder bodies 28, 28 can be positioned parallel to each other and opposed to each other by bending the hinge portion 36. An elliptical cylindrical portion 38 is provided on the lower end side of one of the opposing surfaces of the two holder bodies 28, 28, while an elliptical pin portion 40 is provided at a predetermined height on the lower end side of the other opposing surface, and the pin portion 40 is inserted into the elliptical cylinder of the cylindrical portion 38, so that the distance between the two holder bodies 28, 28 can be maintained parallel to each other. Also, as shown in Fig. 5(a), the letters L (for left eye) and R (for right eye) are formed in relief on the lower end sides of the two holder bodies 28, 28, and the type of SCL 24 to be placed on the lens seat portion 30 provided on the holder body 28 with each letter is specified, so that the wearer does not mistake the target eye when wearing the SCL 24.

[0040] The lens holder 16 shown in an unfolded state in Figure 5 is assembled by bending and rotating the holder bodies 28, 28, each connected to two corresponding sides of the rectangular plate portion 26a of the holder base 26, at the hinge portions 36, 36 formed at each connecting portion, so that they are positioned opposite each other and parallel to each other, and by inserting the oval pin portion 40 provided on one holder body 28 into the oval tube of the tubular portion 38 provided on the other holder body 28 (see Figure 7), thereby fixing and holding the two holder bodies 28, 28 parallel to each other. In this way, the spacing between the two holder bodies 28, 28 is fixed by fitting the pin portion 40 into the cylindrical portion 38, and therefore, when the lens holder 16 is inserted into or pulled out of the container body 12, the holder body 28 abuts against the inner surface or opening of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12, changing the distance between the lens base portion 30 and the inner wall surface of the cylindrical wall portion 12a. This advantageously avoids the problem of the SCL 24 falling off.

[0041] In addition, in such a lens holder 16, the pin portion 26b projecting upward from the holder base portion 26 is fitted and fixed in the fitting cylinder portion 22 of the cap 14, and two SCLs 24, 24 for the left and right eyes are placed and held on the two lens pedestals 30, 30, respectively, and then immersed in a predetermined liquid 42 contained in the container body 12 as shown in Fig. 8, and the cap 14 is attached by screwing to the opening of the container body 12, so that the SCLs 24 for the left and right eyes removed from the wearer are subjected to a desired disinfection treatment or cleaning treatment while being stored and held in the SCL storage case 10. The liquid 42 contained in the container body 12 is a conventional liquid that performs cleaning, disinfection, improves surface wettability, etc., on the immersed SCLs 24.

[0042] In this manner, in the SCL storage case 10 configured as described above, no lid member is provided to cover the lens base portion 30 on which the SCL 24 is placed in the lens holder 16. The SCL 24 is stored and held within the lens storage space defined by the lens base portion 30, the lens storage wall portion 32 (upper wall portion 32a + lower wall portion 32b), and the inner wall surface of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12. Therefore, there is no need to open or close the lid member when placing the SCL 24 on the lens base portion 30 of the lens holder 16 or removing the SCL 24 from there. This not only effectively improves the operability of storing and removing the SCL 24 from the lens holder 16, but also completely eliminates the problem of the SCL 24 getting pinched when the lid member is opened or closed, completely eliminating the risk of the SCL 24 being damaged or broken.

[0043] Moreover, since there is no lid member for the lens holder 16, there is no risk of liquid 42 adhering to the lens holder 16 scattering when the lid member is opened or closed. In addition, when the lens holder 16 is pulled out of the contained liquid 42 in the container body 12, there is no problem of liquid remaining on the lid member dripping. In particular, since the upper wall portion 32a and the lower wall portion 32b constituting the lens housing wall portion 32 have a notch 34 formed in the central portion of their arc-shaped portions, the liquid 42 remaining on the lens housing wall portion 32 can be reduced as much as possible. As a result, when the lens holder 16 is pulled out from within the container body 12 and removed to the outside, dripping from the lens holder 16 can be suppressed as much as possible, and the handling and operability of the SCL24 can be advantageously improved. In addition, the notches 34 provided in the upper wall portion 32a and the lower wall portion 32b also have the effect of effectively discharging gas such as air within the lens storage space to the outside, even when the lens holder 16 is immersed in the storage liquid 42 in the container body 12, thereby making it possible to prevent residual gas from adversely affecting the storage state of the SCL 24.

[0044] Furthermore, since there is no need to provide a lid member for the lens holder 16, there is no need to provide a rotating mechanism for opening and closing such a lid member, or a fitting portion for the lid member, which allows the structure of the lens holder 16 itself to be simplified, making it possible to create a lens holder with a simple structure. In addition, since the inner wall surface (inner circumferential surface) of the tubular wall portion 12a of the container body 12 is cylindrical, there is also the advantage that there is no need to consider the directionality (rotational position) of the lens holder 16 when screwing on the cap 14.

[0045] Furthermore, unlike the structure in which the lens base portions 30 are arranged in the depth direction of the cylindrical wall portion 12a of the container body 12 to hold two SCLs 24, one for the right eye and one for the left eye, as in the illustrated embodiment, a structure in which two lens base portions 30, 30 are arranged opposite each other in a direction perpendicular to the depth direction is adopted. This not only makes it easier to identify the storage locations of the SCLs 24 for the left eye and the right eye, but also advantageously avoids the problem of one of the SCLs 24 not being immersed due to an insufficient amount of liquid 42 filled in the container body 12.

[0046] Incidentally, in the SCL storage case 10 according to the embodiment described above, the container body 12 has a cylindrical shape with a bottom and an inner circumferential surface with a circular cross section. However, in the present invention, it is also possible to use a container body having a rectangular tubular shape with a bottom and an inner circumferential surface with a rectangular cross section, as in the embodiment shown in Figure 9 onwards.

[0047] Specifically, in another embodiment of the present invention shown in Figs. 9 to 11, an SCL storage case 50 has a container body 52 having a rectangular bottomed angular tube shape and a cap member 54 screwed to the upper part of the container body 52. In order to screw the cap member 54, the upper part of the container body 52 is shaped to provide a circular outer periphery. As is clear from the cross-sectional views shown in Figs. 10(a) and (b), the inner peripheral surface of the container body 52 has a rectangular cross-sectional shape, and a lens holder 56 is accommodated inside the rectangular cross-sectional shape. In the following description of the configuration of the SCL storage case according to the embodiment, the same reference numerals are used to designate parts having the same structure as the SCL storage case 10 according to the previous embodiment, and detailed description of the structure is omitted.

[0048] In the above-mentioned SCL storage case 50, the lens holder 56 is attached to the cap member 54 by fitting the holder base 26 of the lens holder 56 into the fitting cylindrical portion 22 provided on the inner surface of the cap member 54. As described in detail in JP 2018-68871 A, the lens holder 56 is held in a fixed position relative to the cap member 54 by fitting an appropriate number of ring-shaped recesses provided on the inner surface of the fitting cylindrical portion 22 into an appropriate number of ring-shaped protrusions provided on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion of the holder base 26, and the holder base 26 is held so as to be freely rotatable around the axis of the fitting cylindrical portion 22.

[0049] 5 and 6, the lens holder 56 is formed as an integrally molded product having the holder base 26 and the two holder bodies 28, 28 bent so as to hang down in parallel from both sides of the holder base 26, and as is clear from Fig. 10(a), the two holder bodies 28, 28 are fixed at their upper and lower parts by fitting a cylindrical part 38 provided on one of them with a pin part 40 provided on the other, so that the mutual distance is constant. By providing such a fitting structure of the cylindrical part 38 and the pin part 40 at the upper and lower parts of the two holder bodies 28, 28, the relative positions of the two holder bodies 28, 28 can be fixed more effectively.

[0050] Furthermore, an upper wall portion 58a and a lower wall portion 58b are integrally provided with the holder main body 28 so as to be positioned above and below the dome-shaped lens pedestal portion 30 provided on each of the two holder main bodies 28, 28, and the upper wall portion 58a and the lower wall portion 58b form a lens housing wall portion 58. A lens housing space for housing the SCL 24 is formed between the upper and lower wall portions 58a, 58b, the inner peripheral surface of the container main body 52, and the lens pedestal portion 30. The upper wall portion 58a and the lower wall portion 58b constituting the lens housing wall portion 58 are erected at a height such that the SCL in the housing space does not slip out from the gap between the tops of the upper and lower wall portions 58a and 58b and the corresponding inner peripheral surface of the container main body 52.

[0051] 11, the upper wall 58a and the lower wall 58b are each composed of horizontal wall portions 58aa, 58ba of a predetermined height extending horizontally, and side wall portions 58ab, 58ab; 58bb, 58bb of a lower height than the horizontal wall portions 58aa, 58ba, which extend a predetermined length from both sides of the horizontal wall portions 58aa, 58ba in the vertical direction, respectively, and an open portion with no wall portion is formed between the side wall portion 58ab of the upper wall portion 58a and the side wall portion 58bb of the lower wall portion 58b. The central portions of the horizontal wall portions 58aa, 58ba of the upper wall portion 58a and the lower wall portion 58b are cut out in a large rectangular shape to form a notch portion 60.

[0052] 11 is housed in the interior of the container body 52 having a rectangular cross section, gaps through which the SCL 24 cannot pass are formed between the upper wall 58a and the lower wall 58b and the corresponding rectangular inner peripheral surface of the container body 52, as shown in FIG 10(b). In such a configuration, a space capable of housing the SCL 24 is formed between the lens pedestal 30, the upper and lower walls 58a, 58b, and the inner peripheral surface of the container body 52. Therefore, the SCL 24 housed in such a space is effectively housed and held there and will not slip out to the outside, eliminating the need to provide a cover member for covering the lens pedestal as in the prior art. This effectively simplifies the structure of the lens holder 56 and facilitates the operation of housing and removing the SCL 24.

[0053] 12 to 14 show another example of the SCL storage case according to the present invention. In the example, the SCL storage case 70 has a container body 72, a cap member 74, and a lens holder 76, and the container body 72 and the cap member 74 have the same structure as the SCL storage case 50 according to the previous embodiment. Here, the container body 72 is configured to have an oval support part 72a integrally formed at its lower end and having an outer shape larger than the cross-sectional shape of the center part in the height direction, and to have a tall rectangular tube shape with an inner circumferential surface having a horizontally elongated rectangular cross-sectional shape.

[0054] 13(a) and 14, the lens holder 76 has two lens pedestal portions 30a, 30b arranged in series at a predetermined distance apart in the longitudinal direction (vertical direction) of the lens holder 76. An upper wall portion 78a is provided above the upper lens pedestal portion 30a of the two lens pedestal portions 30a, 30b arranged in series, and a lower wall portion 78b is provided below the lower lens pedestal portion 30b. An intermediate wall portion 78c is provided integrally with the lens holder 76 between the two lens pedestal portions 30a, 30b. The upper wall portion 78a and the intermediate wall portion 78c form the lens housing wall portion 78 for the upper lens pedestal portion 30a, while the intermediate wall portion 78c and the lower wall portion 78b form the lens housing wall portion 78 for the lower lens pedestal portion 30b. In short, here, the middle wall portion 78c is configured to function both as the lower wall portion of the upper lens pedestal portion 30a and the upper wall portion of the lower lens pedestal portion 30b.

[0055] As is clear from FIG. 14, the upper wall portion 78a, the lower wall portion 78b and the intermediate wall portion 78c all have horizontal wall portions 78aa, 78ba, 78ca of a constant height extending horizontally, and in the horizontal wall portions 78aa and 78ba, side wall portions 78ab, 78bb of lower height in opposing directions in the vertical direction are integrally formed over a predetermined length, while in the intermediate wall portion 78c, side wall portions 78cb, 78cb of lower height than the horizontal wall portion 78ca are each integrally formed in the vertical direction extending from both sides thereof in the vertical direction.

[0056] In addition, notches 80 are provided in the upper wall portion 78a, the lower wall portion 78b and the intermediate wall portion 78c so as to be located in the center of each horizontal wall portion 78aa, 78ba, 78ca, and through holes 82 are formed in an L-shape penetrating each horizontal wall portion 78aa, 78ba, 78ca and the holder body 28 adjacent to both side wall portions 78ab, 78ab; 78bb, 78bb; 78cb, 78cb.

[0057] Therefore, in the cap member 74 to which the lens holder 76 is attached as shown in FIG. 14, when the lens holder 76 is inserted into the rectangular interior of the container body 72, while the cap member 74 is rotated to screw onto the upper part of the container body 72, as shown in FIG. 13(a) and (b), a gap from which the SCL 24 cannot escape is formed between the inner surface of the container body 72 and the upper wall portion 78a, the lower wall portion 78b, and the intermediate wall portion 78c, and a lens storage space for the SCL 24 is formed in series in the longitudinal direction of the holder body 28, in other words, in the height direction of the container body 72, between the inner surface of the container body 72 and the upper wall portion 78a, the intermediate wall portion 78c or the intermediate wall portion 78c, the lower wall portion 78b, and the lens base portion 30a or 30b.

[0058] As described above, when forming the lens storage space for SCL 24, there is no need to use a cover member for lens holder 76 that covers lens base portions 30a / 30b as in the conventional method, so that SCLs 24, 24 for the left eye and right eye can be inserted into or removed from container body 72 in a form in which they are simply placed on the respective lens base portions 30a, 30b for the two lens base portions 30a, 30b.

[0059] Furthermore, Figures 15 to 17 show another example of an SCL storage case according to the present invention, using a modified version of lens holder 76 shown in Figure 14. In this case, an SCL storage case 90 has a container body 92 and a cap member 94 that are similar in structure to SCL storage case 70 shown in Figures 12 to 14, and a lens holder 96 has a major feature in that two lens pedestals 30a, 30b arranged in series are arranged in shapes that convex in opposite directions, as is clear from Figures 15 to 17. In other words, the holder body 28 of the lens holder 96 is composed of an upper holder body 28a in which the upper lens pedestal portion 30a is arranged, and a lower holder body 28b in which the lower lens pedestal portion 30b is arranged, and the upper and lower holder bodies 28a, 28b are connected in a crank-like manner with a step portion provided at the height of the intermediate wall portion 98c.

[0060] The upper wall portion 98a is integrally provided with the upper holder body 28a so as to be located above the upper lens pedestal portion 30a, while the lower wall portion 98b is integrally provided with the lower holder body 28b so as to be located below the lower lens pedestal portion 30b. The upper wall portion 98a and the lower wall portion 98b are formed with a notch 100 and a through hole 102, similar to the embodiment shown in Figures 12 to 14. Furthermore, as is clear from Figures 16 and 17, the intermediate wall portion 98c is provided with two through holes 102 that penetrate the intermediate wall portion 98c and reach the upper holder body 28a and the lower holder body 28b, offset toward the side wall portions 98cb on both sides.

[0061] Thus, in the cap member 94 having the lens holder 96 configured as described above, the lens holder 96 is inserted into the container body 92 as shown in FIG. 17, while the cap member 94 is screwed onto the upper part of the container body 92, whereby storage spaces for the SCL 24 are formed between the inner surface of the container body 92, the upper wall portion 98a, the intermediate wall portion 98c, and the upper lens base portion 30a, and between the inner surface of the container body 92, the intermediate wall portion 98c, the lower wall portion 98b, and the lower lens base portion 30b, as shown in FIG. 15. As a result, the SCLs 24, 24 for the left and right eyes can be stored in the SCL storage case 90, respectively, without using a lid member to cover the lens base portions 30a, 30b, and the two SCLs 24, 24 can be easily removed therefrom.

[0062] Thus, the various SCL storage cases (10, 50, 70, 90) according to the embodiments of the present invention shown in the drawings exhibit a number of useful features as containers that can hold or preserve the SCL 24 after it has been removed from the wearer's eye until the next time it is worn. However, it should be understood that such SCL storage cases (10, etc.) are merely examples of representative embodiments of the present invention, and that the present invention should not be interpreted in any way as being limited by the specific descriptions of such embodiments.

[0063] For example, in the above embodiment, the lens holder 16 has two holder bodies 28, 28; 28a, 28b in order to accommodate two SCLs 24, 24 for the left eye and the right eye, and is configured so that two lens pedestal portions 30, 30; 30a, 30b are provided thereon. However, of course, there is no problem if the lens holder 16 has one holder body 28 in which one lens pedestal portion 30 is provided thereon in order to accommodate one SCL 24.

[0064] In addition, the upper wall portions 32a, 58a, 78a, 98a, the lower wall portions 32b, 58b, 78b, 98b and the intermediate wall portions 78c, 98c have notches 34, 60, 80, 100 and through holes 82, 102. Needless to say, these notches and through holes can be formed in any shape, and either one or both can be provided in each wall portion. Furthermore, it is possible to provide not only one but also multiple notches and through holes in each wall portion.

[0065] Furthermore, although the inner peripheral surfaces of the illustrated container bodies 52, 72, 92 all have a rectangular cross section, there is no problem if they have a polygonal shape such as a pentagon, hexagon, octagon, etc. In order to correspond to such polygonal inner peripheral surfaces, the heights of the upper wall portions 58a, 78a, 98a and the lower wall portions 58b, 78b, 98b are appropriately set, and the heights of the intermediate wall portions 78c, 98c are also appropriately set, so that gaps that prevent the SCL from slipping out are formed between the inner peripheral surfaces.

[0066] Furthermore, in terms of the attachment structure of the caps 14, 54, 74, 94 to the openings of the container bodies 12, 52, 72, 92, in addition to the screw-on method as illustrated, known attachment structures that can be detachably attached to the openings of the container bodies 12, etc. to form an airtight space inside the container bodies 12, etc., such as snap-fitting methods, can also be appropriately adopted.

[0067] In the illustrated embodiment, a configuration consisting of a combination of a cylindrical portion 38 and a pin portion 40 fitted into it is used as a connecting means for connecting the lower ends of the two opposing holder bodies 28, 28 to each other and maintaining the gap between them, but various known connecting structures can be used instead. For example, a structure in which a hook member extending from one holder body 28 engages the other holder body 28, or a method in which a member for maintaining the gap between the two holder bodies 28, 28 is fixed to the holder bodies 28, 28 by adhesion or welding, etc., can also be appropriately used.

[0068] In addition, the SCL storage case (10) according to the present invention can also be used as a lens case for hydrogen peroxide disinfection by attaching a platinum catalyst member to the lower end of the holder body 28 and immersing it together with the lens holder (16) in the hydrogen peroxide solution (42) in the container body (12) to allow sterilization by hydrogen peroxide to proceed.

[0069] In addition, although not listed one by one, the present invention can be implemented in various forms with various changes, modifications, improvements, etc. based on the knowledge of those skilled in the art, and it goes without saying that all such implementation forms fall within the scope of the present invention as long as they do not deviate from the spirit of the present invention.
