Abstract

To suitably execute multi feeding determination when envelopes are used as a recording medium.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 comprises: an ultrasonic detection unit 21 provided at a conveyance passage 16 of a recording medium P; a thickness detection unit 22 provided at the conveyance passage 16; and a control unit 6 for, when the recording medium P is envelopes, determining the multi feeding of the recording medium P based on the thickness of the recording medium P detected by the thickness detection unit 22 during job execution. The control unit 6 test-conveys the recording medium P to the conveyance passage 16 before the execution start of the job when the recording medium P is envelopes, and sets the thickness of the recording medium P detected by the thickness detection unit 22 as a multi feeding determination standard value when it is determined that the recording medium P is not multi-fed based on the detection result by the ultrasonic detection unit 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
