Abstract

To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of securely removing ink fixed on the recording head.SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus includes: a recording head 37 which is provided with a nozzle surface N where a plurality of ink ejection ports are opened downward; a wipe unit 53 which performs a wiping operation where a blade 71 is moved along the nozzle surface N while applying a cleaning liquid to the nozzle surface N to wipe the nozzle surface N; and a control part which controls the recording head 37 and the wipe unit 53 to perform a first maintenance operation to perform the wiping operation and a second maintenance operation to perform the wiping operation, after the first maintenance operation and then after the ink is pushed out from the nozzle surface N. In the second maintenance operation, the cleaning liquid applied to the nozzle surface N is supplied firstly, then the ink is pushed out from the nozzle surface N, and then the wiping operation is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6B
