Abstract

To provide an electric vehicle control method and electric vehicle control device which suppress the sense of the incongruity or dissatisfaction of a user from occurring while suppressing temperature of a harness from rising.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle control method controls an electric vehicle with a drive motor 3 whose electric power is supplied from a battery 6. The method causes a controller 7 to perform the steps of: estimating temperature of a harness 81 which electrically connects the battery 6 with the drive motor 3; starting, when the estimated temperature of the harness 81 reaches a first threshold value Tth1, a first limitation of causing an upper limit of input-output of the battery 6 to be lower as the estimated temperature becomes higher; and switching, when the estimated temperature reaches a second threshold value Tth2 higher than the first threshold value Tth1, from the first limitation to a second limitation of limiting output of the battery 6 to a value that makes output of the drive motor 3 equal to output for evacuation travel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
