Abstract

To solve the following problems: development of external preparation compositions using plant-derived raw materials has been required in resent year since interest in naturally derived raw materials has increased from the perspective of sustainability and demands for vegan cosmetics using no animal-derived raw materials have also increased; and although with such a background, solid vegetable oil at a normal temperature is used for development of external preparation compositions because of good touch feeling when applied to the skin, it can be hardly said that it is satisfactory in terms of oxidation stability and skin care effects.SOLUTION: There is provided an external preparation composition for skin or hair care with excellent oxidation stability and skin care effects, using, as a solid fat component, a product mixture with a melting point of 30-40°C obtained by transesterification of plant-derived higher alcohol.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a skin or hair care topical composition containing a product mixture obtained by transesterification of a higher alcohol derived from a plant. The skin or hair care topical composition includes skin care cosmetics such as face washes, lotions, creams, and packs, makeup cosmetics such as foundations, lipsticks, and mascaras, hair care cosmetics such as shampoos, rinses, hair styling agents, hair growth agents, hair colors, and permanent wave agents, body care cosmetics such as body soaps, slimming agents, UV care agents, bath agents, and antiperspirants, and fragrance cosmetics such as perfumes and colognes, including legal cosmetics, quasi-drugs, and pharmaceuticals. [Background technology]

[0002] External preparation compositions such as cleansing agents, cosmetics, and medicines contain oily ingredients for a variety of purposes, such as suppressing evaporation of moisture from the skin, setting hair, and improving the feel of use. These oily ingredients include animal and vegetable oils, waxes, hydrocarbons, higher fatty acids, higher alcohols, esters, silicone oils, and the like, and are used according to their chemical and physical properties, feel of use, and other characteristics. Among these, carnauba wax, candelilla wax, rice bran wax, beeswax, lanolin, petrolatum, shea butter, and cacao butter, which are solid at room temperature, have been used as emollients, gloss agents, and solidifiers for liquid oils, particularly in creams, lipsticks, foundations, and hair sticks.

[0003] In recent years, interest in natural ingredients has increased from the perspective of sustainability, and there is also high demand for vegan cosmetics that do not use animal-derived ingredients, so there is a demand for the development of topical compositions that use plant-derived ingredients.

[0004] Of the above solid fats, lanolin, petrolatum, shea butter, and cocoa butter have melting points of around 40°C, and when incorporated into topical compositions, they have an excellent feel to them, for example, they quickly liquefy when applied to the skin. However, lanolin is an animal fat, and petrolatum is a hydrocarbon derived from petroleum. In addition, although shea butter and cacao butter are vegetable oils and fats, they contain relatively large amounts of unsaturated fatty acids and therefore have poor oxidation stability, especially at high temperatures.

[0005] Patent Document 1 discloses an external preparation composition that contains, as a solid fat, a plant-derived ester that has excellent feel when applied and excellent oxidation stability.

[0006] [Patent Document 1] JP 2013-40157 A DISCLOSURE OF THEINVENTION [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0007] In the context of the above, research has been conducted into plant-derived oils and esters that are solid at room temperature, and topical skin or hair care compositions have been developed, but the effects of these compositions have not necessarily been satisfactory. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] The present invention has been made under the above circumstances, and provides a novel skin or hair care topical composition containing a solid fat component having a melting point of 30 to 40°C and excellent oxidation stability and skin care effect, which is obtained by transesterifying a plant-derived higher alcohol.

[0009] Claim 1 of the present invention is a skin or hair care topical composition characterized by containing, as a solid fat component, a product mixture having a melting point of 30 to 40°C obtained by transesterifying a plant-derived higher alcohol.

[0010] Claim 2 of the present invention relates to the skin or hair care composition according to claim 1, in which the solid fat component is 0.01 to 100% by mass. Effect of the Invention

[0011] The solid fat component of the present invention having a melting point of 30 to 40° C. obtained by transesterification of the plant-derived higher alcohol has excellent oxidation stability and has a moisture-retaining effect on the skin, thereby contributing to the maintenance of a healthy skin condition. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0012] [Figure 1] Figure 1 shows the effect of the solid fat component of the present invention in improving the moisture content of the stratum corneum. It can be seen that when the solid fat component is blended in an amount of 4% in the emulsion, the moisture content of the stratum corneum improves over time compared to petrolatum. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] The present invention is described in detail below. The solid fat component of the present invention is obtained by transesterifying higher alcohols obtained from palm, rapeseed, and mustard by an enzymatic reaction, and adjusting the melting point to 30 to 40°C.

[0014] This solid fat component is available under the trade name "Botani Butter" as a commercial ingredient from Floratech, Inc. (a subsidiary of Cargill Beauty) in the United States.

[0015] In the skin or hair care composition of the present invention, the preferred amount of the solid fat component is 0.01 to 100% by mass in the skin or hair care composition, depending on the formulation and function. If it is less than 0.01% by mass, it is insufficient to exert the function of the solid fat component. Depending on the function of the preparation, it may be blended at 100%.
