[0010] An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. An electronic keyboard instrument (electronic musical instrument) 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes a main body 10 and a leg 100. As shown in FIG. 1, the main body 10 includes a keyboard 20 having a plurality of keys 22 consisting of white keys 22W and black keys 22B and arranged so that the pressing parts of the keys 22 are exposed, and a main body case (housing) 30 that surrounds and holds the keyboard 20. The leg 100 includes a pair of side plate members 110, a pedal frame 120, and a pedal device 130. In the following description, the arrangement direction of the plurality of keys 22 of the keyboard 20 is the left-right direction (the left side of FIG. 1 is the left direction), the extension direction of each key 22 is the front-rear direction (the front side of FIG. 1 is the front direction, and the back side is the rear direction), and the up-down direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 is the up-down direction (the upper side of FIG. 1 is the up direction, and the lower side is the down direction).

[0011] 1, the pair of side plate members 110 are plate-like members that are erected on the installation surface on both the left and right sides of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 with both plate surfaces facing in the left-right direction, and support the main body case 30. The pedal frame 120 connects the side plate members 110 below each other. The pedal device 130 is provided in approximately the center of the pedal frame 120 in the left-right direction. In the electronic keyboard instrument 1, the main body case 30 of the main body 10 that is exposed to the outside and each side plate member 110 of the leg portion 100 are each made of wood, giving them a distinctive texture.

[0012] As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the main body case 30 is a horizontally elongated, generally rectangular shape with the left-right direction as viewed from above and below, and includes thick plate-like members, such as a front panel 32, a rear panel 33, a left arm 34, a right arm 35, a front top panel 36F, a rear top panel 36B, and a bottom panel 37, and has a generally L-shaped vertical section as viewed from the left. Note that Fig. 2 shows the state in which the left arm 34 has been removed. The front panel 32 is a generally rectangular shape that is long in the left-right direction, and constitutes the lower part of the front end of the main body 10 and constitutes the front surface of the main body case 30 below the keyboard 20. A power button 32a that is an on / off switch for the electronic keyboard instrument 1 is provided at the right end of the front panel 32. The rear panel 33 is a generally rectangular shape that is long in the left-right direction, and is provided at the rear of the main body 10 to constitute the rear surface of the main body case 30.

[0013] The left arm 34 and the right arm 35 are both substantially rectangular in shape and elongated in the front-rear direction, and a step is provided in the substantially central portion in the front-rear direction so that the front side is at substantially the same height as the keyboard 20. The left arm 34 and the right arm 35 are provided on the left and right sides of the main body 10, respectively, and form the left and right sides of the main body case 30. The front top plate 36F is substantially rectangular in shape and elongated in the left-right direction, and is provided on the front side of the upper rear part of the main body 10, and forms a part of the top surface of the main body case 30. The rear top plate 36B is substantially rectangular in shape and elongated in the left-right direction, and is provided on the rear side of the upper rear part of the main body 10, and forms a part of the top surface of the main body case 30. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3, a volume panel section 24 on which a volume knob 24a and the like for adjusting the output sound from the speaker are arranged is provided between the keyboard 20 and the right arm 35. In addition, a setting panel section 26 on which various setting buttons 26a and the like are arranged is provided between the keyboard 20 and the left arm 34.

[0014] The rear top panel 36B is attached to the rear panel 33 so as to be rotatable so that the front side opens. A cover plate 11, which is substantially rectangular and elongated in the left-right direction, is provided on the lower side of the rear top panel 36B with both plate surfaces facing the up-down direction. The cover plate 11 is provided with a plurality of substantially rectangular upper openings 11a that open upward at intervals in the left-right direction. The upper surface and side surfaces of the cover plate 11 are covered with a saran net. When the rear top panel 36B is open, the openings on the lower side of the rear top panel 36B are covered by the cover plate 11 so that the inside of the main body case 30 cannot be seen. In addition, a music stand 36F1 is attached to the front top panel 36F at approximately the center in the left-right direction. The lower panel 37 is substantially rectangular and elongated in the left-right direction, and is provided below the main body part 10 to form the lower surface of the main body case 30.

[0015] As shown in FIG. 2, a console member 12, which is a substantially rectangular plate long in the left-right direction, is provided behind each key 22 of the keyboard 20 with both plate surfaces facing up and down. The console member 12 is provided so as to cover the rear ends of each key 22 of the keyboard 20 at a position where it overlaps with the front end of the front top plate 36F in the up-down direction. Various switches are provided on the front surface of the console member 12, and the console member 12 prevents the inside of the main body case 30 from being seen from the outside of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 through the gap at the rear end of the keyboard 20. A key pressing mechanism 39 is provided in the space between the keyboard 20 and the lower plate 37 to realize a key pressing sensation and tone similar to that of a real piano when a player presses each key 22 of the keyboard 20.

[0016] As shown in FIG. 2, the main body 10 is provided with a key cover 38 that covers the part of the keyboard 20 that is exposed to the outside. The key cover 38 can be folded in two via a hinge, and is stored in a space behind the key pressing mechanism 39 inside the main body case 30 so as to be freely inserted and removed. A handle member 14 that is a handle part of the key cover 38 is provided between the front end of the key cover 38 and the console member 12. Two horizontally elongated, substantially rectangular sound emission holes 14a that open so as to penetrate the handle member 14 are provided in a central part of the handle member 14. In addition, a speaker (not shown) that emits sounds realized by the key pressing mechanism 39 is provided in a space S provided behind the key cover 38 when the key cover 38 is stored in the main body case 30 (as shown in FIG. 2).

[0017] A sheet metal member 16 extending in the left-right direction is attached to the lower surface of the front top plate 36F (see Figs. 2 and 3). The sheet metal member 16 is formed in a substantially stepped shape from the lower front side to the upper rear side. A display member (display device) 40 in the form of a substantially rectangular thick plate elongated in the left-right direction is attached to the front end of the lower side of the substantially stepped sheet metal member 16 with the display surface facing forward. The display member 40 is provided between the key cover 38 and the front top plate 36F with gaps opening to the front side on both the upper and lower sides. In the electronic keyboard instrument 1, the sound emitted from the speaker provided in the main body case 30 is emitted to the outside of the main body case 30 via at least one of the following four sound emission paths: a sound emission path passing through the gaps between the keys 22 of the keyboard 20, a sound emission path passing through each sound emission hole 14a, a sound emission path passing through gaps opening on both the upper and lower sides of the display member 40, and a sound emission path passing through the upper opening 11a.

[0018] Next, the function, effect and configuration of the display member 40, which is a main part of the present invention, will be described in detail. As shown in Fig. 2, a display section 42, which is substantially rectangular and elongated in the left-right direction, is provided at a substantially central portion of the front surface 40a of the display member 40 in the left-right direction, for displaying information related to the performance of the electronic keyboard instrument 1. Displaying information related to the performance here means, for example, displaying a metronome function or displaying the strength of the key depression value of the key 22 depressed by the performer. A display area 42a is provided at the center of the display section 42, in which light from a plurality of LEDs 72 (see Fig. 3), each of which is a light-emitting element, as described later, is displayed. The plurality of LEDs 72 are arranged in a left-right direction, and any one of the LEDs 72 is turned on or off.

[0019] When the display unit 42 displays the metronome function, first, some consecutive LEDs 72 among the plurality of LEDs 72 are lit as one group, and the other LEDs 72 are in a non-lit state. Here, in accordance with the set tempo, the LEDs 72 at one end in the left-right direction (e.g., the left end) among the lit LEDs 72 are turned off, and the LEDs 72 adjacent to the LEDs 72 at the other end in the left-right direction (e.g., the right end) among the lit LEDs 72 that were turned off are turned on, so that the same number of LEDs 72 are always turned on consecutively at the same time. This turning on and off is continued, and when there are no more turned off LEDs 72 on the other end side, the lit LEDs 72 at the other end are turned off, and the turned on and off LEDs 72 adjacent to the LEDs 72 at one end among the lit LEDs 72 that were turned off are turned on, and this turning on and off is continued and repeated. That is, some consecutive lit LEDs 72 are seen as if they are repeatedly moving back and forth in the left-right direction in the display area 42a in accordance with the set tempo, and the metronome function is realized.

[0020] As shown in FIG. 3, the display member 40 includes, in order from the front side, an acrylic panel 44, a diffusion sheet 46, a light-shielding case (light-shielding member) 50, a light-guiding member 60, and an LED board (board) 70. An insulating sheet 80 is disposed behind the LED board 70. The above-mentioned sheet metal member 16 is disposed behind the insulating sheet 80. The acrylic panel 44 is a transparent panel member having a substantially rectangular plate shape that is long in the left-right direction, and is disposed with the display surface facing forward, constituting the front surface 40a (see FIG. 2) of the display member 40. The diffusion sheet 46 is a horizontally elongated substantially rectangular sheet member having a shape and size corresponding to the display unit 42, and is made of, for example, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and has light diffusion properties. The diffusion sheet 46 is attached to a portion of the front surface 50a of the light-shielding case 50 that corresponds to the display unit 42.

[0021] As shown in Figs. 3 to 5, the light-shielding case 50 is a member in the shape of a substantially rectangular plate elongated in the left-right direction, and is made of, for example, polystyrene to which a black pigment has been added, and has light-shielding properties. The light-shielding case 50 is disposed in a position in which both plate surfaces face the front-rear direction. The front surface 50a of the light-shielding case 50 has an outer edge portion 50b located at the outer edge of the front surface 50a, which protrudes slightly forward from the front surface 50a, forming a substantially concave recess that is open to the front side. An acrylic panel 44 is fitted into the concave-shaped front surface 50a. As shown in the enlarged view E2 of Fig. 4, a frame portion 52 in the shape of a horizontally elongated substantially rectangular frame that conforms to the shape of the display unit 42 is provided at a position of the front surface 50a of the light-shielding case 50 corresponding to the display unit 42.

[0022] A frame-shaped first stepped front surface portion (front surface portion) 54 that is slightly recessed in a stepped shape toward the rear side from the front surface 50a of the light-shielding case 50 is provided on the inside of the frame-shaped portion 52. A second stepped front surface portion (front surface portion) 56 that is recessed in a stepped shape toward the rear side from the first stepped front surface portion 54 is provided on the inside of the first stepped front surface portion 54. In this way, the front surface 50a on which the frame-shaped portion 52 having the first stepped front surface portion 54 and the second stepped front surface portion 56 is provided, and the outer edge portion 50b function as a light-shielding member having light-shielding properties.

[0023] At a position of the second stepped front surface portion 56 corresponding to the display area 42a (see FIG. 2), there is provided an emission opening 56a having a horizontally elongated substantially rectangular shape that opens in the front-rear direction and through which a part of the light guide member 60 is inserted to emit light from the LED 72. More specifically, the emission opening 56a is provided so as to open in a rectangular shape with the long side direction being the left-right direction. The above-mentioned diffusion sheet 46 is attached to the first stepped front surface portion 54. Around the emission opening 56a in the first stepped front surface portion 54, there is provided an attachment area (mounting area) 54a for attaching the diffusion sheet 46.

[0024] As shown in the enlarged view E3 of FIG. 5, a cylindrical wall portion 58 is provided on the rear side of the light exit opening 56a on the rear surface 50d of the light-shielding case 50, which extends in a rectangular cylindrical shape from the opening end of the light exit opening 56a toward the rear side. The cylindrical wall portion 58 is provided in a shape that extends approximately perpendicular to the front surface 50a of the light-shielding case 50. The cylindrical wall portion 58 includes a pair of upper and lower wall portions 58a (upper wall portion 58a1, lower wall portion 58a2) that are located relatively to the top and bottom and form the upper and lower walls, respectively, and a pair of left and right wall portions 58b that are located relatively to the left and right and form the left and right walls, respectively. As shown in FIG. 5, the inner surfaces of the left and right wall portions 58b are slightly inclined outward in the vertical direction from the rear side to the front side.

[0025] 4 and 8, the boundary between the second step front surface 56 and the upper and lower wall portions 58a of the cylindrical wall portion 58 is chamfered to provide an inclined surface (connected surface) 50C (first inclined surface 50C1, second inclined surface 50C2) that is inclined with respect to the front surface of the second step front surface 56 and also inclined with respect to the inner wall surfaces of the upper and lower wall portions 58a. The inclined surface 50C is connected to the inner wall surfaces 58a3 and 58a4 in a direction away from the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64.

[0026] That is, a first inclined surface 50C1 is provided on the inner wall surface 58a3 side of the upper wall portion 58a1 and on the opening end side of the emission opening 56a, and a second inclined surface 50C2 is provided on the inner wall surface 58a4 side of the lower wall portion 58a2 and on the opening end side of the emission opening 56a. The first inclined surface 50C1 faces the opening end side of the emission opening 56a on the upper surface 64c of the second plate-like member 64 described later in the vertical direction, and the second inclined surface 50C2 faces the opening end side of the emission opening 56a on the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64 described later in the vertical direction. The inclined surface 50C is an inclined surface that slopes backward and inward (toward the emission opening 56a) from the second step front surface 56 to the upper and lower wall portions 58a.

[0027] Specifically, when the axial direction of a virtual axis extending in the vertical direction along the front surface of the second step front surface portion 56 is 0° and the axial direction of a virtual axis extending in the rear direction is 90°, the first inclined surface 50C1 and the second inclined surface 50C2 are inclined so that the angle θ1 (see FIG. 8) formed with respect to the front surface of the second step front surface portion 56 is approximately 45°. The first inclined surface 50C1 is inclined so that the angle θ2 formed with respect to the inner wall surface 58a3 of the upper wall portion 58a1 is approximately 45°, and the second inclined surface 50C2 is inclined so that the angle θ2 formed with respect to the inner wall surface 58a4 of the lower wall portion 58a2 is approximately 45°. As shown in FIG. 8 and other figures, the first inclined surface 50C1 and the second inclined surface 50C2 are provided from a position of the second step front surface portion 56 that does not overlap the attachment region 54a to the upper and lower wall portions 58a when viewed from the front.

[0028] In this way, the first inclined surface 50C1 is inclined relative to the inner wall surface 58a3 of the upper wall portion 58a1 so as to widen upward relative to the inner wall surface 58a3 of the upper wall portion 58a1 as it approaches the exit surface 64a1 of the second plate-like member 64 from the entrance surface 64b1 of the second plate-like member 64, that is, so as to move away from the upper surface 64c of the second plate-like member 64, and the second inclined surface 50C2 is inclined relative to the inner wall surface 58a4 of the lower wall portion 58a2 so as to widen downward relative to the inner wall surface 58a4 of the lower wall portion 58a2 as it approaches the exit surface 64a1 of the second plate-like member 64 from the entrance surface 64b1 of the second plate-like member 64, that is, so as to move away from the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64. The inner wall surfaces of the upper and lower walls 58a may be designed so that the distance between the opposing surface of the second plate-like member 64 and the opposing surface becomes slightly longer as it advances forward relative to the entrance surface 64b1. In other words, the inner wall surface 58a3 of the upper wall portion 58a1 and the inner wall surface 58a4 of the lower wall portion 58a2 may both be inclined such that the angle they form with respect to the front surface of the second step front surface portion 56 is less than 90°.

[0029] Returning to the description of each member constituting the display member 40, as shown in FIG. 3, the LED board 70 is a horizontally elongated, substantially rectangular, plate-like member having a shape corresponding to the display unit 42 and a size slightly larger than the display unit 42, and is disposed in a posture in which both plate surfaces face the front-rear direction. As shown in the enlarged view E1 of FIG. 3, a plurality of LEDs (light source) 72 is provided at a substantially central position in the vertical direction on the front surface 70a of the LED board 70. The plurality of LEDs 72 are arranged in parallel at equal intervals along the left-right direction (first direction), and the substantially rectangular light emitting surface faces the front side. In this embodiment, 20 LEDs 72 are provided on the LED board 70. The insulating sheet 80 is a horizontally elongated, substantially rectangular, sheet-like member having a shape corresponding to the LED board 70 and a size slightly larger than the LED board 70, and has insulating properties. The insulating sheet 80 is sandwiched between the LED board 70 and the sheet metal member 16 to prevent a short circuit between the LED board 70 and the sheet metal member 16.

[0030] 6, the light guide member 60 is made of polycarbonate or acrylic having excellent light transmission properties, and includes a first plate-shaped member 62 and a second plate-shaped member 64. The first plate-shaped member 62 is a horizontally elongated, generally rectangular plate-shaped member that is disposed with both plate surfaces facing the front-rear direction, and the left-right dimension is generally equal to the left-right dimension of the emission opening 56a. The first plate-shaped member 62 is disposed overlapping the front surface 70a of the LED substrate 70 such that the plate surface of the first plate-shaped member 62 is generally parallel to the plate surface of the LED substrate 70.

[0031] The first plate-like member 62 includes a plate-like portion 62a constituting the plate surface, a plurality of protruding portions 62b protruding outward (upward or downward) in a substantially rectangular plate shape, slightly offset from the outer edge of the long side of the plate-like portion 62a toward the rear in a stepped manner, and a support portion 62c integrally connected to the second plate-like member 64 and supporting the second plate-like member 64 so as not to deform or separate. The first plate-like member 62 functions as a support member that supports the second plate-like member 64. The first plate-like member 62 and the second plate-like member 64 are integrally molded from the same material, and therefore can be manufactured more easily than by aligning and combining separate members.

[0032] In the plate-shaped portion 62a of the first plate-shaped member 62, a plurality of openings (hereinafter referred to as "LED openings 62a1") each having a substantially rectangular shape are provided so as to penetrate in the front-rear direction above and below positions corresponding to each LED 72 when the first plate-shaped member 62 is superimposed on the front surface 70a of the LED substrate 70. The plurality of LED openings 62a1 are arranged as a pair of LED openings 62a1, sandwiching one LED 72 therebetween, and facing each other in the up-down direction (second direction). Each LED opening 62a1 opens to a size larger than the light emission surface of each LED 72.

[0033] Each of the protruding portions 62b of the first plate-shaped member 62 is provided with a screw hole 62b1 for screwing the light guide member 60 to the front end portion 16a of the plate-shaped member 16 in a state in which the LED substrate 70 and the insulating sheet 80 are sandwiched between the first plate-shaped member 62 and the plate-shaped member 16. The first plate-shaped member 62 is provided with a support portion 62c at a portion in the left-right direction where the LED opening portion 62a1 is not provided. The first plate-shaped member 62 is a member that supports the second plate-shaped member 64 protruding forward. Since the second plate-shaped member 64 has a characteristic of easily emitting light to a member that it is in contact with, the first plate-shaped member 62 is supported by the support portion 62c so that the second plate-shaped member 64 does not come into contact with members other than the first plate-shaped member 62 as much as possible.

[0034] The second plate-like member 64 is a thick plate-like member having a horizontally elongated, generally rectangular shape, and is arranged with both plate surfaces facing the up-down direction, i.e., standing upright relative to the plate-like portion 62a of the first plate-like member 62, with the up-down and left-right dimensions being slightly smaller than the up-down and left-right dimensions of the emission opening 56a. The second plate-like member 64 is arranged such that its plate surface is substantially perpendicular to the plate surface of the LED substrate 70 when the first plate-like member 62 is superimposed on the front surface 70a of the LED substrate 70. The second plate-like member 64 forms its plate surface and includes a light guide portion 64a located on the front side of the second plate-like member 64 and guiding light from the LED 72, and a light receiving portion 64b located on the rear side of the second plate-like member 64 and facing the light emission surface of the LED 72, and receiving light from the LED 72. Each LED opening 62a1 is opened in the front-rear direction on both the top and bottom sides of the light receiving portion 64b.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 8, the front end surface (top surface) of the light guide portion 64a of the second plate-shaped member 64 is an exit surface 64a1 through which light from the LED 72 is emitted. On the other hand, the rear end surface of the light receiving portion 64b is an entrance surface 64b1 through which light from the LED 72 is incident. In the second plate-shaped member 64, the entrance surface 64b1 and the exit surface 64a1 form opposite sides, and both are provided in a rectangular shape with the long side direction being the left-right direction. The entrance surface 64b1 is flush with the rear surface (back surface) of the plate-shaped portion 62a of the first plate-shaped member 62. In this way, the first plate-shaped member 62 and the second plate-shaped member 64 are provided so that the entrance surface 64b1 extends along the left-right direction between a pair of upper and lower LED openings 62a1.

[0036] When the light guide member 60 is attached to the sheet metal member 16 together with the LED substrate 70 and the insulating sheet 80, the LEDs 72 are hidden behind the second plate-like member 64 of the light guide member 60 as viewed from the front side. The upper surface 64c (middle surface) and the lower surface 64d (middle surface) of the second plate-like member 64 are smoother than the entrance surface 64b1 and the exit surface 64a1. Therefore, the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64 reflect light propagated within the light guide section 64a, making it more difficult for the light to be emitted outside the light guide section 64a than the exit surface 64a1.

[0037] Here, the arrangement of the light guide member 60 and the light-shielding case 50 in the display member 40 will be described. As shown in Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, in a state in which the light guide member 60 and the light-shielding case 50 are attached to the sheet metal member 16, the light guide portion 64a is housed inside the cylindrical wall portion 58 with the emission surface 64a1 exposed from the emission opening portion 56a, both the upper and lower plate surfaces of the second plate member 64 are arranged in close proximity to the opposing ones of the pair of upper and lower wall portions 58a of the cylindrical wall portion 58, and the right side surface and the left side surface of the second plate member 64 are arranged in close proximity to the pair of left and right wall portions 58b of the cylindrical wall portion 58, respectively. As a result, substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the second plate member 64 except for the emission surface 64a1 and the incidence surface 64b1 is covered by the light-shielding case 50 and is light-shielded. Therefore, when light from each LED 72 enters the incident surface 64b1 and exits from the exit surface 64a1, due to the action of the inclined surface 50C described below, when the electronic keyboard instrument 1 is viewed from the front side, only the display area 42a appears to be illuminated.

[0038] 8, a thickened portion (rear surface portion) 58c is provided on the side of the boundary between the second step front surface portion 56 and the cylindrical wall portion 58 opposite to the side facing both plate surfaces of the second plate-like member 64 (in other words, the rear side of the side on which the inclined surface 50C is provided). A surface 58c1 of the thickened portion 58c is parallel to the inclined surface 50C. Therefore, the thickness of the cylindrical wall portion 58 at the portion on which the inclined surface 50C is provided is approximately equal to the thickness of the portion on which the inclined surface 50C is not provided, ensuring the strength of the inclined surface 50C.

[0039] Next, the optical path of the light emitted from each LED 72 provided on the LED substrate 70 will be described. As shown in Fig. 8, the light emitted from each LED 72 is incident on the incident surface 64b1 of the second plate-shaped member 64, and most of the light is guided inside the second plate-shaped member 64 to reach the exit surface 64a1. On the other hand, a part of the light incident on the incident surface 64b1 of the second plate-shaped member 64 is emitted from inside the second plate-shaped member 64 to the outside of the second plate-shaped member 64 from the upper surface 64c or the lower surface 64d of the second plate-shaped member 64.

[0040] A part of the light incident on the incident surface 64b1 travels straight forward and is emitted forward from the emission surface 64a1 of the light guide member 60 (hereinafter, each optical path that travels straight from the incident surface 64b1 and is emitted from the emission surface 64a1 is collectively referred to as the "first optical path L1") (see the arrow shown in FIG. 8). As shown in FIG. 7, another part of the light incident on the incident surface 64b1 is diffused to both sides in the vertical direction from the incident surface 64b1 in the light guide portion 64a and reaches the upper surface 64c or the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64. A part of the light that reaches the upper surface 64c or the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64 is reflected inward by both plate surfaces of the second plate-like member 64, and the remaining light is not reflected and is emitted from the upper surface 64c or the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64 to the outside of the second plate-like member 64.

[0041] Of the light emitted outside the second plate-like member 64, some of the light reaches the left and right wall portions 58b of the cylindrical wall portion 58, and some of the light is absorbed by the cylindrical wall portion 58 and is not emitted from the display member 40, but some of the light is reflected from the cylindrical wall portion 58 without being absorbed by the cylindrical wall portion 58. Here, in the display member of this embodiment having a structure in which the second step front portion 56 and the upper and lower wall portions 58a are directly connected without the inclined surface 50C and the thick portion 58c, a problem occurs in which leaked light is seen not only at the exit surface 64a1 but also at the position of the region LL shown by the dashed line in FIG. 7. In contrast, in the display member 40 of this embodiment in which the inclined surface 50C and the thick portion 58c are provided, it was confirmed that no leaked light is seen at the position of the region LL and light is normally seen from the exit surface 64a1.

[0042] At this time, since the light shielding case 50 is provided with the inclined surface 50C, the light leaked to the outside in the vertical direction of the second plate-shaped member 64 travels straight without reaching the upper and lower wall portions 58a of the light shielding case 50, in other words, the light path travels straight without being blocked by the upper and lower wall portions 58a, and is emitted forward from the emission opening portion 56a (hereinafter, each optical path of the light leaked to the outside in the vertical direction of the second plate-shaped member 64 travels straight and is emitted from the emission opening portion 56a is collectively referred to as the "second optical path L2") (see the arrow shown in FIG. 8). Note that, in FIG. 8, only the second optical path L2 of the light leaked to the outside in the vertical direction of the second plate-shaped member 64 is illustrated, but the light leaked to the outside in the downward direction of the second plate-shaped member 64 also travels straight in the same manner without being blocked by the upper and lower wall portions 58a, and is emitted from the emission opening portion 56a. This leaked light on the second optical path L2 is diffused and travels in a substantially radial direction, and is therefore not emitted toward a specific location such as area LL. Therefore, the amount of light seen from a specific direction is small, and therefore it is substantially difficult to see.

[0043] Here, referring to FIG. 8, it is assumed that the light-shielding case 50 does not have the inclined surface 50C. In this case, a wall extending substantially vertically from the opening end of the exit opening 56a toward the rear side exists in the portion where the inclined surface 50C is provided (hereinafter, the imaginary wall occurring in the portion where the inclined surface 50C is provided is referred to as the "imaginary wall portion 50V"). For this reason, as shown in FIG. 8 by the imaginary optical path (hereinafter, referred to as the "first assumed optical path LA1") and the imaginary optical path (hereinafter, referred to as the "second assumed optical path LA2") shown by the dashed arrow, the light leaking to the outside in the vertical direction of the second plate-like member 64 reaches the imaginary wall portion 50V (reaches the upper and lower walls 58a of the light-shielding case 50). The light of the first assumed optical path LA1 and the light of the second assumed optical path LA2 that have reached the imaginary wall portion 50V overlap while traveling forward along the imaginary wall portion 50V, respectively, and are emitted forward from the vicinity of the exit surface 64a1.

[0044] In this way, the multiple light beams that overlap along the virtual wall portion 50V are ultimately concentrated and emitted from the vicinity of the emission surface 64a1, which may cause a problem in that unintended and unnecessary leak light is visible in the areas LL located above and below the display area 42a when the electronic keyboard instrument 1 is viewed from the front side. This situation tends to become more pronounced as the length of the upper and lower wall portions 58a in the front-to-rear direction increases, since the opportunity for reflection at the interface between the virtual wall portion 50V and the air layer increases.

[0045] In contrast, in the electronic keyboard instrument 1 of this embodiment, the light-shielding case 50 is provided with an inclined surface 50C, so that the light leaking outward in the vertical direction of the second plate-like member 64 is emitted to the outside of the emission opening 56a via the second optical path L2 that travels straight without reaching the upper and lower wall portions 58a. As described above, the light emitted from each LED is emitted forward from the emission opening 56a via either the first optical path L1 or the second optical path L2, so that unintended leaked light is not visible on both the upper and lower sides of the display area 42a, and a good illumination state is realized in the display area 42a.

[0046] As described above, the display member 40 of this embodiment comprises an LED 72 which is a light-emitting element, a light-guiding member 60 including a second plate-shaped member 64 having an incident surface 64b1 into which light from the LED 72 is incident, an exit surface 64a1 from which the light from the LED 72 is emitted, and an upper surface 64c and a lower surface 64d located between the incident surface 64b1 and the exit surface 64a1, and a light-shielding case 50 having inner wall surfaces 58a3 and 58a4 which face at least a portion of the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d, and an inclined surface 50C which is disposed on the exit surface 64a1 side and continues from the inner wall surfaces 58a3 and 58a4 in a direction away from the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d.

[0047] In the display member 40 of the present embodiment configured as described above, a portion of the light emitted from each LED and incident on the entrance surface 64b1 is guided within the second plate-shaped member 64 and emitted from the exit surface 64a1, and the other portion leaks out from the upper surface 64c or the lower surface 64d of the second plate-shaped member 64, which is an intermediate surface other than the exit surface 64a1, to the outside of the second plate-shaped member 64. Here, since the inclined surface 50C that is chamfered is provided at the opening end of the exit opening 56a, the light leaking out to the outside of the second plate-shaped member 64 does not follow an optical path that is locally condensed by the light-shielding case 50, but is diffused and emitted from the exit opening 56a.

[0048] Therefore, in a display device having a virtual wall portion 50V different from the present invention, a plurality of lights emitted to the outside of the light-guiding member from other than the exit surface of the light-guiding member are concentrated by the virtual wall portion 50V, resulting in unintended light being visible from outside the exit opening 56a, whereas in the display device 40 of this embodiment, the concentration of light leaking to the outside of the second plate-like member 64 is suppressed, and a good illumination state can be realized at the exit opening 56a. Thus, in this embodiment, by giving a characteristic shape to the light-shielding case 50, it is possible to prevent unintended light lines from being visible near the exit opening 56a, and it is possible to achieve both illumination and light blocking while achieving a good illumination state.

[0049] In addition, in the display member 40 according to the present embodiment, the inclined surface 50C is chamfered in the shape of a C chamfer. This configuration allows the chamfered area to be maximized while saving space in the chamfered portion. Therefore, it is possible to effectively achieve both illumination and light blocking in the limited space near the light exit opening 56a.

[0050] In the display member 40 according to this embodiment, the light-shielding case 50 includes a second stepped front surface 56 provided with an exit opening 56a, and a pair of upper and lower wall portions 58a extending from the opening ends of the exit opening 56a and facing both plate surfaces of the second plate-like member 64, and chamfering is performed on the side of the boundary between the second stepped front surface 56 and the upper and lower wall portions 58a facing the second plate-like member 64, and thickening is performed on the side of the boundary between the second stepped front surface 56 and the upper and lower wall portions 58a opposite to the side facing the second plate-like member 64. With this configuration, the thickness of the chamfered inclined surface 50C and other portions can be made substantially equal at the boundary between the second stepped wall portion 56 and the upper and lower wall portions 58a, and the strength of the chamfered inclined surface 50C can be ensured.

[0051] Moreover, in the display member 40 according to the present embodiment, a diffusion sheet 46 is provided on the side where the emission surface 64a1 of the first stepped front surface 54 is exposed, and the diffusion sheet 46 diffuses the light emitted from the emission surface 64a1, the first stepped front surface 54 includes an attachment area 54a where the diffusion sheet 46 is attached around the emission opening 56a, and the chamfering is arranged at a position of the first stepped front surface 54 that does not overlap the attachment area 54a. Thus, by providing an inclined surface 50C that is chamfered up to the vicinity of the attachment area 54a, it is possible to secure a large area for chamfering while realizing a configuration that includes a diffusion sheet.

[0052] In the display member 40 according to the present embodiment, the LED board 70 has a plurality of LEDs 72 arranged in parallel in the left-right direction along the plate surface of the second plate-like member 64, the entrance surface 64b1 and the exit surface 64a1 of the second plate-like member 64, and the exit opening 56a of the light-shielding case 50 are arranged in a substantially rectangular shape with the left-right direction as the long side direction, and the inclined surfaces 50C formed by chamfering are arranged on both sides of the opening end of the exit opening 56a in the vertical direction substantially perpendicular to the left-right direction. With this configuration, while realizing a substantially rectangular illumination mode by the plurality of LEDs 72 arranged in parallel in the left-right direction, it is possible to prevent unintended light lines from being generated on both the top and bottom sides of the exit opening 56a, and to realize a better illumination mode.

[0053] In the display member 40 according to this embodiment, the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d of the second plate-shaped member 64 are smoother than the entrance surface 64b1. With this configuration, the light that is diffused toward the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d in the second plate-shaped member 64 and reaches the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d is efficiently totally reflected at the interface with the air layer and reaches the exit surface 64a1. Therefore, the light diffused in the second plate-shaped member 64 can be effectively emitted from the exit surface 64a1, and the brightness can be improved.

[0054] The electronic keyboard instrument 1 according to this embodiment includes a display member 40 for displaying information related to a performance. With this configuration, the display member 40 of this embodiment, which is both illuminated and light-shielded, can be used as a device for displaying, for example, a metronome function in the electronic keyboard instrument 1 or for displaying the strength of the key pressing value of the key 22 pressed by the performer. As a result, it is possible to realize an electronic keyboard instrument 1 including a display member 40 with excellent visibility and design, which can illuminate in a small width in the vertical direction and uniformly illuminate with a dim light in the horizontal direction.

[0055] Moreover, the electronic keyboard instrument 1 according to this embodiment includes a sheet metal member 16 for attaching the display member 40 to the main body case 30 of the electronic keyboard instrument 1, and an insulating sheet 80 sandwiched between the LED board 70 and the sheet metal member 16. This allows the display member 40 to be firmly attached to the electronic keyboard instrument 1 by the sheet metal member 16, and realizes a specific configuration capable of preventing a short circuit between the sheet metal member 16 and the LED board 70.

[0056] In the present embodiment, the opening end of the emission opening 56a is provided with the chamfered inclined surface 50C, but as a modified example, the opening end of the emission opening 56a may be provided with a curved surface (connected surface) that is curved in a concave arc shape toward a direction away from the upper surface 64c and the lower surface 64d of the second plate-like member 64 by chamfering. In the present embodiment, the inclination angle of the inclined surface 50C is 45°, but is not limited to this as long as it is less than 90°.

[0057] In addition, the light-shielding case having the inclined surface 50C in this embodiment may be formed by performing chamfering (cutting, polishing, or bending) on the virtual wall portion 50V of the light-shielding case in which the virtual wall portion 50V is provided in the initial state, or may be molded in advance using a mold that corresponds to the shape of the inclined surface 50C.

[0058] The above-described embodiments are presented as examples and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention. These novel embodiments can be implemented in various other forms, and various omissions, substitutions, and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. These embodiments and their modifications are included in the scope and gist of the invention, and are included in the scope of the invention and its equivalents described in the claims.
