Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a fountain pen. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, there is known a fountain pen in which the nib is inserted into the mouth of an ink bottle, the nib is dipped in ink, and in this state, an ink suction mechanism provided on the ink tank is operated to suck the ink into the ink tank (for example, Patent Document 1).Also known is a fountain pen configured such that the nib is inserted into an ink bottle with a dedicated member attached to its mouth, and in the inserted state, the ink bottle is tilted so that it faces upward, causing ink to flow into the ink tank along a core member that extends from the nib to the ink tank (for example, Patent Document 2). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2011-161670 A [Patent Document 2] Patent No. 127118 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] The fountain pens disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2 both require the nib to be inserted into an ink bottle, which causes the nib to become dirty every time the ink is refilled, making maintenance a hassle.
[0005] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above points, and has an object to provide a fountain pen that can be refilled with ink without soiling the pen tip. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a fountain pen comprising a neck into which a pen core having an ink flow passage is inserted, and a body having an ink storage compartment inside and to which the neck is removably attached, wherein the body has a core member extending into the ink storage compartment so that its front end is exposed from an opening provided in the front part of the body, and the core member has a groove formed from the front end toward the rear in the axial direction, and when the neck is attached to the body, the rear end face of the pen core and the front end face of the core member abut each other, and the ink flow passage of the neck and the groove of the body are connected (Invention 1).
[0007] According to this invention (Invention 1), a dedicated adapter that can be attached to the front part of the body is attached to the mouth of the ink bottle, and when refilling the ink, the neck of the fountain pen is removed, the front part of the body is attached to the adapter, and the ink bottle is tilted so that it is on the upper side, and ink from the ink bottle flows down the core member protruding from the front part of the body and into the ink storage section. Also, when writing with a fountain pen with a neck attached to the body, the ink flow passage of the neck communicates with the groove of the body, so that ink is supplied from the ink storage section through the groove of the core member to the ink flow passage of the pen core. With such a fountain pen, since it is configured so that ink can be refilled by removing the neck, it is possible to refill the ink without soiling the nib.
[0008] In the above invention (Invention 1), it is preferable that the groove portion is formed over the entire length of the core member from the front end portion (Invention 2).
[0009] According to this invention (Invention 2), when refilling the ink, the ink easily flows from the ink bottle along the core member into the ink storage section.
[0010] In the above inventions (Inventions 1 and 2), it is preferable that a recess with which the groove portion communicates is formed on the front end surface of the core member (Invention 3).
[0011] According to this invention (Invention 3), the ink flow passage of the neck and the groove of the body are connected via a recess formed in the core member, so that when attaching the neck to the body, there is no need to align the ink flow passage of the neck with the groove of the body.
[0012] In the above inventions (Inventions 1 to 3), it is preferable that the front end of the core member has an approximately cylindrical shape, and a plate-shaped portion extending axially is erected in the groove portion, so that two ink grooves are formed on both sides of the plate-shaped portion, and a space is formed between the plate-shaped portion and the opening of the groove portion at the front end of the core member, and a protrusion protruding toward the space is formed on the end face of the plate-shaped portion facing the opening of the groove portion (Invention 4).
[0013] According to this invention (Invention 4), by providing a plate-like portion extending in the axial direction in the groove portion, two ink grooves through which ink flows are formed on both sides of the plate-like portion at the front end of the core member, and the space formed between the plate-like portion and the opening of the groove portion functions as an air flow passage. With a fountain pen having such a configuration, there is a concern that ink may drip from the space when the neck is removed, but by providing a protrusion that protrudes in the direction of the space that serves as the air flow passage on the end face of the plate-like portion facing the opening of the groove portion, the ink remaining in the ink grooves is more likely to move to fill the space that serves as the air flow passage, and since the ink fills the space, dripping of ink from the front end of the barrel is suppressed even when the neck is removed.
[0014] In the above inventions (Inventions 1 to 4), it is preferable that the core member is provided so as to be movable in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir (Invention 5).
[0015] According to this invention (Invention 5), the core member can be disposed in an appropriate position both when the neck is attached to the body and when the neck is detached from the body.
[0016] In the above invention (Invention 5), the core member may have a radially protruding abutment portion rearward of the front end portion, and the abutment portion may abut against an abutted portion formed on the inner surface of the body portion, thereby restricting forward movement of the core member (Invention 6).
[0017] In the above inventions (Inventions 1 to 6), an elastic member that urges the core member forward may be disposed inside the ink reservoir (Invention 7).
[0018] In the above invention (Invention 7), the core member may be attached to the body portion via the elastic member (Invention 8). Effect of the Invention
[0019] According to the fountain pen of the present invention, the neck portion can be removed to allow ink to be refilled, so that ink can be refilled without soiling the pen tip. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0021] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described below, and the embodiment is merely an example described to explain the technical features of the present invention. In addition, the shapes and dimensions shown in each drawing are shown only to facilitate understanding of the contents of the present invention, and do not accurately reflect the actual shapes and dimensions.
[0022] In this specification, "forward" and "front side" refer to the direction along the axial direction of the fountain pen, toward the side where the pen body of the fountain pen is located. "Rear" and "rear side" refer to the direction along the axial direction of the fountain pen, opposite to the forward or forward side. Furthermore, "front end" refers to the front end of any member or part, and "rear end" refers to the rear end of any member or part. Furthermore, "front end" refers to a part of any member or part that includes the front end and extends from the front end toward the rear end side to the middle of the member, etc., and "rear end" refers to a part of any member or part that includes the rear end and extends from the rear end toward the front end side to the middle of the member, etc., inclusive. In addition, in Figures 1-3 and 5-10, the left side of the figure is the "front end side" and the right side of the figure is the "rear end side".
[0023] First Embodiment The first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, the fountain pen 100 according to the first embodiment has a barrel 1 composed of a neck 2 into which a pen core 23 having an ink flow passage 232 is inserted, and a body 3 having an ink storage section 35 therein, and the neck 2 is detachably attached to the body 3, for example, by screwing. As will be described later, the fountain pen 100 is used with the neck 2 attached to the body 3 when writing, and the neck 2 can be removed from the body 3 when refilling ink, as shown in FIG. 2. The front end 51 of the core member 5 in which the groove 55 is formed is exposed from an opening 333 provided in the front part of the body 3, and when the neck 2 is attached to the body 3, the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 abut against each other, and the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 and the groove 55 of the body 3 are configured to communicate with each other. A cap (not shown) is detachably attached to the barrel 1 by, for example, screwing so as to cover the neck portion 2.
[0024] The neck 2 is configured by inserting the pen body 22 and the pen core 23, with the pen body 22 adjacent to its upper surface, into a front opening 211 formed in a neck body 21 having a substantially cylindrical shape. A rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 is exposed in a rear opening 212 of the neck body 21, and the rear end of an ink flow passage 232 formed in the pen core 23 opens to the rear end surface 231.
[0025] The barrel 3 has a barrel main body 31 having a substantially cylindrical shape, the rear end of which is closed by a tail cap 32, and inside the barrel main body 31, a cylindrical abutment member 33 with a bottom is disposed at the front end, and a cylindrical locking member 34 with a bottom is disposed at the rear end. The abutment member 33 is fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the barrel main body 31 by a known fixing means such as adhesive so that its bottom wall 331 is located at the front side, and the locking member 34 is fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the barrel main body 31 so that its bottom wall 341 is located at the rear side, and the space defined by the bottom wall 331 of the abutment member 33 and the bottom wall 341 of the locking member 34 serves as an ink reservoir 35. A core member 5 is disposed inside the ink reservoir 35.
[0026] 3, the core member 5 is a slit member having a certain length in the axial direction, and includes a substantially cylindrical front end portion 51, a substantially disk-shaped abutment portion 52 connected to the rear of the front end portion 51 and projecting in the radial direction, a substantially semi-cylindrical shaft portion 53 connected to the rear of the abutment portion 52, and a substantially cylindrical rear end portion 54 connected to the rear of the shaft portion 53. A groove portion 55 is formed in the core member 5 from the front end portion 51 toward the rear in the axial direction. The length of the core member 5 is not particularly limited, but may be long enough so that, for example, the rear end of the core member 5 is located toward the rear end side of the center of the ink reservoir 35.
[0027] A cylindrical portion 332 protruding forward is formed in the center of the bottom wall 331 of the abutment member 33 of the barrel 3, and an opening 333 is formed in the cylindrical portion 332, which communicates from the bottom wall 331 to the front end surface of the cylindrical portion 332. The core member 5 extends into the ink container 35 so that its front end portion 51 protrudes from the opening 333. With this configuration, the barrel 3 has the core member 5 extended into the ink container 35 so that its front end portion 51 protrudes from the opening 333 provided in the front portion of the barrel 3.
[0028] Furthermore, a generally cylindrical projection 342 projecting forward is formed in the center of the bottom wall 341 of the locking member 34 of the body 3, and a rear end 54 of the core member 5 is connected to the projection 342 by a coil spring 6 (elastic member). The coil spring 6 is an elastic member that is disposed inside the ink container 35 and biases the core member 5 forward. The rear end 54 of the core member 5 is attached to the body 3 via the coil spring 6, and the other parts of the core member 5 are not attached to the body 3, so that the core member 5 can move axially inside the ink container 35.
[0029] Only the rear end 54 of the core member 5 is attached to the body 3 via the coil spring 6, allowing it to move axially inside the ink container 35, but the abutment portion 52 of the core member 5 abuts against an abutted portion formed on the inner peripheral surface of the body 3, restricting the forward movement of the core member 5. Specifically, even if the core member 5 moves axially inside the ink container 35, the abutment portion 52 abuts against the bottom wall 331 of the abutment member 33, preventing the core member 5 from moving further forward.
[0030] As shown in FIG. 3, the core member 5 has a groove 55 formed from the front end 51 toward the rear in the axial direction. The groove 55 is formed continuously over the entire length of the core member 5 from the front end 51 to the abutment portion 52, the shaft portion 53, and the rear end 54. In this embodiment, a plate-shaped portion 551 extending in the axial direction is erected on the approximate central axis of the groove 55, so that two ink grooves 552 are formed on both sides of the plate-shaped portion 551. Since the groove 55 (ink groove 552) is formed continuously over the entire length of the core member 5, when refilling the ink, the ink easily flows from the ink bottle through the core member 5 into the ink storage portion 35. Note that the groove 55 (ink groove 552) does not necessarily have to be formed over the entire length of the core member 5, and may be, for example, more than half the length of the core member 5.
[0031] 4, at the front end 51 of the core member 5, a space 554 is formed between the plate-shaped portion 551 and the opening 553 of the groove portion 55. The space 554 functions as an air flow passage when ink is introduced into the ink reservoir 35 of the barrel 3 through the core member 5. In the core member 5, the width of the space 554 serving as the air flow passage is greater than the width of the ink groove 552 serving as the ink flow passage, thereby facilitating the introduction of ink into the ink reservoir 35 of the barrel 3 through the core member 5.
[0032] In addition, when the neck portion 2 is removed, there is a concern that ink may drip from the space 554, but as a countermeasure to this, in this embodiment, a protrusion 5512 that protrudes toward the space 554 is provided on the end surface 5511 of the plate-shaped portion 551 facing the opening 553 of the groove portion 55. By forming such a protrusion 5512, the ink remaining in the ink groove 552 is more likely to move to fill the space 554, and the ink fills the space 554, so that ink is prevented from dripping from the front end portion of the body portion 3 (the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 protruding from the opening 333) even when the neck portion 2 is removed.
[0033] It is preferable that the protruding portion 5512 is a columnar body having a certain length in the axial direction, and in particular, it is preferable that the protruding portion 5512 has a shape whose width decreases toward the opening 553 of the groove portion 55. As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the protruding portion 5512 in this embodiment has a triangular columnar shape, but is not limited to this, and may be, for example, a semi-cylindrical shape or a columnar body having a convex cross section.
[0034] A recess 512 communicating with the groove 55 is formed in the front end surface 511 of the core member 5. By forming the recess 512, the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 and the groove 55 of the body 3 communicate with each other via the recess 512 formed in the core member 5, so that when attaching the neck 2 to the body 3, it is not necessary to align the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 with the groove 55 of the body 3. In particular, by forming the recess 512 as a substantially disk-shaped recess spreading in the radial direction from the center of the front end surface 511 of the core member 5, the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 and the groove 55 of the body 3 always communicate with each other via the recess 512 even if, for example, the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 and the groove 55 of the body 3 are formed in the opposite directions.
[0035] In order to facilitate the flow of ink from the ink reservoir 35 to the pen core 23 via the core member 5, it is preferable that the ink flow passage narrows toward the front of the fountain pen 100. Specifically, it is preferable that the width of the ink flow passage 232 provided in the pen core 23 is narrower than the width of the ink groove 552 provided in the core member 5, and it is preferable that the axial length of the recess 512 that mediates communication between the ink groove 552 provided in the core member 5 and the ink flow passage 232 provided in the pen core 23 (i.e., the distance of the gap between the front end of the ink groove 552 and the rear end of the ink flow passage 232) is smaller than the width of the ink groove 552 provided in the core member 5 and larger than the width of the ink flow passage 232 provided in the pen core 23. FIG. 5 shows a partially enlarged contact point between the rear end of the pen core 23 and the front end of the core member 5. For example, if the width W1 of the ink flow passage 232 of a typical pen core 23 is 0.12-0.14 mm, the width W2 of the ink groove 552 of the core member 5 can be set to 0.2 mm and the axial length L of the recess 512 can be set to 0.15 mm, thereby ensuring smooth ink flow.
[0036] The following describes the movement of the core member 5 when attaching or detaching the neck portion 2 from the body portion 3. In this embodiment, the core member 5 is provided so as to be movable in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir 35 while being biased forward by the coil spring 6. This allows the core member 5 to be positioned appropriately both when the neck portion 2 is attached to the body portion 3 and when the neck portion 2 is detached from the body portion 3.
[0037] When the neck 2 is attached to the body 3 (see FIG. 1), the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 are in contact with each other, but because the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 protrudes slightly forward, the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 of the neck 2 pushes the core member 5 backward. At this time, the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5 does not abut against the abutted portion (bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3, and a gap is generated between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. As the core member 5 moves backward, a strong forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5 by the coil spring 6, and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 is pressed against the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 of the neck 2.
[0038] When the neck 2 is removed from the body 3 (see FIG. 2), a forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5 by the coil spring 6, and the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5 abuts against the abutted portion (bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3, so that no gap is created between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. In this state, if the body 3 is attached to an ink bottle 7 having a dedicated adapter 8 that can be attached to the front portion of the body 3 inserted into its mouth 71 (see FIG. 6), ink can be introduced from the ink bottle 7 to the front end surface 511 and groove 55 of the core member 5.
[0039] In the fountain pen 100 described above, a dedicated adapter 8 that can be attached to the front part of the body 3 is attached to the mouth 71 of the ink bottle 7, and when refilling the ink, the neck 2 of the fountain pen 100 is removed, the front part of the body 3 is attached to the adapter 8, and the ink bottle 7 is tilted so that it is on the upper side, so that ink from the ink bottle 7 flows through the core member 5 protruding from the front part of the body 3 and is introduced into the ink storage section 35. When writing with the fountain pen 100 with the neck 2 attached to the body 3, the ink flow passage 232 of the neck 2 communicates with the groove 55 of the body 3, so that ink is supplied from the ink storage section 35 to the ink flow passage 232 of the pen core 23 through the groove 55 of the core member 5. With such a fountain pen 100, the neck 2 with the pen body 22 and the pen core 23 inserted can be removed to refill the ink, so that ink can be refilled without soiling the pen tip.
[0040] <Second embodiment> A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The same reference numerals as those in the fountain pen 100 according to the first embodiment are used for components and parts having the same or substantially the same structure as those in the fountain pen 100, and detailed descriptions thereof will be omitted.
[0041] The fountain pen 100A according to the second embodiment is different from the fountain pen 100 according to the first embodiment in that the elastic member (coil spring) is disposed closer to the front of the body 3A. As shown in FIG. 7, the fountain pen 100A has a barrel 1A that is composed of a neck 2 into which a pen core 23 having an ink flow passage 232 is inserted, and a body 3A having an ink storage section 35 therein, and the neck 2 is detachably attached to the body 3A, for example, by screwing. When writing, the fountain pen 100A is used with the neck 2 attached to the body 3A, and when refilling ink, the neck 2 can be removed from the body 3A, as shown in FIG. 8. The front end 51 of the core member 5 is exposed from an opening 333 provided in the front part of the body 3A, and when the neck 2 is attached to the body 3A, the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 are configured to abut against each other.
[0042] A bottomed cylindrical locking member 34A is disposed on the rear end side inside the barrel body 31 of the barrel 3A. It is fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the barrel body 31 by known fixing means such as adhesion, and the space defined by the bottom wall 331 of the abutment member 33 and the bottom wall 341A of the locking member 34A serves as the ink storage section 35. Unlike the first embodiment, the bottom wall 341A of the locking member 34A is formed flat overall, and does not have a generally cylindrical protrusion protruding forward from the center.
[0043] An annular pressing member 36A is provided on the inner circumferential surface slightly toward the rear end of the abutment member 33 of the barrel 3A, and a coil spring 6 (elastic member) is arranged between the abutment portion 52 of the core member 5 and the pressing member 36A. As in the first embodiment, the core member 5 is arranged to be movable in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir 35 while being biased forward by the coil spring 6, so that the core member 5 can be positioned appropriately both when the neck portion 2 is attached to the barrel 3A and when the neck portion 2 is removed from the barrel 3A.
[0044] When the neck 2 is attached to the body 3A (see FIG. 7), the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 are in contact with each other, but because the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 protrudes slightly forward, the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 of the neck 2 pushes the core member 5 rearward. At this time, the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5 does not abut against the abutted portion (the bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3A, and a gap is generated between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. As the core member 5 moves rearward, a strong forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5 by the coil spring 6, and the front end surface 511 of the core member 5 is pressed against the rear end surface 231 of the pen core 23 of the neck 2.
[0045] When the neck 2 is removed from the body 3A (see FIG. 8), a forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5 by the coil spring 6, and the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5 abuts against the abutted portion (bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3A, so that no gap is created between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. In this state, if the body 3A is attached to an ink bottle 7 having a dedicated adapter 8 that can be attached to the front portion of the body 3A inserted into its mouth 71, ink can be introduced from the ink bottle 7 into the front end surface 511 and groove 55 of the core member 5.
[0046] <Third embodiment> The third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The same reference numerals as those in the fountain pen 100 according to the first embodiment are used for the components and parts having the same or substantially the same structure as those in the fountain pen 100, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0047] The fountain pen 100B according to the third embodiment is different from the fountain pen 100 in that the front end 51B of the core member 5B does not protrude from the opening 333 of the body 3. As shown in FIG. 9, the fountain pen 100B has a barrel 1B composed of a neck 2B into which a pen core 23B having an ink flow passage 232 is inserted, and a body 3 having an ink storage section 35 therein, and the neck 2B is detachably attached to the body 3, for example, by screwing. When writing, the fountain pen 100B is used with the neck 2B attached to the body 3, and when refilling ink, the neck 2B can be removed from the body 3, as shown in FIG. 10. The front end 51B of the core member 5B is exposed from the opening 333 provided in the front part of the body 3, and when the neck 2B is attached to the body 3, the rear end surface 231B of the pen core 23B and the front end surface 511B of the core member 5B are configured to abut against each other. Unlike the first embodiment, the front end 51B of the core member 5B does not protrude from the opening 333 of the body 3, and the front end surface 511B of the front end 51B of the core member 5B is located rearward of the opening edge of the opening 333.
[0048] The neck 2B is configured by inserting the pen body 22 and a pen core 23B, with the pen body 22 adjacent to its upper surface, into a front opening 211 formed in a neck body 21 having a substantially cylindrical shape. A rear end face 231B of the pen core 23B protrudes rearward from a rear opening 212 of the neck body 21, and the rear end of an ink flow passage 232 formed in the pen core 23B opens at the rear end face 231B.
[0049] As in the first embodiment, the core member 5B is biased forward by the coil spring 6 and is arranged to be able to move axially inside the ink storage section 35, so that the core member 5B can be positioned in the appropriate position both when the neck portion 2B is attached to the body portion 3 and when the neck portion 2B is removed from the body portion 3.
[0050] When the neck 2B is attached to the body 3 (see FIG. 9), the rear end surface 231B of the pen core 23B and the front end surface 511B of the core member 5B are in contact with each other, but because the rear end surface 231B of the pen core 23B protrudes slightly rearward, the rear end surface 231B of the pen core 23B of the neck 2B pushes the core member 5B rearward. At this time, the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5B does not abut against the abutted portion (the bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3, and a gap is generated between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. As the core member 5B moves rearward, a strong forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5B by the coil spring 6, and the front end surface 511B of the core member 5B is pressed against the rear end surface 231B of the pen core 23B of the neck 2B.
[0051] When the neck 2B is removed from the body 3 (see FIG. 10), a forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5B by the coil spring 6, and the abutting portion 52 of the core member 5B abuts against the abutted portion (bottom wall 331 of the abutting member 33) formed on the inner circumferential surface of the body 3, so that no gap is created between the abutting portion 52 and the abutting member 33. In this state, if the body 3 is attached to an ink bottle 7 having a dedicated adapter 8 that can be attached to the front portion of the body 3 inserted into its mouth 71, ink can be introduced from the ink bottle 7 into the front end surface 511B and groove 55 of the core member 5B.
[0052] Although the fountain pen according to the present invention has been described above with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment and various modifications are possible. For example, the number and shape of the ink grooves 552 in the groove portion 55 formed in the core member 5 are not particularly limited, and only one ink groove 552 may be formed, or three or more ink grooves 552 may be formed. In addition, the tail cap 32, the abutment member 33, and the locking member 34 may be integrally formed with the barrel main body 31, or a structure in which the core member 5 is fixed inside the barrel 3 may be adopted.
