Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a heat dissipation technique for an imaging device. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, there is a pan-tilt camera (hereinafter, PT camera) that is an imaging device in which a camera unit equipped with an image sensor and a group of lenses is supported by a base unit and an arm unit so that the camera unit can rotate in both the pan and tilt directions. In the case of a lens-interchangeable PT camera, the camera unit is composed of an imaging section equipped with an image sensor and an interchangeable lens section. When replacing the lens section, since the lens sections have different weights and centers of gravity, it is common to optimize the torque required for pan or tilt drive by moving the camera unit back and forth to adjust the center of gravity.
[0003] In such cameras, the heat generated by the image sensor in the imaging section is dissipated from the exterior of the imaging section. In recent years, the amount of heat generated by the image sensor has increased due to the increase in the number of pixels and the increase in frame rate, and the amount of heat dissipation is insufficient with natural cooling alone. On the other hand, if a heat dissipation fan is built into the camera unit to dissipate the heat from the image sensor, the torque required for pan-tilt driving of the camera unit increases due to the increase in weight. Alternatively, there is a problem that the overall size of the camera increases in order to ensure the driving angle of the camera unit due to the increase in volume.
[0004] As a countermeasure to this problem, a structure that dissipates heat from the image sensor by blowing air from outside the camera unit without having to incorporate a heat dissipation fan in the camera unit can be considered. Patent Document 1 discloses a technology in which a duct is extended from an arm unit and air is blown onto the camera unit from the side. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0005] [Patent Document 1] Patent No. 5178749 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] However, in the configuration described in Patent Document 1, the duct extending from the arm unit is fixed to the arm unit. Therefore, when the camera unit is tilted or when the camera unit is moved back and forth to adjust the center of gravity when changing lenses, the relative position of the camera unit to the duct changes. This causes a problem that air cannot be blown onto the camera unit.
[0007] To provide an imaging device capable of cooling a camera unit even when the camera unit is tilted or moved back and forth by adjusting the center of gravity when changing lenses. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the imaging device of the present invention comprises a camera unit having an image sensor built in, an arm unit supporting the camera unit so that the camera unit can rotate in a tilt direction, a heat dissipation surface provided on at least a part of the exterior of the camera unit and thermally connected to the image sensor by a heat conductive member, and a heat dissipation fan, wherein the heat dissipation fan is configured to exhaust air taken in through an air intake port provided in the arm unit from an exhaust port provided below the camera unit in the arm unit, and to direct the direction of the air exhausted from the exhaust port toward the heat dissipation surface by a louver provided in the exhaust port. Effect of the Invention
[0009] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an imaging device that can cool a camera unit even when the camera unit is tilted or when the camera unit moves back and forth by adjusting the center of gravity when changing lenses. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0011] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which an image pickup apparatus viewed from the imaged side in the normal pan-tilt position is defined as a front side.
[0012] Example 1 1 to 4 show an imaging device according to a first embodiment of the present invention, in which Fig. 1 is a front view, Fig. 2 is a right side view, Fig. 3 is a rear view, and Fig. 4 is a top view.
[0013] The imaging device is made up of a camera unit 100, an arm unit 200, and a base unit 300. The base unit 300 supports the entire imaging device on its bottom surface, and supports the arm unit 200 so that it can rotate about a pan rotation axis PA. The arm unit 200 also supports the camera unit 100 so that it can rotate about a tilt rotation axis TA. These allow the camera unit 100 to rotate in the pan direction and the tilt direction.
[0014] The camera unit 100 is composed of an imaging section 110 having an imaging element 110S therein, and a lens section 120 that can be detachably attached to the imaging section 110 via a lens mount. It is further composed of a camera unit support section 130 that connects the imaging section 110 and the arm unit 200. The imaging element 110S is disposed on the optical axis OA of the lens section 120 and perpendicular to the optical axis OA, and receives an optical image formed by the lens section 120 to generate an imaging signal that is the basis of image data. The imaging signal generated by the imaging element 110S is transmitted to a circuit board in the base unit via an electric cable that transmits signals through the arm unit.
[0015] The imaging unit 110 and the lens unit 120 are connected by a lens mount. The lens mount has a mechanical fixing function by using a bayonet structure, and a function of electrically connecting to the lens unit by using electrical contacts.
[0016] In camera unit 100, camera unit support part 130 extends from a side surface of imaging part 110, and camera unit support part 130 is supported rotatably about tilt rotation axis TA with respect to arm unit 200. Camera unit support part 130 is composed of tilt drive part 131 connected to arm unit 200, center of gravity adjustment rail 133 connected to imaging part 110, and tilt connection part 132 connecting tilt drive part 131 and center of gravity adjustment rail 133.
[0017] Tilt drive unit 131 is driven to rotate about tilt rotation axis TA by a bearing, a gear train, and a tilt drive motor (none of which are shown) provided inside arm unit 200. The bearing rotatably supports tilt drive unit 131, and the gear train transmits the driving force of the tilt drive motor to tilt drive unit 131. The gear train is a speed reduction mechanism, which may be a speed reduction mechanism using a belt, and the tilt drive motor and tilt drive unit 131 may be directly connected via a coupling or the like.
[0018] The center-of-gravity adjustment rail 133 is linearly connected to a center-of-gravity adjustment slider 112 provided on a side of an imaging unit exterior 111, which is the exterior of the imaging unit 110, and has a function of adjusting the center of gravity by moving the imaging unit 110 back and forth. After the center of gravity adjustment is performed, the center-of-gravity adjustment rail 133 and the center-of-gravity adjustment slider 112 are fixed together by frictional force, by screw fixing from the side, or the like.
[0019] Arm unit 200 is made up of arm section 210 that stands upright to support camera unit 100 from both side surfaces, and arm base section 220 that connects arm section 210 at its lower part and connects to base unit 300. Arm section 210 may be structured to support camera unit 100 from one of its side surfaces. Arm unit 200 also has air intake port 230 and exhaust port 240, and draws air into arm unit 200 from air intake port 230 and exhausts it from exhaust port 240.
[0020] The intake port is disposed, for example, on the front side of the arm base section 220, but the position is not limited thereto. The exhaust port 240 is disposed on the top surface side of the arm base section 220 so as to be located below the camera unit 100. The exhaust port 240 further includes a movable louver 241. The movable louver 241 is a louver for adjusting the direction of the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 in the front-rear direction, and rotates in the front-rear direction, for example, having a multiple blade shape. The material of the movable louver is, for example, a resin such as ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) or polycarbonate, or a metal such as aluminum or iron.
[0021] The base unit 300 is a pedestal that supports the arm unit 200 to be rotatable about the pan rotation axis PA, and is provided with terminals 310 on the rear side. The terminals 310 are, for example, a power terminal, a video terminal, and a network terminal. The location of the terminals 310 is not limited to the rear side, but it is desirable to provide them on the base unit 300, which is a pedestal, so that cables connected to the terminals 310 do not move due to the pan-tilt drive.
[0022] Next, the inside of the imaging device and the heat dissipation structure will be described with reference to FIG. 5. FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the imaging device according to the first embodiment of the present invention, taken along the line AA in FIG. 1. The base unit 300 includes a circuit board 330 therein. The circuit board 330 is connected to an electric cable, receives an imaging signal from the imaging element 110S, processes the image, and outputs the image to an external device from a video terminal of the terminals 310. The base unit 300 also includes a pan drive motor 320 and a pan drive gear train 321 connected to the pan drive motor 320. The pan drive motor 320 drives the pan drive unit 260 extending from the arm unit 200 via the pan drive gear train 321. The pan drive unit 260 is supported by a pan drive bearing 322 provided in the base unit 300 so as to be rotatable in the pan direction.
[0023] Imaging element 110S inside imaging unit 110 is connected to thermally conductive member 113 on the rear side, and thermally conductive member 113 is connected to heat dissipation surface 111A constituting at least a part of imaging unit exterior 111. Thermally conductive member 113 is, for example, a heat pipe, a graphite sheet, or an aluminum sheet metal member, and thermally conducts heat generated by imaging element 110S to heat dissipation surface 111A. In other words, heat dissipation surface 111A is thermally connected to imaging element 110S.
[0024] Heat dissipation surface 111A constitutes at least a part of the bottom, rear or side surface of imaging section 110. Heat dissipation surface 111A is desirably made of a material with high thermal conductivity such as aluminum or magnesium, and may be shaped like a fin to expand the surface area. As a result of adjusting the center of gravity of camera unit 100, the end on the rear side of imaging section exterior 111 is located rearward of pan rotation axis PA by center of gravity adjustment position L1.
[0025] The arm unit 200 has an internal arm unit exhaust fan 250 that draws in outside air from an intake port 230 and exhausts it from an exhaust port 240. The arm unit exhaust fan 250 is, for example, an axial fan or a sirocco fan. A movable louver 241 provided in the exhaust port 240 forms a louver angle A1 with respect to the horizontal direction on the rear side, and directs the exhaust air toward the heat dissipation surface 111A.
[0026] In this way, arm unit 200 is provided with arm unit exhaust fan 250, and movable louver 241 directs the direction of exhaust air toward heat dissipation surface 111A, forcing air cooling of heat dissipation surface 111A and dissipating heat from imaging element 110S via thermal conductive member 113. Also, by not providing a heat dissipation fan in camera unit 100, it is possible to prevent an increase in the weight of camera unit 100 and an increase in the torque required for tilt drive. Furthermore, it is possible to prevent an increase in the volume of camera unit 100 and an increase in the external shape of rotation for tilt drive. In this case, if heat dissipation surface 111A is made fin-shaped or the like to increase the surface area, the effect of forced air cooling can be enhanced.
[0027] Next, a case where the center of gravity and weight of the lens unit are different will be described with reference to Fig. 6. Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view corresponding to Fig. 5 when lens unit 120 is replaced with lens unit 120S that is smaller in front-to-back length and weight than lens unit 120. When the center of gravity of camera unit 100 is adjusted by replacing lens unit 120 with lens unit 120S, the center of gravity adjustment distance L2 from the pan rotation axis to the end on the rear side of imaging unit exterior 111 becomes L1>L2.
[0028] At this time, the louver angle A2 of the movable louver 241 is set to an angle such that A1 < A2, and the exhaust air direction from the exhaust port 240 is changed to face the heat dissipation surface 111A. It is desirable that the louver angle be automatically changed at the time of power-on or lens replacement, etc., according to the type of lens unit detected by the electrical contacts of the lens mount. Here, since the center-of-gravity adjustment of the camera unit 100 is only in the front-rear direction, the adjustment of the louver angle of the movable louver 241 may also be only in the front-rear direction. In this way, by changing the louver angle of the movable louver in the front-rear direction, the exhaust air direction can be directed toward the heat dissipation surface even when the lens unit is replaced.
[0029] Next, with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8, the louver angle and the heat dissipation structure in the case of performing tilt driving will be described. FIGS. 7 and 8 are cross-sectional views corresponding to FIG. 5 when the camera unit 100 is tilt-driven up and down about the tilt rotation axis TA. FIG. 7 shows the case where the camera unit is tilt-driven downward by the tilt rotation angle T3, and FIG. 8 shows the case where the camera unit is tilt-driven upward by the tilt rotation angle T4. Due to mechanical constraints such as an electrical cable for transmitting the imaging signal, the tilt rotation angle often has a limit in the rotatable angle. Assuming that the upward tilt rotation is the positive direction, the rotatable angle is, for example, from -30° to +90°.
[0030] When the camera unit is at the tilt rotation angle T3, that is, tilt-driven downward, the heat dissipation surface 111A moves upward. To follow this, the movable louver 241 becomes the louver angle A3. Also, when the camera unit is at the tilt rotation angle T4, that is, tilt-driven upward, the heat dissipation surface 111A moves downward. To follow this, the movable louver 241 becomes the louver angle A4. At this time, the louver angles A3 and A4 direct the exhaust air direction from the exhaust port 240 toward the heat dissipation surface 111A. Since the movement of the heat dissipation surface 111A accompanying the tilt driving is only in the circumferential direction around the tilt rotation axis TA, the adjustment of the louver angle of the movable louver 241 may be only in the front-rear direction.
[0031] In this way, by changing the louver angle of the movable louver so as to follow the position of the heat dissipation surface accompanying tilt driving, there is an effect of dissipating heat from the imaging element even during tilt driving.
[0032] Regarding the position of heat dissipation surface 111A accompanying pan driving, since the relative positions of camera unit 100 and arm unit 200 do not change during pan driving, the airflow direction of exhaust from exhaust port 240 follows the same regardless of pan driving.
[0033] The camera unit may have an integrated structure in which the imaging unit and the lens unit are not interchangeable. In this case, it is not necessary to adjust the center of gravity by moving the camera unit back and forth according to the lens unit, but adjusting the wind direction by the movable louver is useful for following the heat dissipation surface 111A when the camera unit is tilted.
[0034] Next, the structure of the movable louver will be described with reference to Fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view of the vicinity of the movable louver, showing a mechanism for changing the louver angle of the movable louver. Louver angle A5 shown in Fig. 9(a) is when the louver angle is small, and louver angle A6 shown in Fig. 9(b) is when the louver angle is large.
[0035] The movable louver 241 is rotatably fixed to the arm base portion 220 by a movable louver shaft 242 at the lower end, and rotates around the movable louver shaft 242 to change the louver angle. The movable louver 241 has, for example, a plurality of blade shapes, and each blade shape is connected to each other by a link mechanism 243. In addition, a movable louver gear 244 is connected to the movable louver shaft 242, and the movable louver gear 244 is driven by a louver drive motor 246 via a louver drive gear train 245 to change the louver angle. With such a movable louver structure, the louver angle can be changed to adjust the exhaust air direction.
[0036] Note that the mechanism for changing the louver angle of the movable louver is not limited to this, and may be, for example, manual, or a gear mechanism or link mechanism linked to tilt rotation, etc. In the case of manual, the louver angle is adjusted manually when adjusting the center of gravity of the camera unit or tilting it, and the louver angle is maintained by friction force, etc.
[0037] Example 2 In the imaging device of the second embodiment, an intake port is provided in the base unit, so that the imaging device has a heat dissipation flow path that dissipates heat from both the imaging element and the heat-generating components inside the base unit. Hereinafter, differences from the first embodiment will be mainly described with reference to Figs. 10 and 11.
[0038] FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view of an imaging device according to a second embodiment of the present invention, which corresponds to the section AA in FIG.
[0039] In the second embodiment, the direction of the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 provided in the arm unit 200 is adjusted by the movable louvers 241 so as to be directed toward the heat dissipation surface 111A, and the effect of dissipating heat from the image pickup element 110S of the camera unit 100 is similar. On the other hand, the arm unit 200 is not provided with an intake port, and instead, a base unit intake port 2340 is provided in the base unit 300. In addition, a base unit exhaust port 2350 is provided on the top surface of the base unit. The base unit exhaust port 2350 has an opening that communicates with the inside of the arm unit 200, and air is taken in from the base unit intake port 2340 by the arm unit exhaust fan 250 and exhausted from the exhaust port 240.
[0040] The base unit 300 includes a pan drive motor 322 therein, which generates heat when energized or driven by panning. A circuit board 2330 provided inside the base unit 300 includes a heat generating element 2331, such as an integrated circuit, to which a heat sink 2332 is attached. When the heat generating element 2331 is an integrated circuit, heat is generated by performing image processing or the like, and the heat is thermally conducted to the heat sink 2332. The pan drive motor 322 and the heat generating element 2331 are structured to dissipate heat into the air inside the base unit 300.
[0041] Here, by providing the base unit intake port 2340 and the base unit exhaust port 2350, the inside of the base unit 300 is ventilated by the arm unit exhaust fan 250, and heat is dissipated from the pan drive motor 322 and the heat generating element 2331. Also, by directing the direction of the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 toward the heat dissipation surface 111A by the movable louver 241, the effect of dissipating heat from the imaging element 110S is the same as in the first embodiment. However, by dissipating heat from the pan drive motor 322 and the heat generating element 2331, the temperature of the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 is higher than in the first embodiment. Therefore, in order to obtain the same effect of cooling the imaging element 110S as in the first embodiment, it is necessary to increase the flow rate of the arm unit exhaust fan 250 compared to the first embodiment.
[0042] Next, air communication between the arm unit and the base unit will be described with reference to Fig. 11. Fig. 11 is an exploded cross-sectional view of the arm unit 200 and the base unit 300 extracted from Fig. 10.
[0043] The arm unit 200 has an arm unit intake port 2221 on its bottom surface that contacts the base unit 300. The arm unit intake port 2221 is, for example, an opening that forms the entire bottom surface of the arm unit 200, or a concentric opening centered on the pan rotation axis PA and corresponding to the position of the base unit exhaust port 2350. By providing the arm unit intake port 2221 in this way, the arm unit intake port 2221 and the base unit exhaust port 2350 are always in communication regardless of the pan drive position.
[0044] In this way, air is drawn into the housing through the base unit intake port, an opening is provided that connects the arm unit and the base unit, and the air is exhausted through an exhaust port provided in the arm unit toward the heat dissipation surface. With this configuration, it is possible to dissipate heat from the heat-generating components in the base unit and the image sensor in the camera unit with a single fan.
[0045] The arm unit exhaust fan 250 may be provided inside the base unit 300. In this case, too, the effect of ventilating the inside of the base unit 300 and directing the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 to the heat dissipation surface 111A by the movable louvers 241 to dissipate heat from the imaging element 110S is similar.
[0046] Example 3 The imaging device of the third embodiment has a structure in which an intake fan is provided in the base unit to send air to the inside of the base unit and the inside of the arm unit. The following mainly describes the differences from the first and second embodiments with reference to FIG.
[0047] Fig. 12 is a cross-sectional view of an imaging device according to a third embodiment of the present invention, corresponding to the cross section AA in Fig. 1. In this embodiment, a base unit intake port 3340 is provided on the rear side of the base unit 300, and a base unit intake fan 3370 for drawing air into the housing is provided nearby. A base unit exhaust port 3350 is provided on the front side of the base unit 300, and a base unit communication opening 3351 is provided on the top side, which is the surface in contact with the arm unit 200.
[0048] In addition, an airflow direction plate 3360 is provided in the flow path between the base unit communication opening 3351 and the base unit intake fan 3370. This adjusts the ratio of the flow rate of the air sent from the base unit intake fan 3370 branching to the base unit exhaust port 3350 and the base unit communication opening 3351.
[0049] The location of base unit intake port 3340 is not limited to the rear surface as long as it does not interfere with the intake of air outside the housing. Similarly, the location of base unit exhaust port 3350 is not limited to the front surface as long as it does not interfere with the exhaust of air inside the housing.
[0050] The arm unit 200 does not have an exhaust fan inside, but instead introduces air sent from the base unit intake fan 3370 through the base unit communication opening 3351. The structure of the arm unit 200 is similar to that of the first and second embodiments, except that an exhaust fan is not provided. Therefore, the direction of the exhaust air from the exhaust port 240 is directed toward the heat dissipation surface 111A by the movable louver 241, and the effect of dissipating heat from the imaging element 110S is also similar.
[0051] Similarly to the second embodiment, the base unit 300 includes therein a circuit board 3330, a heat generating element 3331 mounted on the circuit board 3330, and a heat sink 3332 attached to the heat generating element 3331. Here, the heat generating element 3331 is disposed downstream of the airflow direction plate 3360. At this time, a part of the air taken in from the base unit intake fan 3340 ventilates the inside of the base unit 300, which has the effect of dissipating heat from the heat generating element 3331.
[0052] In this way, air is drawn into the housing by the base unit intake fan provided in the base unit, and the air is sent to the base unit and the arm unit, which has the effect of dissipating heat from the heat-generating components in the base unit, and also dissipating heat from the imaging element by sending the air from the exhaust port to the heat dissipation surface. At this time, the exhaust air from the exhaust port passes through a flow path different from that of the heat-generating components in the base unit, so the temperature of the exhaust air from the exhaust port is the same as in Example 1 and lower than in Example 2. However, since the flow paths branch into the base unit and the arm unit, in order to obtain a flow rate equivalent to that of Example 2 in each, the base unit intake fan is required to have higher air blowing performance than in Example 2.
[0053] Although the present invention has been described in detail based on the preferred embodiments, the present invention is not limited to these specific embodiments, and various forms within the scope of the gist of the present invention are also included in the present invention. Parts of the above-described embodiments may be combined as appropriate. [Explanation of symbols]
