Description

[Technical field]

[0001] [Related Applications] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202010028036.6, entitled “RESOURCE UNIT COMBINATION INDICATION METHOD AND COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS”, filed with the State Intellectual Property Administration of China on January 10, 2020, and is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.

[0002] [Technical field] The present application relates to the field of communications, and more particularly to a resource unit aggregation indication method and a communications device. [Background technology]

[0003] With the evolution of 802.11 standard for wireless local area network (WLAN) system, 802.11 standard needs to be further improved in resource allocation. In user frequency band resource allocation, user frequency band resources are assigned in the form of Resource Unit (RU). For example, one 20MHz channel in 802.11ax can contain multiple RUs in the form of 26-tone RU, 52-tone RU, or 106-tone RU. A tone refers to a subcarrier.

[0004] However, 802.11ax currently only supports allocation of a single RU to one or more users, but does not support allocation of multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs for use by one or more users, which reduces the flexibility of the system's RU allocation and causes low spectrum utilization of the system in the case of preamble puncturing. Summary of the Invention

[0005] The present application provides a resource unit combining indication method and communication device for supporting one or more users when using multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs to transmit data, and indicating the combining status of multiple RUs to the users, which improves the flexibility of RU allocation in the system and improves the spectrum utilization of the system.

[0067] The technical solution of the present application is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0068] The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application can be applied to various communication systems, such as wireless local area network (WLAN) systems. For example, the embodiments of the present application can be applied to any of 802.11ac / 802.11ax / 802.11b in the IEEE 802.11 series protocols currently used in WLAN or future Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 series protocols.

[0069] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a communication system applicable to an embodiment of the present application. The communication system shown in FIG. 1 may be a WLAN system or a wide area network system. The communication system in FIG. 1 may include one or more APs and one or more STAs. In FIG. 1, two APs (AP1 and AP2) and two user stations (STAs) (STA1 and STA2) are used as an example. Wireless communication can be performed between APs, between APs and STAs, and between STAs using various standards. The solution provided in the present application can be applied to communication between APs, communication between STAs, and communication between APs and STAs.

[0070] A user station (STA) may also be called a terminal, a subscriber device, an access terminal, a mobile station, a remote station, a remote terminal, a mobile device, a user terminal, a wireless communication device, a user agent, a user equipment, or a user equipment (UE). The station may be a wireless communication chip, a wireless sensor, or a wireless communication terminal. For example, a mobile phone supporting wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) communication function, a tablet computer supporting Wi-Fi communication function, a set-top box supporting Wi-Fi communication function, a smart TV supporting Wi-Fi communication function, a smart wearable device supporting Wi-Fi communication function, an in-vehicle communication device supporting Wi-Fi communication function, a computer supporting Wi-Fi communication function, a smart home device such as a smart camera, a smart water meter, or a sensor supporting Wi-Fi communication function, or an Internet of Vehicles device supporting Wi-Fi communication function, an Internet of Things device, a sensor, etc. Optionally, the station may support 802.11 standard devices in the current network system or a future network system.

[0071] The access point AP in this application is a device that is disposed in a wireless communication network and provides wireless communication functions for stations, and may be used as a hub of a WLAN. The access point AP may alternatively be a base station, a router, a gateway, a repeater, a communication server, a switch, a bridge, etc. The base station may include various forms of macro base stations, micro base stations, relay nodes, etc. For the sake of simplicity, devices that provide wireless communication functions and wireless communication services for stations STAs are collectively referred to as access points or APs.

[0072] In this embodiment of the present application, the AP may communicate with the STA by using a wireless local area network, and data of the STA is transmitted to the network side, or data is transmitted from the network side to the STA. The AP is also called a wireless access point, a hotspot, etc. The AP is an access point used by mobile users to access a wired network, and is mainly deployed in a home, a building, or a campus, with a typical coverage radius of tens of meters to hundreds of meters. Of course, the AP may alternatively be deployed outdoors. The AP is equivalent to a bridge that connects a wired network and a wireless network. The AP is mainly used to connect wireless network clients to each other and connect a wireless network to an Ethernet. Specifically, the AP may be a terminal device or a network device equipped with a Wi-Fi chip. Optionally, the AP may be a device that supports the 802.11 standard in the current network system or a future network system.

[0073] Specifically, wireless communication may be performed between the AP and the STA by using multi-users multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) technology. In this embodiment of the present application, each STA is equipped with one or more antennas. Each AP supports coordinated and / or joint transmission of multiple sites.

[0074] It should be further understood that Fig. 1 is merely a schematic diagram. The communication system may further include other network devices or terminal devices, for example, may further include wireless relay devices and wireless backhaul devices not shown in Fig. 1. The number of APs and STAs included in the communication system is not limited in this embodiment of the present application.

[0075] Furthermore, aspects or features of the present application may be implemented as a method, apparatus, or article of manufacture using standard programming and / or engineering techniques. The term "article of manufacture" as used herein encompasses a computer program accessible from any computer-readable component, carrier, or medium. For example, computer-readable media may include, but are not limited to, magnetic storage components (e.g., hard disks, floppy disks, or magnetic tapes), optical disks (e.g., compact discs (CDs), digital versatile discs (DVDs), etc.), smart cards, and flash memory components (e.g., erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM), cards, sticks, key drives, etc.). Furthermore, various storage media described herein may refer to one or more devices and / or other machine-readable media configured to store information. The term "machine-readable medium" may include, but is not limited to, wireless channels, and various other media capable of storing, containing, and / or carrying instructions and / or data.

[0076] In terms of bandwidth configurations, the bandwidth configurations currently supported by 802.11ax include 20MHz, 40MHz, 80MHz, 160MHz, and 80+80MHz. The difference between 160MHz and 80+80MHz is that 160MHz is a continuous frequency band, and the two 80MHz in 80+80MHz are separated. Configurations such as 320MHz are supported by 802.11be.

[0077] In user frequency band resource allocation, user frequency band resources are allocated in the form of resource units (RUs) rather than in the form of channels. One 20 MHz channel in 802.11ax can include multiple RUs in the form of 26-tone RUs, 52-tone RUs, or 106-tone RUs. A tone indicates a subcarrier. For example, a 26-tone RU indicates an RU that includes 26 subcarriers, and the 26-tone RU may be allocated to one user for use. Furthermore, an RU may alternatively be allocated to one or more users in the form of 242-tone, 484-tone, 996-tone, etc.

[0078] However, 802.11ax currently supports the allocation of a single RU to one or more users. For example, the number of MU-MIMO users supported by a resource unit of size 106 subcarriers or more (106-tone RU) may be eight or less. However, 802.11ax does not support the allocation of multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs to one or more users for use. This reduces the flexibility of the system's RU allocation and causes low spectrum utilization of the system in the case of preamble puncturing.

[0079] In view of this, the present application provides a resource unit combining indication method for supporting one or more users in transmitting data using multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs, and indicating the combining status of multiple RUs to a user, which improves the flexibility of RU allocation in the system and improves the spectrum utilization of the system.

[0080] In order to more clearly explain the method provided herein, a brief description of the RU allocation and indication method will be given first.

[0081] Currently, the Signal (SIG) field is mainly used to inform users of RU allocation. The SIG field is coded separately on each 20MHz channel. For example, the signal field may be the High Efficient Signal Field-B (HE-SIG-B), the Extremely High Throughput Signal Field (EHT-SIG), or the signal field of 802.11 in future network systems. The information structure of the SIG field on each 20MHz channel is shown in Figure 2.

[0082] As shown in FIG. 2, the HE-SIG field is divided into two parts. The first part is a common field, which includes 1 to N resource unit (RU) allocation subfields, a Center 26-Tone RU indication subfield that exists when the bandwidth is 80 MHz or more, a cyclic redundancy code (CRC) used for checking, and a tail subfield used for cyclic recovery. One resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to the allocation of a frequency domain resource unit of one 20 MHz channel, and one resource unit subfield indicates the size and position of one or more resource units included in the 20 MHz channel. The per-station field (which may be called a user specific field) has 1 to M user fields based on the resource unit allocation order. Typically, two of the M station fields form a group, and every two station fields are followed by a CRC field and a tail field. The last group may further include one or two station fields. In this application, the station fields are sometimes referred to as user fields.

[0083] A resource unit allocation subfield is a resource unit allocation index, which indicates the size and location of one or more resource units included in the 20 MHz channel. The order of the at least one station field corresponds to the order of resource unit allocation. Each station field indicates station information of an assigned STA in a RU included in the resource unit allocation. If the resource unit arrangement and combination indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield includes a resource unit including at least 106 subcarriers, the resource unit allocation index further indicates the number of MU-MIMO users supported by the resource unit including at least 106 subcarriers. The number of MU-MIMO users is not more than 8.

[0084] When the data packet bandwidth is 20 MHz, FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of a possible resource unit allocation method when the data packet bandwidth is 20 MHz. The entire 20 MHz bandwidth may include a total resource unit containing 242 subcarriers (242-tone RU), or may include various combinations of resource units containing 26 subcarriers (26-tone RU), resource units containing 52 subcarriers (52-tone RU), and resource units containing 106 subcarriers (106-tone RU). A "tone" can be understood as a subcarrier. In addition, there are guard subcarriers, null subcarriers, or direct current (DC) subcarriers in the RU for transmitting data.

[0085] When the data packet bandwidth is 40 MHz, FIG. 4 shows various resource unit allocation methods when the data packet bandwidth is 40 MHz. The full bandwidth is approximately equivalent to replicating the subcarrier distribution of the 20 MHz bandwidth. The full 40 MHz bandwidth can include a full resource unit (484-tone RU) containing 484 subcarriers, or can include various combinations of 26-tone RU, 52-tone RU, 106-tone RU, and 242-tone RU.

[0086] When the data packet bandwidth is 80 MHz, FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram of a possible resource unit allocation method when the data packet bandwidth is 80 MHz. The entire bandwidth is approximately equivalent to a replica of the subcarrier distribution of the 20 MHz bandwidth. The entire 80 MHz bandwidth may include a whole resource unit (996-tone RU) containing 996 subcarriers, or may include various combinations of 484-tone RU, 242-tone RU, 106-tone RU, 52-tone RU, and 26-tone RU. In addition, in the middle of the entire 80 MHz bandwidth, there is a Center 26-tone RU (Center 26-Tone RU) containing two 13-tone subunits.

[0087] Similarly, when the data packet bandwidth is 160 MHz, the full bandwidth is considered as a replica of the subcarrier distribution of two 80 MHz bandwidths. The full bandwidth can include 2×996-tone RUs (i.e., resource units containing 1992 subcarriers) or various combinations of 26-tone RUs, 52-tone RUs, 106-tone RUs, 242-tone RUs, 484-tone RUs, and 996-tone RUs. In addition, in the middle of the full 80 MHz bandwidth, there is a Center 26-tone RU that contains two 13-tone subunits.

[0088] In the above subcarrier distribution method, based on the 242-tone RU, the left 242-tone RU can be regarded as the lowest frequency of the data packet bandwidth, and the right 242-tone RU can be regarded as the highest frequency. FIG. 6 is used as an example. In this case, the 242-tone RUs may be sequentially numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4 from left to right. As another example, when the data packet bandwidth is 160 MHz, the 242-tone RUs may be sequentially numbered 1, 2, ..., and 8 from left to right. It should be understood that in the data field, the eight 242-tone RUs correspond one-to-one to the eight 20 MHz channels in ascending order of frequency. However, since there is a Center 26-tone RU, the eight 242-tone RUs and the eight 20 MHz channels do not completely overlap in frequency.

[0089] The concept of content channel (CC) is introduced in 802.11ax. A content channel can be understood as a content included in a SIG-B field. For example, a content channel may include at least one resource unit allocation subfield, multiple per-station fields, a CRC used for checking, and a tail subfield used for circular recovery. Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a content channel when the data packet bandwidth is 20 MHz. As shown in Figure 6, when the data packet bandwidth is only 20 MHz, the SIG-B field only includes one content channel. The content channel includes one resource unit allocation subfield indicating an indication of resource unit allocation in the range of the first 242-tone RU of the data part. One resource unit allocation subfield is one resource unit allocation index, which can be used to indicate all possible allocation methods of resource units in one 242-tone RU. Furthermore, the index indicates the number of users for performing SU / MU-MIMO transmission in RUs of size equal to or larger than 106-tone RUs (i.e., RUs including at least 106 subcarriers).

[0090] For example, assume that the resource unit allocation subfield is an 8-bit index. All possible allocation methods of resource units in one 242-tone RU can be indicated using the 8-bit index. Furthermore, the 8-bit index indicates the number of users for performing SU / MU-MIMO transmission in RUs whose size is equal to or larger than 106-tone RU (i.e., RUs containing at least 106 subcarriers). The resource unit index table of the 8-bit index is shown in Table 1. [Table 1]

[0091] In Table 1, the first column indicates an 8-bit index, and the middle columns #1 to #9 indicate different resource units. The number in the cell indicates the number of subcarriers included in the resource unit. For example, the index 00111y2y1y0 indicates that the whole 242-tone RU is divided into four RUs, namely, 52-tone RU, 52-tone RU, 26-tone RU and 106-tone RU. The number of entries in the third column indicates the number of entries allocated to the same resource unit. That is, different numbers of indexes correspond to the same resource unit arrangement method. In the index 00111y2y1y0, when the resource unit allocation method of the 242-tone RU is indicated, y2y1y0 further indicates the number of users to perform SU / MU-MIMO transmission included in the 106-tone RU, and the number corresponds to 1 to 8 users, so there are 8 entries. In other words, the 3-bit y2y1y0 indicates 1 to 8 users supported by the 106-tone RU. The eight entries are considered as eight independent rows in the table. The eight rows correspond to the same resource unit allocation method, and each row corresponds to a different number of users supported by the 106-tone RU. The 802.11ax standard specifies that MU-MIMO can be performed with RUs that contain at least 106 subcarriers. Thus, if there is a RU that contains at least 106 subcarriers in a column of Table 2, the number of entries is greater than 1. Correspondingly, the station information of the assigned STAs within the 242-tone RU is shown in the per-station field based on the order of resource allocation.

[0092] Most of the RU configurations shown in Table 1 are in the range of 242-tone RU. In addition, some RU configurations indicate that the RU belongs to 242-tone RU, 484-tone RU, or 996-tone RU. Each 8-bit resource unit allocation subfield signals the RU allocation status of the corresponding 20MHz channel range. It can be seen that a 20MHz bandwidth corresponds to one resource unit allocation subfield, a 40MHz bandwidth corresponds to two resource unit allocation subfields, an 80MHz bandwidth corresponds to four resource unit allocation subfields, a 160MHz bandwidth corresponds to eight resource unit allocation subfields, and a 320MHz bandwidth corresponds to 16 resource unit allocation subfields.

[0093] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of the structure of content channels when the data packet bandwidth is 40 MHz. As shown in Figure 7, when the data packet bandwidth is 40 MHz, there are two SIG-B content channels, namely CC1 and CC2. The first SIG-B channel, namely CC1, includes a resource unit allocation subfield and a corresponding per-station field within the first 242-tone RU. The second HE-SIG-B channel, namely CC2, includes a resource unit allocation subfield and a corresponding per-station field within the second 242-tone RU.

[0094] FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram of the structure of the content channel when the data packet bandwidth is 80 MHz. As shown in FIG. 8, when the data packet bandwidth is 80 MHz, there are still two CCs, and there are four channels in total. Therefore, based on the configuration of four channels, CC1, CC2, CC1, and CC2, the resource unit allocation information is shown in ascending order of frequency. CC1 includes a resource unit allocation subfield ranging from the first 242-tone RU to the third 242-tone RU, and a corresponding station-by-station field ranging from the first 242-tone RU to the third 242-tone RU. CC2 includes a resource unit allocation subfield ranging from the second 242-tone RU to the fourth 242-tone RU, and a corresponding station-by-station field ranging from the second 242-tone RU to the fourth 242-tone RU. In addition, each of the two CCs includes a Center 26-tone RU indication field of 80 MHz bandwidth to indicate whether the resource unit is used to transmit data.

[0095] Similarly, if the data packet bandwidth is 160 MHz, there are still two CCs, for a total of eight channels, which is equivalent to a further expansion based on the 80 MHz bandwidth.

[0096] In this embodiment of the present application, combining of different RUs may be supported, and the combining information of the RUs may be notified to the user equipment using a signal field. For example, the signal field may be a signal field B, an extremely high throughput signal (EHT-SIG) field, a signal field included in an EHT-SIG field, an EHT-SIG-B field, or another field included in a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU). This is not limited in the present application.

[0097] Below, several possible binding states of the RUs provided in this embodiment of the present application are described.

[0098] For simplicity, there are two types of RUs: small-size RU and large-size RU. The set of small RUs is {26, 52, 106}, and the set of large RUs is {242, 484, 996}. The numbers in the set indicate the number of subcarriers that form the RU.

[0099] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, the following RU combining rules may be set: 1: Small RUs and large RUs are not combined; 2: Small RUs do not bond across 20MHz channels, and 3: The binding of small RUs should be contiguous, or in some cases may be discontinuous instead.

[0100] In this embodiment of the present application, multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs are combined into a Multi-RU. Multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs forming a Multi-RU may be assigned to one or more users. Optionally, multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs may be defined in 802.11ax, and the number of combined RUs is not limited. For example, the combination of two small RUs in a 20 MHz channel in this embodiment of the present application can be understood as the combination of two small RUs into one Multi-RU.

[0101] Based on the above rules, the possible combination methods for small RUs in a 20 MHz channel are (52-tone RU+26-tone RU), (106-tone RU+26-tone RU), and (52-tone RU+106-tone RU). In other words, a 20 MHz channel may contain three types of Multi-RUs.

[0102] The first type Multi-RU is formed by combining one 52-tone RU and one 26-tone RU.

[0103] The second type Multi-RU is formed by combining one 106-tone RU and one 26-tone RU.

[0104] The third type Multi-RU is formed by combining one 52-tone RU and one 106-tone RU.

[0105] Furthermore, in this embodiment of the present application, during the allocation of the frequency domain resource units indicated by one RU allocation subfield, in the 20 MHz channel, any one of the above three types of Multi-RUs may exist, or a first type Multi-RU and a second type Multi-RU may exist. Furthermore, the number of times that the first type Multi-RU exists (or the number of times that the first type Multi-RU exists) is not limited. For example, there may be one or more first type Multi-RUs. For example, it is assumed that the frequency domain resource unit allocation method indicated by the RU allocation subfield includes two 52-tone RUs and at least two 26-tone RUs. The frequency domain resource unit allocation method includes two first type Multi-RUs. One first type Multi-RU is formed by combining one 52-tone RU and one 26-tone RU, and another first type Multi-RU is formed by combining another 52-tone RU and another 26-tone RU.

[0106] For example, Table 2 shows the possible coupling of small RUs in a 20 MHz channel. [Table 2]

[0107] In Table 2, A indicates that one first-type Multi-RU exists in a 20 MHz channel. That is, one 52-tone RU and one 26-tone RU are combined. B indicates that two first-type Multi-RUs exist in a 20 MHz channel. That is, one 52-tone RU and one 26-tone RU are combined, and another 52-tone RU and another 26-tone RU are combined. C indicates that three first-type Multi-RUs exist in a 20 MHz channel. That is, one 52-tone RU and one 26-tone RU are combined, another 52-tone RU and another 26-tone RU are combined, and yet another 52-tone RU and yet another 26-tone RU are combined. D indicates that one third-type Multi-RU exists in a 20 MHz channel. That is, one 106-tone RU and one 56-tone RU are combined. E indicates that there is one second-type Multi-RU in the 20 MHz channel, i.e., one 106-tone RU and one 26-tone RU are combined.

[0108] In the table, "or" indicates that only one of the corresponding A to E can appear in the same resource unit allocation method. For example, when the resource unit allocation method is 52-tone RU, 26-tone RU, 26-tone RU, 26-tone RU, 26-tone RU, 26-tone RU, 52-tone RU, it indicates that after the first 52-tone RU (A, or) and after the second 52-tone RU (B, or), in this resource unit allocation method, there may be the following case of Multi-RU: one first type Multi-RU is formed by combining either 26-tone RU and two 52-tone RUs. In other words, there is one first type Multi-RU, which is combining method A. Alternatively, one first-type Multi-RU is formed by combining a first 52-tone RU with any 26-tone RU, and another first-type Multi-RU is formed by combining a second 52-tone RU with any other 26-tone RU. In other words, there are two first-type Multi-RUs, which is combination B.

[0109] As another example, when the resource unit allocation method is 52-tone RU, 52-tone RU, 26-tone RU, and 106-tone RU, it is shown that there may be the following cases of Multi-RU in this resource unit allocation method after (A or) the first 52-tone RU and after (E or D or) the 106-tone RU: one first-type Multi-RU is formed by combining one 26-tone RU and any of two 52-tone RUs. That is, there is one first-type Multi-RU, which is combining method A. Alternatively, one 106-tone RU and any of two 52-tone RUs are combined to form one third-type Multi-RU. In other words, there is one third-type Multi-RU, which is combining method D. Alternatively, one 106-tone RU and one 26-tone RU are combined to form one second-type Multi-RU. That is, there is one second type Multi-RU, which is combining method E.

[0110] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, the locations of the 52-tone RU, 106-tone RU, and 26-tone RU in the above combining methods are not limited to the first type Multi-RU, the second type Multi-RU, and the third type Multi-RU. In other words, the above combining method A merely indicates that there is one first type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+26-tone RU) in the corresponding RU allocation, and the locations of one 26-tone RU and one 52-tone RU are not limited. The above combining method B merely indicates that there are two first type Multi-RUs (52-tone RU+26-tone RU) and (52-tone RU+26-tone RU), and the locations of the combined 26-tone RU and 52-tone RU are not limited. Similarly, the above combining method D merely indicates that there is one third type Multi-RU (106-tone RU + 52-tone RU) in the corresponding RU allocation, and that the locations of the one 106-tone RU and one 52-tone RU to be combined are not limited. The above combining method E merely indicates that there is one second type Multi-RU (106-tone RU + 26-tone RU) in the corresponding RU allocation, and that the locations of the one 106-tone RU and one 26-tone RU to be combined are not limited. In other words, the small-RU combining method shown in Table 2 is an unrestricted combining method, and the locations of the combined 106-tone RU, 26-tone RU, and 52-tone RU are not limited.

[0111] Optionally, in some possible implementations of the present application, when each combineable 52-tone RU or 106-tone RU is combined with a 26-tone RU, the following principle may be followed: a 52-tone RU or 106-tone RU may be combined with a 26-tone RU that is closest to the 52-tone RU or 106-tone RU within a 20 MHz channel. For example, a right 26-tone RU may be combined preferentially if the distances are the same, or a left 26-tone RU may be combined preferentially if the distances are the same. Alternatively, a left or right 26-tone RU may be combined preferentially within the range of a left 106-tone RU or a left 52-tone RU if the distances are the same, and a right or left 26-tone RU may be combined preferentially within the range of a right 106-tone RU or a right 52-tone RU if the distances are the same. For example, for a first type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+26-tone RU), a first type Multi-RU may be formed by combining a 26-tone RU and a 52-tone RU adjacent to a single 52-tone RU on the left or right. For a second type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+26-tone RU), a second type Multi-RU may be formed by combining a 26-tone RU and a 106-tone RU adjacent to a single 106-tone RU on the left or right. For a third type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+52-tone RU), a third type Multi-RU may be formed by combining a 52-tone RU and a 106-tone RU adjacent to a single 106-tone RU on the left or right. In other words, the above-mentioned combining method for small RUs is a limited combining method, and the positions of the 106-tone RUs, 26-tone RUs, and 52-tone RUs to be combined are limited to a certain extent.

[0112] For example, Table 3 shows another possible bonding method for small RUs in a 20 MHz channel according to this embodiment of the present application. [Table 3]

[0113] In Table 3, for the distribution of subcarriers in any row, Multi-RU can be obtained by combining numbered RUs (a) and Multi-RU can be obtained by combining numbered RUs (b). Furthermore, in the same RU allocation, RU combining of method (a) and RU combining of method (b) can coexist.

[0114] As another example, Table 4 shows another possible combining method of a 52-tone RU and a 106-tone RU in a 20 MHz channel according to this embodiment of the present application. [Table 4]

[0115] In Table 4, for the distribution of subcarriers in any row, a Multi-RU can be obtained by combining the numbered RU(c).

[0116] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, there may be other possible coupling methods of small RUs in a 20 MHz channel. Tables 2 to 4 are merely given as examples of some possible RU coupling methods. However, this embodiment of the present application should not impose any restrictions on the coupling methods of small RUs in a 20 MHz channel.

[0117] It should further be understood that Tables 3 and 4 show limited binding methods for small RUs.

[0118] For large RU combining, 80 MHz bandwidth, 160 MHz bandwidth, and 320 MHz bandwidth are used as illustrative examples separately as follows: Large RU combining across 242-tone RUs in this embodiment of the present application can also be understood as combining multiple large RUs into one Multi-RU. When a preamble is punctured on a channel, a large RU combining method may be used to combine multiple unpunctured RUs and assign the combined multiple RUs to one or more users. This improves the flexibility of RU allocation and spectrum utilization.

[0119] In the possible RU combining methods of the 80 MHz bandwidth shown in Table 5, the 80 MHz bandwidth corresponds to four resource unit allocation subfields, and one resource unit allocation subfield indicates one 242-tone RU. The four resource unit allocation subfields are sequentially arranged in two CCs in order. The positions in Table 5 indicate the consecutive positions of the four 242-tone RUs indicated by the four resource unit allocation subfields. As shown in Table 5, different combining methods separately indicate that the corresponding two large RUs are combined into one Multi-RU. In other words, there are five different types of Multi-RUs included in the 80 MHz bandwidth. The different combining methods in Table 5 separately indicate different Multi-RUs. The 80 MHz bandwidth can include two types of Multi-RUs: (242-tone RU+242-tone RU) and (484-tone RU+242-tone RU). [Table 5]

[0120] Since a 160 MHz bandwidth corresponds to eight resource unit allocation subfields and one resource unit allocation subfield represents one 242-tone RU, for a 160 MHz bandwidth, there can be the following types of Multi-RUs that include two or more large RUs: (996-tone RU+996-tone RU), (242-tone RU+484-tone RU), (242-tone RU+484-tone RU+484-tone RU), (242-tone RU+484-tone RU+242-tone RU), (484-tone RU+996-tone RU), and (996-tone RU+484-tone RU). Each pair of brackets indicates one type of Multi-RU.

[0121] For example, Table 6 shows possible RU combining methods for a 160 MHz bandwidth provided in this embodiment of the present application. The 160 MHz bandwidth corresponds to eight resource unit allocation subfields, and one resource unit allocation subfield indicates one 242-tone RU. The 160 MHz bandwidth shown in Table 6 can include two 996-tone RUs. The positions in Table 6 indicate the consecutive positions of the two 996-tone RUs. As shown in Table 6, different combining methods separately indicate that multiple corresponding large RUs are combined into one Multi-RU. [Table 6]

[0122] It should be understood that Table 6 is merely an example and should not impose any restrictions on the RU coupling method for the 160 MHz bandwidth.

[0123] The combining group in the 320 MHz bandwidth may be combining based on the aforementioned 160 MHz bandwidth, may be combining based on the aforementioned 80 MHz bandwidth, etc. For example, Table 7 shows the RU combining methods that may exist in the 320 MHz bandwidth according to this embodiment of the present application. As shown in Table 7, different combining methods separately indicate that two corresponding large RUs are combined into one Multi-RU. [Table 7]

[0124] It should be understood that Tables 5 to 7 are merely some examples of the combination method of large RUs across 242-tone RUs in this embodiment of the present application, and no restrictions should be imposed on the combination method of large RUs across 242-tone RUs in this embodiment of the present application. Also, Tables 5 to 7 only show limited combination methods of large RUs, and the number, positions, combinations, etc. of large RUs that need to be combined are all limited to a certain extent. In other words, the combinations and positions, etc. of large RUs that can be combined are predefined.

[0125] The following describes in detail the resource unit combining indication method provided in the present application with reference to Fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a schematic flowchart of a resource unit combining indication method 200 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 200 can be applied to the scenario shown in Fig. 1. Of course, the method can also be applied to other communication scenarios or communication systems, which is not limited to this embodiment of the present application.

[0126] In the following description, the method in the embodiment is described using an example in which a transmitting device and a receiving device are used as execution subjects to execute the method in the embodiment. The transmitting device can be the aforementioned AP or STA, and the receiving device can be the aforementioned AP or STA. As an example, but not limited to, the method can be executed by a chip applied to the transmitting device and the receiving device.

[0127] As shown in Fig. 9, the method 200 may include steps S210 and S220. Hereinafter, the steps of the method 200 will be described in detail with reference to Fig. 9. The method 200 includes the following steps.

[0128] S210: The transmitting device determines a PPDU, where the PPDU includes a signal field, the signal field includes at least one resource unit allocation subfield and a combination indication corresponding to the at least one resource unit allocation subfield, one resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to the allocation of frequency domain resource units of one 20MHz channel, one resource unit subfield indicates the size and position of a plurality of resource units included in the 20MHz channel, the signal field further includes a combination indication, and the combination indication indicates the combination information of the resource units indicated by the at least one resource unit allocation subfield. In other words, the signal field includes a resource unit allocation subfield and a combination indication corresponding to the resource unit allocation subfield, the resource unit allocation subfield indicates a plurality of resource units, and the combination indication indicates the combination information of the plurality of resource units.

[0129] A resource unit allocation subfield can indicate multiple resource units included in the frequency domain of a 20 MHz channel, and the multiple resource units are all small-size RUs. In this case, the combining indication corresponding to a resource unit allocation subfield indicates the combining status of the small-size RUs in the frequency domain of a 20 MHz channel.

[0130] S220: The sending device sends a PPDU, and the receiving device receives the PPDU accordingly.

[0131] Specifically, in S210, when the transmitting device needs to transmit data to the receiving device, the transmitting device transmits a PPDU to the receiving device, and the PPDU includes a signal field (SIG). Optionally, the signal field may be the aforementioned EHT-SIG-B field. In addition to the signal field, the PPDU may further include an EHT-SIG-A field, a data field, etc. The signal field includes at least one resource unit allocation subfield (RU allocation subfield). The signal field may further include at least one station field (User Field). One resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to the allocation of frequency domain resource units of a 20 MHz channel, and one resource unit subfield indicates the size and position of multiple resource units included in the 20 MHz channel. The order of the at least one station field corresponds to the order of resource unit allocation. Each station field indicates the station information of an assigned STA in a RU included in the resource unit allocation. In addition, the signal field further includes a combining indication (or may be referred to as a combining indication bit), and the combining indication indicates combining information of the resource units indicated by at least one resource unit allocation subfield. In S220, after receiving the PPDU, the receiving device may determine combining information of the RUs based on the signal field and the indication bit to determine multiple RUs corresponding to the receiving device. This improves the flexibility of RU allocation in the system and improves the spectrum utilization of the system.

[0132] 10 is a schematic interaction diagram of another example of a resource unit binding indication method 300 according to the present application. The method 300 may include steps S310 and S320. The steps of the method 300 are described in detail below with reference to FIG. 10. The method 300 includes the following steps:

[0133] S310: The transmitting device generates a PPDU, where the PPDU includes a signal field, where the signal field includes a plurality of resource unit allocation subfields and a combining indication corresponding to the plurality of resource unit allocation subfields, where one resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to an allocation of a frequency domain resource unit of one 20MHz channel, where one resource unit subfield indicates a size and a position of one resource unit included in the 20MHz channel, where the one resource unit is a large-size RU, which is a 242-tone RU, a 484-tone RU, or a 996-tone RU. The plurality of resource unit allocation subfields indicate a plurality of resource units. The signal field further includes combining indications, where the plurality of combining indications indicate combining information of the plurality of resource units, where one combining indication corresponds to the RU indicated by the one resource unit allocation subfield. That is, the plurality of combining indications indicate combining information of the plurality of large-size RUs. The signal field includes multiple resource unit allocation subfields and multiple combining indications, where the multiple resource unit allocation subfields indicate multiple resource units, and the multiple combining indications indicate combining information of the multiple resource units, where one combining indication corresponds to an RU indicated by one resource unit allocation subfield, and where one resource unit is a 242-tone RU, a 484-tone RU, or a 996-tone RU.

[0134] S320: The sending device sends a PPDU, and the receiving device receives the PPDU accordingly.

[0135] Specifically, in S310, when the transmitting device needs to transmit data to the receiving device, the transmitting device transmits a PPDU to the receiving device. Here, the PPDU includes a signal field (SIG). One resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to the allocation of frequency domain resource units of one 20 MHz channel, and one resource unit subfield indicates the size and location of one large RU included in the 20 MHz channel. The large RU is a 242-tone RU, a 484-tone RU, or a 996-tone RU, and the order of the at least one station field corresponds to the allocation order of the resource units. Each station field indicates station information of an assigned STA in the RU included in the resource unit allocation. In addition, the signal field further includes a combining indication (or may be referred to as a combining indication bit), which indicates combining information of multiple resource units indicated by the multiple resource unit allocation subfields. In other words, the combining indication indicates combining of large RUs across 242-tone RUs. In S320, after receiving the PPDU, the receiving device may determine combining information of the large RUs based on the signal field and the indication bit, and determine multiple large RUs corresponding to the receiving device. This improves the flexibility of RU allocation in the system and improves spectrum utilization in the system.

[0136] This will be explained separately below.

[0137] In some possible implementations of the present application, each resource unit allocation subfield may be extended. For example, the extension may be performed after an existing resource unit allocation subfield, and bits may be added after any one or more existing resource unit allocation subfields to indicate the combining information of the resource units indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield. For example, each resource unit allocation subfield includes a combining indication. The combining indication indicates the combining information of the resource units indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield.

[0138] For example, as shown in Table 1, in this embodiment of the present application, the extension may be performed after the 8-bit index resource unit allocation subfield in Table 1 to extend the 8-bit index resource unit allocation subfield to 9 bits, 10 bits, or more bits. One or more extension bits indicate a combining status of the resource units indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield. That is, the one or more extension bits are a combining indication. The combining indication may indicate the combining of the resource units indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield, including combining of small RUs within a 242-tone RU and combining of large RUs across 242-tone RUs.

[0139] For combining small RUs in a 242-tone RU, it can be seen from the above analysis that a maximum of three Multi-RUs exist in one 20 MHz channel. The three Multi-RUs are three first-type Multi-RUs. That is, three Multi-RUs exist in the form of (52-tone RU+26-tone RU). Therefore, two bits may be used to indicate 0 to 3 Multi-RUs. In this way, the 8-bit index resource unit allocation subfield in Table 1 may be extended to 10 bits, where the 9th and 10th bits are the aforementioned combining indication.

[0140] For example, in a possible implementation, one resource unit allocation subfield in the multiple resource unit allocation subfields corresponds to the allocation of frequency domain resource units of one 20 MHz channel and the binding status of the resource units. One resource unit allocation subfield indicates the size and position of one or more resource units included in the 20 MHz channel and the binding status of the resource units. The resource unit allocation subfield includes multiple bits. Some bits indicate the allocation of frequency domain resource units of the 20 MHz channel, i.e., the size and position of one or more resource units. Other bits indicate the binding status of the frequency domain resource units of the 20 MHz channel. For example, the resource unit allocation subfield includes 10 bits, where the first 8 bits indicate the resource unit allocation and the last 2 bits indicate the binding status of the frequency domain resource units in the resource unit allocation. Optionally, for the resource unit allocation method indicated by the first 8 bits, refer to the design of HE-SIG-B of 802.11ax, e.g., Table 1. Of course, if the 20MHz channel includes an RU with at least 106 tones, some of the 8 bits may further indicate the number of users performing MU-MIMO transmission in the RU with at least 106 tones, since the RU with at least 106 tones may be used for MU-MIMO transmission. The last two bits may also be called a combining indication, and when the combining indication bits are set to 00, 01, 10, or 11, they may indicate different combining states. For example, when the two bits are set to 00, it indicates that there is no Multi-RU combining in the resource unit allocation method, i.e., there is no Multi-RU. When the two bits are set to 01, it indicates that there is one Multi-RU in the resource unit allocation method. One Multi-RU may be a first type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+26-tone RU), a second type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+26-tone RU), or a third type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+106-tone RU).When the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that there are two Multi-RUs in the resource unit allocation method. The two Multi-RUs may be two first-type Multi-RUs, or one first-type Multi-RU and one second-type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+26-tone RU). When the two bits are set to 11, it indicates that there are three Multi-RUs in the resource unit allocation method. All three Multi-RUs are first-type Multi-RUs (52-tone RU+26-tone RU).

[0141] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, for the Multi-RU indicated by the combining indication, the position of the small RU forming the Multi-RU may be predefined. For example, when the two bits are set to 01, it indicates that when the first type Multi-RU is indicated, the first 52-tone RU is combined from left to right and the first 26-tone RU is combined to the left or right of the 52-tone RU (or the 26-tone RU adjacent to the 52-tone RU) to obtain the first type Multi-RU in a certain resource unit allocation method by default. Similarly, when the second type Multi-RU is indicated, the first 106-tone RU is combined from left to right and the first 26-tone RU is combined to the left or right of the 106-tone RU (or the 26-tone RU adjacent to the 106-tone RU) to obtain the second type Multi-RU in a certain resource unit allocation method by default. When a third type Multi-RU is indicated, by default, it indicates that in a resource unit allocation method, the first 106-tone RU is combined from left to right, and the first 52-tone RU is combined to the left or right of the 106-tone RU (or the 52-tone RU adjacent to the first 106-tone RU) to obtain the third type Multi-RU.

[0142] When the two bits are set to 10, if two first-type Multi-RUs are indicated, the positions of the 52-tone RU and the 26-tone RU included in each first-type Multi-RU may be predefined. When the two bits are set to 10, if one first-type Multi-RU and one second-type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+26-tone RU) are indicated, the positions of the RUs included in the first-type Multi-RU and the second-type Multi-RU may also be determined based on a predetermined rule. For example, the 106-tone RU and the 52-tone RU are combined with the 26-tone RU closest to the 106-tone RU and the 26-tone RU closest to the 52-tone RU, respectively, to obtain one first-type Multi-RU and one second-type Multi-RU. When the two bits are set to 11, the positions of the 26-tone RU included in each of the three first-type Multi-RUs may be determined based on the above-mentioned predetermined rule.

[0143] In other words, in this embodiment of the present application, each of the three types of Multi-RUs mentioned above may further indicate the positional relationship between the two included small RUs. Specifically, the positions of the two small RUs included in the different types of Multi-RUs may be further determined based on the different types of Multi-RUs. In other words, in this embodiment of the present application, in addition to indicating the number of Multi-RUs in the resource unit allocation method, the combining indication may further indicate the positional relationship between the two small RUs included in each Multi-RU. That is, it indicates a limited combining method of small RUs.

[0144] In some other possible implementations of the present application, when the two bits are set to 00, it indicates that there is no Multi-RU combination in the resource unit allocation method, i.e., there is no Multi-RU. When the two bits are set to another value, it indicates that there is one 52-tone RU in the resource unit allocation method. For example, when the two bits are set to 01, it indicates that the first 52-tone RU or the first 106-tone RU from the left is combined with an adjacent or nearby 26-tone RU in the resource unit allocation method. When the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that the second 52-tone RU from the left is combined with an adjacent or nearby 26-tone RU. When the two bits are set to 11, it indicates that the third 52-tone RU from the left is combined with an adjacent or nearby 26-tone RU. A 26-tone RU adjacent to or nearby a 52-tone RU or a 106-tone RU can be understood as the first 26-tone RU to the left or right of the 52-tone RU or the 106-tone RU. In other words, in addition to indicating the number of Multi-RUs in the resource unit allocation method, the combining indication can further indicate the positional relationship between the two small RUs included in each Multi-RU.

[0145] For the combination of small RUs in a 242-tone RU, the combination indication may alternatively be 1 bit. For example, the resource unit allocation subfield includes 9 bits, with the first 8 bits indicating resource unit allocation, and the last bit indicating the combination status of resource units in the frequency domain of one 20 MHz channel. Specifically, the resource unit allocation subfield of the 8-bit index is extended to 9 bits. Here, the 9th bit is the above-mentioned combination indication. In this case, for example, when 1 bit is set to 0, it indicates that there is no Multi-RU combination in the resource unit allocation method, that is, there is no Multi-RU. When 1 bit is set to 1, it indicates that there is one Multi-RU in the resource unit allocation method. One Multi-RU may be a first type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+26-tone RU), a second type Multi-RU (106-tone RU+26-tone RU), or a third type Multi-RU (52-tone RU+106-tone RU). The positions of two RUs included in one Multi-RU may be predetermined. For example, the first 52-tone RU or the first 106-tone RU from the left may be combined with the 26-tone RU adjacent (or closest) to the first 52-tone RU or the first 106-tone RU. In other words, in addition to indicating the number of Multi-RUs in the resource unit allocation method, the combining indication may further indicate the positional relationship between the two small RUs included in each Multi-RU.

[0146] For large RU aggregation across 242-tone RUs, the 2-bit aggregation indication may alternatively indicate three different Multi-RUs, where each Multi-RU contains two or more large RUs. For example, the resource unit allocation subfield of the 8-bit index is extended to 10 bits, where the first 8 bits indicate the resource unit size, position, etc., the last 2 bits indicate the aggregation status of the resource unit, and the 9th and 10th bits are the aggregation indication mentioned above.

[0147] In a possible implementation, when the two bits are set to 00, it indicates that the large RU indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield is not combined, i.e., not combined with another large RU. When the two bits are set to 01, 10, or 11, it indicates a different combining type from the combining type of the large RU indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield. For example, in Table 8, examples of combining methods of large RUs are shown by different values of the combining indication. [Table 8]

[0148] Each RU in the first row of Table 8 indicates a large RU (i.e., a bandwidth RU allocation method) indicated by one resource unit allocation subfield. The signal field shall include a resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to the large RU shown in Table 8. For each resource unit combining indication, if the combining indication bit is set to 00, it indicates that the large RUs indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield are not combined. If the combining indication bit is set to 01, it indicates one type of RU combining, and the large RUs corresponding to the value 01 of the combining indication bit are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. If the combining indication bit is set to 11, it indicates one type of combining, and the large RUs corresponding to the value 11 of the combining indication bit are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. If the combining indication bit is set to 10, it also indicates one type of combining, and the large RUs corresponding to the value 10 of the combining indication bit are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. Therefore, there are two Multi-RUs as shown in Table 8. One Multi-RU is (242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU), and the other Multi-RU is (484-tone RU+242-tone RU). In other words, the resource units corresponding to another combining indication with the same value of the combining indication bit are combined with the resource units corresponding to the combining indication to obtain one Multi-RU. It should be understood that in Table 8, one 996-tone RU corresponds to four RU allocation subfields, and the values of the combining indications in all RU allocation subfields are the same, e.g., all are 11 or 01. One 484-tone RU corresponds to two RU allocation subfields, and the values of the combining indications in all RU allocation subfields are the same, e.g., both are 11.

[0149] Furthermore, when different values of the 2-bit combining indication indicate different types of large RUs, if a combining indication corresponding to a small RU appears among combining indications corresponding to large RUs, it is understood that the combining indication corresponding to the small RU does not affect the combining of the large RUs. In other words, when a combining indication corresponding to a small RU appears among large RUs, the combining indication corresponding to the small RU may be skipped or not read.

[0150] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, for the combining of large RUs across 242-tone RUs, the number of large RUs that can be combined may be predefined or configured. Furthermore, the combining group, combining method, etc. of the large RUs may be predefined and configured. When the 2-bit combining indication indicates large RU combining, it may indicate that more (e.g., 3 or 5) large RUs are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. In other words, the combining indication may further indicate a predetermined combining method of multiple large RUs, that is, the combining indication indicates a limited combining method of the large RUs. The positions and order of the large RUs to be combined are limited to a certain extent. For example, multiple combining groups of large RUs that can be combined may be predefined, and the combining indication may indicate any one of the multiple combining groups of the large RUs.

[0151] In another possible implementation, different values of the two-bit combining indication may alternatively indicate different orders of large RUs during resource unit combining. For example, when the two bits are set to 00, it indicates that the large RUs indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield are not combined, and when the two bits are set to 01, 10, 11, it indicates that the large RUs that need to be combined are placed separately at the beginning, middle, and end of the combining position. For example, Table 9 shows an example of RU combining methods indicated by the values of the combining indication bits. [Table 9]

[0152] In the example shown in Table 9, since the bit value "00" is between the bit value "01" and the bit value "10", the large RU corresponding to the bit value "00" may be skipped, and the bit values "10" and "11" are read in succession. If the bit value "11" is read, the large RU corresponding to the bit value "11" is the last large RU included in the Multi-RU. The large RU corresponding to the bit value "10" is the first large RU included in the Multi-RU. In the example shown in Table 9, it may be determined that there are two Multi-RUs. One Multi-RU is (242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU), and the other Multi-RU is (484-tone RU+242-tone RU). It should be understood that in Table 9, one 996-tone RU corresponds to four RU allocation subfields, and the values of the combining indications in all RU allocation subfields are the same, for example, all are 11 or 00.

[0153] Furthermore, by using the above method, it may be shown that one Multi-RU includes multiple (eg, two, four, or more) large RUs.

[0154] Furthermore, it should be understood that during resource unit combining, when different values of the 2-bit combining indication indicate different orders of large RUs, if a combining indication corresponding to a small RU appears among large RUs, the combining indication corresponding to the small RU does not affect the combining of the large RU, that is, when a combining indication corresponding to a small RU appears among large RUs, the combining indication corresponding to the small RU may be skipped or not read.

[0155] Optionally, in the aggregation of large RUs across 242-tone RUs, a 1-bit aggregation indication may alternatively indicate multiple large RUs included in one Multi-RU. That is, the resource unit allocation subfield of the 8-bit index is extended to 9 bits, with the first 8 bits indicating the size, position, etc. of the resource unit, and the last bit indicating the aggregation status of the resource unit. The 9th bit is the aforementioned aggregation indication. For example, when the aggregation indication is set to 0, it indicates that the large RU indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield is not aggregated, i.e., is not aggregated with other large RUs. When the aggregation indication bit is set to 1, it indicates that the large RU indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield is aggregated. Of course, alternatively, when the aggregation indication is set to 1, it indicates that the large RU indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield is not aggregated, and when the aggregation indication is set to 0, it indicates that the large RU indicated in the resource unit allocation subfield is aggregated. In this case, some restrictions need to be imposed. For example, if one Multi-RU is (242-tone RU+484-tone RU), the Multi-RU should be within an 80 MHz bandwidth, the multiple RUs included in the Multi-RU are a predetermined combination, and the read order of the multiple RUs is from left to right, etc. Specifically, the combination instruction may further indicate the number of multiple large RUs included in each Multi-RU and the positional relationship between the multiple large RUs. In other words, the combination instruction may further indicate a predetermined combination method of multiple large RUs.

[0156] It should be understood that the combining instruction of one or more bits included in each resource unit allocation subfield may indicate the above-mentioned restricted combining method of the large RU. Specifically, the number, locations, and combinations of the large RUs that need to be combined are restricted to a certain extent. For example, multiple combining groups of the large RUs that can be combined may be predefined, and the combining instruction may indicate any one of the multiple combining groups of the large RUs.

[0157] For example, in the combining method shown in Table 5, in different combining methods in which RUs in an 80 MHz bandwidth are combined, only the last indication bit of the resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to the 242-tone RU and the 484-tone RU that need to be combined needs to be set to 1. In this way, the combining methods of large RUs in an 80 MHz bandwidth can be indicated to obtain different Multi-RUs.

[0158] For example, when the bandwidth is 160 MHz, as shown in Table 6, the first (first column) 996-tone RU shown in Table 6 may be a primary 996-tone RU, i.e., a primary 80 MHz bandwidth, and the second (second column) 996-tone RU may be a secondary 996-tone RU, i.e., a secondary 80 MHz bandwidth. If the 996-tone RU that needs to be combined is on the secondary 80 MHz bandwidth, after reading the RU distribution on the primary 80 MHz bandwidth, the receiving device needs to read the combining indication in the resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to the secondary 996-tone RU. If the combining indication bit is set to 0, the secondary 996-tone RU is not combined. If the combining indication bit is set to 1, the secondary 996-tone RU is combined. Two different Multi-RUs: a Multi-RU containing (242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU) and a Multi-RU containing (242-tone RU+242-tone RU) can be distinguished by using this method.

[0159] In addition, in a Multi-RU including (484 tone RU + 242 tone RU + 242 tone RU + 484 tone RU), since the locations of the multiple large RUs are different, only the combining indication of the resource unit allocation subfields corresponding to the multiple large RUs needs to be set to 1.

[0160] When the bandwidth is 320 MHz, the combining method of RUs in the 320 MHz bandwidth may be a combining method based on 996-tone RUs. For example, upon reading that the combining indication bits in the resource unit allocation subfields corresponding to three 996-tone RUs are all set to 1, the receiving device may determine that the three 996-tone RUs need to be combined to obtain a Multi-RU including (996-tone RU+996-tone RU+996-tone RU).

[0161] In some other possible implementations of the present application, in addition to adding a combining indication after each resource unit allocation subfield, a combining indication corresponding to each resource unit allocation subfield may be extracted together to indicate the combining information of the resource units indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield. In other words, there is a multi-resource unit allocation field in the signal field, and the multi-resource unit allocation field includes a combining indication corresponding to each resource unit allocation subfield. For example, FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram of an example of a signal field according to the present application. The signal field further includes a multi-resource unit allocation field, and the multi-resource unit allocation field includes a combining indication corresponding to each resource unit allocation subfield. The relative position of the combining indication in the multi-resource unit allocation field is the same as the relative position of the resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to the combining indication in the multiple resource unit allocation subfields. The multi-resource unit allocation field indicates the combining status of the RUs indicated by at least one resource unit allocation subfield included in the signal field. The specific indication method is the same as the above indication method of adding an indication bit after each resource unit allocation subfield.

[0162] For example, for a 320 MHz bandwidth, the length of the combining instruction included in the multi-resource unit allocation field may be 16 bits or 32 bits.

[0163] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, a multi-resource unit allocation subfield may be included in the Common field.

[0164] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, the multi-resource unit allocation field newly added to the signal field may have two configuration forms. Figure 12 is a schematic diagram of a multi-resource unit allocation field according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 12, the multi-resource unit allocation field is identical to a common field and a user specific field, and is divided into multiple CCs. Each CC carries a part of the content of the multi-resource unit allocation field. Figure 13 is a schematic diagram of another multi-resource unit allocation field according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 13, the allocation field of the multi-resource unit is not divided, and the content that is completely repeated in all 20 MHz channels is used. In other words, the multi-resource unit allocation field of each 20 MHz channel is the same.

[0165] Optionally, in some possible implementations of the present application, the resource unit allocation subfield may not need to be extended, in addition to alternatively extending the aforementioned resource unit allocation subfield and indicating the resource unit combination information by a combination indication included in the extended resource unit allocation subfield. Instead, the reservation entry indicates the resource unit combination information. For example, as shown in Table 1, multiple reserved 8-bit indexes may indicate resource unit combination information corresponding to different resource unit allocation methods.

[0166] Optionally, in some other possible implementations of the present application, the resource unit allocation subfield may be further redefined. That is, the resource unit allocation subfield is reconfigured. The reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield corresponds to the allocation of frequency domain resource units of one 20 MHz channel and the binding status of the resource units. In other words, one reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield indicates the size and position of one or more resource units included in the 20 MHz channel and the binding status of the resource units. The resource unit allocation subfield is reconfigured so that the binding information of the Multi-RU can be directly displayed in the Common field. In this way, after reading the Common field, the user can directly learn the new RU distribution order and the new RU binding method. Therefore, even if the Multi-RU user, it only needs to use one user field to determine the new RU distribution order and the new RU binding method.

[0167] For example, the length of the reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield may be 9 bits, 10 bits, or more, which is not a limitation in this application.

[0168] It should be understood that the reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield may indicate limited RU combining or unlimited RU combining. For example, for combining small RUs in a 20 MHz channel, the locations of the 52-tone RU, 106-tone RU, and 26-tone RU that need to be combined indicated by the reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield are not limited. For example, the 26-tone RU that needs to be combined with the 52-tone RU or 106-tone RU may be adjacent or non-adjacent to the 52-tone RU or 106-tone RU. For combining large RUs across 242-tone RUs, the reconfigured resource unit allocation subfield of the corresponding configuration is used on the corresponding 20 MHz channel. For example, if there is a combination of 242-tone RU+242-tone RU in an 80 MHz channel, only the resource unit allocation subfield indicating the combination of 242-tone RU+242-tone RU needs to be used on both of the corresponding 20 MHz channels.

[0169] Optionally, in some possible implementations of the present application, the receiving device may be further informed of the Multi-RU combining information by extracting and indicating valid RUs. In other words, all valid RUs are extracted and sorted based on the order in which the user reads the valid RUs. One valid RU corresponds to one bit. The valid RU set is {52, 106, 242, 484, 996}, and the number in the set indicates the number of subcarriers that form the RU. The valid RUs are associated based on the location of the valid RUs in the bandwidth. For example, if there are 20 valid RUs in a 320 MHz channel, at least 20 bits are needed to indicate the RU combining information.

[0170] For example, for combining small RUs in a 242-tone RU, each valid small RU may correspond to one bit to indicate whether the corresponding valid small RU and the 26-tone RU are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. The valid small RU set is {52,106}. Specifically, the multi-resource unit allocation field in the signal field may include multiple combining indications. Each combining indication corresponds to one valid small RU and indicates whether the valid small RU and the 26-tone RU in the 242-tone RU where the valid small RU is located are combined. For example, when the combining indication bit corresponding to the valid small RU is set to 1, it indicates that the valid small RU and the 26-tone RU in the 242-tone RU where the valid small RU is located are combined, and when the indication bit corresponding to the valid small RU is set to 0, it indicates that the valid small RU is not combined. Alternatively, when the combining indication bit corresponding to one valid small RU is set to 0, it indicates that the valid small RU and the 26-tone RU in the 242-tone RU in which the valid small RU is located are combined, and when the combining indication bit corresponding to one valid small RU is set to 1, it indicates that the valid small RU is not combined.

[0171] It should be understood that when a combining instruction indicates that a 26-tone RU is combined with an active small RU in the 242-tone RU in which the active small RU is located, the 26-tone RU combined with the active small RU may be a 26-tone RU adjacent to the active small RU. For example, the active small RU is combined with the first 26-tone RU to the left or right of the active small RU to obtain one Multi-RU. In other words, a combining instruction corresponding to one active small RU indicates limited combining of small RUs.

[0172] For combining small RUs in a 242-tone RU, it can be understood that one 242-tone can contain up to three valid small RUs. Thus, one 242-tone (or one resource unit allocation subfield) corresponds to one bit of combining indication, and the one bit of combining indication may correspond to one 52-tone RU or one 106-tone RU. Alternatively, one 242-tone may correspond to two bits of combining indication, where each bit of the two bits of combining indication indicates one 52-tone RU, or one bit of the two bits of combining indication indicates one 52-tone RU and the other bit indicates a 106-tone RU. Alternatively, one 242-tone corresponds to three bits of combining indication, and each bit of the three bits of combining indication indicates one 52-tone RU.

[0173] For combining small RUs in a 242-tone RU, it should be understood that the length of the combining indication corresponding to different RU allocation subfields may be different because there may be multiple valid small RUs in an RU indicated by one RU allocation subfield. Therefore, the length of the multi-resource unit allocation field is variable. Optionally, the length of the combining indication corresponding to the RU allocation subfield may be indicated in the Common field. Alternatively, the length of the combining indication corresponding to different RU allocation subfields may be set to be the same. For example, assume that up to x valid RUs are combined in each RU allocation subfield. For N RU allocation subfields, the length of the multi-resource unit allocation field is N*x bits.

[0174] For large RU association across 242-tone RUs, i.e., valid large RU association indication, the set of valid large RUs is {242,484,996}.

[0175] Optionally, in a possible implementation, in the combining indication included in the multi-resource unit allocation field, one valid large RU may correspond to a two-bit combining indication. Different values of the two-bit combining indication indicate different orders of the valid large RUs in the resource unit combining. For example, when the combining indication bits are set to 00, it indicates that the valid large RUs are not combined. When the combining indication bits are set to 01, 10, 11, it indicates that the valid large RUs are located at the beginning, middle, or end of the combining positions.

[0176] Optionally, in a possible implementation, in the combining indication included in the multi-resource unit allocation field, one valid large RU corresponds to a two-bit indicator bit. Different values of the two-bit indicator bit indicate different combining states of the valid large RU during resource unit combining. For example, when the combining indication bit is set to 00, it indicates that the valid large RU is not combined. When the combining indication bit is set to 01, 10, 11, it indicates different combining of the valid large RU separately, and the valid large RUs corresponding to the same value of the combining indication are combined.

[0177] In some possible implementations of the present application, for combining large RUs across 242-tone RUs, i.e., combining valid large RUs, one valid large RU may alternatively correspond to one indicator bit to indicate whether the valid large RUs are combined. For example, when the combining indicator bit is set to 0, it indicates that the valid large RUs are not combined, and when the combining indicator bit is set to 1, it indicates that the valid large RUs are combined. Of course, when the combining indicator bit is set to 1, it alternatively indicates that the valid large RUs are not combined, and when the combining indicator bit is set to 0, it indicates that the valid large RUs are combined. In this case, it is necessary to predefine the combination, positions, etc. of multiple large RUs included in one Multi-RU.

[0178] For example, Table 10 is a schematic diagram of an example of the correspondence between binding instructions and valid large RUs. [Table 10]

[0179] In the example of Table 10, when the combining indication bit is set to 0, it indicates that the valid large RU corresponding to the combining indication is not combined, and when the combining indication bit is set to 1, it indicates that the valid large RU corresponding to the combining indication is combined. In this case, confusion may occur if no restriction is imposed. In the example shown in Table 10, it is difficult to distinguish whether 996-tone RU+484-tone RU+242-tone RU are combined into one Multi-RU, or 242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU are combined into one Multi-RU. Therefore, the combining group, combining method, etc. of the large RU may be predefined or set. For example, this can be solved by selecting a predetermined combination that appears from left to right. Assume that the pre-set large RU combination is 242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU. That is, it may be determined that the Multi-RU shown in Table 10 includes 242-tone RU+242-tone RU+996-tone RU. It should be understood that in Table 10, one 996-tone RU corresponds to four RU Allocation subfields, and the values of the combining indications corresponding to all the RU Allocation subfields are the same, for example, all are 1 or 0. One 484-tone RU corresponds to two RU Allocation subfields, and the values of the combining indications of all the RU Allocation subfields are the same, for example, both are 1.

[0180] In other words, the combining indication of one or more bits corresponding to each valid large RU may indicate the aforementioned limited combining method of the large RU. Specifically, the number, positions, and combinations of the large RUs that need to be combined are restricted to a certain extent. For example, multiple combining groups of the large RUs that can be combined may be predefined, and the combining indication may indicate any one of the multiple combining groups of the large RUs.

[0181] According to the resource unit combining indication method of the present application, the available RUs are extracted, and the combining indication indicating whether the available RUs are combined is arranged according to the location of the available RUs, so that the combining information of the multi-RUs can be effectively indicated.

[0182] It should be understood that in addition to the combining indications corresponding to the valid RUs being uniformly set in the multi-resource unit allocation field of the signal field, optionally, the resource unit allocation subfields may be further extended, and the combining indications of the valid RUs corresponding to each resource unit allocation subfield are set after the corresponding resource unit allocation subfield. For example, the extended resource unit allocation subfield may be 9 bits, 10 bits, or more bits, and one or more extended bits separately indicate the combining status of the valid RUs.

[0183] Optionally, in some possible implementations of the present application, in addition to the Common field in the signal field being improved to implement Multi-RU combining, the User field may be further improved to signal Multi-RU combining.

[0184] In a possible implementation, the STAIDs of different User Fields may be set to the same, in this way the user can know that multiple corresponding RUs are assigned to the user, and the binding information of the RUs is then notified.

[0185] In another possible implementation, one Multi-RU is formed by combining multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs. Multiple consecutive or non-consecutive RUs forming the Multi-RU may be assigned to one user, and the STAIDs corresponding to each of the multiple RUs are the same. Therefore, the information in the user fields with the same STAID other than the last user field in the user field may be changed. For example, in each of the user fields with the same STAID other than the last user field, the 9-bit indication information may indicate the absolute location information or relative location information of the next RU belonging to (or corresponding to) the user. After reading the first RU, the multi-resource unit user can directly learn the location of the next RU based on the indication. This reduces energy consumption to a certain extent.

[0186] In yet another possible implementation, one Multi-RU is formed by combining multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs. Multiple adjacent or non-adjacent RUs forming the Multi-RU may be assigned to one user, and the STAIDs corresponding to each of the multiple RUs are the same. Therefore, in this embodiment of the present application, in each of the multiple user fields having the same STAID other than the last user field, the 8-bit indication information may indicate absolute location information or relative location information of the next RU belonging to the user. That is, the positions, sizes, etc. of the multiple RUs forming the Multi-RU are indicated.

[0187] For example, in each of multiple user fields having the same STAID other than the last user field, the position of the next RU that needs to be combined and the position of the RU corresponding to the user field can be flexibly identified by indicating two pieces of information: the index channel number and the order of RU appearance.

[0188] Specifically, after the STA determines the resource unit allocation subfield, the STA may determine the channel on which the RU that needs to be combined with the RU where the STA is currently located is located by using a 4-bit indication (the 4-bit indication can indicate 16 channels). The STA may use the other 4 bits to indicate the location of a specific RU (each 242-tone contains up to 9 RUs) on each channel. Therefore, the 8 bits can flexibly indicate the location of the next RU that needs to be combined. In other words, in multiple user fields with the same STAID other than the last user field, the 8-bit indication field can indicate the location information of the next RU that needs to be combined with the current user field. In this way, the information on the RU that needs to be combined with the RU where the current user is located is determined.

[0189] For example, when two RUs are combined to form one Multi-RU, the STAIDs of the two user fields corresponding to the two RUs are the same. Therefore, in the first user field, the 8-bit indication field can indicate the location information of the next RU that needs to be combined with the current user field so that the Multi-RU can be determined.

[0190] In another example, when three RUs are combined to form one Multi-RU, the STAIDs of the three user fields corresponding to the three RUs are the same. There may be an 8-bit indication field in both the first and second user fields. The 8-bit indication field separately indicates the positions of the second and third RUs that need to be combined so that the Multi-RU can be determined. Similarly, when more RUs are combined to form one Multi-RU, the Multi-RU can only be determined by setting the 8-bit indication field in the user fields corresponding to RUs other than the last RU.

[0191] It should be understood that the 8-bit indication field of the user field can indicate an unlimited combining method or a limited combining method. Further, combining of small RUs within a 20 MHz channel may be indicated, or combining of large RUs across 242-tone RUs may be indicated.

[0192] In some other possible implementations, in each of the multiple user fields with the same STAID other than the last user field, 4 bits may further indicate the location information of the RU in a limited RU combining manner. It is assumed that small RUs of 242-tone RUs do not support combining across 242-tone RUs. In combining small RUs in a 20 MHz channel, since there are a maximum of 9 RUs in each 242-tone RU, 4 bits can completely indicate the location of the next combined RU. Of course, in combining small RUs in a 20 MHz channel, 3 bits may completely indicate the location of the next combined RU. Therefore, in combining small RUs in a 20 MHz channel, in each of the multiple user fields with the same STAID other than the last user field, 3 or 4 bits may indicate information about the RU that needs to combine with the RU where the current user is located (or the corresponding RU).

[0193] In the combination of large RUs across 242-tone RUs, since large RUs and small RUs across 242-tone RUs cannot be combined, a certain number of indicator bits may indicate the type of large RU, and a certain number of indicator bits indicates the location of the large RU. The large RU that needs to be combined is indicated by indicating two pieces of information: the type of large RU and the location of the large RU. The type of large RU represents 242-tone RU, 484-tone RU, or 996-tone RU. For example, in each of multiple user fields with the same STAID except the last user field, two bits may indicate the type of RU that needs to be combined with the large RU where the current user is located. For example, the types of large RUs indicated by setting two bits to 00, 01, and 10, respectively, are 242-tone RU, 484-tone RU, and 996-tone RU, and the other two bits indicate the subsequent large RU of that type.

[0194] In other words, in each of the multiple user fields having the same STAID other than the last user field, 3 or 4 bits may indicate information about the large RU that needs to be combined with the RU where the current user is located. For example, when three large RUs are combined to form one Multi-RU, a 4-bit indication field may be present in the first and second user fields among the three user fields corresponding to the three large RUs. The 4-bit indication field indicates the positions of the second and third large RUs that need to be combined, so that the Multi-RU can be determined. Similarly, when more RUs are combined to form one Multi-RU, the Multi-RU can be determined simply by setting the 4-bit indication field in all user fields corresponding to RUs other than the last RU.

[0195] For example, in the Multi-RU (242-tone RU+242-tone RU) formed by combining method 1 shown in Table 5, there may be 4 indication bits in the user field corresponding to the first 242-tone RU, and the 4 bits are set to 0010. The first 2 bits are set to 00 to indicate that the next combined RU is a 242-tone RU, and the last 2 bits are set to 10 to indicate that the RU is the third RU after the current RU. To determine the Multi-RU, the user may learn the location of a specific RU by referring to the known resource unit allocation subfield information. The user field corresponding to the second 242-tone RU may not need to be changed. Therefore, the 4 indication bits may indicate a limited combining method of the Multi-RU.

[0196] It should be further understood that if the flexibility of the indication needs to be further improved, the number of bits used can be further increased. For example, in each of the multiple user fields having the same STA-ID other than the last user field, an indication bit of another length indicates information about a large RU that needs to be combined with the RU where the current user is located.

[0197] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, for multiple user fields corresponding to multiple RUs that need to be combined, regardless of whether the STAIDs of the multiple user fields are the same, an indication bit indicating whether each of the multiple user fields (including the last user field) is the last user field may be further added to the user field, and this indication bit indicates whether the user field is the user field corresponding to the last RU that needs to be combined. In this way, the user may not consider that the last user field further includes information indicating the position of the next RU. For example, a 1-bit indication is used. One bit of a user field other than the last user field is set to 1 to indicate that the corresponding user field is not the last user field, and one bit in a user field other than the last user field is set to 0 to indicate that the corresponding user field is the last user field.

[0198] It should be noted that since there is a correspondence between the location of an RU and the location of a user field in the user specific field, an indication of the location of an RU is an indication of the location of a user field corresponding to the RU.

[0199] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, for multiple user fields corresponding to multiple RUs that need to be combined, because the STAIDs of the multiple user fields are the same, an indication bit indicating the number of RUs that need to be combined may be further added to each of the multiple user fields (including the last user field) to indicate the number of RUs that need to be combined. For example, when four RUs need to be combined, the length of the indication bit may be 2 bits. Since the value of the indication bit of each user field is the same, the user can more accurately read the number of RUs that need to be combined.

[0200] In another possible implementation of the present application, the signal field may further include a multi-resource unit allocation field, and the multi-resource unit allocation field includes multiple location information indication subfields. One location information indication subfield indicates the location of one RU that needs to be combined into a Multi-RU. Two or more of the multiple location information indication subfields form one group, and the multiple RUs indicated by the location information indication subfields of one group are combined into one Multi-RU. Based on reading the resource unit allocation subfield, with reference to the multiple location information indication bits, a user can know the RUs allocated to the user based on the order in which the user appears in the user-specific field, and further, based on obtaining the RU allocation format, the Multi-RU combination information can be obtained. In this way, the users are still sorted based on the RU appearance order, and each user appears only once in the user-specific field. By searching the user's location, information such as the allocated RU can be obtained.

[0201] Specifically, in a possible embodiment, the following will be described with reference to the example shown in Figure 14. Figure 14 is a schematic diagram of an example of a signal field according to the present application. The signal field further includes a multi-resource unit allocation field, where the multi-resource unit allocation field includes multiple location information indication subfields, where one location information indication subfield indicates the location of one RU that needs to be combined with the Multi-RU. The RUs indicated by the neighboring location information indication field need to be combined. For example, in the example shown in Figure 14, the multi-resource unit allocation field includes six location information indication subfields, where one location information indication subfield indicates the location of one RU that needs to be combined with the Multi-RU.

[0202] It is assumed that the three RUs indicated by location information indication subfield 1 to location information indication subfield 4 need to be combined into one Multi-RU, and the two RUs indicated by location information indication subfield 5 and location information indication subfield 6 need to be combined into another Multi-RU. As shown in FIG. 15, each rectangle shown in FIG. 15 indicates one RU, the number in the rectangle indicates a specific user corresponding to the RU (or the order of appearance of the user field), and each row of the rectangle corresponds to one 20 MHz bandwidth. The location information indication subfield 1 indicates position 1 indicating the first rectangle in the first row, and the location information indication subfield 2 indicates position 2 indicating the second rectangle in the third row. Furthermore, the RUs in position 1 and position 2 may be combined. The location information indication subfield 3 also indicates position 2. Specifically, both the location information indication subfield 3 and the location information indication subfield 2 indicate the RU in position 2. The location information indication subfield 4 indicates position 3 and indicates the third rectangle in the third row. Furthermore, position 3 corresponds to only one location information indication subfield 4. The RU at position 3 is the last RU included in one Multi-RU, and it may be determined that only the RU indicated in location information indication subfield 4 and the RU indicated in the previous location information indication subfield (location information indication subfield 3) need to be combined. Therefore, it may be determined that the Multi-RU includes an RU indicated in location information indication subfield 1 + an RU indicated in location information indication subfield 2 or 3 + an RU indicated in location information indication subfield 4. Specifically, when one Multi-RU includes three RUs, the middle RU corresponds to two location information indication subfields. In other words, four location information indication subfields are required to indicate the combination of three RUs.

[0203] Also, the location information indication subfield 5 indicates position 4, which indicates the second rectangle in the second row, and the location information indication subfield 6 indicates position 5, which indicates the third rectangle in the second row. If other location information indication subfields 6 later do not indicate position 5 either, it may be determined that another Multi-RU includes the RU indicated by the location information indication subfield 5 and the RU indicated by the location information indication subfield 6. A user can determine the RUs assigned to the user based on the order in which the users appear in the user-specific field, and further obtain the Multi-RU combination information based on obtaining the RU assignment format. For example, in the example shown in FIG. 13, three RUs corresponding to positions 1 to 4 are combined into one Multi-RU used by user 1. Two RUs corresponding to positions 5 to 6 are combined into another Multi-RU used by user 10.

[0204] Optionally, the length of each location information indication subfield may be 4 bits, 8 bits, 9 bits, or another length, indicating the combination of small RUs within a 242-tone RU and the combination of large RUs across 242-tone RUs. Optionally, both the combination of small RUs within a 242-tone RU and the combination of large RUs across 242-tone RUs may be non-restrictive combinations of RUs.

[0205] Optionally, in another possible implementation, a one-bit group indication bit may be added to each location information indication subfield, and RUs indicated by multiple location information indication subfields with the same value of the group indication bit may be combined into one Multi-RU. For example, as shown in FIG. 13, if one Multi-RU includes three RUs, one-bit group indication bit may be added separately to three location information indication subfields corresponding to the three RUs, and the values of the group indication bit corresponding to the three RUs are the same. In this way, it may be indicated that three RUs need to be combined into one Multi-RU. The number of required location information indication subfields can be reduced because the RUs that need to be combined into one Multi-RU are not determined by repeatedly indicating the location of one RU. In other words, three location information indication subfields may indicate the combination of three RUs. RUs at the same location do not correspond to two location information indication subfields. A user may obtain Multi-RU combination information based on determining the RUs assigned to the user based on the order in which the user appears in the user-specific field, and further obtaining the RU allocation format. Furthermore, the same user should only appear once in a user-specific field.

[0206] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, the length of the multi-resource unit allocation field may be indicated in the Common field. Also, the multiple location information indication subfields included in the multi-resource unit allocation field may exist in both CC1 and CC2. Or, one part of the multiple location information indication subfields exists on CC1, and the other part of the multiple location information indication subfields exists on CC2. This is not limited to this embodiment of the present application.

[0207] Optionally, in some other possible implementations of the present application, the Center 26-tone RU may be combined with another RU to obtain one Multi-RU for the combined state of the Center 26-tone RU in the middle of each 80 MHz channel. Whether the Center 26-tone RU exists depends on the value of the Center 26-tone RU field in the Common field, which has one bit. When the bit is set to 1, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU exists. When the bit is set to 0, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU does not exist.

[0208] In a possible implementation, the Center 26-tone RU field may be extended to multiple bits, for example, 2 bits. When the 2 bits are set to 00, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU is not present in the corresponding 80 MHz frequency band. When the 2 bits are set to 01, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU is present in the corresponding 80 MHz frequency band, but the Center 26-tone RU is not combined, i.e., not combined with another RU. When the 2 bits are set to 10, 11, it indicates separately that the Center 26-tone RU is present in the corresponding 80 MHz frequency band, and the Center 26-tone RU needs to be combined with another RU.

[0209] For example, when the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU and adjacent RUs within the 242-tone range to the right of the Center 26-tone RU are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. When the two bits are set to 11, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU and adjacent RUs within the 242-tone range to the left of the Center 26-tone RU are combined to obtain one Multi-RU.

[0210] In another example, when the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU and the RU closest to the Center 26-tone RU in the 242-tone range to the right of the Center 26-tone RU are combined to obtain one Multi-RU. When the two bits are set to 11, it indicates that the Center 26-tone RU and the RU closest to the Center 26-tone RU in the 242-tone range to the left of the Center 26-tone RU are combined to obtain one Multi-RU.

[0211] An RU adjacent to a Center 26-tone RU can be understood as an RU before or after the Center 26-tone RU. An RU closest to a Center 26-tone RU may or may not be an RU adjacent to the Center 26-tone RU. For example, an RU closest to a Center 26-tone RU may be an RU that is at the coordinates of the Center 26-tone RU or to the right of the coordinates of the Center 26-tone RU and is spaced apart by multiple RUs.

[0212] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the application, the Center 26-tone RU field can be further extended to multiple bits to indicate more combined views of the Center 26-tone RU.

[0213] Furthermore, it should be understood that the RUs within the 242-tone range closest to or adjacent to the Center 26-tone RU may be 52-tone RUs, 106-tone RUs, 242-tone RUs, etc.

[0214] In another possible implementation, a combining indication may be further set in the user field corresponding to the Center 26-tone RU, indicating whether the Center 26-tone RU and multiple RUs are combined. That is, the user field corresponding to the Center 26-tone RU is changed. And all users need to read the user field corresponding to the Center 26-tone RU and determine whether the STA ID in the user field corresponding to the Center 26-tone RU is the same as the user's ID. If the STA ID in the user field corresponding to the intermediate 26-tone RU is the same as the user's ID, the Center 26-tone RU and the RU corresponding to the current user field need to be combined.

[0215] It should be understood that in the embodiments of the present application, "first", "second", etc. are intended to simply indicate that the objects are different. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here.

[0243] The communication device 600 or 700 may be a receiving device, for example a terminal device.

[0244] Furthermore, it should be understood that the division of units in the device is merely a logical functional division. During actual implementation, all or part of the units may be integrated into one physical entity or may be physically separated. Furthermore, all units in the device may be implemented in a form in which the processing element runs the software, or in a form of hardware, or some units may be implemented in a form of software that is run by the processing element and some units may be implemented in a form of hardware. For example, the units may be separately located processing elements, or may be integrated into a chip of the device for implementation. Furthermore, the units are stored in a memory in a program form and are called by the processing element of the device to perform the functions of the units. The processing element described herein may also be called a processor, and may be an integrated circuit having signal processing capabilities. During implementation, the steps in the above-mentioned method or the above-mentioned units may be implemented by using a hardware integrated logic circuit in the processor element, or in a form in which the processing element runs the software.

[0245] For example, any one of the units of the aforementioned devices may be one or more integrated circuits configured to perform the aforementioned methods, such as one or more application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), one or more digital signal processors (DSPs), one or more field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), or a combination of at least two of these integrated circuits. In another example, if the units in the device can be implemented in a form in which the processing element schedules a program, the processing element may be a general-purpose processor, such as a central processing unit (CPU) or another processor that can call a program. In another example, the units may be integrated together and implemented in a form of a system-on-a-chip (SOC).

[0246] 20 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a terminal device 800 according to the present application. The device 600 or 700 may be configured in the terminal device 800. Alternatively, the device 600 or 700 may be the terminal device 800. In other words, the terminal device 800 may perform the actions performed by the receiving device in the embodiment of the above method.

[0247] For ease of explanation, Fig. 20 only shows the main components of the terminal device 800. As shown in Fig. 20, the terminal device 800 includes a processor, a memory, a control circuit, an antenna, and input / output devices.

[0248] The processor is mainly configured to process communication protocols and communication data, control the entire terminal device, execute software programs, and process data of the software programs, for example, to support the terminal device in performing the actions described in the above resource unit binding instruction method. The memory is mainly configured to store software programs and data, for example, to store the codebook described in the above embodiment. The control circuit is mainly configured to perform conversion between baseband signals and radio frequency signals and process radio frequency signals. The combination of the control circuit and the antenna, also called a transceiver, is mainly configured to transmit / receive radio frequency signals in the form of electromagnetic waves. The input / output device, for example, a touch screen, a display, a keyboard, etc., is mainly configured to receive data input by a user and output data to a user.

[0249] After the terminal device is powered on, the processor may read the software program in the storage unit, interpret and execute the instructions of the software program, and process the data of the software program. When data needs to be transmitted wirelessly, the processor performs baseband processing on the data to be transmitted, and then outputs the baseband signal to the radio frequency circuit. After performing radio frequency processing on the baseband signal, the radio frequency circuit transmits the radio frequency signal in the form of an electromagnetic wave through an antenna. When data is transmitted to the terminal device, the radio frequency circuit receives the radio frequency signal through the antenna, converts the radio frequency signal into a baseband signal, and outputs the baseband signal to the processor. The processor converts the baseband signal into data and processes the data.

[0250] Those skilled in the art will understand that FIG. 20 shows only one memory and one processor for ease of explanation. An actual terminal device may include multiple processors and memories. The memory may also be referred to as a storage medium, a storage device, etc. This is not limited to this embodiment of the present application.

[0251] For example, the processor may include a baseband processor and a central processing unit. The baseband processor is mainly configured to process communication protocols and communication data. The central processing unit is mainly configured to control the entire terminal device, execute software programs, and process data of the software programs. The processor of FIG. 20 integrates the functions of the baseband processor and the central processing unit. Those skilled in the art will understand that, alternatively, the baseband processor and the central processing unit may be independent processors and interconnected using a technology such as a bus. Those skilled in the art will understand that the terminal device may include multiple baseband processors to meet different network standards, the terminal device may include multiple central processing units to increase the processing capacity of the terminal device, and the components of the terminal device may be connected via various buses. The baseband processor may also be represented as a baseband processing circuit or a baseband processing chip. The central processing unit may also be represented as a central processing circuit or a central processing chip. The function of processing the communication protocol and communication data may be embedded in the processor or stored in the storage unit in the form of a software program. The processor executes the software program to realize the baseband processing function.

[0252] For example, in this embodiment of the present application, the antenna and control circuit having receiving and transmitting functions may be considered as a transceiver unit 801 of the terminal device 800, and the processor having processing functions may be considered as a processing unit 802 of the terminal device 800. As shown in FIG. 10, the terminal device 800 includes a transceiver unit 801 and a processing unit 802. The transceiver unit may also be referred to as a transceiver, a transceiver machine, a transceiver equipment, etc. Optionally, a component configured to realize a receiving function in the transceiver unit 801 may be considered as a receiving unit, and a component configured to realize a transmitting function in the transceiver unit 801 may be considered as a transmitting unit. In other words, the transceiver unit 801 includes a receiving unit and a transmitting unit. For example, the receiving unit may also be referred to as a receiving machine, a receiver, a receiving circuit, etc. The transmitting unit may also be referred to as a transmitting machine, a transmitter, a transmitting circuit, etc.

[0253] Figure 21 is a schematic diagram of the structure of another terminal device 900 according to the present application. In Figure 21, the terminal device includes a processor 910, a data transmission processor 920, and a data reception processor 930. The processing unit 620 of the above embodiment may be the processor 910 of Figure 21 and implements corresponding functions. The communication unit 610 of the above embodiment may be the data transmission processor 920 and / or the data reception processor 930 of Figure 21. Figure 21 shows a channel coder and a channel decoder. However, it will be understood that these modules do not constitute a limitation to the present embodiment, but are merely examples.

[0254] FIG. 22 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a network device according to an embodiment of the present application. The network device is configured to realize the operation of the network device (i.e., the transmitting device) in the above embodiment. As shown in FIG. 22, the network device includes an antenna 1001, a radio frequency device 1002, and a baseband device 1003. The antenna 1001 is connected to the radio frequency device 1002. In the uplink direction, the radio frequency device 1002 receives information transmitted by a terminal device through the antenna 1001, and transmits the information transmitted by the terminal device to the baseband device 1003 for processing. In the downlink direction, the baseband device 1003 processes information about the terminal and transmits the information to the radio frequency device 1002. The radio frequency device 1002 processes information about the terminal and transmits the processed information to the terminal through the antenna 1001.

[0255] The baseband device 1003 may include one or more processing elements 10031, including, for example, a main control CPU and another integrated circuit. Furthermore, the baseband device 1003 may further include a memory element 10032 and an interface 10033. The memory element 10032 is configured to store programs and data. The interface 10033 is configured to exchange information with the radio frequency device 1002, the interface being, for example, a common public radio interface (CPRI). The aforementioned devices used in the network device may be located in the baseband device 1003. For example, the aforementioned devices used in the network device may be chips in the baseband device 1003. The chip includes at least one processing element and an interface circuit. The processing element is configured to perform steps of any method performed by the network device. The interface circuit is configured to communicate with another device. In implementation, the units in the network device for implementing the steps of the aforementioned methods may be implemented in the form of scheduling a program by the processing element. For example, an apparatus used in a network device includes a processing element and a storage element. The processing element invokes a program stored in the storage element to execute the method performed by the network device in the above method embodiment. The storage element may be a storage element located on the same chip as the processing element, i.e., an on-chip storage element, or a storage element located on a different chip than the processing element, i.e., an off-chip storage element.

[0256] Optionally, in some other possible implementations of the present application, for combining small RUs in a 242-tone RU, the combining indication is two bits in a 20 MHz channel, and if the two bits are set to 00, it indicates that there is no Multi-RU combining in the resource unit allocation method, i.e., there is no Multi-RU. If the two bits are set to 01, it indicates that the second 52-tone RU and the second 26-tone RU are combined into one Multi-RU. Specifically, the left neighboring 26-tone RU of the second 52-tone RU is combined into one Multi-RU. For example, as shown in FIG. 23, the sorting is performed in ascending order of frequency domain in the 20 MHz channel, and the 20 MHz channel may include nine 26-tone RUs. Alternatively, the 20 MHz channel may include four 52-tone RUs or two 106-tone RUs. The second 26-tone RU is located in the second position of the nine 26-tone RUs, and the second 52-tone RU is located in the second position of the four 52-tone RUs. In Figure 23, the 26-tone RU marked as the first filling pattern in the first row is the second 26-tone RU mentioned above. The 52-tone RU marked as the first filling pattern in the second row is the second 52-tone RU mentioned above. Alternatively, if the two bits are set to 01, it indicates that the first 106-tone RU and the Center 26-tone RU (i.e., the fifth 26-tone RU) in the 20 MHz channel are combined into one Multi-RU. In Figure 23, the 106-tone RU marked as the third filling pattern in the third row is the first 106-tone RU mentioned above, and the 26-tone RU marked as the second filling pattern in the first row is the fifth 26-tone RU (Center 26-tone RU in a 20 MHz channel) mentioned above. In Figure 23, RUs with the same filling pattern may be combined into one Multi-RU.

[0257] When the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that the third 52-tone RU and the eighth 26-tone RU are combined into one Multi-RU. Specifically, the third 52-tone RU and the right-neighboring 26-tone RU of the third 52-tone RU are combined into one Multi-RU. The third 52-tone RU is located at the third of the four 52-tone RUs, and the eighth 26-tone RU is located at the eighth of the nine 26-tone RUs. As shown in Figure 23, the 52-tone RU marked as the third filling pattern in the second row is the third 52-tone RU mentioned above, and the 26-tone RU marked as the third filling pattern in the first row is the eighth 26-tone RU mentioned above.

[0258] Alternatively, when the two bits are set to 10, it indicates that the second 106-tone RU and the Center 26-tone RU (i.e., the fifth 26-tone RU) in the 20 MHz channel are combined into one Multi-RU. In Figure 23, the 106-tone RU marked as the fourth filling pattern in the third row is the second 106-tone RU mentioned above, and the Center 26-tone RU in the 20 MHz channel is the 26-tone RU marked as the second filling pattern in the first row.

[0259] When the 2 bits are set to 11, it indicates that there is an RU combination indicated by setting the 2 bits to 01 and an RU combination indicated by setting the 2 bits to 10.

[0260] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, the meanings indicated by the values of the two bits may be interchanged. For example, the content indicated by setting the two bits to 01 may be interchanged with the content indicated by setting the two bits to 10, the content indicated by setting the two bits to 01 may be interchanged with the content indicated by setting the two bits to 11, or the content indicated by setting the two bits to 10 may be interchanged with the content indicated by setting the two bits to 11, and the content of the two bits at 10 may be interchanged with the content of the two bits at 11. In other words, the specific values of the two bits in the above example should not constitute a limitation to this embodiment of the present application.

[0261] If over a 40 MHz bandwidth, then bonding may be performed for each 20 MHz channel based on the bonding instructions and bonding method shown in FIG. 23 since the 40 MHz bandwidth is approximately a replica of the subcarrier distribution of the 20 MHz channel and small RUs are not bonded across 20 MHz channels as shown in FIG. 24.

[0262] Similarly, in the 80 MHz, 160 MHz, and 320 MHz bandwidths, the small RUs do not combine across 20 MHz channels. On each 20 MHz channel, combining may be performed based on the combining instructions and combining method shown in FIG.

[0263] In another implementation, the unit of the network equipment implementing the steps of the above method may be configured as one or more processing elements. The processing elements are located in the baseband equipment. A processing element in this specification may be an integrated circuit, for example one or more ASICs, one or more DSPs, one or more FPGAs, or a combination of types of integrated circuits. These integrated circuits may be integrated together to form a chip.

[0264] The units of the network device performing the steps in the aforementioned method may be integrated together and implemented in the form of a system on chip, for example, a baseband device includes a SOC chip configured to perform the aforementioned method.

[0265] It should be noted that the terminal device and the network device in the aforementioned device may exactly correspond to the receiving device or the transmitting device in the method embodiment, and the corresponding modules or units perform the corresponding steps. For example, if the device is implemented in the form of a chip, the receiving unit may be an interface circuit of the chip, configured to receive a signal from another chip or device. The aforementioned unit configured to transmit is an interface circuit of the device, configured to transmit a signal to another device. For example, if the device is implemented in the form of a chip, the transmitting unit is an interface circuit of the chip, configured to transmit a signal from another chip or device.
