Description

[Technical field]

[0001] An embodiment of the present invention relates to an information processing system and a program. [Background technology]

[0002] Traditionally, in stores that prepare and serve food ingredients, systems that include a POS terminal for settling bills (accounting), a kitchen terminal installed in the kitchen, and an order station that manages the various terminals in the store and manages information on orders received have been widely used.

[0003] Among the above-mentioned stores, some stores that accept take-out orders have installed a display device at the storefront and display a number associated with the order to indicate that the order indicated by the number has been accepted, that the order is ready for take-out, etc. Such a display device adds, updates, or erases the displayed content in response to operations by store staff.

[0004] Operating the display device as described above places a burden on store staff. Furthermore, if an operation is omitted, not only will the display device be unable to fulfill its role, but it will also confuse takeaway customers. Patent documents 1 to 3, for example, disclose techniques for notifying customers of the progress of preparation of ordered products. However, none of these techniques solves the problems associated with the display device used in the system described above. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide an information processing system and a program that can reduce the burden caused by operating a display device. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] An information processing system according to an embodiment includes one or more terminal devices installed in a store and operated by a person in charge of preparing products corresponding to an order, and a display device installed in the storefront for displaying the progress of the preparation, and includes a reception processing unit and an update processing unit. The reception processing unit acquires information related to an order from an order receiving system and transmits the information to the terminal device and the display device. When the terminal device receives an operation to update the progress, the update processing unit changes the information displayed by the display device based on the operation. [0008] An embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of an information processing system in an embodiment. The information processing system of this embodiment is installed in a store that cooks and serves ingredients. The information processing system includes an order station 5, a kitchen display 6, a kitchen printer 7, a POS terminal 8, and a display device 9.

[0009] The user terminal 1 is, for example, a terminal device such as a smartphone or a PC (Personal Computer). The order receiving system 3 provides a service of accepting an order for a product (food) that can be provided by a store from the user terminal 1 and transmitting information related to the order (information indicating the contents of the order) to the store. Note that, although the order receiving system 3 in this embodiment is a service provided by the cloud, in practice, the order receiving system 3 does not have to be a cloud service.

[0010] Kitchen display 6 and kitchen printer 7 are sometimes collectively referred to as a kitchen terminal. The kitchen terminal and POS terminal 8 are examples of terminal devices installed in a store. The POS terminal 8 is also an example of a sales data processing device. The POS terminal 8 and display device 9 are installed in front of the store. The order station 5 and kitchen terminal are installed in the back room or kitchen (cooking area) of the store. The order station 5 is an example of an information processing device that manages the terminal devices in the store.

[0011] The order station 5 receives orders from the user terminal 1 via the cloud-based order receiving system 3, and transmits and receives information as appropriate to each terminal in the store (kitchen display 6, kitchen printer 7, POS terminal 8, and display device 9). Each terminal in the store is connected to each other so that they can communicate with each other via a communication means such as a LAN (Local Area Network).

[0012] 2 is a block diagram showing an example of a hardware configuration of the order station 5. The order station 5 includes a CPU 51, a ROM 52, a RAM 53, a communication unit 54, a storage unit 55, etc. These units are connected via a bus.

[0013] The CPU 51 is an example of a processor and controls the overall operation of the order station 5. The ROM 52 stores various programs. The RAM 53 is a workspace for developing programs and various data. The CPU 51, the ROM 52, and the RAM 53 constitute a control unit 50 having a computer configuration.

[0014] In the control unit 50, the CPU 51 executes various processes by operating according to programs stored in the ROM 52 or the storage unit 55 and loaded into the RAM 53. The control unit 50 functions as various functional units (see FIG. 7, described below) as described below by the CPU 51 executing the programs 551 stored in the storage unit 55.

[0015] The communication unit 54 is an interface that is communicatively connected to an external device (for example, the order receiving system 3) via a public network. The communication unit 54 is also an interface that is communicatively connected to each terminal in the store via a LAN or the like.

[0016] The storage unit 55 is composed of a non-volatile storage device such as a hard disk drive (HDD) or a flash memory, and maintains the stored contents even when the power is cut off. The storage unit 55 stores various programs 551 executed by the CPU 51 and various setting information related to the operation of the order station 5. The storage unit 55 also stores product information 552, order information 553, etc.

[0017] Product information 552 is information about products (food, menu) handled in a store, and is stored in, for example, a table format in storage unit 55. Product information 552 is composed of, for example, the following items: ·Product ID ·Product name Amount (unit price) Product Description Product images

[0018] The product ID is identification information for identifying each product, and is unique among multiple products included in the product information 552. The product name is information indicating the name or abbreviation of the product. The price is information indicating the price (unit price) of one product. The product description stores various information about the product (for example, information about ingredients included in the product, cooking time required for cooking, etc.). The product image is image data representing the product.

[0019] Order information 553 is information related to an order for a product stored in product information 552. Order information 553 is stored in storage unit 55 in the form of a table, for example. Storage unit 55 associates the following information, for example, and stores it as order information 553. Call number · Ticket number ·time Order information (item ID, product name, quantity, etc.) Status (either accepting orders, cooking, preparing for delivery, ready for delivery, etc.) ·Customer ID ·contact address Payment Flag

[0020] The call number is identification information used by the order station 5 to identify a group of orders, and is a unique number for each order that includes one or more products, and is presented when calling the orderer (customer).

[0021] The invoice number is a number assigned to each invoice. For example, if an order for one call number contains many products, multiple invoices may be issued for one call number.

[0022] The time is information indicating the time when the order receiving system 3 accepted the order, or the time when the order station 5 received the order.

[0023] The order information corresponds to the product information 552 and includes, for example, the following information: ·Product ID ·Product name Number (quantity, quantity)

[0024] Order item information is information on ordered items, and one or more items are associated with one call number. If one order includes multiple items, multiple records with the same call number but different order item information are generated in order information 553.

[0025] The status is information indicating the progress of preparation of the product indicated by the order information, and stores the current status among the multiple stages from order acceptance to delivery of the product.

[0026] The following are examples of status: "Currently being accepted" indicates the status immediately after acceptance "Cooking" to indicate that the product is being cooked "Preparing for delivery" indicates that cooking is complete "Ready for pickup" indicates that a customer who has ordered a takeaway item is being called.

[0027] The customer ID is information for identifying the customer who placed the order, and is an ID given to a customer who is registered as a member of a store or an external service. The contact information is the contact information of the customer who placed the order, and is, for example, a telephone number associated with the user terminal 1 that sent the message, or ID information of a message service that can be viewed on the user terminal 1 (for example, an email address, etc.).

[0028] The payment flag indicates whether or not payment (accounting) for an order for the call number associated with the payment flag has been completed. The payment flag can take on a value of either "0" or "1", for example. A payment flag value of "0" indicates that payment has not been completed (accounting has not yet been completed), and a payment flag value of "1" indicates that payment has been completed (accounting has been completed). In this embodiment, the payment flag is updated from "0" to "1" when either a customer performs an operation related to payment on their own user terminal 1, or a store clerk performs an operation related to accounting on the POS terminal 8 in the store.

[0029] Next, a description will be given of the kitchen display 6. The kitchen display 6 is a device that displays information for staff working in the kitchen, and also receives operations from staff to change the status of an order.

[0030] 3 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of kitchen display 6. Kitchen display 6 includes a CPU 61, a ROM 62, a RAM 63, a communication unit 64, a storage unit 65, a display unit 66, and an operation unit 67. These units are connected via a bus. CPU 61, ROM 62, and RAM 63 constitute control unit 60 of a computer configuration.

[0031] The communication unit 64 is an interface that is communicatively connected to the order station 5 via a LAN or the like. The storage unit 65 stores a program 651.

[0032] The display unit 66 is, for example, a display device such as a liquid crystal panel. The display unit 66 displays information (see FIG. 8, described later) for the user based on information received from the order station 5. The user is an example of a staff member working in the kitchen who prepares products corresponding to orders. The operation unit 67 includes, for example, a touch panel and hardware keys superimposed on the surface of the display unit 66. The operation unit 67 accepts operations manually input by the user.

[0033] CPU 61, ROM 62, RAM 63, control unit 60, storage unit 65, and program 651 correspond to the above-mentioned CPU 51, ROM 52, RAM 53, control unit 50, storage unit 55, and program 551, and therefore detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0034] Next, we will explain the kitchen printer 7. The kitchen printer 7 is installed in the kitchen and is a device that issues a slip (accounting slip, described later) showing the details of an order, and also accepts operations from a waiter to change the status of an order.

[0035] 4 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of kitchen printer 7. Kitchen printer 7 includes a CPU 71, ROM 72, RAM 73, a communication unit 74, a storage unit 75, an operation unit 77, a scanner 78, a printing unit 79, etc. These units are connected via a bus. CPU 71, ROM 72, and RAM 73 constitute a control unit 70 of a computer configuration.

[0036] The operation unit 77 is, for example, a hardware key such as an on / off key, and accepts operations manually input by a user (store clerk). The on / off key accepts an operation to switch the kitchen printer 7 between operation and non-operation.

[0037] The printer 79 operates under the control of the controller 70 and outputs an accounting slip (see FIG. 9, described below). The scanner 78 reads a code symbol, such as a barcode, printed on the accounting slip and passes the decoded value of the code symbol to the controller 70.

[0038] The CPU 71, ROM 72, RAM 73, control unit 70, communication unit 74, memory unit 75 and program 751 correspond to the above-mentioned CPU 61, ROM 62, RAM 63, control unit 60, communication unit 64, memory unit 65 and program 651, and therefore detailed explanations are omitted.

[0039] Next, a description will be given of the POS terminal 8. The POS terminal 8 is a device that is installed in a storefront and used by a store clerk when receiving and delivering products and making payments (accounting). Note that POS is an abbreviation for Point Of Sale.

[0040] 5 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the POS terminal 8. The POS terminal 8 includes a CPU 81, a ROM 82, a RAM 83, a communication unit 84, a storage unit 85, a display unit 86, an operation unit 87, a scanner 88, and a cash deposit / withdrawal unit 89. These units are connected via a bus. The CPU 81, the ROM 82, and the RAM 83 constitute a control unit 80 having a computer configuration.

[0041] The display unit 86 is a display device such as a liquid crystal panel. The display unit 86 displays information for the user based on information received from the order station 5. The user is an example of a store clerk working at the store who prepares products corresponding to orders. The operation unit 87 includes, for example, a touch panel and hardware keys superimposed on the surface of the display unit 86. The operation unit 87 accepts operations manually input by the user.

[0042] The scanner 88 reads a code symbol, such as a barcode, printed on the accounting slip and passes the decoded value of the code symbol to the control unit 80. The deposit / withdrawal unit 89 receives money and dispenses change under the control of the control unit 80.

[0043] The CPU 81, ROM 82, RAM 83, control unit 80, communication unit 84, memory unit 85 and program 851 correspond to the above-mentioned CPU 61, ROM 62, RAM 63, control unit 60, communication unit 64, memory unit 65 and program 651, and therefore detailed explanations are omitted.

[0044] 6 is a block diagram showing an example of a hardware configuration of the display device 9. The display device 9 includes a CPU 91, a ROM 92, a RAM 93, a communication unit 94, a storage unit 95, a display unit 96, an operation unit 97, and the like. These units are connected via a bus. The CPU 91, the ROM 92, and the RAM 93 constitute a control unit 90 having a computer configuration.

[0045] The display unit 96 is a display device such as a liquid crystal panel. Based on information received from the order station 5, the display unit 96 displays information (see FIG. 10, described later) for customers waiting for the products they have ordered at the store. The operation unit 97 is, for example, a hardware key such as an on / off key, and accepts operations manually input by a user (store clerk). The on / off key accepts an operation to switch the display device 9 between operating and non-operating.

[0046] The CPU 91, ROM 92, RAM 93, control unit 90, communication unit 94, memory unit 95 and program 951 correspond to the above-mentioned CPU 61, ROM 62, RAM 63, control unit 60, communication unit 64, memory unit 65 and program 651, and therefore detailed explanations are omitted.

[0047] FIG. 7 is a block diagram illustrating an example of functional units included in the information processing system.

[0048] The control unit 50 functions as a reception processing unit 501 and an update processing unit 502 by the CPU 51 reading and executing the program 551 .

[0049] When the reception processing unit 501 receives order information from the user terminal 1 via the order receiving system 3, it stores the information in the memory unit 55 as order information 553 and also transmits it to each terminal in the store (the kitchen display 6, the kitchen printer 7, and the display device 9).

[0050] When the update processing unit 502 receives a signal from the kitchen display 6, it updates the status of the order information 553 according to the information indicated by the signal, and transmits information to the display device 9 instructing it to update the display. Furthermore, when update processing unit 502 receives a signal from kitchen printer 7, it updates the status of order information 553 according to the information indicated by the signal, and transmits information to display device 9 instructing it to update the display. Furthermore, when the update processing unit 502 receives a signal from the POS terminal 8, it updates the status of the order information 553 according to the information indicated by the signal, and transmits information to the display device 9 instructing it to update the display.

[0051] The control unit 60 of the kitchen display 6 functions as a reception processing unit 601 and an update processing unit 602 by the CPU 61 reading and executing the program 651 .

[0052] When the reception processing unit 601 receives information from the order station 5, it adds the information to be displayed on the display unit 66. The update processing unit 602 updates or deletes the information displayed by the display unit 66 in response to a user operation received by the operation unit 67, and transmits a signal corresponding to the update or deletion to the order station 5.

[0053] 8 is a diagram showing a display example of the kitchen display 6. The display unit 66 of the kitchen display 6 displays information about an order from when it is received by the order station 5 until it is taken away by the customer. The information is displayed, for example, in the form of a list with one line for each item (dish, menu) included in the order.

[0054] When order information is input from the order station 5, the kitchen display 6 adds a row (record) displaying the information. Each record includes, for example, the following items: Call number ·time ·Product name ·number Status (not yet, cooking, done, etc.)

[0055] The call number, time, product name, and number are the same as those contained in the above-mentioned order information 553. The status also has the same meaning as that contained in the above-mentioned order information 553, but since it is sufficient here to know the progress status related to the kitchen staff, for example, everything before "cooking" can be "not yet" and everything after "cooking" can be "done".

[0056] When a kitchen staff member wants to change the status of an order, for example, the kitchen staff member touches the display position of the line that displays the information about the order. The operation unit 67 transmits the touched position to the control unit 70.

[0057] The control unit 70 advances the status of the order displayed at the touched position by one level. For example, the status is changed from "Not yet" to "Cooking" and from "Cooking" to "Completed" each time an operation is received. The display unit 66 updates the display content in response to the change (update) of the status by the control unit 70.

[0058] In addition, an order line with a status of "Completed" may be deleted (erased) when a predetermined time has passed since the status became "Completed", or may be deleted (erased) upon receiving a deletion instruction from order station 5.

[0059] The control unit 70 of the kitchen printer 7 functions as a print processing unit 701 and a read processing unit 702 as a result of the CPU 71 reading and executing the program 751 .

[0060] The print processing unit 701 controls the print unit 79 based on information received from the order station 5, and prints and outputs an accounting slip. The reading processing unit 702 obtains a decoded value of a code symbol such as a barcode printed on the accounting slip from the scanner 78, and transmits a signal indicating this value to the order station 5.

[0061] 9 is a diagram showing an example of an accounting slip. For example, the following is printed on the accounting slip: Call number, slip number, person in charge Menu (product name), quantity (order quantity), price ·Subtotal, tax excluded, total Chord symbols

[0062] The call number, slip number, menu, and quantity correspond to information related to the order (order information 553). The amount is the unit price of the item indicated on the menu multiplied by the number of items ordered. The subtotal is the total of the amounts. The exclusive tax is the amount of consumption tax applied to the subtotal. The total is the sum of the subtotal and the exclusive tax.

[0063] The code symbol is an image of a code, such as a bar code or a two-dimensional code, that can be read by the scanners 78 and 88. The code symbol is, for example, a coded (encoded) call number and slip number, and in this case, the call number and slip number can be obtained by decoding the code symbol.

[0064] The control unit 80 of the POS terminal 8 functions as a product registration unit 801 , a reading processing unit 802 , and a transaction processing unit 805 by the CPU 81 reading and executing the program 851 .

[0065] The reading processing unit 802 obtains a decoded value of a code symbol such as a barcode printed on the accounting slip from the scanner 88, and transmits a signal indicating this value to the order station 5.

[0066] The accounting processor 805 executes accounting for the order information 553 specified based on the value acquired by the reading processor 802 .

[0067] The product registration unit 801 performs sales registration processing for a product identified by input to the operation unit 87 or by reading a code symbol by the scanner 88 .

[0068] The control unit 90 of the display device 9 functions as a reception processing unit 901 and an update processing unit 902 as a result of the CPU 91 reading and executing the program 951 .

[0069] When the reception processing unit 901 receives information related to an order from the order station 5, it adds information to be displayed on the display unit 96. When the update processing unit 902 receives information from the order station 5 instructing an update of the display, it updates or deletes the information displayed on the display unit 96.

[0070] 10 is a diagram showing a display example of the display device 9. The display unit 96 displays a list with status as the item name. The status here corresponds to that of the order information 553, and specifically, is as follows. "Currently accepting" indicates the state immediately after acceptance and before cooking "Cooking" to indicate that the product is being cooked "Preparing for delivery" indicates that cooking is complete "Ready for pickup" indicates that a customer who has ordered a takeaway item is being called.

[0071] In each column of the list, a call number is entered, and the call number is written into the status column that matches the progress of the order that it represents.

[0072] The information processing system configured as above operates as follows: Fig. 11 is a sequence diagram showing the flow of processing performed by the information processing system.

[0073] First, when the user terminal 1 orders a product (food, menu) from the cloud-based order system 3 (step S1), the order system 3 stores information related to the order (step S2) and transmits the information to the order station 5 (step S3).

[0074] When the control unit 50 (reception processing unit 501) of the order station 5 receives the order information from the order receiving system 3, it stores the information in the storage unit 55 as order information 553 (step S4). Next, the reception processing unit 501 transmits the order information to the kitchen display 6, the kitchen printer 7, and the display device 9 (steps S5, S6, S7).

[0075] When the control unit 60 (reception processing unit 601) of the kitchen display 6 receives the order information from the order station 5, it adds information (records, rows in the list) to be displayed on the display unit 66 based on the received information (step S8). Note that the status of the record added at this time is "Accepting".

[0076] When the control unit 70 (printing processing unit 701) of the kitchen printer 7 receives the order information from the order station 5, it controls the printing unit 79 based on that information to print and output an accounting slip (step S9).

[0077] When the control unit 90 (reception processing unit 901) of the display device 9 receives order information from the order station 5, it adds the information to be displayed by the display unit 96 (i.e., the call number) to the status "Accepting" column based on that information (step S10).

[0078] The staff member in charge of cooking in the kitchen refers to the display on the kitchen display 6 and prepares the menu item with the status "Not yet prepared." Before starting cooking, the staff member touches the display position of the corresponding menu item on the display unit 66. This causes the operation unit 67 to accept the operation.

[0079] When the operation unit 67 of the kitchen display 6 accepts an operation, the control unit 60 (update processing unit 602) advances the status of the order displayed in the row that received the operation (step S11). Specifically, the control unit 60 changes (updates) the status of the corresponding row displayed in the display unit 66 from "Accepting" to "Cooking."

[0080] Furthermore, the update processing unit 602 transmits information indicating that the status has been changed in step S11 to the order station 5 (step S12). The control unit 50 (update processing unit 502) of the order station 5 that has received the information transmits the same to the display device 9 (step S13). The control unit 90 (update processing unit 902) of the display device 9 that has received the information advances (moves) the display position of the call number that matches the information to the next status column, "Cooking" (step S14).

[0081] When the kitchen staff member in charge of cooking has finished cooking, he / she refers to the display on the kitchen display 6 and touches the display position of the corresponding menu among the menus with the status of "cooking". This causes the operation unit 67 to accept the operation.

[0082] When the row that was operated in step S11 on the kitchen display 6 is operated again, the control unit 60 (update processing unit 602) advances the status of the order displayed on the row that was operated on (step S15). Specifically, the update processing unit 602 changes the status of the row from "cooking" to "completed" (delete).

[0083] Furthermore, the update processing unit 602 transmits information indicating that the status has been changed in step S15 to the order station 5 (step S16). The control unit 50 (update processing unit 502) of the order station 5 that has received the information transmits the same to the display device 9 (step S17). The control unit 90 (update processing unit 902) of the display device 9 that has received the information advances (moves) the display position of the call number that matches the information to the next status column, "Preparing for delivery" (step S18).

[0084] The waiter packs the cooked products together with a checkout slip. When packing is complete, the waiter has the scanner 78 of the kitchen printer 7 read the code symbol displayed on the checkout slip. The scanner 78 outputs the decoded value of the code symbol to the control unit 70.

[0085] When the control unit 70 (reading processing unit 702) of the kitchen printer 7 receives an input of a value obtained by decoded the code symbol on the accounting slip from the scanner 78 (step S19), it sends a signal indicating that value to the order station 5 (step S20). The control unit 50 (update processing unit 502) of the order station 5 that has received that information sends the same to the display device 9 (step S21). The control unit 90 (update processing unit 902) of the display device 9 that has received the same information advances (moves) the display position of the call number that matches the information to the next status column, "Ready for delivery" (step S22).

[0086] Here, if multiple invoice numbers are associated with one call number, the control unit 50 of the order station 5 checks in step S20 whether all invoice numbers associated with the call number have been received, and if not, waits. Once it is confirmed that all invoice numbers have been received, the control unit 50 proceeds with the processing (executes the processing of step S21).

[0087] A customer who wishes to receive an order for a call number that is displayed as "Ready for Delivery" on the display device 9 notifies a store clerk. The store clerk reads the code symbol on the bill attached to the packaged product with the scanner 88 of the POS terminal 8. The scanner 88 outputs the decoded value of the code symbol to the control unit 80.

[0088] After reading the code symbol, the store clerk checks the display 86 of the POS terminal 8. The control unit 50 of the order station 5, which received the information in step S24, obtains information related to the order for the call number and slip number indicated by the code symbol from the order information 553 and transmits it to the POS terminal 8. The control unit 80 of the POS terminal 8 that receives this information displays the order information on the display unit 86. If the display on the display 86 confirms that the transaction for the item has been completed in advance, the store clerk hands the item over to the customer and ends the process. If the item is an in-store transaction for which transaction has not yet been completed, the store clerk will complete the transaction and then hand the item over to the customer.

[0089] When the control unit 80 (reading processing unit 802) of the POS terminal 8 receives an input of a value obtained by decoded the code symbol on the accounting slip from the scanner 88 (step S23), it transmits a signal indicating that value to the order station 5 (step S24). The control unit 50 (update processing unit 502) of the order station 5 that has received that information transmits the same to the display device 9 (step S25). The control unit 90 (update processing unit 902) of the display device 9 that has received the same information erases (deletes) the call number (displayed in the "Ready for Delivery" status) that matches that information (step S26).

[0090] In a store equipped with an information processing system that operates in this way, when order information is received from the order receiving system 3, the order station 5 transmits the information to the kitchen terminal (kitchen display 6 and kitchen printer 7) and displays it on the display device 9. In this way, the order received by the order receiving system 3 is linked to the information processing system in the store. Furthermore, when a waiter operates the kitchen terminal or POS terminal 8, a signal corresponding to the operation is transmitted to the order station 5, and the order station 5 instructs the display device 9 to update the display. According to this embodiment, it is possible to eliminate the need to manually perform an operation to update the display on the display device 9. Therefore, the burden of operating the display device 9 can be reduced.
