Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a power tool that can be equipped with, for example, a rechargeable battery as a power source. [Background technology]
[0002] If an electric power tool with a battery attached is dropped, the relatively heavy battery is likely to strike the floor first and be damaged. For example, a rechargeable battery has a roughly hexahedral box shape and can be slid into the battery attachment section on the tool body. The battery has an upper housing that supports a terminal receiving section to which the power terminal on the tool body is connected, and a lower housing that houses multiple cells. The upper housing is provided with a slide rail that engages with the battery attachment section. The battery is attached to the lower part of the rear side of the tool body, opposite the tip output section.
[0003] When the power tool is dropped, the corners of the lower housing of the battery hit the floor first. As a result, the impact of the drop acts on the battery as a shear force that separates the upper housing and the lower housing from each other in the front-rear direction. This causes damage to the cells housed in the lower housing, for example. Patent Document 1 discloses a technology for suppressing chattering by providing a power terminal electrically connected to the battery that is displaceable and spring-biased with respect to the tool body. [0004] [Patent Document 1] DE 102005020358 A1 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] The present disclosure aims to improve the durability of a battery when, for example, a power tool is dropped. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the electric power tool has, for example, a battery mounting section to which a first part of a battery is slidably mounted, and a power supply terminal section that is slidably provided on the battery mounting section and electrically connected to a connection terminal provided on the first part of the battery. The electric power tool has, for example, an impact receiving section that, together with the power supply terminal section, comes into contact with a second part of the battery that is farther from the power supply terminal section than the first part when the battery is displaced relative to the battery mounting section.
[0007] Therefore, when the electric power tool is dropped, for example, the rear corner of the second part, which is farther from the power terminal part than the first part of the battery, hits the floor surface. Since the power terminal part and the battery are displaceable with respect to the battery mounting part, the impact of the drop is not applied to the first part of the battery. The impact of the drop is received by the second part abutting on the impact receiving part. This prevents the impact of the drop from acting on the battery as a shear force in the impact application direction (shear force that displaces the first part and the second part relative to the impact application direction and the opposite direction). This increases the durability of the battery when an impact is applied, for example, when the electric power tool is dropped or when the rear corner of the second part of the battery hits another part. [Figure 10] FIG. 1 is a left side view of the power tool, showing a state in which the power tool has been dropped and a rear corner of the battery has collided with the floor surface. In this drawing, the up-down direction of the power tool is shown shifted clockwise with respect to the direction of gravity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0009] In one or more embodiments, for example, the power tool has an elastic body that biases the power terminal toward the normal position, so that the power terminal is held in a fixed normal position during normal use except when the power tool is dropped or otherwise subjected to shock.
[0010] In one or more embodiments, for example, the biasing force of the elastic body does not act on the power supply terminal portion when the power supply terminal portion is in the normal position, and therefore, when an impact is applied, the power supply terminal portion can be easily displaced without being subjected to the biasing force of the elastic body.
[0011] In one or more embodiments, for example, the elastic body is held in an elastically deformed state by a holding portion provided on the tool body, which improves the ease of assembly of the elastic body and the power terminal portion.
[0012] In one or more embodiments, for example, the mounting direction of the battery in the battery mounting portion and the sliding direction of the power terminal portion in the battery mounting portion are the same, so that the durability against a drop, etc., can be improved for a battery that is mounted, for example, in a front-to-rear direction along the axial direction of the tool body.
[0013] In one or more embodiments, for example, the power supply terminal portion has a front sliding guide and a rear sliding guide that are slidably supported on the battery mounting portion at the front and rear ends in the sliding direction, respectively, so that the power supply terminal portion slides smoothly in the mounting direction.
[0014] In one or more embodiments, for example, the power tool has an elastic body that biases the power terminal part toward the normal position. For example, the front sliding guide is a front rail, and the rear sliding guide is a rear rail. For example, the front rail of the power terminal part holds the elastic body. Therefore, the elastic body is held by a compact configuration, and the elastic body can be easily assembled.
[0015] In one or more embodiments, for example, the electric power tool has an elastic body that biases the power supply terminal portion toward the normal position. For example, the elastic body is a compression coil spring. For example, the power supply terminal portion has a main body side terminal that is electrically connected to the connection terminal of the battery. For example, the elastic bodies are arranged on both sides in a direction perpendicular to the mounting direction of the battery. For example, the main body side terminal is located between the elastic bodies on both sides. Therefore, the biasing force of the elastic body acts on the power supply terminal portion without being biased to one side in the direction perpendicular to the mounting direction. This maintains a good connection state of the main body side terminal with the battery connection terminal when the electric power tool is dropped, etc. Also, the power supply terminal portion is returned to the normal position with a smooth sliding motion.
[0016] In one or more embodiments, an output unit operated by a motor is provided, for example, at the front of the tool body. For example, the battery mounting section is arranged so that the center of gravity of the battery is located behind the center of gravity of the tool body with the battery mounted. Therefore, for example, when the power tool is dropped, the battery hits the floor or the like first. In this case, the impact of the drop is applied to, for example, a second part of the battery. The second part abuts against the impact receiving section, and the tool body receives the impact of the drop, thereby reducing damage to the battery.
[0017] In one or more embodiments, for example, the power tool is a nail gun, and thus the durability of the battery is increased in the event that the nail gun to which the battery is attached is dropped or otherwise affected. EXAMPLES
[0018] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in FIG. 1, a gas spring type driving tool that uses gas pressure as a thrust for driving a driving tool is exemplified as an example of a power tool 1. The power tool 1 has a tool body 10 incorporating a driving mechanism. Although not shown in the figure, the driving mechanism includes a piston that reciprocates within a cylinder. A driver that strikes the driving tool is connected to the piston. When the piston moves forward by gas pressure, the driver strikes the driving tool and ejects it.
[0019] A driving nose 2 from which driving tools are driven is provided at the front of the tool body 10. A driver reciprocates within the driving passage of the driving nose 2. A magazine 3 that stores a large number of driving tools is connected to the driving nose 2. Driving tools are supplied one by one from the magazine 3 into the driving passage of the driving nose 2.
[0020] A grip 4 that is held by a user is provided on the underside of the tool body 10. The grip 4 extends downward. A switch lever 5 that is pulled by the user with the fingertip is provided on the front surface of the base of the grip 4. When the switch lever 5 is pulled, the driver moves forward and the driving tool is ejected. The user holding the grip 4 is positioned behind the power tool 1 (to the right in FIG. 1).
[0021] A lift section 6 incorporating a lift mechanism is provided on the side of the tool body 10 in front of the grip 4. The lift mechanism has one lift wheel (not visible in the figure) that is rotated by an electric motor 6a. The lift mechanism returns the driver to a rear standby position. The lift wheel rotates while engaged with the driver, returning the driver to the rear standby position. When driving, the lift wheel is disengaged from the driver, and the driver moves in the driving direction due to gas pressure. This causes the driving tool to be ejected from the tip of the driving nose section 2. For this reason, the driving nose section 2 provided at the front of the tool body 10 corresponds to the output section operated by the electric motor 6a.
[0022] In this specification, the directions of the members and components are defined as follows. For the front-to-rear direction, the direction in which the driving tool is ejected is defined as the front, and the side of the user holding the grip 4 is defined as the rear. For the up-down direction, the direction in which the grip 4 extends from the tool body 10 is defined as the downward direction. For the left-to-right direction, the user holding the grip 4 is used as the reference.
[0023] A battery mounting section 20 is provided straddling between the lower part of the grip 4 and the lower part of the lift section 6. An extension section 7 is provided in front of the battery mounting section 20 so as to extend downward. The lower part of the magazine 3 is connected to the extension section 7.
[0024] The housings forming the outer shells of the tool body 10, grip 4, lift section 6, extension section 7, and battery mounting section 20 are continuous with each other to form a single housing 11. The housing 11 has a left and right half structure in which a left housing 12 and a right housing 13 are butt-joined to each other. A rubber guard layer 14 covers a portion of the outer surface of the housing 11. The guard layer 14 prevents damage to other parts such as the floor surface F.
[0025] One battery 40 is removably attached to the underside of the battery mounting section 20. As shown by the outlined arrow in the figure, the battery 40 is slid forward to be mounted in the battery mounting section 20. The battery 40 is slid backward to be removed from the battery mounting section 20. As shown in Figure 2, a pair of left and right slide rails 21, 22 and a power terminal section 23 are provided on the underside of the battery mounting section 20. The battery 40 is mechanically mounted in the battery mounting section 20 by sliding it forward via the slide rails 21, 22.
[0026] As shown in Fig. 3, the battery 40 is a slide-mounted lithium ion battery having a roughly hexahedral box shape. The battery 40 has an upper first section 41 (upper housing) and a lower second section 42 (lower housing). The first section 41 has a roughly flat plate shape, and the second section 42 has a case body that is open upward. The first section 41 is joined to the top of the second section 42 so as to close the opening of the second section 42. The first section 41 functions as a lid that closes the opening of the second section 42.
[0027] A positive connection terminal 43 and a negative connection terminal 44 are provided in the first section 41. A large number of battery cells (not shown in the figure) are housed in the second section 42. A control terminal 45 for transmitting and receiving control signals is provided between the connection terminals 43 and 44.
[0028] A pair of left and right rail receiving portions 46, 47 are provided on the first portion 41. The right rail receiving portion 47 is provided to the right of the positive electrode connection terminal 43. The left rail receiving portion 46 is provided to the left of the negative electrode connection terminal 44. The battery 40 is mounted on the battery mounting portion 20 by sliding the slide rails 21, 22 of the battery mounting portion 20 so as to enter along the bottom of the left and right rail receiving portions 46, 47. The slide rails 21, 22 enter below the rail receiving portions 46, 47, respectively, thereby restricting downward displacement of the battery 40 (in a direction perpendicular to the mounting direction).
[0029] A step portion 49 is integrally formed on the rear portion of the first part 41. The step portion 49 protrudes upward. The step portion 49 has a generally mountain-like shape in side view. A hook 48 is provided on the front side of the step portion 49. The hook 48 is provided so as to be displaceable up and down relative to the step portion 49. The hook 48 is spring-biased towards the locked position protruding upward. The hook 48 can be pushed downward to the unlocked position by pressing down an unlock button 48a (see Figure 4) provided on the rear side of the step portion 49 against the spring bias.
[0030] 2, a V-groove-shaped locking recess 28 is provided on the underside of the battery mounting section 20, behind the power supply terminal section 23. When the battery 40 is mounted in the battery mounting section 20, a hook 48 enters the locking recess 28. This restricts displacement of the battery 40 in the removal direction from the battery mounting section 20. When the battery 40 is mounted, the hook 48 that has entered the locking recess 28 is permitted to move in the front-rear direction relative to the locking recess 28 within a certain range in accordance with the displacement of the power supply terminal section 23 and the battery 40 in their normal positions.
[0031] 1, when the battery 40 is attached to the battery attachment section 20, the positions of the various parts are appropriately set so that a clearance (first clearance C1) is generated between, for example, the step 49 and the rear part (step facing part 11a) of the housing 11 of the battery attachment section 20. Displacement of the battery 40 in the front-rear direction relative to the battery attachment section 20 is permitted within the range of the first clearance C1. As will be described later, in order to allow the battery 40 attached to the battery attachment section 20 to be displaceable in the front-rear direction, the power supply terminal section 23 is supported so as to be displaceable in the front-rear direction.
[0032] Cylindrical rubber pins 29 are embedded in the underside of the battery mounting section 20 on both the left and right sides of the lock recess 28. When the battery 40 is attached to the battery mounting section 20, the left and right rubber pins 29 are pressed against the upper parts of the step portions 49. This prevents the battery 40 from wobbling when attached. By pressing down the unlock button 48a to return the hook 48 to the lower unlock position, the battery 40 can be slid backward and removed from the battery mounting section 20.
[0033] Two bosses 42a are provided on the front surface of the second part 42 of the battery 40. Screws for threadedly connecting the first part 41 and the second part 42 are inserted into the left and right bosses 42a. The left and right bosses 42a have a generally semicircular ridge shape in cross section, and extend vertically and substantially parallel to each other.
[0034] 2, the power supply terminal section 23 is provided between the left and right slide rails 21, 22. The power supply terminal section 23 has a base section 24, a positive terminal 25, a negative terminal 26, and a control terminal 27. The positive terminal 25 on the right side and the negative terminal 26 on the left side correspond to the main body side terminals for supplying power. The control terminal 27 for transmitting and receiving a control signal to and from the battery 40 is disposed between the positive terminal 25 and the negative terminal 26.
[0035] As shown in Fig. 5, the rectangular flat controller 8 is installed above the power supply terminal unit 23. The positive terminal 25, the negative terminal 26, and the control terminal 27 are electrically connected to the controller 8. The controller 8 has installed therein a control board for mainly controlling the operation of the electric motor 6a of the lift unit 6.
[0036] The power supply terminal portion 23 is supported so as to be displaceable in the front-rear direction (the direction in which the battery is attached and removed) relative to the battery mounting portion 20. As shown in Fig. 8, a rear rail 24a is provided at the rear of the base portion 24. The rear rail 24a extends long in the left-right direction along the rear of the base portion 24 and protrudes rearward. As shown in Figs. 4, 5 and 6, a bifurcated rear support portion 16 is provided on the rear inner surface of the housing 11 at the rear of the battery mounting portion 20. The rear rail 24a is supported so as to be displaceable back and forth while being sandwiched between the rear support portions 16 from above and below. This allows the rear side of the power supply terminal portion 23 to be supported so as to be slidable back and forth relative to the battery mounting portion 20 (housing 11).
[0037] As shown in Fig. 8, a pair of left and right front rails 24b are provided at the front of the base portion 24. The left and right front rails 24b extend long in the front-rear direction and protrude to the left and right. As shown in Figs. 4, 5 and 6, at the front of the battery mounting portion 20, front support portions 17 are provided symmetrically on the left and right inner surfaces of the housing 11. The left and right front rails 24b are each supported by the front support portions 17 so as to be displaceable forward and backward. As a result, the front side of the power supply terminal portion 23 is supported so as to be slidable forward and backward relative to the battery mounting portion 20 (housing 11).
[0038] The power terminal portion 23 is supported so as to be slidable back and forth relative to the battery mounting portion 20, so that the position of the power terminal portion 23 relative to the battery mounting portion 20 in the normal use state of the power tool 1 (normal position) can be displaced back and forth within a range of several millimeters, for example. When the power tool 1 is dropped or the mounted battery 40 is hit against another part, or other impact is applied, a large impact is applied forward to the battery 40. When such an impact is applied, the battery 40 and the power terminal portion 23 are displaced forward from the normal position. The normal use state of the power tool 1 means use in a state in which the battery 40 is not subjected to a large impact, such as by being dropped and hitting the floor surface F or by hitting the battery 40 against another part. When the power tool 1 is normally used, the battery 40 and the power terminal portion 23 are located in the normal position.
[0039] An elastic body 30 is provided in front of the power supply terminal 23 to return the power supply terminal 23 to its normal position. Walls 24c are provided on the inner edges of the left and right front rails 24b. The left and right walls 24c extend downward in parallel to each other. Between the left and right walls 24c, the connection part 25a of the positive terminal 25, the connection part 26a of the negative terminal 26, and the connection part 27a of the control terminal 27 are arranged. A wall 24d is provided below each of the connection parts 25a, 26a, and 27a so as to protrude forward. The wall 24d prevents interference of other members with each of the connection parts 25a, 26a, and 27a. Lead wires are connected to each of the connection parts 25a, 26a, and 27a. Each lead wire is connected to the controller 8. Various lead wires 8a connected to the upper surface side of the controller 8 are shown in Figures 4 and 5.
[0040] Walls 24e are provided at the rear of the left and right front rails 24b. The left and right walls 24e each extend in the left-right direction. A flat plate-shaped protrusion 24f is provided on the front surface of the left and right wall portions 24e. The left and right protrusions 24f each protrude forward. The left and right protrusions 24f each abut against the rear end of an elastic body 30. A compression coil spring is used for the left and right elastic bodies 30.
[0041] In front of the power terminal portion 23, rectangularly partitioned holding portions 15 are provided on the inner surface of the left housing 12 and the inner surface of the right housing 13. One elastic body 30 is housed in each of the left and right holding portions 15. The left and right holding portions 15 are provided symmetrically. The right holding portion 15 shown in FIG. 9 will be described. The left holding portion 15 has a similar configuration. The holding portion 15 has a front wall 15a, a rear wall 15b, an upper wall 15c, and a lower wall 15d.
[0042] The left and right elastic bodies 30 are housed in the holding portion 15 in an elastically deformed state. Therefore, the front and rear parts of the left and right elastic bodies 30 are elastically pressed against the front wall 15a and the rear wall 15b, respectively. The front wall 15a and the rear wall 15b are provided with rectangular window portions 15e and 15f, respectively. The window portions 15e and 15f are provided in the front wall 15a and the rear wall 15b in the form of cuts extending from the left end portions to the right.
[0043] The protrusions 24f of the power terminal portion 23 enter the rear window portions 15f of the left and right holding portions 15. The power terminal portion 23 is supported so as to be slidable back and forth with the left and right protrusions 24f respectively entering the window portions 15f. When the power terminal portion 23 is in the normal position, the protrusions 24f abut against the rear portion of the elastic body 30, or are held in a position with a small gap between them and the rear portion of the elastic body 30. The biasing force of the elastic body 30 is received by the rear wall 15b. Therefore, when the power terminal portion 23 is in the normal position, the biasing force of the elastic body 30 does not act on the left and right protrusions 24f.
[0044] When the power tool 1 is dropped or the like, a large forward impact is applied to the battery 40, displacing the power terminal portion 23 and the battery 40 forward from their normal positions. This displaces the left and right protrusions 24f forward and presses them against the rear of the elastic body 30. At this stage, the biasing force of the elastic body 30 acts on the power terminal portion 23 via the left and right protrusions 24f. The biasing force of the elastic body 30 returns the power terminal portion 23 to its normal rear position.
[0045] 4, 5, 6 and 8, the inner openings of the left and right holding portions 15 are almost completely blocked by the wall portions 24c of the power terminal portion 23. This prevents the left and right elastic bodies 30 from falling out of the holding portions 15 by the wall portions 24c. This maintains the state in which the elastic bodies 30 are held in the holding portions 15, and improves the ease of assembly of the elastic bodies 30 to the holding portions 15.
[0046] An impact receiving portion 31 is provided in front of the battery mounting portion 20 and on the rear surface of the extension portion 7. When the power supply terminal portion 23 is located within the range of the normal position, a clearance (second clearance C2) is generated between the front surface (boss portion 42a) of the battery 40 and the impact receiving portion 31. The positions of the various portions are set so that the second clearance C2 is always smaller than the first clearance C1 between the step portion 49 of the battery 40 and the step portion facing portion 11a of the housing 11 (first clearance C1>second clearance C2). The normal positions of the power supply terminal portion 23 and the battery 40 are set within a range in which the second clearance C2 does not become zero.
[0047] When the battery 40 moves forward due to an impact such as when the power tool 1 is dropped, the front surface of the second part 42 of the battery 40 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31. As a result, the impact S applied to the battery 40 when the battery 40 is dropped is received by the impact receiving portion 31. Even if the second part 42 of the battery 40 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31 and the second clearance C2 becomes zero, the first clearance C1 on the first part 41 side does not become zero. Therefore, the first part 41 does not abut against the step portion facing portion 11a of the housing 11. Alternatively, the second part 42 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31 first, and then the step 49 of the first part abuts against the step portion facing portion 11a of the housing 11. As a result, the impact when the battery 40 is dropped is prevented from being directly applied to the first part 41 or is reduced.
[0048] As shown in FIG. 2, the shock receiving portion 31 has a concave shape that is one step lower from the left and right side portions toward the center. The left and right side portions are provided with a plurality of ribs 31b that are inclined toward the central recess 31a. The plurality of ribs 31b are arranged vertically in parallel on the left and right side portions. When the battery 40 is displaced forward due to an impact, the left and right boss portions 42a of the second portion 42 abut against the plurality of ribs 31b, respectively. The left and right boss portions 42a abut against the plurality of ribs 31b, thereby guiding the battery 40 to the center in the left-right direction. This allows the battery 40 to abut against the shock receiving portion 31 efficiently. The plurality of ribs 31b efficiently absorbs the impact applied to the battery 40.
[0049] FIG. 10 shows the state where the power tool 1 has fallen to the floor surface F. Reference symbol G1 in FIG. 10 indicates the position of the center of gravity of the power tool 1 with the battery 40 removed from the battery mounting section 20. Reference symbol G2 in FIG. 10 indicates the position of the center of gravity of the power tool 1 with the battery 40 attached to the battery mounting section 20. Reference symbol G3 in FIG. 10 indicates the position of the center of gravity of the battery 40 alone. The battery 40 is mounted on the rear side and below the tool body 10. Therefore, the center of gravity G2 of the power tool 1 with the battery 40 mounted is located rearward and below the center of gravity G1 of the power tool 1 without the battery 40 mounted. The position of the center of gravity G2 relative to the center of gravity G1 varies depending on factors such as the output size of the mounted battery 40. If the battery 40 becomes larger, the center of gravity G2 will move further rearward or downward relative to the center of gravity G1.
[0050] The battery mounting section 20 is disposed so that the center of gravity G3 of the battery 40 is located rearward of the center of gravity G2 of the power tool 1 with respect to the output section (driving nose section 2). For this reason, when the rear corner 42b of the second section 42 of the battery 40 falls freely in the direction of gravity G0 with the rear corner 42b facing downward as shown in Fig. 10, it is assumed that the rear corner 42b will first collide with the floor surface F. At the time of this collision, the center of gravity G2 of the tool body 10 is located on or near a perpendicular line passing through the rear corner 42b, so that an impact load due to the entire weight of the power tool 1 is applied to the rear corner 42b of the battery 40. This impact load acts on the battery 40 as an impact S in the direction of the outline arrow (mounting direction).
[0051] The battery 40 is displaced forward by the impact S when dropped, and the front surface of the second portion 42 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31 of the extension portion 7. As a result, the impact S when dropped is received by the extension portion 7 and the electric power tool 1. The first clearance C1 is appropriately set so that a clearance is secured between, for example, the step 49 of the first portion 41 and the step facing portion 11a of the housing 11 when the front surface of the second portion 42 of the battery 40 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31. Therefore, when the second portion 42 abuts against the impact receiving portion 31, the first portion 41 does not abut against the electric power tool 1 side (the step facing portion 11a of the housing 11). The first portion 41 is displaced forward together with the second portion 42 while receiving the urging force of the left and right elastic bodies 30 via the power terminal portion 23.
[0052] When the battery 40 is dropped, the first part 41 does not come into contact with the power tool 1 due to the first clearance C1. Alternatively, since the first clearance C1 is set to be larger than the second clearance C2, the second part 42 comes into contact with the housing 11 (shock receiving part 31) first when the battery 40 is dropped. This significantly prevents the impact S when the battery 40 is dropped from acting as a shear force in a direction that shifts the first part 41 and the second part 42 relative to each other in the front-rear direction. This prevents, for example, breakage of wiring etc. routed between the first part 41 and the second part 42, and also prevents damage to the cells, thereby improving the durability of the battery 40.
[0053] According to the embodiment, for example, when the electric power tool 1 is dropped, the rear corner 42b of the second part 42, which is farther from the power terminal part 23 than the first part 41 of the battery 40, hits the floor surface F. Since the power terminal part 23 and the battery 40 are displaceable with respect to the battery mounting part 20, the impact S at the time of the drop is not applied to the first part 41 of the battery 40. The impact S at the time of the drop is received by the second part 42 abutting against the impact receiving part 31. This prevents the impact S at the time of the drop from acting on the battery as a shear force in the impact application direction (a shear force that displaces the first part 41 and the second part 42 from each other in the impact application direction and the opposite direction). This improves the durability of the battery 40 when an impact is applied, for example, when the electric power tool 1 is dropped or when the rear corner 42b of the second part 42 of the battery 40 hits another part.
[0054] According to the embodiment, the power tool 1 has an elastic body 30 that biases the power terminal portion 23 toward the normal position. Therefore, in a normal use state except when an impact is applied when the power tool 1 is dropped, the power terminal portion 23 is held in the normal position within a certain range.
[0055] According to this embodiment, in the normal position, the biasing force of the elastic body 30 does not act on the power supply terminal portion 23. Therefore, when an impact is applied, the power supply terminal portion 23 is not subjected to the biasing force of the elastic body 30 and can be easily displaced.
[0056] According to the embodiment, the elastic body 30 is held in an elastically deformed state by the holding portion 15 provided on the tool body 10 (housing 11). Therefore, the elastic body 30 and the power terminal portion 23 can be easily assembled.
[0057] According to the embodiment, the mounting direction of the battery 40 relative to the battery mounting portion 20 is the same as the sliding direction of the power terminal portion 23 relative to the battery mounting portion 20. Therefore, the durability of the battery 40, which is mounted along the axial direction (front-rear direction) of the tool body 10, against a drop or the like can be improved.
[0058] According to this embodiment, the power supply terminal portion 23 has a front rail 24b and a rear rail 24a that are slidably supported on the battery mounting portion 20 at the front and rear portions in the sliding direction, respectively. Therefore, the power supply terminal portion 23 slides smoothly in the mounting direction.
[0059] According to the embodiment, the elastic body 30 is a compression coil spring. The front rail 24b of the power terminal portion 23 holds the elastic body 30 so that it does not come off from the holding portion 15. Therefore, the elastic body 30 is held by a compact configuration, and the assembly of the elastic body 30 is improved.
[0060] According to the embodiment, the power supply terminal section 23 has main body side terminals (positive terminal 25, negative terminal 26, control terminal 27) electrically connected to the connection terminals 43, 44, 45 of the battery 40. The elastic bodies 30 are arranged on both sides in the left and right direction perpendicular to the mounting direction of the battery 40. The main body side terminals are located between the left and right elastic bodies 30. Therefore, the urging force of the elastic bodies 30 acts on the power supply terminal section 23 without being biased to one side in the left and right direction perpendicular to the mounting direction. This maintains a good connection state of the main body side terminals (power supply terminal section 23) to the connection terminals 43, 44, 45 of the battery 40 when the power tool 1 is dropped, etc. In addition, the power supply terminal section 23 is returned to the normal position with a smooth sliding motion.
[0061] According to the embodiment, an output section (driving nose section 2) operated by an electric motor 6a is provided at the front of the tool body 10. The battery mounting section 20 is arranged so that the center of gravity G3 of the battery 40 is located rearward of the center of gravity G1 (G2) of the tool body 10 (power tool 1). Therefore, when the power tool 1 is dropped, the battery 40 hits the floor F first. In this case, the impact S at the time of the drop is applied to the second section 42 of the battery 40. The second section 42, not the first section 41, abuts against the impact receiving section 31, and the impact S at the time of the drop is received by the tool body 10. As a result, a shear force in the front-rear direction separating the first section 41 and the second section 42 is no longer applied, and damage to the battery 40 is reduced.
[0062] According to the embodiment, the power tool 1 is a nail gun. Therefore, the durability of the battery 40 is improved in the case where the nail gun to which the battery 40 is attached as a power source is dropped or the like.
[0063] Various modifications can be made to the embodiment. For example, although the elastic body 30 is a compression coil spring, other types of elastic bodies such as leaf springs, urethane rubber, air dampers, etc. can be used instead.
[0064] Although a pair of left and right elastic bodies 30 is illustrated, for example, a single elastic body may be disposed in the center in the left-right direction. A tension spring may be disposed as an elastic body to the side or rear of the power terminal to return the power terminal to its normal position.
[0065] In the embodiments, a nail gun is shown as an example of the power tool 1, but the support structure of the power terminal portion 23 and the shock absorbing structure of the battery 40 shown as examples can be widely applied to other power tools, such as drilling tools, cutting tools, gardening tools such as hedge trimmers, rechargeable hand cleaners, fans, etc.
