Abstract

To provide a rain gauge which is easy to install and maintain, and a rainwater container for the rain gauge.SOLUTION: A rain gauge includes: a rainwater container 56 having an open first end and a closed second end with the second end positioned below the first end to store rainwater inside; a basin 52 fixed to the first end for guiding rainfall into the rainwater container 56; an ultrasonic sensor which measures the amount of rainwater in the rainwater container 56; and a drainage part which is attached to the rainwater container 56 and automatically drains rainwater from the rainwater container 56 according to the siphon principle when the rainwater in the rainwater container 56 reaches a certain amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
