Multi-directional input device

Abstract

To provide a multi-directional input device which offers a long product life and desired non-linear reaction force characteristics against tilting operations of an operating shaft.SOLUTION: A multi-directional input device 1 is provided, comprising an upper housing 61, a first rotary member 62a held by the upper housing 61 so as to be rotatable about a first axis direction, a second rotary member 62b held by the upper housing 61 so as to be rotatable about a second axis direction, an operating shaft 63 configured to rotate the first rotary member 62a and the second rotary member 62b in response to a tilting operation performed by a user, and a holding mechanism 66 held by the upper housing 61 to elastically hold the operating shaft 63 in a neutral position. The holding mechanism 66 comprises an upper leaf spring 9a and a lower leaf spring 9b fixedly held by the upper housing 61 so as to face each other in a height direction with a distance in between. The operating shaft 63 is connected to inner frames 92 of the upper leaf spring 9a and the lower leaf spring 9b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
