Description

[Technical field]

[0001] This specification discloses a feeder status display system and feeder-related technology that includes multiple component mounters along a circuit board transport path and a feeder storage cabinet that stores feeders that are attached and detached to the feeder setting section of each component mounter. [Background technology]

[0002] In recent years, as described in Patent Document 1 (International Publication WO2017 / 141365), there has been a component mounting line in which a feeder storage cabinet for storing feeders to be set in the feeder set units of multiple component mounters that make up the component mounting line and feeders removed from the feeder set units is arranged upstream of the component mounting line, and an automatic exchange device is moved across the feeder storage cabinet and the multiple component mounters so that the automatic exchange device removes feeders from the feeder storage cabinet and sets them in the feeder set units of one of the component mounters, and also recovers feeders removed from the feeder set units of one of the component mounters back into the feeder storage cabinet.

[0003] In a component mounting line equipped with such an automatic exchange device, as described in Patent Document 2 (International Publication WO2018 / 127956), a feeder transporting device is arranged to move between a work area where a worker works and a feeder storage facility, and at the work area, the worker loads a replacement feeder onto the feeder transporting device, which transports the replacement feeder to the feeder storage facility, where the feeder transporting device transfers the replacement feeder to the feeder storage facility and also transfers the replaced feeder that has been collected in the feeder storage facility onto the feeder transporting device before returning to the work area. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0004] [Patent Document 1] International Publication No. WO2017 / 141365 [Patent Document 2] International Publication No. WO2018 / 127956 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] In a component mounting line equipped with an automatic exchange device as disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2 above, the automatic exchange device automatically performs feeder replacement work for the feeder setting section of each component mounting machine, so workers must supply and retrieve feeders from a feeder storage facility located upstream of the component mounting line, or supply and retrieve feeders from a feeder transport device at a work location away from the component mounting line.

[0006] Among the feeders that workers retrieve from the feeder storage or feeder transport device, some can be reused as is in later production, but there are also feeders that cannot be reused as is (feeders that require adjustment work, tape reel replacement work, etc.), such as feeders that stopped during production due to an error such as a component pickup error, or feeders that are out of parts or have only a few parts remaining.

[0007] However, since it is difficult for workers to visually determine from the appearance of a feeder loaded in a feeder storage unit or feeder transport device whether it can be reused or not, there is a possibility that even if the feeder that a worker retrieves from the feeder storage unit or feeder transport device cannot be reused in its current state, the worker may mistakenly determine that it can be reused and reuse it as is. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] The invention according to claim 1 comprises: a plurality of component mounters arranged along a transport path for circuit boards; a feeder storage unit for storing feeders to be set in the feeder setting units of the plurality of component mounters and feeders removed from the feeder setting units; a status display unit provided on an end surface or an upper end surface of the feeder in a removal direction and displaying a status of the feeder; a rewritable non-volatile storage unit provided in the feeder and configured to store and hold information on the status of the feeder to be displayed on the status display unit; a control unit that stores information on the state of the feeder set in the feeder setting unit during production in the storage unit; a power supply unit provided in the feeder storage unit, supplying power to the feeder collected from the component mounter to the feeder storage unit and displaying the status of the feeder stored in the storage unit of the feeder on the status display unit; The configuration is equipped with the above.

[0009] In this configuration, a status display unit is provided on the end face or upper end face of the feeder stored in the feeder storage unit in a position that is easily visible from the worker's side, and this status display unit displays the status of the feeder, so that the worker can easily know the status of the feeder just by looking at the display on the status display unit of the feeder stored in the feeder storage unit. This allows the worker to easily determine by visual inspection whether the feeder to be retrieved from the feeder storage unit can be reused as is. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] Two embodiments, Examples 1 and 2, disclosed in this specification will be described below. EXAMPLES

[0012] The first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS.

[0013] First, the configuration of a component mounting line 10 will be described with reference to FIGS.

[0014] The component mounting line 10 is configured by arranging multiple component mounters 12 along the transport direction (X direction) of the circuit board 11, and on the board entrance side of the component mounting line 10, there are installed a solder printer (not shown) that prints solder on the circuit board 11, a feeder storage room 19 that stores cassette-type feeders 14 (see Figures 4 and 5), etc.

[0015] As shown in FIG. 2, each component mounter 12 is equipped with two conveyors 13 for transporting circuit boards, a mounting head 15 that replaceably holds suction nozzles (not shown) that pick up components supplied from a cassette-type feeder 14 and mount them on the circuit board 11, a head moving device 16 that moves the mounting head 15 in the XY directions (left-right and front-back directions), and a display device 23 such as an LCD display or CRT (see FIG. 1).

[0016] Each component mounter 12 on the component mounting line 10 transports the circuit board 11 transported from the upstream component mounter 12 to a predetermined position on a conveyor 13 and clamps the circuit board 11 with a clamping mechanism (not shown), picks up a component supplied from a cassette-type feeder 14 with a suction nozzle of a mounting head 15, moves the component from the suction position to an imaging position, images the component from below with a component imaging camera (not shown) to determine the amount of deviation in the suction position of the component, etc., and then moves the mounting head 15 above the circuit board 11 so as to correct the amount of deviation in the suction position of the component, and mounts the component on the circuit board 11 to produce a component-mounted board.

[0017] Next, the configuration of the cassette-type feeder 14 will be described with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, a reel accommodating space 33 is provided in a thin box-shaped feeder body 31 of feeder 14 for replaceably (detachably) accommodating a tape reel 32 around which a component supply tape (not shown) is wound. A reel cover 34 for covering the lower portion of tape reel 32 is provided in a lower portion of reel accommodating space 33. A reel presser 35 for holding tape reel 32 set in reel accommodating space 33 in a set state is provided in an upper portion of reel accommodating space 33 so as to be pivotable to open and close with both sides of its upper end serving as fulcrums.

[0018] When removing the tape reel 32 from the reel accommodating space 33, the reel presser 35 is rotated upward about both upper ends thereof as fulcrums to open the upper part of the reel accommodating space 33, and the upper part of the tape reel 32 in the reel accommodating space 33 is grasped by hand and tilted slightly towards the front while pulling out the tape reel 32 diagonally upward. When setting the tape reel 32 in the reel accommodating space 33, the lower part of the tape reel 32 is inserted diagonally upward into the inside of the reel cover 34 in the reel accommodating space 33 with the reel presser 35 open, and the setting of the tape reel 32 in the reel accommodating space 33 is completed by closing the reel presser 35.

[0019] In this case, a short shaft (not shown) that fits into the central hole 36 of the tape reel 32 may be provided in the center of the reel accommodating space 33, and the short shaft may rotatably support the tape reel 32. When this configuration is adopted, it is preferable to make the length of the shaft shorter than the length of the central hole 36 of the tape reel 32 (for example, 1 / 2 to 1 / 3 the length) so that the shaft that fits into the central hole 36 of the tape reel 32 does not hinder the attachment and detachment of the tape reel 32. Alternatively, a configuration may be adopted in which a plurality of rollers (not shown) are provided along the outer periphery of the tape reel 32 on the lower side of the reel accommodating space 33, and the outer periphery of the tape reel 32 is rotatably received and supported by these plurality of rollers.

[0020] A component suction position for suctioning components with a suction nozzle (not shown) of component mounter 12 (see FIG. 2) is set at a position on the upper end surface of feeder body 31 close to the end surface on the mounting direction side of feeder body 31. A tape guide 37 is provided below the upper end surface of feeder body 31 to guide the component supply tape pulled out from tape reel 32 to the component suction position.

[0021] In the feeder body 31, the space between the reel accommodation space 33 and the end surface part of the feeder body 31 on the mounting direction side serves as an electrical equipment accommodation space 40. In this electrical equipment accommodation space 40, various electrical equipment is provided, such as a tape feed device 38 (see FIG. 9) that pulls out the component supply tape from the tape reel 32 in the reel accommodation space 33 and pitch-feeds it to a component suction position, a control unit 39 (see FIG. 9) that controls the pitch-feed operation, and a rewritable non-volatile storage unit 41 that stores and holds information on the state of the feeder 14, which will be described later. The rewritable non-volatile storage unit 41 is composed of a storage medium (e.g., a flash memory, an EEPROM, a HDD, an SSD, etc.) that can write data while the power is on and that holds the stored data even when the power is off.

[0022] Two positioning pins 42, 42 (positioning parts) for positioning with respect to a feeder set part 51 (see Figs. 6 and 7) of the component mounter 12 are provided at a predetermined interval in the vertical direction on the end face part of the mounting direction side of the feeder body 31 at a position higher than the center in the height direction (a position close to the upper end face part of the feeder body 31 in this embodiment 1). A connector 43 for both power supply and communication is provided between these two positioning pins 42, 42, and by inserting and connecting the connector 43 of the feeder body 31 to a connector 52 (see Fig. 9) on the component mounter 12 side, power is supplied from the component mounter 12 side to various electrical components such as the tape feed device 38, the control part 39, and the memory part 41 in the feeder body 31, and various signals such as control signals and sensor signals are transmitted and received between the control part 20 (see Fig. 9) of the component mounter 12 and the control part 39 of the feeder body 31.

[0023] Next, a configuration for holding the feeder body 31 in a set state in the feeder set section 51 (space for accommodating the feeder 14) of the component mounter 12 will be described.

[0024] Of the upper end surface portion of the feeder body 31, a guide rail 45 with a T-shaped cross section is provided on the upper side portion of the reel accommodation space 33 as an upper holding member so as to extend in the attachment / detachment direction of the feeder body 31. Correspondingly, a slot groove 46 with a T-shaped cross section (see Figs. 6 and 7) into which the guide rail 45 with a T-shaped cross section of the feeder body 31 of the feeder set unit 51 of the component mounter 12 is provided on the upper side member 51a of the feeder set unit 51 of the component mounter 12 extends in the attachment / detachment direction of the feeder body 31, and the guide rail 45 with a T-shaped cross section of the feeder body 31 fits so as to be able to slide in the attachment / detachment direction of the feeder body 31, and the slide movement of the feeder body 31 in the attachment / detachment direction is guided and the feeder body 31 is held in a state where it is prevented from falling out downwards by fitting the guide rail 45 with a T-shaped cross section of the feeder set unit 51. As shown in FIG. 6, a plurality of slot grooves 46 are provided at a predetermined interval on the upper side of the feeder setting section 51 so that a plurality of feeder bodies 31 can be set in the feeder setting section 51.

[0025] A clamp device 54 (see FIG. 7) is provided at a position on the upper end surface of the feeder body 31 near the end surface of the feeder body 31 in the removal direction, for clamping the feeder body 31 to the feeder set section 51 of the component mounter 12 in an attached state. The clamp device 54 includes a clamp member 55 that protrudes obliquely upward from the upper end surface of the feeder body 31 during clamping operation, a spring 56 such as a spring that urges the clamp member 55 obliquely upward in the clamping direction, and an operation lever 57 (operation section) that operates a clamp release operation that retracts the clamp member 55 obliquely downward in the clamp release direction. The operation lever 57 is disposed so as to protrude from the end surface of the feeder body 31 in the removal direction. When the automatic exchange device 26 described later automatically exchanges the feeder 14 with respect to the feeder set section 51 of the component mounter 12, the automatic exchange device 26 holds the clamp device 54 in an released state.

[0026] Meanwhile, a clamp hole 61 (see FIG. 7) is provided at a position corresponding to the clamp member 55 on the upper side of the feeder set unit 51 of the component mounter 12, and the clamp member 55 fits into this clamp hole 61 to clamp the feeder body 31 in the attached state. In this case, as shown in FIG. 7, the spring 56 pushes the clamp member 55 diagonally upward in the removal direction of the feeder body 31, so that the upper end of the clamp member 55 is pressed against the side of the clamp hole 61 in the removal direction of the feeder body 31, and the reaction force presses the feeder body 31 toward the attachment direction, so that the feeder body 31 is positioned with high precision and the connection state of the connectors 43, 52 is maintained.

[0027] 4 and 5, a guide rail 58 with an I-shaped cross section is provided on the lower end surface of the feeder body 31 as a lower holding member, so as to extend in the attachment / detachment direction of the feeder body 31. Correspondingly, a rail groove with an I-shaped cross section (not shown) is provided on a lower member (not shown) of the feeder set unit 51 of the component mounter 12, into which the guide rail 58 with an I-shaped cross section of the feeder body 31 is fitted so as to be slidable in the attachment / detachment direction of the feeder body 31, and the guide rail 58 with an I-shaped cross section of the feeder body 31 fits into the rail groove with an I-shaped cross section on the lower side of the feeder set unit 51, thereby guiding the sliding movement of the feeder body 31 in the attachment / detachment direction and holding it in a state in which it is not prevented from falling out upward. As a result, even if there is some manufacturing variation in the height dimension of the feeder set section 51 of the component mounter 12 or the height dimension of the feeder body 31, it is possible to prevent the frictional resistance force from increasing when the feeder body 31 slides in the attachment / detachment direction, and the feeder body 31 can be attached and detached smoothly.

[0028] 4 and 5, a status display unit 65 for displaying the status of the feeder 14 is provided at a position lower than the center in the height direction of the end face portion on the removal direction side of the feeder body 31. In this embodiment 1, as shown in Fig. 8, the status display unit 65 is configured by arranging a plurality of light emitting elements 66, 67, 68 such as LEDs or the like, which emit light of different colors, in a vertical line.

[0029] In the first embodiment, the light emitting element 66 at the bottom position emits light in green, and when power is being supplied to the feeder 14, the light emitting element 66 emits light (lights up) in green, thereby indicating that power is being supplied. The light emitting element 67 at the middle position emits light in yellow, and when the number of remaining components on the component supply tape wound around the tape reel 32 falls below a predetermined value, the light emitting element 67 at the middle position flashes in yellow, thereby indicating that the number of remaining components is below the predetermined value (components are about to run out). Furthermore, when the components run out, the light emitting element 67 at the middle position emits light (lights up) in yellow, thereby indicating that the components are out. The light emitting element 68 at the top position emits light in red, and when an abnormality occurs in the component supply operation (tape feeding operation) of the feeder 14 and the error stops, the light emitting element 68 at the top position emits light (lights up) in red, thereby indicating that the component supply operation of the feeder 14 is abnormal. Furthermore, when it is determined that maintenance of the feeder 14 is necessary based on the occurrence rate of component suction errors during production, the light-emitting element 68 at the top position flashes in red to indicate that maintenance of the feeder 14 is necessary.

[0030] The control unit 20 of the component mounter 12 monitors the status of the feeder 14 set in the feeder setting unit 51 during production (e.g., whether there is an abnormality in the component supply operation, whether there is a shortage of components, whether the shortage of components is below a predetermined value, whether maintenance is required, etc.), and transfers the status information of the feeder 14 to the feeder 14 and stores it in the memory unit 41. Alternatively, the control unit 39 of the feeder 14 may monitor the status of the feeder 14 and store the status information of the feeder 14 in the memory unit 41. The control unit 20 of the component mounter 12 may also display the status of the feeder 14 set in the feeder setting unit 51 during production on the display device 23 on the upper part of the component mounter 12.

[0031] 1, an automatic exchange device 26 that automatically exchanges (sets and removes) feeders 14 for the feeder set units 51 of multiple component mounters 12 is installed on the front side of component mounting line 10 so as to move across feeder storage 19 and multiple component mounters 12. Below the feeder set units 51 of each component mounter 12, a stock unit 71 is provided that temporarily stores feeders 14 to be automatically exchanged for the feeder set units 51 of that component mounter 12. The automatic exchange device 26 sets the feeder 14 taken out of the feeder storage 19 in the feeder set section 51 or stock section 71 of one of the component mounters 12, sets the feeder 14 taken out from the stock section 71 of one of the component mounters 12 in the feeder set section 51 of that component mounter 12, recovers the feeder 14 removed from the feeder set section 51 of that component mounter 12 to the stock section 71 of that component mounter 12, and recovers the feeder 14 removed from the feeder set section 51 or stock section 71 of that component mounter 12 to the feeder storage 19.

[0032] The feeder storage 19 is provided with a plurality of slots (not shown) for setting a plurality of feeders 14, similar to the feeder setting unit 51 of the component mounter 12, and each slot is provided with a connector 81 (see FIG. 10) for both power supply and communication, which functions as a power supply unit. Each feeder 14 stored in the feeder storage 19 has its connector 43 inserted into the connector 81 on the feeder storage 19 side, whereby power is supplied from the feeder storage 19 to various electrical components in each feeder 14, such as the tape feeding device 38, the control unit 39, and the memory unit 41. As a result, the control unit 82 of the feeder storage 19 communicates with the control unit 39 of each feeder 14 to obtain the identification information (feeder ID) of each feeder 14, and recognizes the type of each feeder 14 and the position of the slot in which each feeder 14 is set. Furthermore, the control unit 39 of each feeder 14 stored in the feeder storage 19 causes the status display unit 65 to display the status of that feeder 14 stored and held in the memory unit 41 of that feeder 14 .

[0033] As shown in FIG. 3, the control unit 20 of each mounter 12 on the component mounting line 10, the control unit 82 of the feeder storage 19, and the control unit 27 of the automatic exchanger 26 are communicatively connected to a production management computer 70 that manages the entire component mounting line 10 via a network 28 such as a wired LAN or wireless LAN, and this production management computer 70 manages the operation of each mounter 12 on the component mounting line 10 and the operation of the automatic exchanger 26.

[0034] Furthermore, the component mounting line 10 of the present embodiment 1 includes a feeder transport device 76 (see FIG. 1) that automatically travels between a work location where an operator works and the feeder storage 19. At the work location, an operator loads a replacement feeder 14 onto the feeder transport device 76, which transports the replacement feeder 14 to the feeder storage 19. The feeder transport device 76 transfers the replacement feeder 14 to the feeder storage 19, and also loads the replaced feeder 14 that has been collected in the feeder storage 19 onto the feeder transport device 76 and returns to the work location. In this way, an operator can efficiently replenish replacement feeders 14, replace the tape reel 32 of the collected replaced feeder 14, and perform maintenance and repairs at a work location away from the feeder storage 19. The feeder transport device 76 is equipped with a feeder transfer mechanism (not shown) that transfers the feeder 14 between the feeder storage 19 and the feeder storage 19.

[0035] Although not shown, the feeder transporting device 76, like the feeder storage 19, is provided with a number of slots for setting a number of feeders 14, and each slot is provided with a connector that functions as a power supply unit. Each feeder 14 loaded on the feeder transporting device 76 receives power from the feeder transporting device 76 by inserting and connecting its connector 43 into a connector on the feeder transporting device 76 side. As a result, the control unit 39 of each feeder 14 loaded on the feeder transporting device 76 causes the status display unit 65 of that feeder 14 to display the status of that feeder 14 stored and held in the memory unit 41 of that feeder 14.

[0036] The production management computer 70 communicates with the feeder carrying device 76 via wireless LAN or the like, and also manages the operation of the feeder carrying device 76. In this embodiment 1, the work area where the workers work and the feeder carrying device 76 are shared by multiple component mounting lines 10. In this way, the same worker can replenish the feeders 14 for replacement in the feeder storage 19 of the multiple component mounting lines 10, replace the tape reels 32 of the replaced feeders 14 collected from the multiple component mounting lines 10, and perform maintenance and repairs at a common work area. There is no need to provide a work area and a feeder carrying device 76 for each component mounting line 10. This allows the multiple component mounting lines 10 to be installed compactly in a factory, and the number of workers engaged in managing the multiple component mounting lines 10 can be reduced, resulting in further labor savings.

[0037] Furthermore, even if the feeder transport device 76 is present, the supply and retrieval of feeders 14 from the feeder storage 19 of the component mounting line 10 may be performed manually by an operator, and it is up to the operator to decide whether or not to use the feeder transport device 76.

[0038] Incidentally, among the feeders 14 that the worker retrieves from the feeder storage 19 or the feeder transport device 76, there are some that can be reused as they are in later production, but there are also some feeders that cannot be reused as they are (feeders that require adjustment work, tape reel replacement work, etc.), such as feeders that stopped due to an error during production due to a component pickup error, or feeders that are out of parts or have only a few parts remaining.

[0039] In this regard, in this embodiment 1, a status display unit 65 is provided on the end face of the feeder 14 stored in the feeder storage 19 on the removal direction side, which is a position that is easily visible from the worker's side, and this status display unit 65 displays the status of the feeder 14, so that the worker can easily know the status of the feeder 14 just by looking at the display on the status display unit 65 of the feeder 14 stored in the feeder storage 19. This allows the worker to easily determine by visual inspection whether the feeder 14 to be retrieved from the feeder storage 19 can be reused as is, and allows the subsequent work to be performed efficiently.

[0040] Furthermore, when using a feeder transporting device 76 that automatically travels between the work location where the worker works and the feeder storage 19, power is supplied to the feeder 14 loaded on the feeder transporting device 76, and the status of the feeder 14 stored and held in the memory unit 41 of the feeder 14 is displayed on the status display unit 65 of the feeder 14, so that the worker can easily know the status of the feeder 14 just by looking at the display on the status display unit 65 of the feeder 14 loaded on the feeder transporting device 76 that has returned to the work location. This allows the worker to easily determine by visual inspection whether the feeder 14 to be retrieved from the feeder transporting device 67 can be reused as is, and the subsequent work can be performed efficiently. EXAMPLES

[0041] Next, a second embodiment will be described. However, the same reference numerals are used to denote parts that are substantially the same as those in the first embodiment, and descriptions thereof will be omitted or simplified, and differences will be mainly described.

[0042] In the above-mentioned Example 1, the memory unit 41 of the feeder 14 was made to store and retain information on the status of the feeder 14, whereas in the present Example 2, the memory unit (not shown) of the production management computer 70 is made to store information on the status of the feeder 14 set in the feeder setting unit 51 of each component mounting machine 12 in association with the feeder ID.

[0043] In this embodiment 2, the production management computer 70 communicates with the control unit 20 of each component mounter 12 and the control unit 82 of the feeder storage 19 to obtain feeder IDs, which are identification information of the feeders 14 set in each component mounter 12 and the feeder storage 19, to manage production on the component mounting line 10, and also monitors the status of the feeders 14 set in each component mounter 12 based on information sent from the control unit 20 of each component mounter 12 during production, and stores information on the status of the feeder 14 in the memory unit in association with the feeder ID.

[0044] Meanwhile, the control unit 82 of the feeder storage facility 19 communicates with the production management computer 70, supplies power to the feeder 14 stored in the feeder storage facility 19, obtains a feeder ID from the feeder 14, queries the production management computer 70 to obtain the status of the feeder 14 corresponding to the feeder ID, and displays the status of the feeder 14 on the status display unit 65.

[0045] In addition, the feeder transporting device 76 communicates with the production management computer 70, supplies power to the feeder 14 loaded on the feeder transporting device 76, obtains a feeder ID from the feeder 14, queries the production management computer 70 to obtain the status of the feeder 14 corresponding to the feeder ID, and displays the status of the feeder 14 on the status display unit 65.

[0046] In the second embodiment described above, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.

[0047] [Other Examples] In the above-mentioned Example 1, the status display unit 65 was provided on the end surface of the feeder 14 on the side in the removal direction, but if the upper end surface of the feeder 14 is exposed when viewed from the worker's side when the feeder 14 is placed in the feeder storage cabinet 19 or the feeder transporting device 76, the status display unit 65 may be provided on the upper end surface of the feeder 14; in short, the status display unit 65 may be provided in a position on the feeder 14 that is easily visible from the worker's side when the feeder 14 is placed in the feeder storage cabinet 19 or the feeder transporting device 76.

[0048] Furthermore, the configuration of the status display unit 65 is not limited to that of the first embodiment, and the color, number, and arrangement of the light emitting elements may be changed.
