Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a metal lure used for lure fishing, and particularly to a metal lure in which an eye to which a fishing line or a fishing hook is attached is welded to a body.
Background Art
[0002] Various lures are commercially available for lure fishing, ranging from those that swim in shallow waters near the water surface to those that swim in deep waters near the lake bottom and the sea floor. Lures are used appropriately according to the water depth where the target fish lives, and are composed of various materials, from those lighter than the specific gravity of water to metals heavier than the specific gravity of water.
[0003] From the perspective of the water depth of use, lures designed for shallow waters are called shallow types, and lures designed for deep waters are called deep types. Here, in rivers, seas, lakes, etc., a shallow area with a shallow water depth is called a shallow field, and a deep area with a deep water depth is called a deep field. A lure called a metal jig composed only of metals such as lead, iron, tungsten, and aluminum has a large weight because its interior is also made of metal, and has excellent long-casting performance. In addition, the metal jig also has the advantages of high strength and durability. Since the metal jig has a large specific gravity, its sinking speed is fast after hitting the water, and it is often used in scenes where it aims at underwater or mainly deep fields.
[0004] Here, there are various methods for fixing a line eye for attaching a fishing line to a lure body. Patent Document 1 discloses the structure of a lure having a resin body part. Here, a structure composed of a resin member corresponding to the body part of the lure and a metal plate provided on the abdomen of the body part is disclosed. A fishing line locking part for attaching a fishing line is integrally formed with this metal plate by welding or the like.
[0005] Patent Document 2 shows the structure of a lure having a metal main body. The lure main body 11 only needs to have a strength that can withstand casting, have a specific gravity greater than that of water, and be made of a hard material. Preferably, it is made of a metal material, and most preferably, stainless steel that is rust-free, harmless, and durable is adopted. The fishing line locking part 2 only needs to have a strength that can tie and hold the fishing line and the lure main body 11 during casting and hold the fishing target. For example, it is made of a metal material such as stainless steel, and the fishing line locking part 2 and the lure main body 11 are connected by welding.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0007] Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 only describe fixing the line eye for attaching the fishing line to the body by welding. However, since a metal lure is mainly used for long casting, the connection part between the line eye and the heavy body must have sufficient strength. Furthermore, as described in Patent Document 2, stainless steel that is rust-free, harmless, and durable is often used as the material for metal lures. However, the fact that lures left in water or seawater due to snagging or the like remain semi-permanently as they are is an environmental problem.
[0008] The present invention has been made to address the above problems, and aims to propose a welding structure that ensures sufficient strength between the line eye and the body, and further to propose an environmentally friendly metal lure even when left in water or seawater.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0009] (1) In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a metal lure for lure fishing, comprising a body and an eye for attaching a fishing line or a fishing hook, wherein an eye installation groove for accommodating the eye is provided in the body, and the eye is attached to the body by welding in a state of being accommodated in the eye installation groove.
[0010] By providing an eye installation groove capable of accommodating the eye in the body of the metal lure of the present invention, the eye can be welded in a state of being accommodated and held at a predetermined position of the body, so that the welding operation becomes easy. Furthermore, welding can be performed in a state where the positional relationship between the eye and the body is always constant. Therefore, the appearance of the welded portion of each metal lure can be made uniform and in a beautiful circular shape, and the welding quality of each metal lure can be kept constant.
[0011] (2) The shape of the eye before welding is U-shaped, and both ends of the U-shaped eye have portions that serve as filler materials when welding the eye to the body.
[0012] Since the end of the eye functions as a filler material for joining the eye and the body, the welding operation becomes easy and a circular and beautiful welded portion can be obtained.
[0013] (3) The eye installation groove is formed by a press die.
[0014] The eye installation groove can be manufactured using a lathe, a milling machine, etc., but by using a press die, a uniform eye installation groove can be efficiently provided in the body.
[0015] (4) The material of the body and the eye is characterized by being martensitic stainless steel or ferritic stainless steel.
[0016] Stainless steel is often used as the material for metal lures. This is because stainless steel has high corrosion resistance, is not easily rusted even when used in water or seawater, and has the property of being easy to process. However, on the other hand, if it is left in water or seawater due to snagging or the like during fishing, it will remain in water or seawater semi-permanently as it is, which is an environmental problem. Among stainless steels, there are austenitic, martensitic, and ferritic types, and the one with high corrosion resistance is the austenitic type. Martensitic and ferritic types have lower corrosion resistance compared to the austenitic type, so in a state of being left in water or seawater, they will both rust and disappear eventually. Metal lures made of martensitic and ferritic stainless steels can be made to meet the needs of users who consider the environment.
Effect of the Invention
[0017] According to the present invention, in the production of a metal lure, by providing an eye installation groove for accommodating the eye in the body, the eye can be welded while being held in the eye installation groove, so that the welding operation becomes easy and the welding quality of each metal lure can be kept constant. Furthermore, by using martensitic or ferritic stainless steel as the material of the metal lure, it can be made to meet the needs of users who consider the environment.

Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[0019] Hereinafter, embodiments of the metal lure of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In each figure, the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0020] Fig. 1a shows a front view of the metal lure 1 of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 1a, the metal lure 1 includes at least a metal body 10, a line eye 11A for attaching a fishing line 21, and a hook eye 11B for attaching a fishing hook. The front surface portion 10-1 and the back surface portion 10-2 (see Fig. 1b) of the body 10 are shaped like a fish so as to function as a pseudo bait, that is, a lure, and a fish pattern is painted on each surface.
[0021] The line eye 11A and the hook eye 11B are in a shape similar to the letter U in the alphabet. Before being welded to the body 10, both ends of the U-shaped eye extend horizontally (see Fig. 3c). These horizontally extending portions serve as welding materials when welding the line eye 11A and the hook eye 11B to the body 10. In Fig. 1a, one line eye 11A and one hook eye 11B are respectively provided on the head portion 10-5 and the tail portion 10-6 of the body 10. Note that the shapes of the line eye 11A and the hook eye 11B may be similar to the Greek letters Π or Ω.
[0022] Fig. 1b shows a plan view of the metal lure 1 of the present invention. Since the metal lure 1 of the present invention is manufactured by cutting a metal plate material, the side surface portion 10-3 remains the same as the thickness of the plate material except for the head portion 10-5 and the tail portion 10-6. The line eye 11A is welded to the head portion 10-5 in a state of being housed in the eye installation groove 15A, and the welded portion 12A is a clean circular shape with a slightly raised center portion. The hook eye 11B is welded to the tail portion 10-6 in a state of being housed in the eye installation groove 15B, and the welded portion 12B is a clean circular shape with a slightly raised center portion. The operation of welding the line eye 11A to the body 10 will be described later with reference to Fig. 3c.
[0023] An example of the manufacturing process of the metal lure 1 of the present invention will be described below with reference to Figs. 2a to 3d.
[0024] Fig. 2a shows a plate material 30 as a commercially available product for manufacturing the metal lure 1. The size of the plate material 30 is, for example, 1000 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, and 10 mm in thickness. The thickness of the metal lure 1, that is, the thickness of the side surface portion 10-3, may be adjusted according to the thickness of the commercially available product. Generally, the thickness of the commercially available plate material is in 1 mm increments up to 10 mm, and for 10 mm or more, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 mm can be used.
[0025] Figure 2b shows a cutting material 31 sized to produce one metal lure 1. The size of the cutting material 31 is, for example, 20 mm in length, 170 mm in width, and 10 mm in thickness. The cutting material 31 is cut out from the plate material 30 by shearing, sawing, etc. Shearing is a method of pressing the material against a back gauge positioned at the cutting dimension and lowering the upper blade to cut, similar to the principle of cutting paper with scissors. Sawing is a method of rotating a circular saw blade with an electric motor to cut the material.
[0026] The material of the metal lure 1 can be selected from lead, zinc, tin, brass, stainless steel, iron, titanium, tungsten, etc. However, stainless steel, which has no impact on the ecosystem and is less likely to rust, is often used. Stainless steel includes austenitic, martensitic, and ferritic types. Among them, the austenitic type has high corrosion resistance. The martensitic and ferritic types have lower corrosion resistance compared to the austenitic type. Therefore, if the lure is left in water or seawater due to snagging or the like during fishing, it will eventually rust and disappear. Metal lures made of martensitic and ferritic stainless steel can be said to be in line with users who are environmentally conscious. Specifically, SUS403, 410, 420, etc. are martensitic stainless steels, and specifically, SUS430, 410L, etc. are ferritic stainless steels.
[0027] Figure 2c shows an oval-shaped processed material 32 processed into a fish shape from the cutting material 31. In the oval-shaped processed material 32, the side surface portion 32-3, which is the thickness portion, remains the same as the thickness of the plate material 30, and the front surface portion 32-1 and the back surface portion 32-2, which become the body side portions of the fish, are processed into an oval shape similar to a fish shape.
[0028] Figure 2d shows a state in which an eye installation groove 15A (15B) is provided in the side surface portion 32-3 of the oval workpiece 32 by a press die 40. The press die 40 is divided into an upper die 41A and a lower die 41B. The side surface portion 32-3 of the oval workpiece 32 is placed between them, and the side surface portion 32-3 is pressed from above and below. The eye installation groove 15A (15B) can accommodate the eye at a fixed position of the body 10 when welding the eye 11A (11B) (see Fig. 3c) to the body 10, making welding easier and maintaining a constant welding quality for each lure, including the attachment position of the eye to the body. The eye installation groove 15A (15B) can be manufactured using a lathe, a milling machine, etc. However, considering the small size of the groove and the manufacturing time, it is most efficient to use a press die.
[0029] Figure 3a shows the eye installation grooves 15A and 15B provided in the side surface portion 32-3 of the oval workpiece 32 by the press die 40. When the eye installation grooves 15A and 15B accommodate the eyes 11A and 11B, it is desirable that the bottom of the eye installation groove be sized such that the U-shaped body of the eye spreads slightly, so that the eyes 11A and 11B are supported by the eye installation grooves 15A and 15B. This can prevent the eye from moving during the welding operation or falling out of the eye installation groove.
[0030] Figure 3b shows the completed body 10 with the head portion 10-5 and the tail portion 10-6 of the front surface portion 32-1 and the back surface portion 32-2 of the oval workpiece 32 chamfered. The head portion 10-5 and the tail portion 10-6 are chamfered to make the shape of the metal lure 1 resemble a fish more closely.
[0031] Figure 3c shows a state where eyes 11A and 11B are accommodated in the eye installation grooves 15A and 15B of the body 10 and welded by a TIG welding machine 50. In Figure 3c, the portion that serves as a filler material when welding the eyes extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to both ends of the U-shaped eyes. This shape causes the portion that serves as a filler material when welding the eyes to face the TIG welding machine 50 when the eyes 11A and 11B are accommodated in the eye installation grooves 15A and 15B. Due to this state, the arc of the TIG welding machine 50 can be efficiently concentrated on the portion that serves as a filler material, so that it can be finished as a clean circular welded portion. Welding is performed 4 times in total, 2 times for eye 11A and 2 times for eye 11B, to form one metal lure.
[0032] Figure 3d shows a metal lure before painting with eyes 11A and 11B attached to the body 10 by TIG welding. After that, the surface is painted to obtain a finished product. The painting of the metal lure involves primer treatment and topcoat painting. For the primer treatment, in order to improve the adhesion of the paint, for example, the outer surface of the lure is polished to moderately roughen the surface, or a primer is applied. Next, for the topcoat painting, for example, a logo or pattern is drawn on the lure surface with urethane paint, and the eyeballs are attached with an epoxy adhesive. Through painting, the metal lure 1 is completed.
[0033] Figure 4a shows a metal lure according to another embodiment of the present invention. In this another embodiment, the number of locations for attaching the fishing hook 22 is increased by one on the side surface 10-3 of the abdomen 10-7.
[0034] Figure 4b shows an eye installation groove 15C for the hook eye 11C provided on the side surface 10-3 of the abdomen 10-7. The eye installation groove 15C is formed by two grooves so as to accommodate both ends of the U-shaped eye of the hook eye 11C (see Figure 4c). The eye installation groove 15C is formed on the side surface 10-3 of the abdomen 10-7 of the body 10 using a press die, similar to the other eye installation grooves 15A and 15B.
[0035] Figure 4c shows a state where the hook eye 11C is accommodated in the eye installation groove 15C of the body 10 and welded with the TIG welding machine 50. The parts serving as welding fillers are U-shaped and face upward at both ends of the inverted U-shaped hook eye 11C. By concentrating the arc of the TIG welding machine 50 on this U-shaped part facing upward, a clean circular welded part can be formed.
[0036] Figure 4d shows a metal lure before painting with eyes 11A, 11B, and 11C attached to the side surface portion 10-3 of the body 10 by TIG welding. After that, the surface is painted to obtain a finished product. In another embodiment of the present invention, two hook eyes are provided, but three or more hook eyes may be provided, and the positions where they are provided can also be freely selected.
