Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a reel seat and a fishing rod equipped with the same. [Background technology]
[0002] 2. Description of the Related Art Various fishing rods equipped with fishing rod reel seats have been known in the past.
[0003] In such fishing rods, a fishing rod reel seat and a fishing rod grip are usually placed on the rod body, and the fishing rod reel seat has a reel leg placement section formed on the upper or lower side of the main body for placing the reel legs.
[0004] As an example of such a fishing rod reel seat, Patent Document 1 discloses a fishing rod reel attachment structure in which a movable hood 3 is attached to a butt rod 1 so that it can slide freely toward the center of the rod but cannot rotate circumferentially, an operation ring 9 is loosely fitted around the butt side of the movable hood 3, a coil spring 8 is fitted between the two 3, 9, and the coil diameter of the coil spring 8 is set so that it will be tightly fixed to the butt rod 1 in its free state, the fixed state of the coil spring 8 is released by rotating the operation ring 9 in the direction opposite to the winding direction of the coil spring 8, and when the operation of the operation ring 9 is released, the movable hood 3 is fixed in position by the winding action of the coil spring 8 around the butt rod 1.
[0005] Patent Document 2 discloses a fishing reel seat comprising a seat body with a support leg receiving metal fitting fixed to the tip, a support leg slider inserted into the seat body so as to embrace the support leg receiving metal fitting, a spring stretched between the support leg receiving metal fitting and the slider or between the slider and the side wall of the seat body and interposed in the slider, and a fixed plate located inside the seat body, movable and having a sawtooth engaging groove on its surface that engages with the slider. [0006] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 5-82274 [Patent Document 2] Jikko No. 47-41670 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0007] The reel mounting structure disclosed in Patent Document 1 attempts to prevent misalignment in the axial direction by using the frictional force of the coil spring against the butt rod, but this is not enough to secure the movable hood to the butt rod, and the need to provide a coil spring inside the movable hood makes it difficult to make the movable hood compact. Furthermore, the fishing reel seat disclosed in Patent Document 2 requires a spring to be provided inside the plate sheet, which inevitably increases the thickness, causing not only a shift in the center of gravity but also a significant decrease in grippability.
[0008] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and its object is to provide a reel seat and a fishing rod equipped with the same, which not only provides a tightening force in the reel leg mounting direction, is resistant to loosening, does not expose the male thread of the nut fitting portion as in general reel seats, improves grip and appearance, and allows for a compact overall configuration. Other objects of the present invention will become clear by reading this entire specification. [Means for solving the problem]
[0009] A reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a fixed hood into which one end of a reel leg is inserted, and a movable hood into which the other end of the reel leg is inserted, the fixed hood having a cylindrical portion extending from the fixed hood toward the movable hood, a first spring fixing member being provided on the inner periphery of the fixed hood, and a second spring fixing member being provided on the inner periphery of the movable hood, the first spring fixing member and the second spring fixing member being connected by a spring member, thereby allowing the fixed hood and the movable hood to be connected so as to be movable relative to each other.
[0010] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the cylindrical portion of the fixed hood has its end on the movable hood side engaged with a recess provided in the movable hood when the reel leg is fixed by the fixed hood and the movable hood.
[0011] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the tubular portion of the fixed hood is capable of releasing its engagement with a recess provided in the movable hood at its end on the movable hood side in order to release the reel leg from the fixed hood and the movable hood, or the tubular portion of the fixed hood is capable of moving relatively from the recess in a direction in which the engagement can be released.
[0012] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member extends from the first spring fixing member to the second spring fixing member so as to be inserted into the interior of the cylindrical portion of the fixed hood.
[0013] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member is fixed so that one end thereof engages with either the inner or outer surface of at least one of the first spring fixing member or the second spring fixing member.
[0014] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the first spring fixing member is fixed to the fixed hood by adhesive bonding, radial press-fitting (taper press-fitting), snap-fitting or screw-fitting, and the second spring fixing member is fixed to the movable hood by adhesive bonding, radial press-fitting (taper press-fitting), snap-fitting or screw-fitting.
[0015] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the reel seat is attached to a fishing rod body, the first spring fixing member is fixed to the rod body, and the second spring fixing member is movable relative to the rod body.
[0016] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fixed hood and the first spring fixing member are integrally formed, and the movable hood and the second spring fixing member are integrally formed.
[0017] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member is a coil spring.
[0018] In a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention, the movement of the movable hood in a direction away from the fixed hood is restricted by a movable hood fixing member provided adjacent to the movable hood.
[0019] A fishing rod according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include any of the reel seats described above, a reel, and a rod body. [Effects of the Invention]
[0020] According to the above embodiment, a tightening force acts in the reel leg mounting direction, making it difficult to loosen, and the male threaded portion of the nut fitting portion is not exposed as in general reel seats, which not only improves grip and appearance but also makes it possible to provide a reel seat and a fishing rod equipped with the same that can be configured compactly as a whole. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0022] Hereinafter, embodiments of a reel seat and a fishing rod according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Components common to multiple drawings are designated by the same reference numerals throughout the multiple drawings. Please note that the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale for the sake of convenience.
[0023] Figure 1 is a diagram showing one embodiment of a fishing rod according to the present invention. Note that while Figure 1 shows a bait-casting reel fishing rod, it may also be a spinning reel fishing rod, and it is not intended to be limited to a specific embodiment. As shown, the fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a rod body 2, a reel 6 attached to the rod body 2 via a reel seat 9, and a fishing line guide 10 attached to the rod body 2. In the illustrated embodiment, the reel seat 9 and the fishing line guide 10 each correspond to an attachment part attached to the outer circumferential surface of the rod body.
[0024] The rod body 2 is constructed by connecting, for example, a butt rod 3, a middle rod 5, and a tip rod 7. These rod bodies are joined, for example, using a straight joint. The butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 can be joined using a telescoping method, a reverse straight joint method, a spigot joint method, or any other known joining method. The rod body 2 may also be constructed from a single rod body.
[0025] The butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 are each constructed, for example, as a tubular body made of fiber-reinforced resin. This fiber-reinforced resin tubular body is produced by winding a fiber-reinforced resin prepreg (prepreg sheet) in which reinforcing fibers are impregnated with a matrix resin around a core and then heating and curing the prepreg sheet. The reinforcing fibers contained in the prepreg sheet can be, for example, carbon fiber, glass fiber, or any other known reinforcing fiber. The matrix resin contained in the prepreg sheet can be a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin. After the prepreg sheet has cured, the core is removed. The outer surface of the tubular body is polished as appropriate. Each rod body may be constructed in a solid shape.
[0026] In the illustrated embodiment, the butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 are provided with a plurality of line guides 10 (line guides 10A-10D) that guide the fishing line that is let out from the reel 6 attached to the reel seat 9. More specifically, the butt rod 3 is provided with line guide 10A, the middle rod 5 is provided with line guide 10B, and the tip rod 7 is provided with line guide 10C. A top guide 10D is provided at the tip of the tip rod 7, but details will be omitted.
[0027] Although details will be described later, the reel seat 9 has a fixed hood 13 at one end (rod tip side), and a movable hood 14 at the other end (rod butt side) attached so as to be movable in the axial direction relative to the rod body 2 of the fishing rod 1. With one end of the reel leg 6a inserted (housed) in the fixed hood 13 and the other end inserted (housed) in the movable hood 14, the reel leg 6a is sandwiched from both sides between the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14, and the fishing reel 6 is attached and fixed to the reel seat 9. Here, the reel seat 9 may be configured so as to have a fixed hood 13 at one end (rod butt side), and a movable hood 14 attached to the other end (rod tip side) so as to be movable in the axial direction relative to the rod body 2 of the fishing rod 1.
[0028] Next, a reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figures 2(a) and (b). Figure 2(a) shows an example of a state in which the reel legs have been removed from the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 2(b) shows an example of a state in which the reel legs have not been attached to the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0029] As shown in the figure, a reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a fixed hood 13 into which one end 6b of a reel leg 6a of a reel 6 is inserted, and a movable hood 14 into which the other end 6c of the reel leg 6a is inserted, the fixed hood 13 having a tubular portion 13a extending from the fixed hood 13 toward the movable hood 14, a first spring fixing member 15 is provided on the inner circumferential side of the fixed hood 13 (between the fixed hood 13 and the fishing rod body 2), a second spring fixing member 16 is provided on the inner circumferential side of the movable hood 14 (between the movable hood 14 and the fishing rod body 2), and the first spring fixing member 15 and the second spring fixing member 16 are connected by a spring member 17, thereby allowing the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 to be connected so as to be movable relative to each other. Here, the fixed hood 13 has been described as having a cylindrical portion 13a extending from the fixed hood 13 toward the movable hood 14, but the movable hood 14 may be configured to have a cylindrical portion (not shown) extending from the movable hood 14 toward the fixed hood 13. In that case, the fixed hood 13 may be provided with a recess (locking recess) (not shown) described later, and the cylindrical portion of the moving hood 14 may be configured so that the end of the cylindrical portion on the fixed hood 13 side is locked in a recess (locking recess) provided in the fixed hood 13, described later, when the reel leg 6a is fixed by the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 (fastened from both sides by the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 when viewed in the axial direction of the fishing rod body 2).
[0030] According to the reel seat 9 of one embodiment of the present invention, a tightening force acts in the direction of the reel leg attachment, making it difficult to loosen. In addition, unlike typical reel seats, the male thread portion of the nut fitting portion is not exposed, which not only improves grip and appearance, but also makes it possible to provide a reel seat that can be configured compactly overall.
[0031] Furthermore, in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the reel leg 6a is fixed by the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 (when viewed in the axial direction of the fishing rod body 2, the reel leg 6a is fastened from both sides by the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14), the end 13b of the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 on the movable hood 14 side is locked in a recess (locking recess) 14a provided in the movable hood 14. In this way, when the reel leg is placed (attached), the locking recess 14a of the movable hood 14 and the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 can reliably fix the movable hood 14 to the fixed hood 13, and even when there is no reel leg, the movable hood 14 is prevented from approaching the fixed hood 13 within a predetermined distance, effectively preventing the movable hood 14 from colliding with the fixed hood 13.
[0032] Furthermore, in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, in order to release the reel leg 6a from the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 (to remove the reel leg 6a from the reel seat 9), the end 13b of the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 on the moving hood 14 side can be released from locking with a recess (locking recess) 14a provided in the moving hood 14. Furthermore, in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, in order to release the reel leg 6a from the fixed hood 13 and the moving hood 14 (to remove the reel leg 6a from the reel seat 9), the end 13b of the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 on the moving hood 14 side can be configured to slide (move relatively) from the recess (locking recess) 14a provided in the moving hood 14 in the direction for releasing the lock to an extent that allows the reel leg 6a to be removed from the reel seat 9. In this way, when attaching the reel leg 6a to the reel seat 9, the reel leg 6a can be inserted into the fixed hood 13 and the movable hood 14 more easily and reliably.
[0033] In the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member 17 is inserted into the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 and extends from the first spring fixing member 15 to the second spring fixing member 16. By effectively utilizing the internal space of the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 in this way, not only can the entire reel seat 9 be made compact, but the cylindrical portion 13a can conceal the internal coil member, improving gripping and appearance. The fishing rod body 2 is inserted into the spring member 17, and it is necessary to provide a certain clearance between the inner diameter of the spring member 17 and the outer diameter of the fishing rod body 2 when the spring member 17 is extended. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide a certain clearance between the outer diameter of the spring member 17 and the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 when the spring member 17 is contracted (returned to nearly its natural length).
[0034] Next, with reference to FIGS. 3(a) and 3(b), a method for fixing the spring member 17 to the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, as shown in FIG. 3(a), in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member 17 is fixed so that one end 17a thereof engages with the outer peripheral surface 15a of the first spring fixing member 15. This can be achieved, for example, by fitting the wire of the end 17a of the spring member 17 into a spiral groove formed in the outer peripheral surface 15a of the first spring fixing member 15, by locking a part of the spring member with a claw provided on the inner peripheral surface of the spring fixing member, by bonding with an adhesive, or by welding. Similarly, the other end 17b of the spring member 17 is fixed so that it engages with the outer peripheral surface 16a of the second spring fixing member 16. This can be achieved by the same method as described above. In this way, after forming the first spring fixing member 15, the second spring fixing member 16, and the spring member 17 separately, they can be easily and reliably connected (fixed) together. Here, in the case of a method in which the wire rod at the end 17a of the spring member 17 is fitted into a spiral groove formed in the outer peripheral surface 15a (or inner peripheral surface 15b) of the first spring fixing member 15, the depth of the groove in the first spring fixing member 15 and the wire diameter of the wire rod of the spring member 17 are set to dimensions that prevent the first spring fixing member 15 and the spring member 17 from coming apart due to the restoring force of the spring generated when the reel legs are attached (this also applies to the method of fitting the second spring fixing member 15 and the spring member 17 together).
[0035] As shown in FIG. 3(b), in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member 17 is fixed by engaging one end 17a with the inner circumferential surface 15b of the first spring fixing member 15. This can be achieved, for example, by fitting the wire of the end 17a of the spring member 17 into a spiral groove formed in the inner circumferential surface 15b of the first spring fixing member 15, by locking a part of the spring member with a claw provided on the inner circumferential surface of the spring fixing member, by bonding with an adhesive, or by welding. Similarly, the other end 17b of the spring member 17 is fixed by engaging with the inner circumferential surface 16b of the second spring fixing member 16. This can be achieved by the same method as above. In this way, after the first spring fixing member 15, the second spring fixing member 16, and the spring member 17 are formed as separate members, they can be easily and reliably connected (fixed).
[0036] In the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the first spring fixing member 15 is fixed to the fixed hood 13 by adhesive bonding, radial press-fitting (taper press-fitting), snap-fitting or screw-fitting, and the second spring fixing member 16 is fixed to the movable hood 14 by adhesive bonding, radial press-fitting (taper press-fitting), snap-fitting or screw-fitting. In this way, after the fixed hood 13, first spring fixing member 15, movable hood 14 and second spring fixing member 16 are each formed as separate bodies, they can be fixed together easily and reliably.
[0037] Next, a reel seat according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figure 2 again. In a reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the reel seat 9 is attached to the rod body 2 of a fishing rod 1, the first spring fixing member 15 is fixed to the rod body 2, and the second spring fixing member is made movable relative to the rod body. Possible methods for fixing the first spring fixing member 15 to the rod body 2 include, but are not limited to, adhesive bonding, radial press-fitting (taper press-fitting), snap-fitting, screw-fitting, and the like.
[0038] Next, a reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figure 4. In the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fixed hood 13 and the first spring fixing member 15 are integrally formed, and the movable hood 14 and the second spring fixing member 16 are integrally formed. In the example shown in Figure 4, in the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fixed hood 13, the first spring fixing member 15, and the spring member 17 are integrally formed. In this way, there is no need to individually form each component member as a separate member, and depending on the manufacturing method, the reel seat 9 can be formed more efficiently.
[0039] In the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the spring member 17 is a coil spring. In this way, the space between the cylindrical portion 13a of the fixed hood 13 and the fishing rod body 2 can be effectively utilized.
[0040] Next, a method for fixing the movable hood 14 to the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figures 5 and 6. In the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the movement of the movable hood 14 in a direction away from the fixed hood 13 is restricted by movable hood fixing members 20, 30 provided adjacent to (in contact with) the movable hood 14.
[0041] 5, the second spring fixing member 16 has a fixed portion 16c at the end opposite to the side where the spring member 17 is fixed, the fixed portion 16c having an external thread 16d formed on its outer circumferential surface, and the movable hood fixing member 20 having an internal thread 20a formed on its inner circumferential surface, and when the movable hood fixing member 20 is rotated around the fixed portion 16c, the internal thread 20a of the movable hood fixing member 20 screws into the external thread 16d of the fixed portion 16c, and when the movable hood fixing member 20 is rotated beyond a certain point, the movable hood fixing member 20 is engaged with the fixed portion 16c and fixed. Note that this thread may be a thread with a burr, and if the inner circumferential surface of the movable hood fixing member 20 is tapered, the burr can be configured to tighten as the tightening direction advances.
[0042] In this way, the movement of the movable hood 14 in a direction away from the fixed hood 13 is restricted by the movable hood fixing member 20 arranged adjacent to (in contact with) the movable hood 14, thereby preventing the movable hood 14 from moving in a direction that would cause the reel leg 6a to come off, and ensuring that the reel leg 6a is securely fixed (attached) by the reel seat 9.
[0043] Next, as shown in FIG. 6(a), the movable hood fixing member 30 is provided adjacent to (in contact with) the end of the second spring fixing member 16 opposite to the side where the spring member 17 is fixed. As shown in FIG. 6(c), the rod body 2, which normally has a circular outline, has arc-shaped portions of the left and right side surfaces (left and right side surface portions) 2a of the rod body 2 removed by milling or the like to form a linear (flat) outline at the location where the movable hood fixing member 30 is provided, when viewed in a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction of the rod body 2. As shown in FIG. 6(b), the inner peripheral surface 30a of the movable hood fixing member 30 is formed in the same shape as the outline of the rod body 2, and arc-shaped notches 30c are formed in the left and right side surfaces (left and right side surface portions) 30b of the inner peripheral surface 30a. As shown in FIG. 6(c), one or more convex portions 2b with arc-shaped upper surfaces are formed on the upper and lower sides of the outer surface of the rod body 2 when viewed in the cross section. When the movable hood fixing member 30 is inserted into the rod body 2 and rotated 90° relative to the rod body 2, the convex portion 2b of the rod body 2 is engaged with the notch 30c of the movable hood fixing member 30, thereby fixing the movable hood fixing member 30 to the rod body 2. The configuration of the movable hood fixing member 30 is not limited to the above, and for example, a movable hood fixing member 30 with a structure similar to a lock nut may be used.
[0044] In this way, the movement of the movable hood 14 in a direction away from the fixed hood 13 is restricted by the movable hood fixing member 30 arranged adjacent to (in contact with) the movable hood 14, thereby preventing the movable hood 14 from moving in a direction that would cause the reel leg 6a to come off, and ensuring that the reel leg 6a is securely fixed (attached) by the reel seat 9.
[0045] Next, as shown in Figure 1, a fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include any of the reel seats 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, a reel 6, and a rod body 2. Furthermore, a fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include any of the reel seats 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, and the rod body 2. With the fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention, a tightening force acts in the reel leg attachment direction, making it difficult to loosen, and unlike general reel seats, the male threaded portion of the nut fitting portion is not exposed, which not only improves grip and appearance but also makes it possible to provide a fishing rod with a reel seat that can be configured compactly overall.
[0046] The dimensions, materials, and arrangement of each component described in this specification are not limited to those explicitly described in the embodiments, and each component can be modified to have any dimensions, materials, and arrangement that can be included in the scope of the present invention. Furthermore, components not explicitly described in this specification can be added to the described embodiments, and some of the components described in each embodiment can be omitted.
