To provide new shochu and spirits having aroma in response to diversified consumer preferences.SOLUTION: A method for producing shochu includes a step of producing a secondary mash by adding linden to a primary mash after completion of primary fermentation and fermenting the primary mash, and a step of obtaining shochu by vacuum-distilling the secondary mash.
