Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a curtain wire fastening system to a window frame, the curtain wire being intended to hang a curtain in front of a window. [Background technology]

[0002] The prior art contains several known curtain wire fastening systems for hanging curtains in front of a window. Usually, suitable hooks or fasteners are used to fasten the curtain wire to the wall, and the fastening point, i.e. the joining point of the two fastening elements, remains visible. The use of this solution may cause injury to the user or damage to the curtain fabric. Furthermore, this type of attachment is visually unappealing.

[0003] GB 2420834 A1 (published 7 June 2006) describes an easy to install curtain fastening system in which a fixing element is covered by a covering element.

[0004] The closest solution known from the prior art is that described in Estonian Utility Model No. EE01264 (Patent Document 2: published 15.12.2014) by the same applicant for a fastening system for curtain wires to a window frame. This system comprises fastening brackets fixed to the window frame at both ends of the curtain wire, one end of said brackets being fastened to the rear of the outer edge of the window frame and the other end of said brackets being formed with a fastening element for attaching the curtain wire. A hollow cover element is attached to cover the fastening bracket. The disadvantage of this solution is that the system cannot be permanently fixed to the window frame, therefore such a suspension system is mainly suitable for light, free-hanging curtains, such as curtains made of voile fabric. Such a fastening system may deform if used to hang heavier curtains, which may damage the edge of the window frame. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] UK Patent Application Publication No. 2420834 [Patent Document 2] Estonian Utility Model Registration No. EE01264 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] It is an object of the present invention to provide a curtain wire fastening system to a window frame, which can be securely fixed to said window frame, is easy to install and is safe to use, i.e. all protruding elements that may be dangerous when in use are covered. Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to provide the option to change and / or renew the appearance of the fastening system by replacing the caps of the covering elements as desired.

[0007] The advantage of the present invention is that it is easy and safe to use, the caps are interchangeable, so that the appearance of the fastening system can be changed and refreshed as desired by simply replacing the caps. The outer surface of the interchangeable caps can include different relief patterns, or the caps can have different shapes (flowers, butterflies, etc.) or have printed decorations on them. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] The present invention provides a curtain wire fastening system to a window frame, comprising wire fasteners at both ends of the curtain wire covered by hollow cover elements with caps for fastening the ends of the curtain wire to a window frame, the side walls of the hollow cover elements comprising lateral openings for the wire fasteners and the bottom of the cover elements comprising bottom holes for screwing the cover elements to a window frame by means of fastening elements.

[0009] In use, the wire fastener connected to the end of the curtain wire and threaded through the side opening in the cover element is connected to a fixing element inside the hollow cover element, and the fixing element is screwed into the window frame through a bottom hole in the cover element.

[0010] In other words, the wire fastener that, in use, is connected to the end of the curtain wire and coupled to the fastening element, and the fastening element that screws through the bottom of the cover element, are both located inside the hollow cover element, and at the top of the hollow cover element is a cap that closes the end of the hollow cover element.

[0011] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fixing element that is screwed through the bottom hole of the cover element and the wire fastener that is connected to the end of the curtain wire and connected to the fixing element are both hook screws.

[0012] The hollow covering element is formed by two end walls and a mainly cylindrical side wall between them, one end wall being formed by a cap attached to the covering element, the side wall of the hollow covering element comprising lateral openings for wire fasteners and curtain wires, and the other end wall, i.e. the bottom of said covering element, comprising a bottom hole for attaching said covering element to a window frame by using a fixing element.

[0013] Instead of a cylindrical side wall, the side wall of the cover element may have a cross section other than a generally round shape, such as a polygonal, oval, square or other shape.

[0014] Preferably, the bottom hole in the bottom of the cover element is cone-shaped, said bottom hole widening towards the inside of the hollow cover element.

[0015] The cap is preferably secured to the cover element by a snap fit, a screw fastening, or an interference fit. The outer surface of the cap (i.e. the surface facing the user in use) may have a raised surface (a surface in relief) and may have any shape, such as round, curved, square, polygonal, trapezoidal, rectangular, flower-shaped, etc.

[0016] According to a second preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fixing element that is screwed through the bottom hole of the cover element is a hook screw, and the wire fastener that is connected to the end of the curtain wire and is connected to the fixing element is a loop screw.

[0017] According to a third preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fixing element screwed through the bottom hole of the cover element is a loop screw, and the wire fastener connected to the end of the curtain wire and connected to the fixing element is a hook screw.

[0018] According to a fourth preferred embodiment of the present invention, the wire fastener connected to the end of the curtain wire is a loop or hook screw, which may be connected to a fixing element, which in this case may be a screw with a slotted head that is screwed through a bottom hole in the cover element, which may be in the form of a thumb screw that can be installed without the use of tools.

[0019] The cover element and the cap are preferably made of plastic.

[0020] The invention will now be described in more detail on the basis of non-limiting exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: [Brief description of the drawings]
