Abstract

A machine for manufacturing filter bags (S) is described, the machine comprising: a rotating carousel (1) having a plurality of grippers (2) for holding respective filtering chambers, each gripper (2) configured to move the filtering chamber to a pickup zone (3); a first reel (5) of a first strip (6) and a second reel (8) of a second strip (9); a selector device (10) having a first channel (12) for engaging the first strip (6) arriving from the first reel (5) and a second channel (13) for engaging the second strip (9) arriving from the second reel (8), the selector device (10) having a shared outfeed (10a) to the pickup zone (3); and a selector device (10) arranged along the first channel (12) and the second channel (13) for respectively receiving the first strip (6) and the second strip (9) of tags. the selector device (10) includes a first moving means (14) and a second moving means (15) configured to supply a second strip (9) of tags, respectively, the first moving means (14) and the second moving means (15) being selectively actuated to supply the first strip (6) or the second strip (9) alternately; a unit (11) for cutting tags, arranged adjacent to a shared outfeed (10a) of the selector device (10); a first splicing unit (17) and a second splicing unit (18) for the first strip (6) and the second strip (9), respectively, arranged between the corresponding first reel (5) and second reel (8) and the corresponding first moving means (14) and second moving means (15); and a partition wall (26) arranged to separate the first splicing unit (17) and the second splicing unit (18) from the carousel (1).
