Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a waterwheel power generation device. More specifically, it relates to a waterwheel power generation device that rotates a waterwheel by the flowing energy of domestic wastewater (mainly wastewater from the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet) drained from the upper floors of high-rise buildings and high-rise condominiums to generate electricity.

Background Art

[0002] A large amount of domestic wastewater is drained from high-rise buildings and high-rise condominiums every day. Among them, the wastewater from the kitchen 31, bathroom 32, washing machine 33, and toilet 34 flows from the exclusive piping 35 of each room into the common drain vertical pipe 36 and then into the sewage pit through the underfloor horizontal pipe 37 (see FIG. 7). A vent pipe 38 that leads to the rooftop is connected to the upper end of the drain vertical pipe 36. The drain vertical pipe 36 may be divided into a sewage pipe from the toilet 34 and a miscellaneous drain pipe from other places.

[0003] Depending on the height of the building, the domestic wastewater flowing down the drain vertical pipe 36 flows at a considerable speed, but currently, its flowing energy is wasted and flows into the sewage pit without being utilized at all. Attempts have been made to generate electricity by using the flowing energy of domestic wastewater that is thus wasted, and various power generation devices have been proposed.

[0004] For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2016-79959 discloses a power generation device that utilizes the flowing energy of domestic wastewater drained from the upper floors of high-rise buildings and high-rise condominiums. However, that device is a relatively large-scale one that requires a storage tank for domestic wastewater on the upper floor, is costly, and cannot be easily installed.

[0005] Also, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2013-24161 discloses a device that installs a power generation floor generator that performs small-scale power generation using a screw-type waterwheel in the sewer pipe for each floor and installs a propeller waterwheel-type main generator in the main sewer pipe that collects and flows the sewage from all floors from the rooftop to the ground. However, that device is also relatively large-scale, costly, and cannot be easily installed. [Prior art documents] [Patent Documents]

Embodiments for Carrying Out the Invention

[0016] Embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. The power generation device according to the present invention is a small and simple-structured waterwheel type power generation device that generates electricity by rotating a waterwheel with the flowing energy of domestic wastewater drained from an upper floor and flowing down a drain vertical pipe 21 in a multi-story building such as a high-rise building or a high-rise condominium. It can be installed not only in a new building but also in an existing building.

[0017] The waterwheel type power generation device 1 according to the present invention is composed of a box-shaped case 2 equipped with a power generation waterwheel 3 and a small generator 4 that generates electricity by receiving the rotation of the power generation waterwheel 3. Any commercially available generator 4 can be adopted. An appropriate power storage means is attached to the generator 4 as needed.

[0018] The waterwheel power generation device 1 is installed by cutting off a part of the lower floor part of the vertical drainage pipe 21 and assembling the box-shaped case 2 to the cut-off part 22 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The box-shaped case 2 needs to be assembled to the cut-off part 22 so that the domestic wastewater flowing down from the vertical drainage pipe 21 hits the end of the power generation waterwheel 3 (see FIG. 3).

[0019] That is, the upper part 23 of the cut-off part 22 of the vertical drainage pipe 21 is connected to the top surface opening 7 of the box-shaped case 2 in a watertight state, and the lower part 24 of the cut-off part 22 is connected to the bottom surface opening 8 of the box-shaped case 2 in a watertight state. The end of the power generation waterwheel 3 is arranged so as to come to the flow path of the domestic wastewater flowing down from the vertical drainage pipe 21 and flowing down from the top surface opening 7 toward the bottom surface opening 8 (see FIGS. 2 and 3). Although not shown in the figure, the box-shaped case 2 is provided with legs and receiving parts as appropriate, and is supported by fixing it to the first floor surface, the peripheral wall surface, etc.

[0020] Generally, the upper part 23 of the cut-off part 22 of the vertical drainage pipe 21 is made to face the inside of the box-shaped case 2 and is brought close to the power generation waterwheel 3. By doing so, the domestic wastewater flowing down does not scatter from the top surface opening 7 and concentrates on the end of the power generation waterwheel 3 (see FIG. 3). Also, it is preferable to incline the bottom surface 9 of the box-shaped case 2 downward toward the bottom surface opening 8. By doing so, it is possible to prevent domestic wastewater from remaining in the box-shaped case 2.

[0021] The cut-off part 22 of the vertical drainage pipe 21 may be such that a part of the vertical drainage pipe 21 is completely removed and separated vertically, or the connecting part 25 connecting the upper part 23 and the lower part 24 may be left (see FIG. 4). The connecting part 25 has a semi-circular cross-section. When the connecting part 25 is provided, the domestic wastewater flowing down from the upper part 23 of the cut-off part 22 of the vertical drainage pipe 21 flows down along the inner surface of the connecting part 25 without escaping from the power generation waterwheel 3 and flows into the lower part 24, so there is no waste and the power generation efficiency is improved.

[0022] The water turbine power generation device 1a of the second embodiment of the present invention, shown in Figures 5 and 6, is equipped with a power generation water turbine 3 and has a box-shaped case 2a with connecting pipes 11 and 12 pre-installed on its top and bottom surfaces. A portion of the lower floor section of the drainage vertical pipe 21 is cut off, and the upper portion 23 of the cut-off section 22 is connected to the connecting pipe 11 on the top side of the box-shaped case 2a, while the lower portion 24 of the cut-off section 22 is connected to the connecting pipe 12 on the bottom side of the box-shaped case 2a. In this way, the box-shaped case 2a is assembled to the cut-off section 22 of the drainage vertical pipe 21, thereby enabling power generation when domestic wastewater flowing down the drainage vertical pipe 21 strikes the end of the power generation water turbine 3.

[0023] The connection between the connecting pipe 11 and the upper portion 23 of the cut section 22, and the connection between the connecting pipe 12 and the lower portion 24 of the cut section 22, are made via flanged joints or other arbitrary joints (couplings) 13.

[0024] In this embodiment as well, it is preferable to position the lower end of the connecting pipe 11 on the top side of the box-shaped case 2a facing into the box-shaped case, bringing its opening closer to the power generation turbine 3. Also, as in the first embodiment, the bottom surface of the box-shaped case 2a is sloped downward toward the bottom opening 8. In addition, although not shown in the figures, a connecting part similar to the connecting part 25 described above may be provided to connect the lower part of the connecting pipe 11 on the top side of the box-shaped case 2a and the upper part of the connecting pipe 12 on the bottom side.

[0025] In this second embodiment, the turbine-type power generation device 1a can be easily removed and installed by connecting and disconnecting the joint 13, making maintenance and replacement easy. [Industrial applicability]

[0026] As described above, the hydroelectric power generation device according to the present invention has a simple configuration, can be installed relatively easily and at low cost, can be installed not only in new buildings but also in existing buildings, generates electricity by rotating a water turbine using the energy of flowing domestic wastewater, and can be used as a power source for emergency lights, etc., thus effectively utilizing domestic wastewater that would otherwise be wasted, and has great industrial potential.
