Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a material fixing assembly, and more particularly to a material fixing assembly for fixing a plurality of materials.
Background Art
[0002] Generally, paving materials are fixed to various structures with concrete or mortar. When the owner of a structure desires to move or remove the paving materials, the owner has to crush the paving materials to remove them from an unwanted location. The process of crushing the paving materials results in a wasteful and costly process for the consumer.
[0003] It is desirable to securely dispose of and reuse paving materials. Therefore, there is a need for a paving material fixing system designed to complement a plurality of paving materials while facilitating the removal of the paving materials and their placement in another desired location.
[0004] As described above, the present invention provides a material fixing assembly.
Summary of the Invention
[0005] A material fixing assembly for a paving material pedestal (support base) system is provided, the assembly generally including a cap portion, a base portion, and a male fixing pin. The cap portion is inserted into the structural slab of the material. The base portion is disposed in contact with the cap portion and includes a formed receiving portion having an edge on the inner surface of the base portion. The male fixing pin is disposed on the top plate of the pedestal assembly and includes a head that interconnects with the formed receiving portion of the base portion.

[0028] The fixing mechanism assembly 2 generally includes a cap portion 10 and a base portion 20.
[0029] As shown, the cap portion 10 is a disc. The cap portion 10 includes an outer surface 12 and an inner surface 14. The cap portion 10 further includes a recess 16 at the central portion of the cap portion 10. The cap portion 10 further includes a circumferential portion 18 that slopes downward.
[0030] As shown, the base 20 is a cylindrical member. The base 20 further includes an outer surface 22 and an inner surface 24. The outer surface 22 is positioned in contact with the outer surface 12 of the cap portion 10. The inner surface 24 further includes a molding receiving portion 26. The molding receiving portion 26 is key-engaged to the head 50 of the male fixing pins 40, 40', which will be described further below. The molding receiving portion 26 further includes a rim 28 around the entire circumference of the inner surface 24. The rim 28 extends toward the outer surface 22.
[0031] The fixing mechanism assembly 2 may have a height of 19.05 mm (0.7500 inches). The cap portion 10 may have a length of 31.75 mm (1.2500 inches). The recess 16 may have a length of 3.175 mm (0.1250 inches). The diameter of the recess 16 may be 0.175 mm (0.1250 inches). The diameter of the edge of the cap portion 10 is 0.31.75 mm (0.2500 inches). The chamfer between the cap portion 10 and the base portion 20 may be 1.5875 mm (1 / 16 inch). The base portion 20 may have a height of 12.70 mm (0.5000 inches). The base portion 20 may have a length of 19.05 mm (0.7500 inches) and a width of 15.88 mm (0.6250 inches). The thickness of the base portion 20 may be 1.588 millimeters (0.0625 inches). The inner surface 24 may have a length of 15.08 millimeters (0.5938 inches). The distance between the cap portion 10 and the base portion 20 may be 0.19.05 millimeters (0.7500 inches). Those skilled in the art will understand that the applicant's design is not an exclusive embodiment.
[0032] As shown, the pedestal assembly 4 generally includes a top plate 30. The top plate 30 is substantially circular and has a circumference 32. The top plate 30 further includes a number of male fixing pins 40.
[0033] In the exemplary embodiment, the male fixing pin 40 includes a head 50, a main portion 60, and an end portion 70.
[0034] The head 50 of the male fixing pin 40 is a cylindrical member. The head 50 further includes an upper part 52. The upper part 52 is an upward-facing disc in contact with the head 50. The head 50 further includes a raised ring portion 54 located in the central part of the upper part 52. The head 50 further includes a passage 56 extending the length of the head 50.
[0035] The main portion 60 of the male fixing pin 40 is an elongated cylindrical member. The main portion 60 includes an upward-facing circular base portion 62. The main portion 60 further includes a rim portion 64 formed between the head portion 50 and the main portion 60. The rim portion 64 closely resembles the rim portion 28 of the molding receiving portion 26. The main portion 60 has a circumference larger than the circumference of the head portion 50.
[0036] In another embodiment, the main portion 60' of the male fixing pin 40' is a cylindrical member that provides a lower height for the male fixing pin 40'. Those skilled in the art will understand that the applicant's design is not an exclusive embodiment.
[0037] The main body 60 also shares a passage 56 with the head 50.
[0038] The end portion 70 of the male fixing pin 40 is a raised disc with an upward-facing portion 72 extending to meet an upward-facing circular base portion 62. The end portion 70 further has a circumference larger than the circumference of the main portion 60.
[0039] When assembled, the male fixing pins 40, 40' are generally positioned along a pair of intersecting diagonals so that they form an approximate square, as indicated by the outline created by the multiple male fixing pins 40, 40'. Furthermore, the male fixing pins 40, 40' positioned along the bottom of the lower middle section intersect with the plane of the top plate 30 and are coplanar with the top plate 30 across its entire plane.
[0040] As shown, the plate extension 80 is positioned beneath the top plate 30 along the central columnar portion of the top plate 30. The plate extension 80 has a threaded surface 82 that extends along the length of the plate extension 80 so as to substantially surround the plate extension 80.
[0041] The pedestal assembly 4 further includes pedestal columns 90 positioned along the vertical portion of the pedestal assembly 4. Multiple reinforcing arms 92 extend along the circumference of the pedestal columns 90. The ends of the pedestal columns 90 are circular bases 94.
[0042] When the user is ready to use the material fixing assembly 1, the fixing mechanism assembly 2 is inserted into the material structure 120. The user then selects which dimensions of male fixing pins 40, 40' to insert into the top plate 30. Next, the user positions the molded receiving portion 26 on the heads 50 of the male fixing pins 40, 40'. The molded receiving portion 26 is formed and connected to the male fixing pins 40, 40'. Specifically, the heads 50 abut against the top of the molded receiving portion 26. The edge 28 of the molded receiving portion 26 interconnects with the edge 64 of the main portion 60. The passage 56 is filled with pressure, resulting in a secure fit for the fixing mechanism assembly 2.
[0043] Those skilled in the art should note that various changes and modifications to the embodiments described herein will be obvious. Such changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention and without impairing its intended advantages. For example, various embodiments of the systems and methods can be provided based on various combinations of the subject matter features and functions provided herein.
