AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing apparatuses struggle to process metal foils made of nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials into desired shapes due to their brittleness, leading to deformation and breakage during processing.

Method used

A foil processing apparatus with a mounting table, pressing rod, and pivot members that pivot around specific axes to apply bending stress, allowing the metal foil to be fixed and cracked into desired shapes without breaking.

Benefits of technology

The apparatus stabilizes the processing of nanocrystalline soft magnetic material foils by cracking and shaping them effectively, ensuring precise and crack-free foil pieces are produced.

Abstract

The present invention provides a foil processing apparatus capable of stably processing foil strips from metal foils of nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials. [Solution] The mounting table 10 of the foil piece processing apparatus 1 comprises a processing table 13 in which a processing surface 13a corresponding to the shape of the foil piece Fb is formed as part of the mounting surface 10a, and a pair of first pivot members 11, 11 and a pair of second pivot members 12, 12. The pair of first pivot members 11, 11 are pivotally attached to a pair of first support columns 31, 31 so as to pivot around a pair of parallel first pivot axes L1, L1 on either side of the processing surface 13a. The pair of second pivot members 12, 12 are pivotally attached to a pair of second support columns 32, 32 so as to pivot around a pair of second pivot axes L2, L2 which are perpendicular to each of the first pivot axes L1, L1 on either side of the processing surface 13a.
