Abstract

The present invention provides a control device for an internal combustion engine that can suppress the dilution of oil by fuel. [Solution] The control device 1 is used to control an internal combustion engine 2 that performs in-cylinder injection. Based on the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine 2, the control device 1 calculates a fuel dilution region A in which the proportion of liquid fuel F2 injected into the cylinder 5 and remaining attached to the liner portion 52 that mixes with oil increases. The fuel dilution region A is part of the combustion cycle of the internal combustion engine 2. In the combustion cycle, the control device 1 controls the injection of fuel within the range excluding the fuel dilution region A.
