Abstract

The present invention provides a lens unit that ensures sufficient airflow while preventing foreign matter from entering the lens barrel from the outside. [Solution] The lens unit (100A) has openings at both the image plane side and the object side of the lens barrel (2), and includes a ventilation passage (50) that connects these openings within the lens barrel (2). The object side end of the ventilation passage (50) includes a gap (41) formed between the edge surface (L1c) of the front lens element (L1) and the receiving surface (25) of the lens barrel (2).
