[Solution] In a driving support method that sets a target driving route for a target vehicle and supports the target vehicle's driving along the target driving route, information on the location and nature of the road surface abnormality is obtained from a database that stores information on road surface abnormalities occurring on the road surface (S3), a vehicle capable of driving through the abnormal location is selected as an inspection vehicle based on the obtained information on the nature of the abnormality (S5~S7), a driving route for the inspection vehicle to drive through the abnormal location is set and the degree of impact on the inspection vehicle when driving through the abnormal location is measured (S10), it is determined whether the degree of impact is within an acceptable range (S11), and if it is determined that the degree of impact on the inspection vehicle is within an acceptable range, the driving route to drive through the abnormal location is set as the target driving route for the target vehicle (S12).
