Abstract
To provide a dry-sump engine that can suppress excessive load. [Solution] The engine 10 includes a scavenging pump 17, a hydraulic pressure sensor 24, and a control device 23. The scavenging pump 17 rotates in conjunction with the crankshaft 14. The amount of oil discharged per revolution by the scavenging pump 17 is adjustable. The hydraulic pressure sensor 24 measures the hydraulic pressure of the oil transferred from the scavenging pump 17 to the oil tank 21. The control device 23 controls the amount of oil discharged per revolution by the scavenging pump 17. The control device 23 starts a process to reduce the amount of oil discharged per revolution by the scavenging pump 17 when the output value of the hydraulic pressure sensor 24 exceeds a predetermined value.
