Abstract

The present invention provides a reinforcing member and a building that can improve the design flexibility of the support structure at the corners of a roof. [Solution] The reinforcing member 60 is a member that reinforces the inclined member 53 that supports the eaves. The reinforcing member 60 comprises a base portion 61 positioned on the upper surface of the structural shaft member 20X, a shaft portion 62 extending downward from the lower surface of the base portion 61 and inserted through the vertical hole 23C of the structural shaft member 20X, and an arm portion 63 that supports the inclined member 53 positioned on the structural shaft member 20X. The arm portion 63 has an arm plate 64 that contacts the side surface of the inclined member 53. The arm plate 64 extends diagonally downward from the upper surface of the base portion 61 such that in a plan view the tip portion 64A of the arm plate 64 is located outside the base portion 61, and in a side view the tip portion 64A of the arm plate 64 is located below the base portion 61. The arm plate 64 is provided with a first hole 63A through which a first connecting member 65 that connects the inclined member 53 and the arm plate 64 is inserted.
