Abstract

[Solution] The heating device 3 comprises a heating element 14 formed in an annular shape from a plate-shaped member made of a multilayer film that generates heat by the absorption and release of hydrogen, a sealed container 5 that houses the heating element 14, an introduction line for introducing hydrogen-containing gas into the sealed container 5, an outlet line for releasing the gas that has been used to generate heat in the heating element 14 due to the absorption and release of hydrogen in the heating element 14, an induction coil 15 formed by winding a linear conductive member around the central axis of the heating element 14 on the outer circumference of the sealed container 5, and a power supply 19 that applies an alternating current to the induction coil 15, wherein the power supply 19 is capable of changing the frequency of the alternating current.
