Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to spectacles with a simplified hinge, more particularly to spectacles provided with a hinge making it possible to connect the temples to the spectacles in a simplified manner. [Background technology]
[0002] As is well known, the connection between the temples and the spectacles, or rather the front part of the spectacles, occurs by means of a hinge that connects the front part of the spectacles to one end of the temples. The connection between the front part and the temples by the hinge must be provided by using a small screw that allows this connection. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0003] The use of screws generally presents a problem when the user must assemble the temples themselves, which often requires the involvement of a professional optician.
[0004] In either case, the connection between the temples and the front of the glasses can be fragile because the hinges are extremely small parts and are often subjected to severe stresses from repeated opening and closing of the hinges and excessive splaying of the temples relative to the front of the glasses.
[0005] The goal of the present invention is to provide spectacles in which hinges for the connection between the lenses, which together with the bridge constitute the front part of the spectacles, and the temples of the spectacles are provided in such a way that the connection between the temples and the front part does not require the use of parts such as screws, rivets, bushings, etc.
[0006] Within this goal, the object of the invention is to provide eyeglasses having hinges that are extremely robust and thus enable the connection between the temples and the lenses of the eyeglasses to be subjected to heavy use without the risk of failure.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of eyeglasses in which a hinge for connection between the front and temples of the eyeglasses is provided that does not require the use of welds or adhesive joints.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of eyeglasses in which the temples can be connected to the front of the eyeglasses by hinges through a process that is simple and quick and does not extend manufacturing time.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of glasses in which the hinge for the connection between the temples and the front portion has minimal impact on the overall aesthetics of the glasses.
[0010] Another object of the invention is to provide spectacles in which the hinge for the connection between the temples and the front part blends in with and optionally constitutes an enhancement to the aesthetics of the front part.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide eyeglasses that are highly reliable, relatively easy to provide, and cost-competitive. [Means for solving the problem]
[0012] This aim, as well as these and other objects which will become apparent hereinafter, is achieved by a pair of spectacles with a simplified hinge, characterized in that it comprises a pair of lenses, a pair of temples and a hinge for connection between each of said temples and said lenses, said hinge comprising an element connecting the lenses and the temples, the element being adapted at one end to be connected to the lenses and provided at the other end with a portion adapted to engage with a retaining and locking element, the temples being provided with a cavity adapted to receive and lock said retaining and locking element, the retaining and locking element serving as a pivot for the temples relative to the connecting element.
[0013] Further features and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the spectacles according to the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which: [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0015] With reference to the drawings in which like reference numbers indicate like elements, a pair of spectacles according to the present invention, generally designated by the reference number 1, in a first embodiment thereof comprises a pair of lenses 2 adapted to be coupled to respective temples 3.
[0016] The connection between the lenses 2 and the temples 3 occurs by the presence in each of the rods 3 of a cavity or through seat 4 adapted to connect to a hinge.
[0017] Advantageously, the hinge, indicated by reference numeral 5, comprises an element 7 for connecting the lens 2 and the temple 3, for example being substantially L-shaped and having a portion 6 adapted to engage at one end with a retaining and locking element 9.
[0018] Advantageously, portion 6 is hook-shaped. Furthermore, the hook-shaped portion 6 is formed to have a cavity 8 with parallel sides.
[0019] The opposite end of the L-shaped connecting element 7 is instead provided with at least a pair of pivots 11 allowing connection to the lens 2 .
[0020] Advantageously, the holding and locking element 9 consists of two hemispheres 9a and 9b, e.g. substantially spherical, interconnected by a pivot 10. The pivot 10 is adapted to engage in the cavity 8 of the L-shaped element 7, in particular the hook-shaped portion 6 thereof.
[0021] A substantially spherical element 9 is adapted to be received within the cavity 4 . The cavity 4 is shaped to have an opening size D1 that is smaller than the diameter D2 of the substantially spherical elements 9, such that coupling of the elements 9 within the cavity 4 occurs by interference.
[0022] 2 to 7 show how the temple 3 is used with respect to the lens 2 of the glasses. Figures 2 and 3 show that the L-shaped connecting element 7 is inserted into the cavity 4 and projects outwards from the opposite side towards the temple 3. At this point, the substantially spherical element 9 has been inserted into the hook-shaped portion 6, in particular with the pivot axis 10 of the substantially spherical element 9 being received in the cavity 8 of the hook-shaped portion 6, as shown in Figures 4 and 5.
[0023] Once insertion has taken place, the L-shaped element 7 is retracted so that the substantially spherical element 9 is accommodated in the cavity 4 of the temple 3, in order to reach the configuration shown in FIG. 5. In this state, the L-shaped element 7 maintains the temple 3 in a closed configuration. Alternatively, the open configuration of the temple 3 is provided by rotating the temple about a pivot axis 10 relative to the substantially L-shaped element. The substantially spherical element 9 actually engages with the base 4 by interference, so that the temple 3 can rotate around the substantially L-shaped element 7, this rotation taking place about the pivot axis 10.
[0024] This configuration is shown in FIGS. Thus, in principle, a pair of eyeglasses with a simplified hinge according to the invention comprises a hinge with an L-shaped connecting element adapted to be connected at one end to a lens and at the other end to a temple, the hinge further comprising a retaining and locking element, e.g. substantially spherical and connected to a cavity in the temple, the substantially spherical element serving both as an element for retaining and locking the L-shaped connecting element in the cavity formed in the temple and as a fulcrum of the temple relative to the L-shaped connecting element.
[0025] In another embodiment, the connecting element 7, instead of having a pivot axis 11 as described in the previous embodiment, is combined with a ring 20 which at least partially surrounds the lens 2 of the glasses and serves as an element for holding said lens, as shown in FIG. 10.
[0026] It has been found, in fact, that the spectacles according to the invention fully achieve their intended aims and objectives, since they make it possible to carry out a very simplified assembly of the temples to the lenses, with the temples being able to be assembled to the lenses without having to resort to the aid of tools, and thus this operation can be carried out directly by the user, and thus without having to resort to a specialized technician.
[0027] Eyeglasses so created are susceptible to numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.
[0028] Moreover, all the details may be replaced by other technically equivalent elements. In fact, the materials used and the incidental shapes and dimensions may be any according to the needs and circumstances of the art.
[0029] The disclosures in Italian Patent Application No. 102019000012243, from which this application claims priority, are incorporated herein by reference.
[0030] Although the technical configurations referred to in any claim are followed by reference signs, these reference signs are included merely for the purpose of making the claims easier to understand, and therefore such reference signs do not have the effect of limiting the interpretation of each element identified as an example by such reference signs.
