Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention falls within the field of systems for cleaning detection devices of vehicles, and more particularly relates to a cleaning device which sprays a cleaning liquid onto a detection surface of the detection device. [Background technology]
[0002] In recent years, many equipment devices have been added to modern vehicle models. Some of these equipment devices operate via detection devices, such as, for example, automated driving systems. The automated driving systems comprise a number of detection devices, such as, for example, cameras, radars, LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) or other infrared wave sensors. Such detection devices generally comprise a detection surface, through which waves emitted by the detection device are emitted into the external environment surrounding the vehicle in which the automated driving system is installed. This detection surface must generally be optically neutral and suitable for not interfering with the signals emitted or received by the detection devices.
[0003] In order to maintain good operation of these detection devices over time, systems for cleaning the detection devices have also been developed in recent years. These systems generally comprise at least one cleaning device that is installed on the detection device and is capable of spraying a cleaning liquid onto the detection face of said device. Furthermore, the cleaning system may also comprise a circuit capable of directing an air flow towards the detection face.
[0004] The liquid spray and the air blowing performed by the air circuit are located close to the detection surface of one of the detection devices so as to optimize the cleaning of said detection surface. However, the liquid spray and air blowing functions are not optimally integrated. These current systems are particularly complex and therefore difficult to implement. Summary of the Invention
[0005] The present invention therefore seeks to improve such cleaning systems by proposing a cleaning device capable of spraying a cleaning liquid and directing an air flow towards the detection surface of the detection device in the module, and optimized to best perform these two functions.
[0006] The main subject of the present invention is a cleaning device for cleaning a shiny surface of a detection device for a vehicle, the cleaning device having at least two parts that are fitted together and at least partially define a cleaning liquid distribution network and an air flow circuit, the cleaning liquid distribution network being separate from the air flow circuit.
[0007] In other words, the cleaning device comprises, on the one hand, a cleaning liquid distribution network and, on the other hand, an air flow circuit, so that the cleaning device can both spray cleaning liquid towards the detection surface of the detection device and guide an air flow towards this detection surface, all from within one and the same particularly compact module.
[0008] It will be further understood that the distribution network and part of the ventilation circuit are formed by the cooperation between two components of the cleaning device, in other words by the cooperation between two components of the cleaning device, which on the one hand make it possible to transport the cleaning liquid towards the detection surface and, on the other hand, make it possible to direct an air flow towards this detection surface.
[0009] By "separate" it is meant that the distribution network and the ventilation circuit are not in communication with each other, so that the cleaning fluid flowing through the distribution network does not come into contact with the air flow circulating in the ventilation circuit.
[0010] Furthermore, the cleaning device is composed of at least two parts attached to each other to form said cleaning device, which may be of the same composition, i.e. the same material, for example a synthetic material such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and are fixed to each other, for example by ultrasonic welding.
[0011] By shiny surface is meant any type of optical surface that allows the passage of the detection device signal. Thus, the shiny surface can be made of glass, plastic material, or any type of material known to those skilled in the art that allows the passage of the detection device signal.
[0012] It will be appreciated that cooperation between at least two parts makes it possible to form at least part of the distribution network and the ventilation circuit.
[0013] According to one optional feature, the cleaning fluid distribution network comprises a cleaning fluid spray outlet.
[0014] According to one optional feature, the ventilation circuit comprises an air flow outlet.
[0015] It will therefore be appreciated that the cleaning fluid spray outlet and the air flow outlet are separate.
[0016] It will be understood that the cleaning fluid distribution network and the air flow circuit are separate as far as their respective outlets, ie the air flow outlet and the cleaning fluid spray outlet, are concerned.
[0017] According to another optional feature of the invention, at least one dimension of the spray outlet is an increasing dimension, the dimension being measured perpendicular to the flow direction of the cleaning liquid.
[0018] It will be understood that at least one dimension increases from the upstream end of the spray outlet in the direction of flow of the cleaning liquid, i.e. the end adjacent to the chamber, to the downstream end of the spray outlet in the direction of flow of the cleaning liquid, i.e. the end opposite the end adjacent to the chamber.
[0019] It will be appreciated that the spray outlet is located in an extension of the chamber.
[0020] In other words, the cleaning liquid spray outlet becomes wider from its upstream end in the direction of the fluid jet flow to its downstream end in the direction of the fluid jet flow.
[0021] According to one optional feature of the invention, the distribution network further comprises at least a pipe and a chamber, the cleaning liquid spray outlet being hydraulically connected to the pipe by the chamber.
[0022] Thus, in this configuration, the cleaning liquid can flow through the chamber and out of the pipe towards the spray outlet.
[0023] According to another optional feature of the invention, the chamber is defined by two portions.
[0024] According to another optional feature of the invention, the spray outlet is defined by two portions.
[0025] According to one optional feature of the invention, the pipe is defined by only one of the two portions.
[0026] According to one aspect of the invention, the pipe is entirely formed by one of two parts and is configured to be hydraulically connected to a washing liquid distribution system installed in the vehicle and / or in the automated driving system of the vehicle, said distribution system conveying the washing liquid to the washing device, in other words one and the same single part defines the pipe.
[0027] According to one feature of the invention, the chamber and the spray outlet are elements of a distribution network formed by cooperation between two components of the cleaning device, in other words, the chamber and the spray outlet are defined only by the two components of the cleaning device.
[0028] Additionally, the cleaning fluid is sprayed onto the sensing surface at the spray outlets of the distribution network.
[0029] According to another optional feature of the invention, one and / or the other of the two parts contributes to defining at least one conduit extending in the chamber and opening at the spray outlet.
[0030] According to another optional feature, one or the other of the two parts has a spray wall extending in a plane intersecting the main extension direction of the conduit.
[0031] By "conduit" it is meant that the cross section of the flow of the cleaning liquid is smaller in this conduit than in the rest of the chamber, therefore the cleaning liquid flows faster in the conduit compared to the flow rate in the chamber, resulting in the same flow rate in the conduit and in the chamber.
[0032] Due to the increased flow rate and because the conduit is inclined relative to the spray wall, the cleaning liquid is sprayed against the spray wall and forms a flat jet, i.e. a jet of cleaning liquid spreading along a plane towards the detection surface.
[0033] According to another optional feature of the invention, at least one dimension of one end of the conduit at the spray outlet is an increasing dimension that increases towards the spray outlet, the dimension being measured perpendicular to a flow direction of the cleaning liquid within the conduit.
[0034] According to another optional feature of the invention, the ventilation circuit further comprises at least a duct and a cavity, the air outlet being pneumatically connected to the duct by the cavity.
[0035] According to one optional feature of the invention, the cavity is defined by two portions.
[0036] According to one optional feature of the invention, the air flow outlet is defined by two portions.
[0037] According to one optional feature of the invention, the duct is defined by only one of the two portions.
[0038] Thus, according to one feature of the invention, the air flow can circulate from the duct towards the air flow outlet by circulating through the cavity. In this configuration, the duct is entirely formed by one of the two parts and is configured to be pneumatically connected to an air flow circulation system installed in the vehicle and / or in the automated driving system of the vehicle, which circulation system forcibly circulates the air flow to the cleaning device. In other words, in this configuration, one and the same single part defines the pipe.
[0039] According to one feature of the invention, the cavity and the air outlet are elements of an airflow circuit formed by cooperation between two components of the cleaning device, in other words, in this configuration, the cavity and the air outlet are defined only by the two components of the cleaning device.
[0040] Additionally, the air flow is directed towards the sensing surface at the air flow outlet of the ventilation circuit.
[0041] According to another optional feature of the invention, the cleaning device includes an attachment element for attachment to the detection device.
[0042] According to one feature of the invention, the attachment elements, the pipes and the ducts may be defined by one and the same part of the cleaning device, it being understood that in this configuration, one and the same part of the cleaning device defines the attachment elements and the pipes and the ducts.
[0043] According to another optional feature of the invention, the pipes extend in a general extension direction.
[0044] According to another optional feature of the invention, the duct extends in a main direction of extension.
[0045] According to another optional feature of the invention, the overall extension direction is parallel to the main extension direction.
[0046] According to another optional feature of the invention, one of the two parts comprises at least one separation element separating the distribution network from the air flow circuit.
[0047] According to one optional feature of the invention, the other part comprises at least one separating member capable of cooperating with the separating element to separate the distribution network from the air flow circuit in a fluid-tight manner.
[0048] According to another optional feature of the invention, the separating element is a rib and the separating member is a groove in which the rib is received.
[0049] According to another optional feature of the invention, the distribution network comprises at least a first cleaning liquid spray outlet and at least a second cleaning liquid spray outlet, it will be appreciated that in this configuration the cleaning liquid flows from the pipe towards the two spray outlets, thus forming two different flat jets.
[0050] According to another optional feature of the invention, the distribution network comprises at least a first cleaning liquid spray outlet, a second cleaning liquid spray outlet and at least a third cleaning liquid spray outlet, It will be appreciated that the cleaning liquid flows from the pipe towards the three spray outlets, thus forming three different flat jets.
[0051] According to another optional feature of the invention, the cleaning device comprises a first part, a second part and at least a third part, the first part and the second part contributing to define a cleaning liquid distribution network and the second part and the third part contributing to define an air circulation circuit, in other words, the distribution network is defined only by the first part and the second part and the ventilation circuit is defined only by the second part and the third part.
[0052] In other words, the second portion is sandwiched between the first portion and the third portion, the second portion having a first side that cooperates with the first portion to at least partially define the distribution network and a second side that cooperates with the second portion to at least partially define the ventilation circuit.
[0053] According to another optional feature of the invention, the distribution network comprises at least a pipe, a chamber, and a cleaning liquid spray outlet hydraulically connected to the pipe by the chamber, the chamber and the spray outlet being defined by a first portion and a second portion, and the pipe being generally defined by the first portion.
[0054] According to another optional feature of the invention, the ventilation circuit comprises at least a duct, a cavity, and an air flow outlet pneumatically connected to the duct by the cavity, the cavity and the air flow outlet being defined by the second portion and the third portion, and the duct being generally defined by the third portion.
[0055] The invention also relates to a detection assembly comprising at least one detection surface and a cleaning device for cleaning the detection surface according to any one of the preceding features.
[0056] According to another optional feature of the invention, the detection surface extends in a main plane and the cleaning device is configured to spray the cleaning liquid in the form of a flat jet extending in a plane intersecting the main plane.
[0057] Further features, details and advantages of the invention will become more clearly apparent from reading the following description, with reference to the attached schematic drawings, and from examining a number of exemplary embodiments given by way of non-limiting indication. [0066] The features, variations and various embodiments of the invention can be combined with each other in various combinations, unless they are mutually incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variations of the invention including only a selection of the features described below can be envisaged independently of the other features described, if the selection of the features is sufficient to provide a technical advantage and / or to distinguish the invention from the prior art.
[0067] In the following description, the terms "longitudinal", "transverse" and "longitudinal" refer to the orientation of the cleaning device according to the invention. The longitudinal direction corresponds to the main extension direction of the pipes of the cleaning device, this longitudinal direction being parallel to the longitudinal axis L of the L, V, T shown in the figures. The transverse direction corresponds to the main extension direction of the air outlets, this transverse direction being parallel to the transverse axis T of the reference system L, V, T, this transverse axis T being perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L. Finally, the longitudinal direction corresponds to the direction parallel to the longitudinal axis V of the reference system L, V, T, this longitudinal axis V being perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L and to the transverse axis T.
[0068] Furthermore, the terms "upstream" and "downstream" as used in the remainder of this specification refer to the direction of circulation of cleaning fluid and / or air flow within the cleaning apparatus.
[0069] 1 shows a detection assembly 1 adapted for installation in, for example, a vehicle and / or an automated driving system for a vehicle. The detection assembly 1 consists at least of a detection device 2 and a cleaning device 4 according to the invention, the latter providing cleaning of a part of the detection device 2.
[0070] More specifically, the detection device 2 comprises, on the one hand, a body 6, for example comprising a sensor, and, on the other hand, a detection surface 8 arranged between the sensor housed in the body 6 and the external environment surrounding the detection device 2. The sensor of the detection device 2 may for example be a camera, a radar or a LIDAR, this list being non-exhaustive. A detection device 2 of this kind detects one or more objects present in the external environment surrounding the detection device 2 by emitting and / or receiving electromagnetic waves to and / or from this environment. The detection surface 8 is designed in such a way that the electromagnetic waves emitted and / or received by the sensor can pass through said detection surface 8 without being deflected or modified.
[0071] According to the invention, the cleaning device 4 comprises a cleaning liquid distribution network 10 and an air circulation circuit 12 separate from the distribution network 10. The cleaning device 4 is configured to spray the cleaning liquid in the form of a flat jet 14 against the detection surface 8 of the detection device 2, the flat jet 14 being a jet of cleaning liquid that spreads mainly in a plane. The cleaning device 4 is also configured to guide an air flow towards the detection surface 8. The spraying of the cleaning liquid by the cleaning device 4 thus makes it possible to wash off any elements deposited on the detection surface 8 from said surface, and the guidance of the air flow makes it possible to dry said detection surface 8.
[0072] A first embodiment of a cleaning device 4 will now be described with particular reference to FIGS.
[0073] As described herein above, the cleaning device 4 comprises, on the one hand, a cleaning fluid distribution network 10 and, on the other hand, an air flow ventilation circuit 12, the distribution network 10 and the ventilation circuit 12 being separate from each other. It will be understood that the distribution network 10 and the ventilation circuit 12 are not in communication with each other, so that the cleaning fluid flowing through the distribution network 10 is not in contact with the air flow circulating through the ventilation circuit 12.
[0074] According to the invention, and more particularly as seen in Fig. 2, the cleaning device 4 is composed of at least two parts 16, 18, each of which is fitted together and at least partially defines the cleaning fluid distribution network 10 and the air circulation circuit 12. In other words, the cleaning device 4 comprises a first part 16 and a second part 18 which cooperate with each other to define at least a part of the distribution network 10 and the vent circuit 12, one being fluid-tight with respect to the other. In other words, it is the cooperation between these two parts 16, 18 that makes it possible to form at least a part of the distribution network 10 and the vent circuit 12.
[0075] Furthermore, the distribution network 10 comprises at least a pipe 20, a chamber 22 and a cleaning liquid spray outlet 24 hydraulically connected to the pipe 20 by the chamber 22, the chamber 22 and the spray outlet 24 being defined by the two parts 16, 18, the pipe 20 being defined by only one of the two parts 16, 18. According to the example shown here, the first part 16 comprises the pipe 20 and contributes to the formation of the spray outlet 24 and the chamber 22 in cooperation with the second part 18. The first part 16 comprises a first wall 26 with which the second part 18 cooperates to form the chamber 22 and the spray outlet 24.
[0076] Furthermore, the ventilation circuit 12 comprises at least a duct 28, a cavity 30 and an air outlet 32 pneumatically connected to the duct 28 by the cavity 30, the cavity 30 and the air outlet 32 being defined by the two parts 16, 18 and the duct 28 being defined by only one of the two parts 16, 18. According to the example shown here, the first part 16 comprises the duct 28 and contributes to forming, in cooperation with the second part 18, the air outlet 32 and the cavity 30, and the first wall 26 of the first part 16 cooperates with the second part 18 to form the cavity 30 and the air outlet.
[0077] The pipe 20 and duct 28 will now be described in more detail, followed by a description of the chamber 22, cavity 30, spray outlet 24 and air outlet 32.
[0078] The pipes 20 of the distribution network 10 extend here in a longitudinal direction L, advantageously perpendicular to the first wall 26 of the first portion 16. According to alternatives, the pipes 20 can extend in different directions without departing from the scope of the invention. The pipes 20 have a cylindrical overall shape through which the cleaning liquid can flow. The pipes 20 have a free end 34 and, at the end opposite the free end 34, open on the first wall 26 and penetrate the first wall 26. More specifically, the first wall 26 comprises a first face 36 and a second face 38, the pipes 20 extending from the first face 36 in a direction away from the second face 38. However, the pipes 20 penetrate the first wall 26 so as to open on the second face 38 of the first wall 26.
[0079] The free end 34 is provided with a mounting bead 40 so that the pipe 20 can be attached, for example, to a cleaning fluid distribution system of a vehicle and / or a driver assistance system.
[0080] The duct 28 itself extends here in a longitudinal direction L, advantageously perpendicular to the first wall 26 of the first part 16. From the above it will be seen that the pipes 20 extend in a general extension direction A and the ducts 28 extend in a main extension direction B, the general extension direction A of the pipes 20 being parallel to the main extension direction B of the ducts 28. However, the ducts 28, like the pipes 20, can each extend in some other direction without departing from the invention.
[0081] In this configuration, like the pipe 20, the duct 28 has a cylindrical overall shape through which airflow can circulate. The duct 28 likewise has a free edge 42 and, at an end opposite the free edge 42, opens onto and passes through the first wall 26 of the first part 16. More specifically, the duct 28 extends from the first face 36 of the first part 16 in a direction away from the second face 38 and passes through the first wall 26 to open onto the second face 38 of the first wall 26.
[0082] The free edge 42 is likewise provided with a mounting bead 40 so that, for example, the duct 28 can be mounted to the air flow circulation system of the vehicle and / or a driver assistance system.
[0083] As can be seen in more detail in Fig. 3, one of the two parts 16, 18 of the cleaning device 4 comprises at least one separation element 44 separating the distribution network 10 from the ventilation circuit 12, and the other part 16, 18 comprises at least one separation member 46 capable of cooperating with the separation element 44 to separate the distribution network 10 from the ventilation circuit 12 in a fluid-tight manner. It will be understood that the cooperation of the separation element 44 and the separation member 46, respectively arranged in one or the other of the parts 16, 18, makes it possible to define the distribution network 10 and the ventilation circuit 12 while keeping them fluid-tight with each other.
[0084] According to one feature of the invention, the separating element 44 is a rib and the separating member 46 is a groove capable of receiving the rib. The rib forming the separating element 44 is furthermore dimensioned, on the one hand, so as to be received in the groove and, on the other hand, so as to fit closely to the groove that guides it. In other words, the rib and the groove are in contact with each other when one is attached to the other, preventing the exchange of fluid between the distribution network 10 and the ventilation circuit 12, whereby the fluid can originate from the cleaning fluid as well as from the air flow.
[0085] As shown in FIG. 3, the first portion 16 has at least one rib forming a separating element 44, and the second portion 18 has at least one groove forming a separating member 46. More specifically, the first portion 16 has several ribs extending in a "W" shape, i.e., the first portion 16 has a main rib 48 extending in a transverse direction T and three additional ribs extending from the main rib 48 in substantially the same direction, which direction is substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction T and to the longitudinal direction L. A central additional rib 50 and two end additional ribs 52 located on the sides of the central additional rib 50 may be defined. In this configuration, the ribs of the first portion 16 form two spaces, one of the two spaces being defined by one of the end additional ribs 52, the central additional rib 50 and partially the main rib 48, and the other of the two spaces being defined by the other of the end additional ribs 52, the central additional rib 50 and partially the main rib 48.
[0086] The second part 18 itself consists of a covering wall 54 with several grooves on the same face, which extend symmetrically in a "W" shape with respect to the ribs 48, 50, 52 of the first part 16 so that it can cooperate with the first part 16. The second part 18 thus comprises a main groove 56 extending in the transverse direction T and three additional grooves extending from the main groove 56 in substantially the same direction, which direction is substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction T and to the longitudinal direction L. A central additional groove 58 and two end additional grooves 60 located on the sides of the central additional groove 58 may be defined. When the two parts are attached to each other, the grooves 56, 58, 60 of the second part 18 cooperate with the ribs 48, 50, 52 of the first part 16 so that the main rib 48 is received in the main groove 56, the end additional ribs 52 are each received in one of the end additional grooves 60 and the central additional rib 50 is received in the central additional groove 58.
[0087] As can be seen in Figure 3, the second face 38 of the first wall 26 of the first portion 16 comprises a first recess 62 on one side of the space defined by the ribs 48, 50, 52 and a second recess 64 on the other side of the space defined by the ribs 48, 50, 52. The pipes 20 of the distribution network 10 open onto the first recess 62 and the ducts 28 of the ventilation circuit 12 open into the second recess 64.
[0088] When the second part 18 is attached to the first part 16, the face of the covering wall 54 of the second part 18 including the grooves 56, 58, 60 contacts the second face 38 of the first wall 26 of the first part 16. In this configuration, the face of the covering wall 54 including the grooves 56, 58, 60 and the first recess 62 contribute to defining the chamber 22 of the distribution network 10, and the cavity 30 of the vent circuit 12 is itself defined by said face and the second recess 64.
[0089] The first wall 26 of the first part 16 is provided with a spray edge 66 in which the spray outlets 24 and the air outlets 32 are located and towards which the recesses 62, 64 extend from the pipes 20 and / or ducts 28. The covering wall 54 of the second part 18 itself has a spray side 68 which contributes to defining the spray outlets 24 and the air outlets 32.
[0090] The first portion 16 comprises an inclined wall 69 extending at least between the first recess 62 and the spray edge 66. This inclined wall 69 cooperates with an inclined surface 70 of the covering wall 54. The latter comprises a gap 72 arranged at the spray outlet 24, in which the inclined surface 70 is located.
[0091] Furthermore, the covering wall 54 is provided with a conduit 74 formed in the inclined surface 70 and extending in the main direction of extension between the surface containing the grooves 56, 58, 60 and the gap 72. The conduit 74 is open on the inclined surface 70, as shown in Figure 3, but may be closed thereby without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0092] When the two parts 16, 18 of the cleaning device 4 are attached to each other, the inclined wall 69 and the inclined surface 70 extend opposite each other such that the inclined wall 69 closes the conduit 74. Thus, the first recess 62 of the first part 16 communicates with the outside of the cleaning device 4 only via the conduit 74 of the second part 18.
[0093] The gap 72 of the second portion 18 includes a spray wall 76 extending in a plane transverse to the main extension of the conduit 74. The spray wall 76 is disposed at an outlet end 78 of the conduit 74 that opens into the gap 72 and is configured such that cleaning liquid is sprayed against the spray wall 76 to form a flat jet.
[0094] According to one feature of the invention, at least one dimension of the outlet end 78 of the conduit 74 at the spray outlet 24 is an increasing dimension that increases towards the spray outlet 24, said dimension being measured perpendicular to the flow direction C of the cleaning liquid in the conduit 74. It will be understood that the cleaning liquid outlet end 78 opens gradually towards the spray outlet 24. In other words, the dimension measured at the conduit 74 is smaller than the dimension measured at the outlet end 78 of the conduit 74, these two dimensions being advantageously measured in a direction parallel to the transverse direction T.
[0095] 3, the covering wall 54 further comprises a notch 80 which, together with the second recess 64, contributes to defining the cavity 30 of the ventilation circuit 12. The notch 80 extends towards the spray side 68 of the second portion 18 and becomes gradually wider as it approaches the spray side 68. From this it can be seen that the dimension of the notch 80 measured in the lateral direction, i.e. perpendicular to the direction in which the airflow circulates, tends to gradually increase as it approaches the spray side 68.
[0096] Furthermore, the air flow outlet 32 is located near the spray outlet 24. The opening of the cutout 80 is designed to allow a portion of the air flow to circulate towards the spray outlet 24 to wipe or even dry the spray outlet 24 after the cleaning fluid has been sprayed.
[0097] From the above, it can be seen that the cleaning liquid starts by circulating in the pipe 20, in particular from the free end 34 of the pipe 20 towards the first wall 26 of the first part 16. The cleaning liquid then spreads in the chamber 22 formed by the first recess 62 of the first part 16 and the covering wall 54 of the second part 18. When the chamber 22 is filled with cleaning liquid, this liquid flows through the conduit 74 to the spray wall 76. Depending on the flow rate of the cleaning liquid, the cleaning liquid is sprayed with higher or lower pressure against the spray wall 76 and then forms a flat jet capable of cleaning the detection surface of one of the detection devices.
[0098] The air flow itself circulates along the duct 28, in particular from the free edge 42 of the duct 28 to the first wall 26 of the first part 16. It is then guided by the second recess 64 of the first part 16 and the covering wall 54 of the second part 18 through the chamber 22 to the air outlet 32. More specifically, the air flow circulates from the duct 28 through the cavity 30, i.e. through the second recess 64 and the notch 80 to the spray outlet 24. This flow then circulates to the detection surface of one of the detection elements, thereby drying or even cleaning said surface, depending on the flow rate of the air flow.
[0099] Furthermore, as can be seen in more detail in Fig. 2, the cleaning device 4 comprises at least one mounting element for attachment to one of the detection devices, which is comprised in the same part 16, 18 of the cleaning device 4 as the part comprising the pipe 20 and the duct 28, i.e. in this example the first part 16. According to the example shown here, the cleaning device 4 comprises a first mounting element 82 and a second mounting element 84, the first mounting element 82 being an element for centering the cleaning device 4, for example with respect to the detection surface to be cleaned, and the second mounting element 84 making it possible to hold the cleaning device 4 in a fixed position. The mounting elements 82, 84 may also be screws or any other known mounting means making it possible to mount the cleaning device 4 close to the detection device and to hold it in a fixed position. Thus, the cleaning device 4 is held in position in particular by the mounting elements 82, 84, but may also be held in position by connecting the pipe 20 and the duct 28, respectively, to the distribution and circulation systems of the vehicle and / or the driver assistance system.
[0100] 2, the first part 16 comprises a second wall 86 extending from the first face 36 of the first wall 26 in a plane inscribed by the lateral direction T, which plane is substantially perpendicular to the plane in which the first wall 26 of the first part 16 extends. The attachment elements 82, 84 here extend from the second wall 86 in a direction away from the pipe 20 and the duct 28. Furthermore, one of the attachment elements 82, 84 is aligned with the spray outlet 24 in the longitudinal direction L, while the other is arranged at a lateral end of the first part 16.
[0101] According to a second embodiment of the invention, particularly shown in FIG. 4, the attachment elements 82 , 84 are arranged at the lateral ends of the first portion 16 .
[0102] Furthermore, in this second embodiment of the invention, the first portion 16 comprises an additional wall 88 extending in a plane parallel to the plane in which the first wall 26 is inscribed, the additional wall 88 being on the opposite side of the first wall 26 with respect to the second wall 86. In this exemplary embodiment of the invention, it is the additional wall 88 that contributes to at least partially defining the distribution network 10 and the ventilation circuit 12, the additional wall 88 performing the same function as the first wall 26 in the first embodiment.
[0103] A third embodiment of the present invention will now be described with particular reference to FIGS.
[0104] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the overall extension direction A of the pipe 20 and the main extension direction B of the duct 28 are both substantially parallel to a plane in which the first wall 26 of the first part 16 and the covering wall 54 of the second part 18 are inscribed.
[0105] According to one feature of this third embodiment of the invention, the distribution network 10 comprises at least a first cleaning fluid spray outlet 24a, a second cleaning fluid spray outlet 24b and a third cleaning fluid spray outlet 24c, the three spray outlets 24a, 24b, 24c being formed in a manner similar to that described above in the first embodiment.
[0106] To convey the cleaning fluid from the pipe 20 to each of the spray outlets 24a, 24b, 24c, the chamber 22 has an overall shape of a "W". In this configuration, the chamber 22 extends in a direction parallel to the transverse direction T and comprises a main portion 90 into which the pipe 20 opens, and three branches extending from the main portion 90 towards the spray edge 66, these being a central branch 92 and two end branches 94. More specifically, each of the branches 92, 94 extends between the main portion 90 and one of the spray outlets 24a, 24b, 24c.
[0107] Additionally, the separation elements 44 and the separation members 46 are arranged such that the chamber 22 assumes the general shape of a "W." The separation elements 44 and the separation members 46 each assume the general shape of a "U," whereby the first separation element 44a contributes to defining the central portion 90 and the two end branches 94, the second separation element 44b contributes to defining one of the two end branches 94 and the central branch 92, and the third separation element 44c contributes to defining the other end branch 94 and the central branch 92. The separation members 46 are similarly elongated as the separation elements 44.
[0108] Additionally, mounting elements 82, 84 are each disposed in an extension 96 of first wall 26 of first portion 16, with each extension 92 extending in a plane substantially parallel to the plane in which first wall 26 is inscribed.
[0109] A fourth embodiment of the present invention will now be described with particular reference to FIGS.
[0110] The cleaning device 4 comprises a first part 16, a second part 18 and at least a third part, the first part 16 and the third part 98 contributing to at least partially define the cleaning liquid distribution network 10 and the second part 18 and the third part 98 contributing to at least partially define the air circulation circuit 12. It will thus be understood that the second part 18 contributes, on the one hand, in particular by cooperating with the first part 16, to at least partially define the distribution network 10 and, on the other hand, by cooperating with the third part 98, to at least partially define the ventilation circuit 12.
[0111] 8 , the first portion 16 comprises a pipe 20 of the distribution network 10 and, together with the second portion 18, contributes to the definition of a chamber 22 and at least one spray outlet 24. Furthermore, the distribution network 10 comprises two cleaning liquid spray outlets 24, each of which is located at one of the lateral ends of the first wall 26.
[0112] To convey the cleaning liquid from the pipe 20 to each spray outlet 24, the chamber 22 has an overall "U" shape. For that purpose, the chamber 22 extends in a direction parallel to the transverse direction T and comprises a central portion 90 into which the pipe 20 opens, and two end branches 94 extending from the central portion 90 towards the spray edge 66. More specifically, each of the end branches 94 extends between the central portion 90 and one of the cleaning liquid spray outlets 24.
[0113] Additionally, the separation element 44 and the separation member 46 are arranged such that the chamber 22 assumes the general shape of a "U" whereby the first separation element 44a contributes to defining the central portion 90 and the two end branches 94, the second separation element 44b contributes to defining the two end branches 94 and the central portion 90, and the second separation element 44 is located laterally to a side of the first separation element 44. The separation member 46, like the separation element 44, extends over the second portion 18.
[0114] Furthermore, the first portion 16 comprises at least one block 100 arranged in at least one of the end branches 94 of the chamber 22. According to the example shown here in Fig. 8, the first portion 16 comprises two blocks 100, each arranged in one of the end branches 94 of the chamber 22. The two blocks 100 are similar, i.e., unless stated to the contrary, the description of the features of one block 100 is valid for the other block 100. The term "block 100" may refer to one or the other of the blocks 100 without distinction.
[0115] The block 100 has a triangular cross section when viewed in a plane perpendicular to the first wall 26 of the first portion 16 and encompasses the axis of flow of the cleaning liquid in one of the end branches 94. The block 100 thus comprises an inner surface 102 facing the chamber 22, an outer surface 104 facing the spray outlet 24 and an apex 105 at which the inner surface 102 and the outer surface 104 meet. The block 100 comprises a conduit 74 with a first portion 106 extending from the chamber 22 along the outer surface 104 to the apex 105 and a second portion 108 extending in the flow direction C from the apex 105 to the spray wall 76. The conduit 74 is here open, i.e. it generally takes the shape of a notch formed in each of the inner surface 102 and the outer surface 104 of the block 100. However, a closed conduit 74 extending through the block 100 in a similar manner to that described above does not depart from the scope of the invention.
[0116] The first and second portions 106, 108 of the conduit 74 each extend in a direction transverse to the first wall 26 of the first portion 16. Additionally, the second portion 108 of the conduit 74 extends in a direction transverse to the plane in which the atomizing wall 76 extends.
[0117] To complement this, the second part 18 comprises two hollow bodies 110 capable of accommodating the blocks 100, the two hollow bodies 110 being similar. In the remainder of the specification, unless stated to the contrary, the description of the features of one hollow body 110 is also valid for the other hollow body 110. The term "hollow body 110" may refer to one or the other of the hollow bodies 110 without distinction.
[0118] The hollow body 110 has a triangular cross section when viewed in a plane perpendicular to the covering wall 54 of the second part 18 and encompasses the axis of flow of the cleaning liquid in one of the end branches 94. The hollow body 110 therefore has a front face 112 intended to be in contact with the outer face 104 of the block 100, a rear face 114 intended to be in contact with the inner face 102 of the block 100, and two triangular side faces 116 extending substantially parallel to one another between the front face 112, the rear face 114 and the covering wall 54.
[0119] When the second portion 18 is attached to the first portion 16, the rear surface 114 of the hollow body 110 cooperates with the inner surface 102 of the block 100 to close the first portion 106 of the conduit 74, and the front surface 112 of the hollow body 110 itself cooperates with the outer surface 104 of the block 100 to close the second portion 108 of the conduit 74.
[0120] Thus, as the cleaning fluid circulates through distribution network 10, it flows through pipe 20 and then through central portion 90 of chamber 22 toward each end branch 94. The cleaning fluid then circulates through first portion 106 of conduit 74 and then second portion 108 of conduit 74 before being sprayed against spray wall 76 to form a flat jet.
[0121] 8 , the third portion 98 comprises the duct 28 of the ventilation circuit 12 and, together with the second portion 18, contributes to defining the cavity 30 and at least one air outlet 32. Furthermore, the ventilation circuit 12 comprises two air outlets 32, each located near one of the cleaning liquid spray outlets 24.
[0122] In order to guide the air flow towards one or the other of the air outlets 32, the chamber 22 comprises a confluence area 118 into which the duct 28 opens, a first portion 120 extending from the confluence area 118 towards one of the air outlets 32, and a second portion 122 extending from the confluence area 118 towards the other air outlet 32. The first and second portions 120, 122 of the chamber 22 each extend substantially straight, i.e. in the main extension direction.
[0123] Analogous to the manner in which the chamber 22 of the cleaning liquid distribution network 10 is defined, the cavity 30 is defined by a separating element 44 arranged in the second portion 18 and a separating member 46 installed in the third portion 98. More specifically, the separating element 44 here takes the form of a rib and the separating member 46 takes the form of a groove capable of receiving the rib. According to the example shown here in FIG. 8, the second portion 18 comprises a first rib 124 having a first section 126 and a second section 128, each of which extends in a direction transverse to the direction in which the other section 126, 128 extends and which contributes to defining the cavity 30 at the spray edge 66. The second portion 18 similarly includes a second rib 130 having two sections, each of which extends parallel to one or the other of the first section 126 and second section 128 of the first rib 124, with the second rib 130 positioned on the opposite side of the first rib 124 from the spray edge 66.
[0124] The third part 98 itself comprises grooves arranged to cooperate with the ribs of the second part 18, the grooves being disposed on a rectangular wall 132 of the third part 98, the rectangular wall 132 extending in a plane parallel to the plane in which the covering wall 54 of the second part 18 is inscribed. When the third part 98 is attached to the second part 18, the cavity 30 is defined by the ribs forming the separation element 44, the covering wall 54, and the rectangular wall 132 of the third part 98.
[0125] The present invention is not limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated herein, but extends to any equivalent means and configurations, and to any technically operable combination of such means. In particular, the shape and characteristics of the chamber 22 and the cavity 30 can be modified without impairing the invention, as can the number of spray outlets 24 and / or the number of airflow outlets 32, provided that they perform the functions described in this document.
