[0008] <Embodiment 1> The water intake device 1 of the first embodiment is attached to a flat bathtub wall W that extends in the vertical direction, as shown in Figs. 1 to 4. The vertical direction is the vertical direction when the bathtub is installed in the bathroom. The positive direction of the Z axis shown in Figs. 1 to 12 is the upward direction, and the negative direction of the Z axis is the downward direction. The water intake device 1 is connected to the upstream and downstream ends of piping (not shown). A circulation pump is connected to the middle part of the piping. When the circulation pump is driven, the bathtub with this water intake device 1 attached sucks in bath water from the water intake device 1. The sucked bath water returns to the water intake device 1 via the piping and the circulation pump, and is discharged from the water intake device 1 into the bathtub.

[0009] The water intake device 1 includes a water intake device body 5 and a cover 7. As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the water intake device body 5 includes a housing 10, a fixing part 20, a triangular packing 30, a packing 40, a slip washer 50, and a nozzle part 60. Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 are central cross-sectional views of the water intake device 1 attached to a bathtub wall W. The left-right direction is the left-right direction as seen from the front in a state in which the water intake device 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W. The positive direction of the Y axis shown in Fig. 1 to Fig. 12 is the left direction, and the negative direction of the Y axis is the right direction.

[0010] <Housing 10 Structure> As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the housing 10 includes an outer cylinder 110, an inner cylinder 120, an outflow pipe 130, an inflow pipe 140, and an air vent pipe 150. The outer cylinder 110 is cylindrical. When the water suction device body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W, the central axis of the outer cylinder 110 extends horizontally, and the front end portion located on the bathtub wall W side is open. The outer cylinder 110 has a flat annular flange 111 that spreads outward from the outer periphery of the front end portion. The outer cylinder 110 has a female thread portion formed on the inner circumferential surface on the front side. As shown in Fig. 3, when the water suction device body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W, the direction from the housing 10 to the bathtub wall W along the central axis of the outer cylinder 110 is the front, and the opposite direction is the rear. The positive direction of the X-axis shown in Figs. 1 to 12 is the front, and the negative direction of the X-axis is the rear.

[0011] The inner cylinder 120 has a cylindrical shape. As shown in FIG. 3, the outer diameter of the inner cylinder 120 is smaller than the inner diameter of the outer cylinder 110, and the inner cylinder 120 is disposed inside the outer cylinder 110. The central axis of the inner cylinder 120 extends on the central axis of the outer cylinder 110. A part of the water intake passage through which the sucked bath water flows is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 120 and the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 110. The front end of the inner cylinder 120 is open. The opening of the front end of the inner cylinder 120 is located slightly behind the opening of the front end of the outer cylinder 110. The rear end of the inner cylinder 120 extends rearward beyond the rear end of the outer cylinder 110. The area between the rear end of the outer cylinder 110 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 120 is closed except for the lower part when the water intake device main body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W.

[0012] The outflow pipe 130 is cylindrical as shown in Figs. 1 and 3. Outflow ports are formed at both ends of the outflow pipe 130. The middle part of the outflow pipe 130 is connected to the lower corner of the rear end of the outer cylinder 110 and the lower part of the rear end side of the inner cylinder 120 exposed from the outer cylinder 110. The central axis of the outer cylinder 110 and the central axis of the outflow pipe 130 are in a twisted position and are perpendicular to each other in a plan view seen from above in a state in which the water intake device main body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W. The outflow pipe 130 communicates with a water intake passage formed between the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 110 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 120 through an opening formed between the rear end of the outer cylinder 110 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 120. The outflow pipe 130 forms a part of the water intake passage. One of the ends of the outlet pipe section 130 where the outlet port is formed is connected to the upstream end of a pipe connected to the upstream side of a circulation pump (not shown). A cover member (not shown) is attached to the other end of the outlet pipe section 130 to close the outlet port.

[0013] As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the inflow pipe 140 has a cylindrical shape with the central axis bent at a right angle in the middle. The upstream pipe 141 upstream of the bent portion 140A of the inflow pipe 140 extends vertically when the water suction device body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W. The upstream end of the inflow pipe 140 has an inlet. The downstream pipe 142 downstream of the bent portion 140A of the inflow pipe 140 extends horizontally when the water suction device body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W. The downstream end of the inflow pipe 140 is connected to the rear end of the inner tube 120. The inflow pipe 140 communicates with the space inside the inner tube 120. The upstream end of the inflow pipe 140, where the inflow port is formed, is connected to the downstream end of a pipe connected to the downstream side of a circulation pump (not shown). The space inside the inlet pipe portion 140 and the inner cylinder portion 120 forms a part of the discharge passage.

[0014] As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, when the water intake device main body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W, the ventilation pipe 150 extends vertically upward from the outer peripheral surface of the rear end side of the outer tube 110 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube 120 protruding from the outer tube 110 on the outer tube 110 side. The ventilation pipe 150 communicates with the space inside the inner tube 120 forming a part of the water discharge passage. A connecting part 151 for connecting an air tube (not shown) is attached to the upper end of the ventilation pipe 150. When the cover member 151A is stored in the connecting part 151, the ventilation pipe 150 cannot suck in air when bath water is discharged from the water intake device 1, but when the cover member 151A is removed from the connecting part 151, the ventilation pipe 150 can suck in air when bath water is discharged from the water intake device 1, and mix air into the bath water being discharged.

[0015] <Structure of fixing part 20> As shown in Fig. 3, the fixing portion 20 includes a tubular portion 210, a flange portion 220, and four protruding pieces 230. The tubular portion 210 has a cylindrical shape. Both ends of the tubular portion 210 are open. A male thread portion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the rear end side of the tubular portion 210. The male thread portion formed on the outer peripheral surface of the tubular portion 210 can be screwed into a female thread portion formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer tubular portion 110 of the housing 10.

[0016] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the flange portion 220 extends outward from the outer peripheral edge of the front end of the tubular portion 210. The flange portion 220 has a flange main body 221 and an edge portion 223 extending outward from the outer peripheral edge of the flange main body 221. The flange main body 221 is a flat circular plate extending outward perpendicular to the outer peripheral surface of the tubular portion 210. The edge portion 223 is circular. When the water suction device main body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W, the edge portion 223 is inclined forward in the outward direction away from the central axis of the tubular portion 210.

[0017] Each protrusion 230 protrudes forward from the center between the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge of the flange main body 221. Each protrusion 230 curves and extends on the same circumference centered on the central axis of the tubular portion 210 on the front surface of the flange main body 221, and is disposed at equal intervals on the same circumference. Each protrusion 230 extends from the rear end to the middle part in the front-rear direction in a direction perpendicular to the front surface of the flange main body 221, and is inclined outward toward the front from the middle part in the front-rear direction to the front end.

[0018] <Structure of triangular packing 30> The triangular packing 30 is annular as shown in FIG. 3. The rear surface of the triangular packing 30 extends outwardly from the rear end periphery of the inner periphery perpendicular to the inner periphery. The rear end edge of the outer periphery of the triangular packing 30 is connected to the outer periphery of the rear surface, and the front end edge is connected to the front end periphery of the inner periphery, and the outer diameter is gradually reduced from the rear end to the front end. The inner diameter of the triangular packing 30 is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the tubular portion 210 of the fixed portion 20. The outer diameter of the rear surface of the triangular packing 30 is smaller than the outer diameter of the flange portion 111 of the outer tubular portion 110 of the housing 10.

[0019] <Structure of Packing 40> 2 to 5, the packing 40 includes a packing body 410 and eight protrusions 420. The packing body 410 is a flat circular plate. The inner diameter of the packing body 410 is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the tubular portion 210 of the fixed part 20. The outer diameter of the packing body 410 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the flange body 221 of the fixed part 20.

[0020] Each of the protrusions 420 is continuous with the outer peripheral surface of the packing body 410. Each of the protrusions 420 is disposed at equal intervals along the outer peripheral edge of the packing body 410. The front shape of each of the protrusions 420 when the packing 40 is viewed from the front along the central axis of the packing body 410 is substantially rectangular as shown in FIG. 5. In the front shape, each of the protrusions 420 has a distance between two sides extending parallel to the outer peripheral edge of the packing body 410 that is continuous with the outer peripheral edge of the packing body 410, which is about 3% of the length of the outer peripheral edge of the packing body 410. The outer side of each of the protrusions 420 that extends away from the outer peripheral edge of the packing body 410 is located slightly inside the outer peripheral edge of the cover 7 when the cover 7 described later is attached to the water suction device body 5, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.

[0021] The thickness of each protrusion 420 is about 1 / 2 the thickness of the packing body 410, as shown in Figures 2 to 4. The rear surface of each protrusion 420 extends on the same plane as the rear surface of the packing body 410. Each protrusion 420 has a substantially hemispherical protrusion 421 formed protruding from the front surface, as shown in Figures 2 to 5. A part of the outer periphery of each protrusion 421 is in contact with one outer side of each protrusion 420. The height of each protrusion 421 is about 1 / 6 the thickness of each protrusion 420.

[0022] <Structure of slip washer 50> The slip washer 50 is annular. The inner diameter of the slip washer 50 is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the packing body 410, as shown in FIG. 4. The outer diameter of the slip washer 50 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the packing body 410.

[0023] <Attachment of the housing 10 and the fixing part 20 to the bathtub wall W> The housing 10 and the fixed part 20 are attached to the bathtub wall W by an operator, as described below. First, the operator fits the slip washer 50 and the packing 40 into the tubular part 210 of the fixed part 20. At this time, the slip washer 50 is sandwiched between the front surface of the packing main body 410 and the rear surface of the flange main body 221 of the fixed part 20, as shown in FIG. 4. Next, the operator inserts the tubular part 210 of the fixed part 20 from inside the bathtub into the mounting hole H formed in the bathtub wall W, as shown in FIG. 3. As a result, the tubular part 210 protrudes rearward from the mounting hole H formed in the bathtub wall W. The packing 40 and the slip washer 50 are positioned forward of the bathtub wall W. Next, the operator fits the triangular packing 30 into the tubular part 210. At this time, the inner peripheral surface of the triangular packing 30 contacts the outer peripheral surface of the tubular part 210 of the fixed part 20, and the rear surface faces rearward. The triangular gasket 30 is positioned behind the bathtub wall W. Next, the worker places the housing 10 on the outside of the bathtub wall W so that the vent pipe portion 150 of the housing 10 extends vertically upward from the outer circumferential surfaces of the outer tube portion 110 and the inner tube portion 120, and screws the male thread portion formed on the outer circumferential surface of the tube portion 210 into the female thread portion formed on the inner circumferential surface of the outer tube portion 110. In this manner, the housing 10 and the fixing portion 20 are attached to the bathtub wall W.

[0024] When the housing 10 and the fixed part 20 are attached to the bathtub wall W, as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the rear surface of the packing body 410 and each protrusion 420 contacts the bathtub wall W. The packing body 410 is sandwiched between the bathtub wall W and the flange body 221 of the fixed part 20 with the slip washer 50 in contact with the front surface, preventing water leakage from the mounting hole H formed in the bathtub wall W. When the housing 10 and the fixed part 20 are attached to the bathtub wall W, the rear surface of the triangular packing 30 contacts the front surface of the flange portion 111 of the outer tube portion 110 of the housing 10. The front end of the triangular packing 30 enters between the mounting hole H formed in the bathtub wall W and the tube portion 210 of the fixed part 20. As a result, water leakage from between the outer tube portion 110 of the housing 10 and the tube portion 210 of the fixed part 20 is prevented.

[0025] <Structure of nozzle portion 60> As shown in Figs. 2 to 4, the nozzle section 60 includes a pipe section 610 and a head section 650. The pipe section 610 includes a flange section 620, a front pipe section 630, and a rear pipe section 640. The flange section 620 includes an outer periphery section 621 and a front section 622. The outer periphery section 621 is cylindrical. A plurality of inlets 623 penetrate the outer periphery section 621. The openings of the inlets 623 are rectangular. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the inner periphery section 621 has four protrusions 625 extending along the rear end edge of the outer periphery section 621 and protruding inward. The protrusions 625 are provided at equal intervals on the same circumference of the inner periphery section 621. When the nozzle portion 60 is attached to the fixed portion 20, each protrusion 625 is located rearward of the outer circumferential edge of the front end of each protrusion 230 of the fixed portion 20, and protrudes inward from the outer circumferential edge of the front end of each protrusion 230. The front portion 622 is a flat ring-shaped plate extending inward from the peripheral edge of the front end of the outer circumferential portion 621.

[0026] As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the front tube 630 extends rearward from the inner periphery of the front surface 622 of the flange 620. The front tube 630 houses the head 650, which will be described later, inside. The front tube 630 has a fixed tube 631, a first reduced diameter portion 632, and an intermediate tube 633. The fixed tube 631 is continuous with the inner periphery of the front surface 622 of the flange 620, and a female thread is formed on the inner periphery. A groove 631A is formed in the fixed tube 631. The groove 631A opens forward, rearward of the inner periphery on which the female thread is formed. An O-ring 634 is fitted in the groove 631A. The first reduced diameter portion 632 is continuous with the rear end peripheral edge of the fixed tube 631, and extends rearward while reducing in diameter. The intermediate pipe portion 633 has a cylindrical shape that is continuous with the peripheral edge of the rear end of the first reduced diameter portion 632 and extends rearward.

[0027] The rear pipe section 640 has a second reduced diameter section 641 and an insertion pipe section 642. The second reduced diameter section 641 is continuous with the rear end periphery of the intermediate pipe section 633 of the front pipe section 630, and extends rearward while reducing in diameter. The insertion pipe section 642 is cylindrical. The insertion pipe section 642 is cylindrical and continues with the rear end periphery of the second reduced diameter section 641, and extends rearward. The insertion pipe section 642 is inserted into the inner pipe section 120 from an opening at the front end of the inner pipe section 120 of the housing 10. The insertion pipe section 642 has a groove section 642A formed on the same circumference on the outer circumferential surface at the rear end, and an O-ring 643 is fitted into the groove section 642A.

[0028] As shown in Figs. 2 to 4, the front surface 650A of the head portion 650 is exposed forward from the central opening of the front surface portion 622 of the nozzle portion 60. The front surface 650A has a circular outer shape. The outer diameter of the front surface 650A is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the fixing member 635 that fixes the head portion 650 to the fixing tube portion 631. The fixing member 635 is annular. A male thread portion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the fixing member 635. The male thread portion formed on the outer peripheral surface of the fixing member 635 can be screwed into the female thread portion formed on the inner peripheral surface of the fixing tube portion 631. The head portion 650 forms a flange portion 651 that spreads outward from the outer peripheral surface behind the front surface 650A.

[0029] As shown in Figs. 1 to 4, the head portion 650 has a pair of knob pieces 652 that protrude from the front surface 650A and extend in parallel. In a front view from the front side, each knob piece 652 extends at equal intervals on both sides from an imaginary line passing through the center of the front surface 650A. The front end edge of each knob piece 652 has a curved shape that bulges forward toward the center in the direction in which the knob pieces 652 extend. An operator can pinch the pair of knob pieces 652 and rotate the head portion 650 around the central axis of the front tube portion 630 relative to the front tube portion 630. The head portion 650 has one discharge port 653. The discharge port 653 is located at the center of the front surface 650A and between the knob pieces 652. The head portion 650 has two inlets 654. The two inlets 654 open toward the rear. The head portion 650 has a hollow interior, and one discharge port 653 and two inlets 654 communicate with each other via the internal cavity.

[0030] An operator inserts the nozzle portion 60 into the front pipe portion 630 from the front end opening of the front pipe portion 630, and screws the fixing member 635 into the female thread of the fixed pipe portion 631 of the front pipe portion 630, so that the fixing member 635 presses the flange portion 651 backward. As a result, the head portion 650 is fixed to the pipe portion 610. When the head portion 650 is fixed to the pipe portion 610, it crushes the O-ring 634 via the slip washer 660. The O-ring 634 connects the pipe portion 610 and the head portion 650 in a watertight manner, and prevents bath water from flowing out into the bathtub from between the pipe portion 610 and the head portion 650. The internal cavity of the head portion 650 communicates with the front pipe portion 630 and the rear pipe portion 640, and forms a part of the water discharge passage.

[0031] <Attachment of nozzle portion 60 to fixed portion 20> The nozzle portion 60 is detachably attached to the fixed portion 20 by an operator, as described below. The operator moves the nozzle portion 60 rearward while inserting the insertion tube portion 642 of the rear tube portion 640 of the nozzle portion 60 into the inner tube portion 120 from the front end opening of the inner tube portion 120 of the housing 10 attached to the bathtub wall W.

[0032] Each protrusion 625 comes into contact with the front end of each projection 230, and while elastically deforming the outer circumferential portion 621 of the flange 620 of the nozzle part 60 and each projection 230, moves rearward from the outer circumferential edge of the front end of each projection 230, and comes into a state where it protrudes inward from the outer circumferential edge of the front end of each projection 230. When the rear end face of the outer circumferential portion 621 of the flange 620 comes into contact with the front face of the flange body 221 of the flange part 220 of the fixed part 20, the nozzle part 60 can no longer move rearward. This completes the attachment of the nozzle part 60 to the fixed part 20.

[0033] When an operator attempts to remove nozzle part 60 by moving it forward from a state in which nozzle part 60 is attached to fixed part 20, each protrusion 625 gets caught on the front end of each protruding piece 230. When the operator elastically deforms outer circumferential part 621 and each protruding piece 230, and moves nozzle part 60 forward with a force sufficient to cause each protrusion 625 to overcome the front end of each protruding piece 230 or more, nozzle part 60 can be removed from fixed part 20.

[0034] When the nozzle portion 60 is attached to the fixed portion 20, the outer peripheral surface of the insertion tube portion 642 and the inner peripheral surface of the inner tube portion 120 are connected in a watertight manner by the O-ring 643 fitted in the groove portion 642A at the rear end of the insertion tube portion 642. The front tube portion 630 and the rear tube portion 640 of the nozzle portion 60 communicate with the space inside the inner tube portion 120 of the housing 10 and form a part of the water discharge passage. The tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 communicate with the water intake passage formed between the inner peripheral surface of the outer tube portion 110 of the housing 10 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube portion 120. The tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 form a part of the water intake passage. The state in which the nozzle portion 60 is attached to the housing 10 and the fixed portion 20 attached to the bathtub wall W is the state in which the water intake device main body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W, as shown in FIG. 2.

[0035] <Cover 7 Structure> As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the cover 7 has a cover body 70 and an exterior part 80. The cover body 70 has a peripheral wall part 710 and a front wall part 720. The peripheral wall part 710 is cylindrical. The peripheral wall part 710 has six rectangular openings 710A that are long in the peripheral direction and are formed in a line in the peripheral direction. The peripheral wall part 710 has a first region in which the six openings 710A are lined up in the peripheral direction, and a second region in which the openings 710A are not formed. The peripheral wall part 710 forms the second region continuously from both ends of the first region. In a front view from the front in a state in which the cover 7 is attached to the water suction device main body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W, the angle at which two straight lines connecting both ends of the second region and the central axis of the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover body 70 intersect is about 120 degrees. A mesh 711 is stretched on the inner peripheral surface side of the peripheral wall part 710 of each opening 710A.

[0036] The inner diameter of the peripheral wall portion 710 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the flange portion 220 of the fixing portion 20 of the water suction device main body 5. Three protrusions 730 protrude inward from the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 710. Each protrusion 730 is provided at equal intervals on the same circumference of the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 710. When the cover 7 is attached to the water suction device main body 5, each protrusion 730 is located rearward of the outer peripheral edge of the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220 of the fixing portion 20 and protrudes inward from the outer peripheral edge of the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220. The peripheral wall portion 710 has a rear end edge portion 713 protruding outward from the rear end peripheral edge. The outer peripheral edge of the rear end edge portion 713 is located slightly outside one of the outer sides of each protrusion 420 of the packing 40 when the cover 7 is attached to the water suction device main body 5.

[0037] The front wall portion 720 is annular and extends inward from the front end periphery of the peripheral wall portion 710. The front surface of the front wall portion 720 protrudes furthest forward from the outer periphery to the middle portion of the inner periphery. The front surface of the front wall portion 720 is an inclined surface that slopes forward from the outer periphery to the middle portion, and slopes rearward from the middle portion to the inner periphery. The rear surface of the front wall portion 720 is a plane that is perpendicular to the inner periphery of the peripheral wall portion 710. The inner diameter of the front wall portion 720 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the front surface of the head portion 650 of the nozzle portion 60.

[0038] The exterior part 80 is a thin plate, and has a side part 810 and a front part 820. The side part 810 has six rectangular openings 810A formed therein. Each opening 810A is formed at a position corresponding to the six openings 710A formed in the cover body 70 when the exterior part 80 is fixed to the cover body 70. Each opening 810A has a similar shape, but is slightly larger than each corresponding opening 710A formed in the cover body 70. The side part 810 has a linear slit 810B extending along the central axis of the side part 810 formed in the circumferential center of a portion corresponding to the second region of the peripheral wall part 710 when the exterior part 80 is fixed to the cover body 70. The front part 820 is continuous with the front end peripheral edge of the side part 810. The rear surface of the front part 820 is formed so as to contact the front surface of the front wall part 720 of the cover body 70 when the exterior part 80 is fixed to the cover body 70.

[0039] The exterior part 80 is fixed to the cover body 70 by overlapping six openings 810A formed in the side surface part 810 with six openings 710A formed in the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover body 70. The cover 7 has six water intake ports 7A formed by overlapping six openings 710A formed in the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover body 70 and six openings 810A formed in the side surface part 810 of the exterior part 80. In a state in which the exterior part 80 is fixed to the cover body 70, the side surface part 810 of the exterior part 80 is disposed along the outer circumferential surface forward of the rear end edge part 713 protruding outward from the rear end edge of the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover body 70, and the front surface part 820 of the exterior part 80 is fixed in contact with the front surface of the front wall part 720 of the cover body 70.

[0040] <Attachment of cover 7 to water suction device body 5> As described below, the cover 7 is detachably attached by an operator to the water suction device body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W. As shown in Fig. 2, the operator moves the cover 7 backward so as to cover the nozzle part 60 arranged in front of the bathtub wall W of the water suction device body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W. At this time, the operator positions the slit 810B formed in the exterior part 80 of the cover 7 at the upper end position.

[0041] Each protrusion 730 contacts the front end of the edge 223, elastically deforming the peripheral wall 710 and the side surface 810, and moves rearward from the outer periphery of the edge 223. As a result, each protrusion 730 protrudes inward from the outer periphery of the edge 223 of the flange 220. When the rear end surface of the peripheral wall 710 of the cover body 70 contacts at least one of the front surface of each convex portion 420 of the packing 40 and each protrusion 421, the cover 7 cannot move rearward. As a result, the attachment of the cover 7 to the water suction device body 5 is completed. As shown in FIG. 4, each convex portion 420 is sandwiched between the bathtub wall W and the peripheral wall 710, and constitutes a closing portion that closes the second water suction passage F2, which will be described later, formed by the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7. Each convex portion 420 is provided between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7.

[0042] When an operator attempts to move the cover 7 forward to remove it from the water suction device body 5 after the cover 7 is attached thereto, each of the protrusions 730 protruding inward from the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 gets caught on the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220. The operator can remove the cover 7 from the water suction device body 5 by elastically deforming the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70 and the side portion 810 of the exterior portion 80 and moving the cover 7 forward with a force sufficient to cause each of the protrusions 730 to overcome the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220.

[0043] <About the intake channel> With the cover 7 attached to the water suction device body 5, as shown in Fig. 4, a first water suction passage F1, a second water suction passage F2, and a third water suction passage F3 are formed to suck in bath water stored in the bathtub. The first water suction passage F1 is connected from six water suction ports 7A formed in the cover 7 to a water suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via a plurality of inlets 623 formed in the outer periphery 621 of the flange portion 620 of the nozzle portion 60. The water suction device 1 can suck bath water into the water suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the first water suction passage F1.

[0044] The second water intake passage F2 is connected from the gap between the rear end face of the peripheral wall portion 710 and the bathtub wall W, through the gap between the peripheral wall portion 710 and the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220, and through multiple inlets 623, to the water intake passage formed between the tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20. The gap between the rear end face of the peripheral wall portion 710 and the bathtub wall W is partially closed by each of the protrusions 420. The second water intake passage F2 is partially closed by each of the protrusions 420 of the packing 40 sandwiched between the bathtub wall W and the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70. Each of the protrusions 420 of the packing 40 is a closing portion that partially closes the second water intake passage F2. The water intake device 1 can suck bath water into the water intake passage formed between the tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the second water intake passage F2.

[0045] The third suction passage F3 is connected from between the inner peripheral edge of the front wall portion 720 of the cover body 70 and the outer peripheral edge of the front surface 650A of the nozzle, through the gap between the rear surface of the cover body 70 and the front surface 622 of the flange portion 620 of the nozzle portion 60, and through a plurality of inlets 623 formed in the outer peripheral portion 621 of the flange portion 620 of the nozzle portion 60, to the suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20. The water suction device 1 can suck bath water into the suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the third suction passage F3.

[0046] <About the bathtub water intake and discharge by the water intake device 1> When the circulation pump is driven, bath water passes through the first suction passage F1, the second suction passage F2, and the third suction passage F3, and flows between the pipe section 610 of the nozzle section 60 and the fixed section 20, between the outer circumferential surface of the inner cylinder section 120 of the housing 10 and the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder section 110, and through the suction passage formed by the outflow pipe section 130. After flowing through the suction passage, the bath water passes through the piping and the circulation pump, and flows through the discharge passage formed by the inflow pipe section 140, the space inside the inner cylinder section 120 of the housing 10, the pipe section 610 of the nozzle section 60, and the internal cavity of the head section 650, and is discharged from the head section 650 into the bathtub.

[0047] <Embodiment 2> 6 to 8, the water suction device 2 of the second embodiment differs from the water suction device 1 of the first embodiment in that the closing portion is not provided in the packing 40 but in the cover 7X. The same components as those of the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals and detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0048] <Cover 7X Structure> The cover body 70X of the second embodiment has eight protrusions 740 extending rearward from the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X. The eight protrusions 740 are provided at equal intervals along the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 710X of the cover body 70X. The outer surface and inner surface of each protrusion 740 are substantially rectangular in shape elongated in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 710X. The width of each protrusion 740 along the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 710X of the cover body 70X is about 2.5% of the circumferential length of the peripheral wall portion 710X of the cover body 70X. The inner surface of each protrusion 740 extends on the same plane as the inner circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X. The outer surface of each protrusion 740 is slightly inside the outer circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X and extends parallel to the outer circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X. The height of each of the projections 740 protruding from the rear end face of the peripheral wall portion 710X is approximately half the thickness of the packing 40X.

[0049] <Structure of Packing 40X> The packing 40X is in the shape of a flat circular plate. The inner diameter of the packing 40X is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion 210 of the fixed portion 20. The outer diameter of the packing 40X is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the flange main body 221 of the fixed portion 20.

[0050] <Attaching the cover 7X to the water suction device main body 5> As shown in FIG. 7, the worker moves the cover 7X backward so as to cover the nozzle portion 60 arranged in front of the bathtub wall W of the water suction device body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W. As shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 8, when the rear end surface of each convex portion 740 of the peripheral wall portion 710X of the cover body 70X contacts the bathtub wall W, the cover 7X cannot be moved backward. As a result, the attachment of the cover 7X to the water suction device body 5 is completed. Each convex portion 740 of the peripheral wall portion 710X of the cover body 70X constitutes a closing portion that partially closes the second water suction passage F2 formed by the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7X. Each convex portion 740 is provided between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7X.

[0051] <About the intake channel> With the cover 7X attached to the water intake device body 5, a first water intake channel F1, a second water intake channel F2, and a third water intake channel F3 are formed to suck in bath water stored in the bathtub, as shown in Fig. 8. Fig. 8 is a central cross-sectional view of the left and right sides of the water intake device 2 attached to the bathtub wall W.

[0052] The second water intake passage F2 is connected from the gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X and the bathtub wall W, through the gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X and the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220, and through a plurality of inlets 623, to the water intake passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20. The gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710X and the bathtub wall W is partially closed by each of the protrusions 740. The second water intake passage F2 is partially closed by each of the protrusions 740 of the cover body 70X. Each of the protrusions 740 of the cover body 70X is a closing portion that partially closes the second water intake passage F2. The water intake device 2 can suck bath water into the water intake passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the second water intake passage F2.

[0053] <Embodiment 3> The water intake device 3 of the third embodiment differs from the water intake devices 1 and 2 of the first and second embodiments in that the closing part is not provided on the packing 40X or the cover 7, but on a slip washer 50X sandwiched between the front surface of the packing 40X and the rear surface of the flange body 221 of the fixing part 20, as shown in Figures 9 and 10. The same components as those of the first and second embodiments are given the same reference numerals and detailed explanations are omitted. Figure 10 is a cross-sectional view seen forward from a cut surface cut along the rear surface of the packing 40X of the water intake device 3 attached to the bathtub wall W.

[0054] <Structure of Slip Washer 50X> The slip washer 50X of the third embodiment is annular. The inner diameter of the slip washer 50X is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the packing 40X. The outer diameter of the slip washer 50X is approximately equal to the inner diameter of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70, as shown in FIG. 10. The slip washer 50X has eight slit-shaped openings 510 extending on the same circumference and smaller than the outer diameter. The openings 510 are formed at equal intervals on the same circumference. The openings 510 have the same circumferential length. The slip washer 50X has connecting portions 520 formed between the openings 510 adjacent to each other on the same circumference. The connecting portions 520 are formed at eight locations on the same circumference of the slip washer 50. The connecting portions 520 are spaced apart at equal intervals on the same circumference of the slip washer 50X. The circumferential length of each link 520 is approximately 30% of the circumferential length of each opening 510 .

[0055] <Attachment of cover 7 to water suction device body 5> The worker moves the cover 7 backward so as to cover the nozzle part 60 arranged in front of the bathtub wall W of the water suction device main body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W. When the rear surface of the front wall part 720 of the cover main body 70 contacts the front surface of the flange part 620 of the nozzle part 60, the cover 7 cannot be moved backward. As a result, the attachment of the cover 7 to the water suction device main body 5 is completed. The outer peripheral edge of the slip washer 50X contacts the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover main body 70. Each opening 510 of the slip washer 50X is inside the peripheral wall part 710 of the cover main body 70, and bath water passes through the opening 510 on the rear side of the flange part 220 of the fixing part 20. Each connecting part 520 of the slip washer 50X constitutes a closing part that partially closes the second water suction passage F2. Each connecting part 520 is provided between the water suction device main body 5 and the cover 7.

[0056] <About the intake channel> When the cover 7 is attached to the water suction device body 5, a first water suction passage F1, a second water suction passage F2, and a third water suction passage F3 are formed to suck in bath water stored in the bathtub.

[0057] The second water intake passage F2 is connected from the gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 and the bathtub wall W through each opening 510 of the slip washer 50X, between the peripheral wall portion 710 and the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220, and through multiple inlets 623 to the water intake passage formed between the tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20. The second water intake passage F2 is partially closed by each connecting portion 520 of the slip washer 50X. Each connecting portion 520 of the slip washer 50X is a closing portion that partially closes the second water intake passage F2. The water intake device 3 can suck bath water into the water intake passage formed between the tube portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the second water intake passage F2.

[0058] <Embodiment 4> The water intake device 4 of the fourth embodiment differs from the water intake devices 1, 2, and 3 of the first to third embodiments in that the closing portion is not provided on the packing 40X, the cover 7, and the slip washer 50, but on the fixing portion 20X of the water intake device body 5, as shown in Figures 11 and 12. The same components as those of the first to third embodiments are given the same reference numerals and detailed explanations are omitted. Figure 12 is a cross-sectional view of the water intake device 4 attached to the bathtub wall W, seen from the cut surface cut along the rear surface of the packing 40X.

[0059] <Structure of the fixing part 20> The flange portion 220 of the fixing portion 20X of the fourth embodiment has eight protrusions 240 extending outward from the edge portion 223. The eight protrusions 240 are provided at equal intervals along the outer circumferential edge of the flange portion 220X. The front and rear surfaces of each protrusion 240 are substantially rectangular and elongated in the circumferential direction of the flange portion 220X. The width of each protrusion 240 along the circumferential direction of the flange portion 220X is approximately 2.3% of the outer periphery of the flange portion 220X. The outer surface of each protrusion 240 is parallel to the outer periphery of the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220X.

[0060] <Attachment of cover 7 to water suction device body 5> The worker moves the cover 7 backward so as to cover the nozzle portion 60 arranged forward of the bathtub wall W of the water suction device body 5 attached to the bathtub wall W. When the rear surface of the front wall portion 720 of the cover body 70 contacts the front surface of the flange portion 620 of the nozzle portion 60, the cover 7 cannot be moved backward. As a result, the attachment of the cover 7 to the water suction device body 5 is completed. The outer surface of each protrusion 240 contacts the inner surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70. Each protrusion 240 constitutes a closing portion that partially closes the second water suction passage F2 on the inner side of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70. Each protrusion 240 is provided between the water suction device body 5 and the cover 7.

[0061] <About the intake channel> When the cover 7 is attached to the water suction device body 5, a first water suction passage F1, a second water suction passage F2, and a third water suction passage F3 are formed to suck in bath water stored in the bathtub.

[0062] The second suction passage F2 is connected from the gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 and the bathtub wall W, through the gaps between the convex portions 240 of the flange portion 220 and through the multiple inlets 623, to the suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20. The second suction passage F2 is partially closed by the convex portions 240 of the flange portion 220X. The convex portions 240 of the flange portion 220X are closing portions that partially close the second suction passage F2. The water suction device 4 can suck bath water into the suction passage formed between the pipe portion 610 of the nozzle portion 60 and the fixed portion 20 via the second suction passage F2.

[0063] As described above, the water intake devices 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the first to fourth embodiments are attached to the bathtub wall W with a gap formed between them, form a second intake passage F2 that draws in bath water stored in the bathtub through the gap between them and the bathtub wall W, and are provided with a closing portion that partially closes the second intake passage F2. Because the water intake devices 1, 2, 3, and 4 are provided with a closing portion that partially closes the second intake passage F2 that draws in bath water through the gap between them and the bathtub wall W, it is possible to prevent long foreign objects such as hair from getting entangled in the gap between them and the bathtub wall W. Therefore, the water intake devices 1, 2, 3, and 4 can prevent a decrease in water intake performance.

[0064] The water intake device 1, 2, 3, 4 of the first to fourth embodiments includes a water intake device body 5 and a cover 7, 7X. The water intake device body 5 is attached to the bathtub wall W. The cover 7, 7X is attached to the water intake device body 5 detachably, forming a gap between the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70 and the bathtub wall W. The second water intake passage F2 is formed by the gap between the bathtub wall W and the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70, and the gap between the edge portion 223 of the flange portion 220 and the peripheral wall portion 710. Since the covers 7, 7X of the water intake devices 1, 2, 3, 4 are detachable, even if long foreign objects such as hair are attached to the gap between the bathtub wall W and the covers 7, 7X, the covers 7, 7X can be removed from the water intake device body 5 to easily remove the long foreign objects such as hair.

[0065] In the water intake devices 1 and 2 of the first and second embodiments, the closing portion is provided between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7. The water intake devices 1 and 2 can prevent long foreign objects such as hair from getting entangled in the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7 by the closing portion that partially closes the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7.

[0066] In the water suction device 1 of the first embodiment, the water suction device body 5 has a packing 40 that is sandwiched between the bathtub wall W and the packing 40 and has eight protrusions 420 extending outward from eight points on the outer periphery, and the closing part is the protrusion 420 that is sandwiched between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7. In this water suction device 1, the closing part can be easily attached, and the closing part can prevent long foreign objects such as hair from getting entangled in the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7.

[0067] In the water suction device 1 of the first embodiment, the convex portion 420 of the packing 40 has a protrusion 421 formed on the surface that contacts the cover 7. Even if the bathtub wall W, which the rear surface of the packing body and the rear surface of the convex portion 420 contact, is curved, this water suction device 1 can make at least one of the front surface of each convex portion 420 of the packing 40 and the protrusion 421 contact the rear end surface of the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70. Therefore, this water suction device 1 can reliably sandwich the closing portion between the bathtub wall W and the peripheral wall portion 710 of the cover body 70, and can prevent long foreign objects such as hair from getting entangled in the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7.

[0068] In the water intake devices 3, 4 of the third and fourth embodiments, the closing portion is provided between the water intake device main body 5 and the cover 7. The water intake devices 3, 4 partially close the second water intake passage F2 formed between the water intake device main body 5 and the cover 7, thereby reducing the flow rate of bath water absorbed through the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7, and preventing long foreign objects such as hair from becoming entangled in the gap between the bathtub wall W and the cover 7.
