Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a connector used for connecting to an electronic device or the like, and to a connector capable of achieving stable electrical connection with the electronic device or the like. [Background technology]
[0002] In connectors used to connect to electronic devices, such as connectors used to connect to imaging devices, it is extremely important to stabilize the electrical connection between the imaging device and the connector in order to stably transmit and receive imaging signals (electrical signals) generated by the imaging device.
[0003] As a connector used for connecting to such electronic devices, an external connector 13 that is provided on the housing 5 of the imaging device 1 and electrically connected to the imaging device 1 is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0004] The external connector 13 includes a shield member 16 as a conductor and a cylindrical contact piece 22 that slides on the shield member 16 due to the biasing force of a coil spring 23. The cylindrical contact piece 22 also includes a sliding contact 22a and an annular contact 22b.
[0005] The sliding contact 22a is electrically connected to the shield member 16 and is locked to a retaining locking portion 16c of the shield member 16. In addition, the annular contact 22a is in conductive contact with the board 10 in the imaging device 1. In this manner, the imaging device 1 and the external connector 13 are electrically connected to each other. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0006] [Patent Document 1] JP 2018-107097 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0007] However, the sliding contact 22a of the external connector 13 is always subjected to a certain load due to the biasing force of the coil spring 23. In addition, since the life cycle of the imaging device 1 is often long, the external connector 13 in the imaging device 1 is also often used for a long period of time. As a result, there is a concern that the sliding contact 22a of the external connector 13 will be deformed due to aging. If the sliding contact 22a is deformed, there is a risk that the electrical connection between the imaging device 1 and the external connector 13 via the cylindrical contact piece 22 will become unstable.
[0008] The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a connector that can be stably electrically connected to electronic devices and the like. [Means for solving the problem]
[0009] In order to achieve the above object, the connector according to the present invention comprises a shell body made of a conductive material, a central contact arranged along the central axis of the shell body and having a tip portion which comes into contact with a contact portion of a mating electronic device, an insulating member interposed between the shell body and the central contact and which holds the central contact, a movable shell which is movable along the axial direction of the central axis, slides and comes into contact with the shell body, and fits into a fitting portion of the mating electronic device, and a movable shell having one end fixed to the shell body and the other end which comes into contact with the movable shell and urges it towards the fitting portion. The connector comprises a spring provided inside a main body, and a cover member having a cover through hole through which the movable shell is inserted and fixed to the shell main body, the shell main body having an inner cylindrical portion that accommodates the center contact and the insulating member, and an outer cylindrical portion that is provided outside the inner cylindrical portion and forms a space between the inner cylindrical portion and the outer cylindrical portion to accommodate the spring, the movable shell having an elastic contact portion that slides and comes into contact with the inner cylindrical portion, and a flange portion that is biased by the spring, and the cover member is configured to have a cover support portion that supports the flange portion.
[0010] With this configuration, in the connector according to the present invention, the elastic contact portion of the movable shell slides and comes into contact with the inner cylindrical portion of the shell body, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell and the shell body. Also, the movable shell fits into the fitting portion of the mating electronic device, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell and the mating electronic device. Also, the center contact comes into contact with the contact portion of the mating electronic device, thereby electrically connecting the center contact and the mating electronic device. Therefore, the connector and the mating electronic device are electrically connected via the movable shell and the center contact.
[0011] In addition, when the connector is mated with the mating portion of the mating electronic device, the movable shell slides against the shell body and moves along the central axis while in contact with the shell body, absorbing axial positional deviation with respect to the mating electronic device. The spring biases the flange portion, ensuring contact pressure of the movable shell against the mating electronic device when mated with the mating electronic device.
[0012] Furthermore, the spring biasing force is received by the flange portion, not by the elastic contact portion of the movable shell. As a result, the following two functions of the movable shell, namely (1) the function of electrically connecting by sliding and contacting with the shell body, and (2) the function of receiving the load by the spring biasing force, are respectively shared between the elastic contact portion and the flange portion, so that the elastic contact portion that slides and comes into contact with the shell body is not subjected to a load by the spring biasing force. Therefore, even if the connector is used for a long period of time, the elastic contact portion will not be deformed due to the spring biasing force, and the function of electrically connecting by sliding and contacting with the shell body of the elastic contact portion will not be impaired. Therefore, the connector according to the present invention can be stably electrically connected to a mating electronic device.
[0013] The connector according to the present invention comprises a shell body made of a conductive material, a central contact arranged along the central axis of the shell body and having a tip portion that contacts a contact portion of a mating electronic device, an insulating member interposed between the shell body and the central contact and holding the central contact, a movable shell that is movable along the axial direction of the central axis, slides and comes into contact with the shell body, and fits into a fitting portion of the mating electronic device, a stopper that is formed with a stopper through hole through which the movable shell is inserted and is slidable between an inner circumferential surface of the shell body and the axial direction of the central axis, a spring that is fixed to the shell body and has the other end that contacts the stopper and is provided inside the shell body to bias the stopper toward the fitting portion, and a cover through hole through which the movable shell is inserted and a spring that is formed in the shell body and has a cover through hole through which the movable shell is inserted and a stopper that is slidable between the inner circumferential surface of the shell body and the shell body in the axial direction of the central axis. and a cover member fixed to a main body, wherein the shell main body has an inner cylindrical portion that accommodates the center contact and the insulating member, and an outer cylindrical portion that is provided outside the inner cylindrical portion and forms a space between the inner cylindrical portion and the outer cylindrical portion to accommodate the spring, the stopper has a spring receiving portion that receives the biasing force of the spring and a sliding upright wall that is erected in the axial direction of the central axis and is slidable against the inner surface of the outer cylindrical portion, the movable shell has an elastic contact portion that slides and comes into contact with the inner cylindrical portion, and a flange portion that is biased by the spring via the stopper, and the flange portion supports the stopper, thereby allowing the movable shell and the stopper to move together along the axial direction of the central axis, and the cover member is configured to have a cover support portion that supports the flange portion.
[0014] With this configuration, in the connector according to the present invention, the elastic contact portion of the movable shell slides and comes into contact with the inner cylindrical portion of the shell body, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell and the shell body.
[0015] In addition, when the connector is mated with the mating portion of the mating electronic device, the movable shell slides against the shell body and moves along the central axis while in contact with the shell body, absorbing axial positional deviation with respect to the mating electronic device. The spring biases the flange portion, ensuring contact pressure of the movable shell against the mating electronic device when mated with the mating electronic device.
[0016] Furthermore, the biasing force of the spring is received by the spring receiving portion of the stopper, not by the elastic contact portion of the movable shell. Therefore, even if the connector is used for a long period of time, the elastic contact portion will not deform due to the biasing force of the spring, and the function of electrical connection by sliding and contacting the elastic contact portion with the shell body will not be lost. Therefore, the connector of the present invention can be electrically connected stably to the mating electronic device.
[0017] Furthermore, when using the connector, if the spring shifts horizontally relative to the axial direction of the central axis, the contact pressure of the spring against the movable shell via the stopper will be reduced, resulting in insufficient electrical connection between the movable shell and the mating electronic device, and as a result, the electrical connection between the connector and the mating electronic device will be unstable.
[0018] However, the connector of the present invention has a sliding vertical wall provided on the stopper, which prevents the spring from shifting horizontally relative to the axial direction of the central axis, thereby enabling a more stable electrical connection with the mating electronic device.
[0019] In addition, by forming a stopper through hole in the stopper, the elastic contact portion of the movable shell can slide and contact the inner tubular portion at a position higher than the stopper. Therefore, the height of the space formed between the inner tubular portion and the outer tubular portion to accommodate the spring can be sufficiently secured, and the contact pressure of the spring against the movable shell via the stopper can be secured. Therefore, the electrical connection between the movable shell and the mating electronic device is sufficient, and the electrical connection between the connector and the mating electronic device can be stabilized.
[0020] In the connector having the above-described configuration, the elastic contact portion may be configured to be inserted through the stopper through-hole and to be in contact with the inner cylindrical portion.
[0021] With this configuration, the connector of the present invention has the elastic contact portion of the movable shell inserted into the stopper through hole and contacting the inner cylindrical portion, thereby overlapping the space in which the spring is accommodated in the axial direction of the central axis with the space through which the elastic contact portion moves, thereby ensuring sufficient height to accommodate the spring, and by extending the length of the elastic contact portion, stable elasticity can be obtained, thereby enabling a stable electrical connection between the shell body and the movable shell.
[0022] In the connector having the above-described configuration, the outer tube portion may have a small diameter portion and a large diameter portion having different outer diameters, and the sliding vertical wall may be configured to be slidably arranged against the inner surface of the large diameter portion, which has an outer diameter larger than that of the small diameter portion.
[0023] With this configuration, in the connector according to the present invention, the shell body has a large diameter portion that slides against the sliding vertical wall. By providing the large diameter portion in the shell body in this way, the radial width of the sliding vertical wall can be made sufficient, and lateral displacement of the spring, i.e., displacement in a direction horizontal to the axial direction of the central axis, can be reliably suppressed.
[0024] In the connector having the above-described configuration, the cover member may have a stepped portion recessed to a predetermined height around the cover through hole, and the cover support portion may be formed in the stepped portion.
[0025] With this configuration, the connector according to the present invention can ensure a sufficient height of the space formed between the inner and outer cylindrical parts to accommodate the spring by providing a step part recessed to a predetermined height in the cover member, and therefore can ensure the contact pressure of the spring against the movable shell via the stopper, thereby ensuring a sufficient electrical connection between the movable shell and the mating electronic device, and thus stabilizing the electrical connection between the connector and the mating electronic device.
[0026] In the connector having the above-described configuration, the shell body may be configured to have a protruding piece portion that protrudes toward a bottom surface of the stepped portion below a shell flange formed at the lower end of the outer tubular portion.
[0027] With this configuration, the connector of the present invention can prevent the end of the flange portion of the movable shell from coming into contact with the step portion of the cover member, and can move the cover member and the stopper to the bottom side where the cover support portion of the step portion is formed.
[0028] In the connector having the above-described configuration, the cover member may be configured to have one or more cut-out portions.
[0029] With this configuration, when fixing the shell body to an external electronic device, the connector of the present invention can easily fix the shell body to the external electronic device using a fixing member by utilizing the space opened by the cutout portion. Effect of the Invention
[0030] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a connector that can be stably electrically connected to an electronic device or the like. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0033] Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a connector 100 according to the present embodiment. Figs. 2 and 3 are exploded perspective views of the connector 100 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the connector 100 taken along the line AA in Fig. 1. The XY plane direction in Fig. 1 is called the horizontal direction, and the Z-axis direction is called the axial direction, and this also applies to Fig. 2 and subsequent figures. The positive side in the Z-axis direction is sometimes called the upper side, and the negative side is sometimes called the lower side.
[0034] (connector) As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, the connector 100 includes a shell body 101, a terminal 150, an insulator 151, a movable shell 120, a spring 152, and a cover member 140. The connector 100 is attached to an imaging device 160, which is an electronic device, as described below, and is connected to an external cable connector 163, so that the imaging device 160 and the external cable connector 163 are electrically connected via the connector 100. Examples of electronic devices to which the connector 100 can be attached include imaging devices, industrial robots, medical devices, smartphones, tablets, etc., but are not limited to these, and other electronic devices may also be used. The connector 100 is a so-called floating connector that uses a spring to move a movable part to absorb axial positional deviation with respect to a mating connector, and can be mated without problems at any position.
[0035] (Shell body) Shell body 101 is made of a conductive material and has a cylindrical portion. Although zinc die-casting is used as the material for shell body 101, other metals such as brass may be used. Shell body 101 has an inner cylindrical portion 102, an outer cylindrical portion 103, a first shell flange 106, and a second shell flange 107. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, shell body 101 has two flange portions on the outside and has a double cylindrical structure on the inside and outside. Shell body 101 constitutes the shell body according to the present invention.
[0036] 4, the inner cylindrical portion 102 has an accommodation space S1 formed therein, and accommodates the terminal 150 and the insulator 151 in the accommodation space S1. The inner cylindrical portion 102 has an upper side portion 102a connected to an external cable connector 163, and a lower side portion 102b provided inside the outer cylindrical portion 103 and sliding with the movable shell 120 described below. In this manner, the inner cylindrical portion 102 slides with the movable shell 120 due to the provision of the lower side portion 102b. The inner cylindrical portion 102 is inserted into the movable shell main body 121 of the movable shell 120.
[0037] The outer cylindrical portion 103 is provided on the outside of the lower portion 102b of the inner cylindrical portion 102, and defines an accommodation space S2, which is a space for accommodating a spring, between the outer cylindrical portion 103 and the lower portion 102b.
[0038] First shell flange 106 is provided at the lower end of outer tubular portion 103, and is a disk-shaped member with a diameter larger than the outer diameter of outer tubular portion 103. First shell flange 106 has crimping portions 109a, 109b, and 109c and shell flange holes 110a, 110b, and 110c. In this embodiment, three crimping portions and three shell flange holes are provided, but the number is not necessarily limited to these. First shell flange 106 is a portion to which cover member 140 is fixed.
[0039] Fastening portions 109a, 109b, and 109c are members that fasten cover member 140 provided on the underside of first shell flange 106. More specifically, fastening portions 109a, 109b, and 109c are passed through and fastened to fastening holes 144a, 144c, and 144e of cover member 140, thereby fastening cover member 140. Shell flange holes 110a, 110b, and 110c are holes that are used when fastening first shell flange 106 to an electronic device or the like by fastening or using fastening members such as bolts.
[0040] Second shell flange 107 is a disk-shaped member provided at the upper end of outer tubular portion 103 and has a larger diameter than the outer diameter of upper portion 102 a of inner tubular portion 102 .
[0041] (movable shell) Movable shell 120 is movable along the axial direction (Z-axis direction) of the central axis of shell body 101, and slides and comes into contact with shell body 101, and fits with fitting portion 161a of imaging device 160, which will be described later. Movable shell 120 constitutes a movable shell according to the present invention.
[0042] The movable shell 120 has a cylindrical movable shell main body 121, elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d, and flange parts 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d. Zinc die-casting is used as the material for the movable shell 120, but other metals such as brass may also be used. In this embodiment, four elastic contact parts and four flange parts are provided, but the number is not necessarily limited to these.
[0043] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the movable shell body 121 is a cylindrical part of the movable shell 120. The outer diameter of the movable shell body 121 is larger than the outer diameter of the inner cylindrical part 102, so that the inner cylindrical part 102 can be inserted inside the movable shell body 121. The outer diameter of the movable shell body 121 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cover through hole 142, so that the movable shell body 121 can be inserted inside the cover through hole 142. The movable shell body 121 can be fitted into a fitting part 161a of a socket 161 provided in the imaging device 160, which will be described later. In this way, the movable shell body 121 fits into the fitting part 161a of the imaging device 160, so that the movable shell 120 and the imaging device 160 are electrically connected.
[0044] The elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d slide and come into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the lower part 102b of the inner tube part 102. In this manner, the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d slide and come into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the lower part 102b of the shell main body 101, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell 120 and the shell main body 101. The flange parts 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d are biased downward by the spring 152 and supported by the cover support part of the cover member. The flange parts 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d are biased by the spring 152, so that the movable shell 120 can ensure contact pressure against the imaging device 160 when fitted to the imaging device 160.
[0045] In the movable shell 120 of this embodiment, the biasing force of the spring 152 is received not by the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d but by the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d, so that the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d are not subjected to a load due to the biasing force of the spring 152, and the function of electrically connecting the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d to the shell main body 101 through sliding and contact is not impaired. That is, the movable shell 120 effectively allocates the functions of (1) electrically connecting the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d to the shell main body 101 through sliding and contact, and (2) receiving a load due to the biasing force of the spring 152 to the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d and the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d, respectively.
[0046] In addition, when the connector 100 is engaged with the socket 161 of the imaging device 160, the movable shell 120 slides against the shell body 101 and moves along the Z-axis direction while in contact, thereby absorbing positional misalignment in the Z-axis direction relative to the imaging device 160.
[0047] (Cover material) The cover member 140 is formed with a cover through hole 142 through which the movable shell 120 is inserted, and is fixed to the first shell flange 106 of the shell body 101. The cover member 140 has a cover support portion 141, a cover through hole 142, and fixing holes 144a, 144b, 144c, 144d, 144e, and 144f. For example, SUS is used as the material of the cover member 140, but other metals may also be used. The cover member 140 constitutes the cover member according to the present invention.
[0048] The cover support portion 141 supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d from below. The cover support portion 141 is a region around the cover through hole 142 that supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d, and therefore the region of the cover support portion 141 changes depending on the sizes of the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d.
[0049] The cover through-hole 142 is a through-hole formed in the center of the cover member 140, and the movable shell main body 121 of the movable shell 120 is inserted through the cover through-hole 142. The cover through-hole 142 is a circular through-hole, but may be of another shape that matches the shape of the movable shell 120.
[0050] Fixing holes 144a, 144b, 144c, 144d, 144e, and 144f are six holes formed at approximately equal intervals outside cover through hole 142. In this embodiment, six fixing holes are formed, but the number is not necessarily limited to this. Fixing holes 144a, 144c, and 144e are holes used when fastening cover member 140 to shell main body 101 by fastening parts 109a, 109b, and 109c of shell main body 101. Fixing holes 144b, 144d, and 144f are holes used when fastening cover member 140 and first shell flange 106 to imaging device 160 by fastening or using fastening members such as bolts after aligning with shell flange holes 110a, 110b, and 110c.
[0051] (Terminal) 4, terminal 150 is disposed along the central axis of shell body 101, and tip portion 150a contacts contact portion 161b of imaging device 160. Terminal 150 is held by insulator 151, and at that time engages with an engagement portion of insulator 151 (not shown). A copper alloy is used as the material for terminal 150, but other metals may also be used. Terminal 150 constitutes a central contact according to the present invention.
[0052] A tip portion 150a of the terminal 150 contacts a contact portion 161b of a socket 161 provided in the imaging device 160. Also, a rear end portion 150b of the terminal 150 contacts an external cable connector 163. In this manner, the tip portion 150a of the terminal 150 contacts the contact portion 161b of the socket 161, so that the terminal 150 and the imaging device 160 are electrically connected to each other. Also, the rear end portion 150b of the terminal 150 contacts the external cable connector 163, so that the terminal 150 and the cable connector 163 are electrically connected to each other.
[0053] (Insulator) Insulator 151 is interposed between shell body 101 and terminal 150 to hold terminal 150. Insulator 151 is made of an insulating material such as polyamide or other resin, but is not necessarily limited to this. Insulator 151 is accommodated in accommodation space S1 inside inner tubular portion 102 of shell body 101. Insulator 151 constitutes an insulating member according to the present invention.
[0054] (Spring) Spring 152 is provided inside shell body 101, with one end 152a fixed to shell body 101 and the other end 152b contacting movable shell 120 and biasing it towards fitting portion 161a of socket 161. One end 152a is held by a protrusion or the like of shell body 101 (not shown). Spring 152 is made of, for example, SUS, but may be made of other metals such as copper alloys. Spring 152 constitutes the spring according to the present invention.
[0055] The spring 152 is accommodated inside the accommodation space S2 formed between the outer cylindrical portion 103 and the inner cylindrical portion 102. The spring 152 biases the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d of the movable shell 120 toward the fitting portion 161a. The biasing force of the spring 152 ensures contact pressure of the movable shell 120 against the socket 161, and sufficient electrical connection between the movable shell 120 and the imaging device 160 is achieved.
[0056] (Example of application to imaging devices) An example in which the above-described connector 100 is applied to an imaging device 160 will be described.
[0057] 5 is a schematic diagram showing the connector 100, the imaging device 160, and the cable connector 163. The imaging device 160 includes a socket 161 and a substrate 162. The socket 161 has a fitting portion 161a that fits with the movable shell body 121 and a contact portion 161b that comes into contact with the terminal 150. The socket 161 is attached on the substrate 162. The imaging device 160 constitutes a counterpart electronic device according to the present invention.
[0058] The cable connector 163 fits into the upper side portion 102a of the shell body 101 and comes into contact with the rear end portion 150b of the terminal 150. This electrically connects the terminal 150 and the cable connector 163, and an electrical signal of the imaging device 160 is transmitted to the cable connector 163 via the connector 100.
[0059] 6 shows a state in which the movable shell body 121 of the movable shell 120 of the connector 100 is fitted into the fitting portion 161a of the socket 161, and the terminal 150 is in contact with the contact portion 161b. In this state, the cover support portion 141 of the cover member 140 is in contact with and supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d. There is almost no contact pressure applied to the movable shell 120 against the socket 161.
[0060] Fig. 7 shows a state in which the entire connector 100 has been pushed downward from the state shown in Fig. 6. In this state, the tip portion 150a of the terminal 150 is pushed into the contact portion 161b and comes into stronger contact. Also, the spring 152 is compressed, and the urging force against the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d increases, so that the contact pressure of the movable shell 120 against the socket 161 can be sufficiently ensured. The movable shell 120, which is not fixed to the shell main body 101, remains in the position shown in Fig. 6, and the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d are spaced apart from the cover support portion 141.
[0061] As described above, the connector 100 according to this embodiment includes a shell body 101 made of a conductive material, a terminal 150 arranged along the central axis of the shell body 101 and having a tip portion 150a that contacts a contact portion 161b of the imaging device 160, an insulator 151 interposed between the shell body 101 and the terminal 150 and holding the terminal 150, a movable shell 120 that is movable along the axial direction of the central axis, slides and contacts with the shell body 101, and engages with a mating portion 161a of the imaging device 160, a spring 152 provided inside the shell body 101 and has one end 152a fixed to the shell body 101 and the other end 152b that contacts the movable shell 120 and biases it toward the mating portion 161a, and a cover member 140 that is formed with a cover through-hole 142 through which the movable shell 120 is inserted and is fixed to the shell body 101. In addition, the shell main body 101 has an inner cylindrical portion 102 that accommodates the terminal 150 and the insulator 151 in the accommodation space S1, and an outer cylindrical portion 103 that is provided outside the inner cylindrical portion 102 and forms an accommodation space S2 between the inner cylindrical portion 102 and the outer cylindrical portion 103 that accommodates the spring 152. The movable shell 120 has elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d that slide and come into contact with the inner cylindrical portion 102, and flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d that are biased by the spring 152. The cover member 140 has a cover support portion 141 that supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d.
[0062] With this configuration, in the connector 100 according to this embodiment, the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 slide and come into contact with the inner cylindrical portion 102 of the shell body 101, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell 120 to the shell body 101. Also, the movable shell 120 fits into the fitting portion 161a of the imaging device 160, thereby electrically connecting the movable shell 120 to the imaging device 160. Also, the terminal 150 comes into contact with the contact portion 161b of the imaging device 160, thereby electrically connecting the terminal 150 to the imaging device 160. Therefore, the connector 100 and the imaging device 160 are electrically connected via the movable shell 120 and the terminal 150.
[0063] Furthermore, when the connector 100 is fitted with the fitting portion 161a of the imaging device 160, the movable shell 120 slides against the shell body 101 and moves along the axial direction of the central axis while in contact with the imaging device 160, thereby absorbing axial positional deviation with respect to the imaging device 160. Furthermore, the spring 152 biases the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d, thereby ensuring contact pressure of the movable shell 120 against the imaging device 160 when the connector 100 is fitted with the imaging device 160.
[0064] Furthermore, the biasing force of the spring 152 is received by the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d, not by the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120. As a result, the following two of the functions of the movable shell 120, namely (1) the function of electrically connecting by sliding and contacting with the shell main body 101, and (2) the function of receiving the load due to the biasing force of the spring 152, are respectively assigned to the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d and the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d, so that the load due to the biasing force of the spring 152 is not applied to the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d that slide and come into contact with the shell main body 101. Therefore, even if connector 100 is used for a long period of time, elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d will not deform due to the biasing force of spring 152, and the function of electrical connection through sliding and contact of elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d with shell body 101 will not be impaired. Therefore, connector 100 according to this embodiment can be electrically connected to imaging device 160 in a stable manner.
[0065] (Second embodiment) The main configuration of connector 200 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the first embodiment described above. Therefore, in the following explanation, the configuration that is the same as that of the first embodiment is indicated by the same reference numerals and the explanation is omitted. The differences from the first embodiment, particularly stopper 230 and outer tube portion 203 of shell body 201, will be explained with reference to Figures 8 to 11.
[0066] Fig. 8 is a perspective view showing connector 200 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 9 is a perspective view showing stopper 230 used in connector 200 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 10 is a cross-sectional view of connector 200 taken along line AA in Fig. 8.
[0067] (Stopper) The connector 200 according to this embodiment includes a stopper 230. The stopper 230 is formed with a stopper through-hole 233 through which the movable shell 120 passes, and is slidable in the Z-axis direction, which is the axial direction of the central axis, along with the inner circumferential surface of the shell main body 201. The stopper 230 has a sliding vertical wall 231, a spring receiving portion 232, and a stopper through-hole 233. The stopper 230 is made of a resin such as polyamide, which is an insulating member, but is not necessarily limited to this. The stopper 230 constitutes a stopper according to the present invention.
[0068] The sliding vertical wall 231 is disposed so as to be slidable along the large diameter portion inner circumferential surface 205a, which is the inner circumferential surface of the large diameter portion 205 of the outer cylindrical portion 203, and is erected in the Z-axis direction, which is the axial direction of the central axis, on the outer edge of the shell body 201. Since the sliding vertical wall 231 is erected, the spring 152 is prevented from shifting in the horizontal direction with respect to the Z-axis direction, so that the spring 152 can be electrically connected to the imaging device 160 more stably.
[0069] The spring receiving portion 232 is a portion that receives the biasing force of the spring 152, and is formed around the stopper through hole 233 with a step at a lower position inside the sliding vertical wall 231. The spring receiving portion 232 is biased toward the fitting portion 161a by the other end portion 152b of the spring 152. The stopper 230 including the spring receiving portion 232 is supported from below by the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d. Therefore, the spring 152 biases the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d via the spring receiving portion 232. The stopper 230 is biased by the spring 152 and can move together with the movable shell 120 along the Z-axis direction, which is the central axis of the shell main body 201.
[0070] In this way, the biasing force of spring 152 is received by spring receiving portion 232 and not by elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d, so that elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d will not deform due to the biasing force of spring 152, and the function of elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d to slide and contact with shell body 201 and to electrically connect is not impaired.
[0071] The stopper through hole 233 is a through hole through which the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 are inserted. That is, the inner diameter of the stopper through hole 233 is larger than the outer diameter of the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120. The stopper through hole 233 is a circular through hole, but may have another shape in accordance with the shape of the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120.
[0072] In this way, the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 are inserted into the stopper through hole 233, and the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d come into contact with the inner cylindrical portion 202. By overlapping the area of the space S2 in which the spring 152 is accommodated in the Z-axis direction with the area of the space S2 in which the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d move, a sufficient height can be secured for accommodating the spring 152, and stable elasticity can be obtained by extending the length of the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d.
[0073] By forming the stopper through-hole 233 in the stopper 230, the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 can slide and come into contact with the inner tubular portion 202 at a position higher than the stopper 230. Therefore, the height of the accommodation space S2 for accommodating the spring 152 formed between the inner tubular portion 202 and the outer tubular portion 203 can be sufficiently secured, so that the contact pressure of the spring 152 against the movable shell 120 via the stopper 230 can be secured.
[0074] (Shell body) Outer cylindrical portion 203 of shell body 201 has small diameter portion 204 and large diameter portion 205 which have different outer diameters. The outer diameter of large diameter portion 205 is larger than the outer diameter of small diameter portion 204. Large diameter portion inner peripheral surface 205a, which is the inner peripheral surface of large diameter portion 205, is a surface on which sliding vertical wall 231 can slide. Shell body 201 constitutes the shell body according to the present invention.
[0075] A third shell flange 208 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the outer tubular portion 203 at the boundary between the small diameter portion 204 and the large diameter portion 205. A step surface 210 is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer tubular portion 203 at the boundary between the small diameter portion 204 and the large diameter portion 205. The step surface 210 is located above the sliding vertical wall 231, and when an unexpectedly large load that compresses the spring 152 is applied, the upward movement of the stopper 230 can be stopped at the position of the step surface 210. By providing the large diameter portion 205 in the shell main body 201 in this way, the radial width of the sliding vertical wall 231 can be sufficiently secured, and the lateral shift of the spring 152, i.e., the shift in the direction horizontal to the Z-axis direction, can be reliably suppressed.
[0076] (Example of application to imaging devices) An example in which the above-described connector 200 is applied to an imaging device 160 will be described.
[0077] 11 shows a state in which the movable shell body 121 of the movable shell 120 of the connector 200 is fitted into the fitting portion 161a of the socket 161, and the entire connector 100 is pushed downward from the state in which the terminal 150 is in contact with the contact portion 161b. In this state, the tip portion 150a of the terminal 150 is pushed into the contact portion 161b and comes into stronger contact. In addition, the spring 152 is compressed, and the urging force against the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d increases, and the contact pressure of the movable shell 120 against the socket 161 can be sufficiently secured. The movable shell 120, which is not fixed to the shell body 201, does not move following the shell body 201, so that the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d are separated from the cover support portion 141.
[0078] As described above, connector 200 according to this embodiment comprises shell body 201 made of a conductive material, terminal 150 arranged along the central axis of shell body 201 and having tip portion 150a that contacts contact portion 161b of imaging device 160, insulator 151 interposed between shell body 201 and terminal 150 and holding terminal 150, and movable shell 151 that is movable along the axial direction of the central axis, slides and comes into contact with shell body 201, and fits with fitting portion 161a of imaging device 160. the stopper 230 having a stopper through hole 233 through which the movable shell 120 is inserted and capable of sliding in the axial direction of the central axis relative to the inner circumferential surface of the shell body 201; a spring 152 provided inside the shell body 201 having one end 152a fixed to the shell body 201 and the other end 152b contacting the stopper 230 and biasing it toward the fitting portion 161a; and a cover member 140 having a cover through hole 142 through which the movable shell 120 is inserted and fixed to the shell body 201. The shell body 201 has an inner cylindrical portion 202 that houses the terminal 150 and the insulator 151, and an outer cylindrical portion 203 that is provided outside the inner cylindrical portion 202 and forms an accommodation space S2 between the inner cylindrical portion 202 and the outer cylindrical portion 203 to accommodate the spring 152. The stopper 230 has a spring receiving portion 232 that receives the biasing force of the spring 152 and a sliding upright wall 231 that is upright in the axial direction of the central axis so as to be slidable on the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylindrical portion 203. The movable shell 120 has an elastic member that slides and comes into contact with the inner cylindrical portion 202. The movable shell 120 has elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, 122d and flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d which are biased by spring 152 via stopper 230, and the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d support the stopper 230, allowing both the movable shell 120 and the stopper 230 to move along the axial direction of the central axis, and the cover member 140 has a cover support portion 141 which supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d.
[0079] With this configuration, the connector 200 according to the present embodiment provides the following advantages in addition to the advantages of the connector 100 according to the first embodiment.
[0080] Furthermore, the connector 200 is adapted to receive the biasing force of the spring 152 not at the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 but at the spring receiving portion 232 of the stopper 230. Therefore, even if the connector 200 is used for a long period of time, the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d will not be deformed due to the biasing force of the spring 152, and the function of electrically connecting through sliding and contact of the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d with the shell main body 201 will not be impaired. Therefore, the connector 200 according to this embodiment can be electrically connected to the imaging device 160 in a stable manner.
[0081] Furthermore, if the spring 152 is misaligned horizontally relative to the axial direction of the central axis when the connector 200 is in use, the contact pressure of the spring 152 against the movable shell 120 via the stopper 230 will be reduced, and the electrical connection between the movable shell 120 and the imaging device 160 will become insufficient, resulting in an unstable electrical connection between the connector 200 and the imaging device 160.
[0082] However, since the connector 200 has a sliding vertical wall 231 erected on the stopper 230, the spring 152 is prevented from shifting horizontally relative to the axial direction of the central axis, so that the connector 200 can be electrically connected to the imaging device 160 more stably.
[0083] Further, the stopper 230 is formed with a stopper through hole 233, and the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell are inserted into the stopper through hole 233, so that the elastic contact parts 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 can slide and contact with the inner tubular part 202 at a position higher than the stopper 230. Therefore, the height of the accommodation space S2 for accommodating the spring 152 formed between the inner tubular part 202 and the outer tubular part 203 can be sufficiently secured, so that the contact pressure of the spring 152 against the movable shell 120 via the stopper 230 can be secured. Therefore, the electrical connection between the movable shell and the imaging device 160 is sufficient, and the electrical connection between the connector 200 and the imaging device 160 can be stabilized.
[0084] In the connector 200 , the elastic contact portions 122 a , 122 b , 122 c , and 122 d are configured to be inserted through the stopper through-hole 233 and to be in contact with the inner cylindrical portion 202 .
[0085] With this configuration, the connector 200 has the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d of the movable shell 120 inserted into the stopper through-hole 233, and the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d come into contact with the inner cylindrical portion 202, thereby overlapping the space S2 in which the spring 152 is accommodated in the Z-axis direction with the area of the space S2 in which the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d move, thereby ensuring a sufficient height to accommodate the spring 152, and by extending the length of the elastic contact portions 122a, 122b, 122c, and 122d, stable elasticity is obtained, thereby enabling a stable electrical connection between the shell body 201 and the movable shell 120.
[0086] In addition, in connector 200, outer tube portion 203 has small diameter portion 204 and large diameter portion 205 having different outer diameters, and is configured so that sliding vertical wall 231 is slidably arranged against large diameter portion inner surface 205a, which is the inner surface of large diameter portion 205, which has a larger outer diameter than small diameter portion 204.
[0087] With this configuration, connector 200 has shell body 201 with large diameter portion 205, which slides against sliding vertical wall 231. By providing shell body 201 with large diameter portion 205 in this manner, the radial width of sliding vertical wall 231 can be made sufficiently large, and lateral displacement of spring 152, i.e., displacement in a direction horizontal to the axial direction of the central axis, can be reliably suppressed.
[0088] (Third embodiment) Since the main configuration of connector 300 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the second embodiment described above, in the following explanation, the configuration that is the same as that of the second embodiment is indicated by the same reference numerals and the explanation is omitted. The points that differ from the second embodiment, particularly cover member 340 and outer tube portion 303 of shell body 301, will be explained with reference to Figures 12 to 15.
[0089] Fig. 12 is a perspective view showing connector 300 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 13 is a perspective view showing cover member 340 used in connector 300 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 14 is a cross-sectional view of connector 300 taken along line AA in Fig. 12.
[0090] (Cover material) The cover member 340 according to the present embodiment is formed with a cover through hole 342 through which the movable shell 120 is inserted, and is fixed to the first shell flange 106 of the shell body 301. The cover member 340 has a step portion 341, a cover through hole 342, a cover fixing surface 343, fixing holes 344a, 344b, 344c, and notches 345a, 345b, 345c. Unlike the cover member 140 according to the first embodiment, the cover member 340 has a step portion 341 recessed by a predetermined height around the cover through hole 342, and has three notches 345a, 345b, 345c. The cover member 340 constitutes a cover member according to the present invention.
[0091] The step portion 341 is an area recessed downward from the cover fixing surface 343 by a predetermined height around the cover through hole 342. The step portion 341 is formed with a cover support portion 341a. In this embodiment, the step portion 341 and the cover support portion 341a are the same area, but the cover support portion 341a may be a part of the step portion 341. The cover support portion 341a supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d from below. Since the cover support portion 341a is an area that supports the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d, the area of the cover support portion 341a also changes depending on the size of the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d.
[0092] By providing the step portion 341 in the cover member 340, the height of the space S2 for accommodating the spring 152 formed between the inner cylindrical portion 302 and the outer cylindrical portion 303 can be sufficiently secured, thereby ensuring the contact pressure of the spring 152 against the movable shell 120 via the stopper 230.
[0093] Furthermore, by providing step portion 341 in cover member 340, the distance from the fulcrum with respect to the force received from flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d is shortened, and the rigidity of cover support portion 341a that receives flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d is increased by the principle of leverage, thereby preventing cover member 340 from deforming due to the biasing force of spring 152 and causing movable shell 120 to fall off shell main body 301.
[0094] The cover through-hole 342 is a through-hole formed in the center of the cover member 340, and the movable shell main body 121 of the movable shell 120 is inserted through the cover through-hole 342. The cover through-hole 342 is a circular through-hole, but may be of another shape that matches the shape of the movable shell 120.
[0095] Cover fixing surface 343 is a surface that is fixed to first shell flange 106 of shell body 301 when cover member 340 is fixed to shell body 301. Cover fixing surface 343 is formed around step portion 341 that is recessed downward, and above step portion 341.
[0096] Fixing holes 344a, 344b, and 344c are three holes formed at approximately equal intervals outside cover through-hole 342. In this embodiment, three fixing holes are formed, but the number is not necessarily limited to this. Fixing holes 344a, 344b, and 344c are holes used when fastening cover member 340 to shell body 301 by fastening portions 109a, 109b, and 109c of shell body 301.
[0097] The cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c are three portions cut out at approximately equal intervals along the outer periphery of the cover member 340. The cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c are each cut out in a substantially semicircular shape. In this embodiment, three cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c are formed, but the number is not necessarily limited to this. The shapes of the cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c may be other shapes, such as a triangular shape.
[0098] As shown in FIG. 12(b), by forming cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c in cover member 340, when fixing shell body 301 to imaging device 160, the space created by cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c can be utilized to easily fix shell body 301 to imaging device 160 using a fixing member (not shown).
[0099] (Shell body) Outer tube portion 303 of shell body 301 has annular protruding piece 303a that protrudes toward the bottom surface on which cover support portion 341a of stepped portion 341 is formed, below first shell flange 106 formed at the lower end. The outer periphery of protruding piece 303a is separated by a predetermined distance from step side surface 341b of stepped portion 341 of cover member 340, and the lower end is in contact with the bottom surface of stepped portion 341. However, the outer periphery of protruding piece 303a may also be in contact with step side surface 341b of stepped portion 341 of cover member 340. Providing protruding piece 303a on outer tube portion 303 can prevent ends of flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, 123d of movable shell 120 from contacting step side surface 341b of step portion 341 of cover member 340, and can move cover member 340 and stopper 230 to the bottom surface side on which cover support portion 341a of step portion 341 is formed. Shell body 301 constitutes the shell body according to the present invention.
[0100] (Example of application to imaging devices) An example in which the above-described connector 300 is applied to the imaging device 160 will be described.
[0101] 15 shows a state in which the movable shell body 121 of the movable shell 120 of the connector 300 is fitted into the fitting portion 161a of the socket 161, and the entire connector 300 is pushed downward from the state in which the terminal 150 is in contact with the contact portion 161b. The movable shell 120, which is not fixed to the shell body 301, does not move following the shell body 301, so that the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d are separated from the cover support portion 341a.
[0102] As described above, in connector 300 according to the present embodiment, cover member 340 has step portion 341 recessed by a predetermined height around cover through hole 342, and cover support portion 341a is formed in step portion 341.
[0103] With this configuration, connector 300 according to the present embodiment can ensure a sufficient height of accommodation space S2 for accommodating spring 152 formed between inner tubular portion 302 and outer tubular portion 303 by providing cover member 340 with stepped portion 341 recessed to a predetermined height, and can therefore ensure the contact pressure of spring 152 against movable shell 120 via stopper 230. Therefore, electrical connection between movable shell 120 and imaging device 160 is sufficient, and electrical connection between connector 300 and imaging device 160 can be stabilized.
[0104] In the connector 300, the shell body 301 is configured to have a protruding piece portion 303a that protrudes toward the bottom surface side where the cover support portion 341a of the step portion 341 is formed below the first shell flange 106 formed at the lower end of the outer tube portion 303.
[0105] With this configuration, the connector 300 can prevent the ends of the flange portions 123a, 123b, 123c, and 123d of the movable shell 120 from coming into contact with the step portion 341 of the cover member 340, and can move the cover member 340 and the stopper 230 to the bottom side where the cover support portion 341a of the step portion 341 is formed.
[0106] In the connector 300, the cover member 340 is configured to have three cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c.
[0107] With this configuration, when fixing shell body 301 to imaging device 160, connector 300 can easily fix shell body 301 to imaging device 160 using a fixing member by utilizing the space created by cutout portions 345a, 345b, and 345c.
[0108] INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY As described above, the connector according to the present invention has the effect of enabling stable electrical connection with electronic devices and the like, and is useful as a connector in general. [Explanation of symbols]
