Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a baking or roasting pan for an oven and to a kit of parts comprising a baking and roasting pan and an integrating device for accumulating fluids in the baking or roasting pan (draining pan). [Background technology]

[0002] Baking and roasting pans are widely used for preparing food in ovens. Generally, pans are rectangular in shape, have a bottom wall and a side wall, and are very simply designed. This simple shape ensures that the pan can be easily inserted into the oven to prepare food.

[0003] During food preparation in the oven, especially roasting meat, will give off liquid, which will ooze out of the meat during heating in the oven. This liquid will accumulate in the pan, and when using this liquid, for example to prepare a sauce, it is necessary to remove the pan from the oven and pour the liquid from the pan into a container or cooking pot. This liquid and the pan are generally at a very high temperature, i.e., above 100°C, when removed from the oven, which can be a dangerous process, which can cause injuries such as burns to people.

[0004] Additionally, because hot pans are typically removed from the oven by personnel using potholders or oven gloves, the pan and its contents are difficult to control, which can also promote the risk of accidents and injuries. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] It is an object of the present invention to provide a baking or roasting pan which can be removed from an oven in a safe manner.

[0006] Another object is to provide a baking or roasting pan from which liquid can be extracted in an easy and simple manner. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] The present invention relates to a baking or roasting pan for an oven, comprising: - a bottom for placing the food to be baked, - sides extending upwardly from said base for retaining fluids in the baking or roasting pan; - A pan outlet located at the bottom or lower part of the side to allow fluids to exit; - a valve for controlling the flow of fluid through said pan outlet; Equipped with This valve is an inlet port for receiving said fluid; an outlet port in fluid communication with the pan outlet; An actuator for opening and closing the valve, comprising: an actuator having a closed state and an open state; an actuator member for actuating said actuator by engaging with an integrated device actuated by a user; Equipped with Thereby, when engaged by an integrated device for safe and clean emptying of the baking pan, the valve is opened for fluid flow.

[0008] The pan is to be arranged for use as a home oven, i.e. a domestic oven. The width of the oven may be up to 90cm, i.e. the width of the baking or roasting pan may be less than 90cm.

[0009] The sides of the baking or roasting pan will have a height that makes the pan deep enough to hold liquid. Example heights may range from 0.5 to 10 cm, such as 1 to 8 cm, or from 2 to 6 cm. The baking or roasting pan may constitute a deep pan, i.e. a pan with sides with higher end heights than the mentioned ranges.

[0010] In accordance with the present invention, the pan includes a pan outlet at its bottom portion and a valve is disposed to control the flow of fluid or liquid through the outlet, the control being governed by an inlet port connected to an actuator, the actuator being actuated by engagement of an actuator member with an integrated device.

[0011] The integrated device is preferably a handheld device and is capable of engaging the valve and actuator member while the pan is in the oven.

[0012] When the integration device engages the actuator member, the actuator opens an inlet port of the valve allowing fluid to flow out of the pan through the valve. Preferably, the integration pan includes an integration compartment into which liquid may flow.

[0013] The accumulation portion may be formed to have a volume of 0.25 to 3 litres. The height of the accumulation portion may be in the range of 0.5 to 15cm, such as 1 to 10cm, such as 1 to 5cm.

[0014] Depending on the hinge arrangement of the oven, the accumulation device may have different shapes, for example when the pan is used with an oven having a side-hinged door, the accumulation compartment may have a height higher than the above mentioned range, such as 5-10 cm.

[0015] The accumulation device may be positioned such that, when the actuator member is actuated, the opening into the accumulation compartment is below the pan outlet, whereby liquid falls into the opening.

[0016] The pan, valves, actuators and integrated devices are made from materials that can withstand the heat from the oven, preferably steel, such as stainless steel.

[0017] For example, grilled meat may emit not only liquid but also meat particles and other impurities during heat treatment in an oven, so a filter is preferably installed at the inlet port to filter out impurities from the above fluid.

[0018] In the baking or roasting pan embodiment, the filter is replaceable, so when it becomes clogged with impurities, the filter can be replaced or, optionally, cleaned and reused.

[0019] The valve of the baking or roasting pan according to the invention preferably has a valve with a valve axis perpendicular to the bottom of the pan, the valve rotating about the axis between closed and open positions, meaning that the inlet port which opens and closes the valve rotates about the valve axis to open and close the valve.

[0020] The baking or roasting pan in an embodiment comprises a pawl for guiding the accumulation device, for example attached to or associated with the valve, whereby the accumulation member is guided to the valve for accumulating the fluid in the pan. The baking or roasting pan can then be emptied of the fluid in an easy and safe manner.

[0021] The invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising a baking or roasting pan as described above and an integration device for integrating a fluid in the baking or roasting pan.

[0022] In an embodiment of the kit of parts comprising a baking or roasting pan and an integration device, the integration device comprises an integration device.

[0023] In an embodiment, the integrated device has a first track such that when the tray member engages the actuator member, the actuator member is moved by the first track. An actuator that controls the opening and closing of the valve is thus actuated by the integrated device and the first track on the integrated device, thereby opening the valve and allowing fluid to flow through the valve.

[0024] For ease of handling of the baking or roasting pan and the integrated device, the integrated device preferably has a handle for holding the integrated device, which is preferably attached to the integrated device such that heat from the oven or the baking or roasting pan does not reach the handle.

[0025] In a kit of parts embodiment, the integrated device has a compartment for containing fluids, thus fluids from a baking or roasting pan, which may be quite hot, can be collected and contained / pooled in the compartment of the integrated device in a safe manner.

[0026] The kit of parts according to the present invention also includes an embodiment in which the integration device has an inlet that extends below the pan outlet when the integration device is engaged with the actuator member.

[0027] In one embodiment, the kit of parts integrated device has a second track for guiding the integrated device as the actuator member is moved.

[0028] Preferably the first trajectory is curved and preferably the second trajectory is linear. The first trajectory engages the actuator member and preferably the actuator member is moved non-linearly to effect opening of the valve of the pan. The second trajectory acts as a guide for engagement of the pan with the integration device and is preferably linear.

[0029] The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the following drawings. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0030] [Figure 1] FIG. 1 illustrates a baking or roasting pan and integrated device according to the present invention, viewed from above. [Diagram 2] FIG. 2 illustrates a baking or roasting pan and integrated device according to the present invention, seen from below. [Diagram 3] FIG. 1 is an overall view of a kit of parts according to the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0031] The figures are intended only to illustrate the principles of the invention and may not be exact in all details. Moreover, parts that do not form part of the invention may be omitted. The same reference numbers are used for the same parts.

[0032] FIG. 1 shows a baking or roasting pan 1 and an accumulating device 10 constituting an accumulating tray.

[0033] Pan 1 is shaped as a conventional pan, with a base and sides defined by sidewalls 6 extending from the base.

[0034] The pan has pan outlets (holes) in the bottom or lower portion of the sidewall to allow fluids to exit the pan. The pan outlets are not visible in FIG.

[0035] Disposed with the outlet is a valve 2. The valve has an inlet port 5 and an outlet port (not shown) and a passage for passing liquid through the valve between the inlet and outlet ports. The outlet port is disposed above the pan outlet.

[0036] The flow of liquid through the valve is controlled by a valve member for opening and closing the valve.

[0037] The valve member may be actuated by an actuator member 3. The actuator member is arranged to be actuated by an integrated device.

[0038] The actuator member may be L-shaped, the foot of the L-shaped actuator member may be a knob, and the opposite end of the L-shaped actuator member may be attached to the stem of the valve.

[0039] The valve further comprises a pawl 7. The pawl 7 serves to guide the integrated device 10 when the actuator member is actuated.

[0040] The accumulation device 10 comprises a compartment 4 for receiving accumulated liquid from the pan. This compartment is closed (except for having an opening / inlet 11 into the compartment for receiving liquid from the pan outlet). The opening is located at the top of the compartment.

[0041] The integrated device has a handle 15 for holding the integrated device.

[0042] The integrated device includes an integrated arm 16 that extends from the integrated device for actuating the actuator member.

[0043] The accumulation device is arranged so that the accumulation arm extends above the pan and the inlet 11 is below the pan when the actuator member is actuated with the accumulation device.

[0044] The collection arm is disposed on an opposite side of the handle.

[0045] FIG. 2 shows the pan 1 and the integrated device 10, seen from below.

[0046] The pan bottom has a pan outlet 8 adapted to engage with an inlet 11 of an accumulation device 10 .

[0047] Pan outlet 8 is connected to valve 2 and inlet port 5 so that liquid / fluid from pan 1 can be directed through pan outlet 8 and inlet 11 to integrated device 10 .

[0048] When fluid from the pan 1 is transferred to the accumulation device 10, the fluid is contained within the compartments. When the fluid is to be used, it can be poured out of the accumulation device 10 via the inlet 11. Alternatively, the accumulation may have a compartment outlet separate from the inlet.

[0049] Figure 2 also shows details of the arm 16. The arm 16 is provided with an actuator track 16a for engaging an actuator member on the valve 2, the knob / handle of the actuator member passing into the actuator track.

[0050] The actuator track 16a has a path that will cause the actuator member to move / rotate laterally during engagement, thereby opening the valve and allowing free flow of fluid from the pan 1 to the integrated device 10 via the inlet port 5, the pan outlet 8, and the inlet 11. That is, the actuator track may be curved or may be substantially straight / rectilinear, but at an angle to the guide track 16b.

[0051] The accumulating member 16 also comprises a guide track 16b which is substantially straight and adapted to engage with the pawl 7 in order to guide the accumulating device 10 relative to the pan 1.

[0052] The shapes of the actuator trajectory and the guide trajectory may be interchanged such that the actuator trajectory is substantially straight and the guide trajectory is curved.

[0053] Both trajectories may be curved or straight and may have an angle relative to the movement of the accumulating device, i.e. the accumulating device is then intended to be moved along a substantially straight line towards the pan.

[0054] The integrated device may be a tool (without a compartment for containing liquid) for actuating the actuator member, i.e. the tool may comprise a brake for the actuator member to move it, and at the same time a compartment may be held below the pan outlet to receive liquid from the pan.

[0055] FIG. 3 illustrates the kit of parts as seen by a user as the user moves the integrated device towards a pan inside an oven (oven not shown in the figure).

[0056] The components include a pan 1 and an integrated device 10. Pan 1 is a conventional rectangular pan with a bottom and sides.

[0057] The pan 1 also includes a valve, with an actuator member 3 and a pawl 7 for actuating the valve, which engages the pan 1 with an integration device 10 with an integration member 16 , a compartment, and a handle 15 .

[0058] The figures only illustrate embodiments of the invention, and one skilled in the art will appreciate that the invention can be realized in many other ways. The valves, for example, can be constructed in different ways. The pans and integrated devices can have different sizes and shapes than those shown in the examples.
