A modular outdoor grill for cooking over a bed of combustible fuel or by means of convection heating from an externally mounted firebox. The modular grill comprises a housing with an outwardly, horizontally pivotal food-supporting tray, a vertically extending standard for supporting said housing, and either a horizontally reciprocating fuel-supporting grate or an externally mounted firebox.

An oven for transferring heat to food in trays and a method for using the oven. The oven includes a cabinet with partitions dividing the interior into a plurality of separate, thermally isolated holding compartments each adapted for removably receiving a tray of food. Heat sources above the tray emit radiant heat to warm the food in the trays. A control mechanism controls the duration of the total hold time for the food having a duration of heated holding time during which a respective heat source is activated. The oven also includes a forced air mechanism under the control of the control mechanism for delivering forced air into the compartments. The heat sources are activated and deactivated during successive duty cycles to thereby to maintain the food in a respective compartment at a selected holding temperature for a duration of heated holding time.

A handle and light assembly for use on a barbecue grill. The assembly is inclusive of handle and at least one source of illumination for illuminating a cooking surface inside a hollow cooking chamber of the barbecue grill. The handle may function both as a means for opening a lid to access the cooking surface and also as a compartment for retaining the energy used to power the source of illumination. The lid includes at least one channel for the appropriate wiring to extend from the energy compartment to the illumination source. Accordingly, the handle may be located on the outside of the grill lid, and the source of illumination may be located inside the hollow cooking chamber.

An appliance is rendered self-cleaning of accumulated organic contaminants on one or more surfaces of the appliance, by coating such surfaces of the appliance with a photocatalytically-activated self-cleaning coating. Upon exposing such coated surfaces to radiation of the appropriate wavelength, for a sufficient interval of time, at least a portion of the organic contaminants present on the photocatalytically-activated self-cleaning coating are removed. The coated surface is thereby cleaned without the need of manual effort or high temperatures. The radiation is generally actinic radiation, and more particularly includes ultraviolet radiation.

A lighting unit for a vehicle includes a light emitting diode unit, a plate-shaped radiating board having an upper surface to which the light emitting diode unit is directly fixed, and a feeding connector connected electrically to the light emitting diode unit at the end of the radiating board and having an input portion for a power to be supplied to the light emitting diode unit below the radiating board. A grill, such as a gas-fired grill, can employ a light assembly for illuminating a cooking area and/or a fuel gage that can be more readily and accurately read to determine an amount of fuel in a fuel tank. The light assembly includes a light source, which is mounted to an upper one of two discrete lids. The light source can be selectively illuminated via a switch. The switch may be coupled to a handle that is employed to open and close the second lid. The handle can be coupled to a side of the lid so as to position the switch in a location that can be relatively cool. The fuel gage can employ a pivoting platform, the motion of which may be employed to determine an amount of fuel in the fuel tank.

In accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, a cooking apparatus includes a casing, a cooking chamber provided inside the casing and including a discharge plate at which a plurality of outlet holes are formed, a tray provided at a bottom surface of the cooking chamber to support food, and a hot air discharging unit configured to discharge high-temperature air into the cooking chamber through the outlet holes, wherein the plurality of outlet holes are formed at a first area facing the tray.

The present invention relates to an air-based fryer apparatus (10) for preparing food. The apparatus (10) comprises a base part (12) comprising an upper support (14) and a gearing system (16) to generate a rotation force around a vertical rotation axis (18). The apparatus (10) further comprises a container (20) arranged on the upper support (14) and a food basket (22) with an air-permeable bottom part (24). The food basket is placed inside the container (20) such that a lateral gap (26) is arranged between walls of the container and walls of the food basket (22), and such that a bottom gap (32) is arranged between the bottom part of the container and said air-permeable bottom part (24). The apparatus (10) further comprises an upper lid device (34) arranged on top of the container (20). The upper lid device comprises a system (36) with primary heating means (38) and air ventilation means (40) for generating a flow of hot air in the lateral gap (26), in the bottom gap (32), and in the food basket (22). The gearing system (16) is adapted to provide a relative rotational movement at least between food arranged in the food basket and the flow of hot air in the food basket (22). This invention allows enhancing possibilities for the food preparation.

This invention relates to thermally conductive liquid crystalline polymer compositions. The composition is comprised of a liquid crystalline polymer and metal particles. At least about 90% by weight of the metal particles have an average particle size larger than 200 μm. In other embodiments of the invention, the average particle size of the metal particles is larger than 420 μm. Aluminum flakes are exemplary metal particles for use in this invention. The thermally conductive liquid crystalline polymer composition is useful for the manufacture of cookware and has sufficient thermal conductivity to provide browning during cooking. The composition is useful for the manufacture of oven cookware such as cooking pans, sheets, trays, dishes, casseroles, and the like.

Enclosed rotisserie with added convenience, including a countertop resting box-like enclosure housing a safety rear mounted heating element and a power rotated dual rod spit assembly. The gear driven spit assembly may be easily inserted and removed straight into and out of the enclosure without need for angling or coupling the assembly to a power drive socket. The oven includes a controller configured to increase the thermal output of a heating element in anticipation of the upcoming decrease in the internal temperature. In some embodiments, the oven is a conveyor over and the sensor is positioned to detect a food item approach the tunnel on a conveyor. In some embodiments, the amount of current provided to an electric heating element is increased by increasing the target temperature. In some embodiments, the amount of current provided to the electric heating element is increased by a predetermined offset.

An expandable rack for foodstuffs or other articles for temporary use after baking or cooking to allow the foodstuff to cool. The expandable rack consists of a plurality of tiers or layers which are slidably arranged with respect to one another such that the entire rack may be slid together to form a compact size for storage. A first layer or tier consists of a plurality of spaced, longitudinally extending rods surrounded by a continuous, formed member, to substantially provide a rectangular shape and having downwardly depending legs to elevate the same above a support surface. Each of the additional layers employs the same construction but is of reduced size to permit all layers to be slid together in underlying relation to the first layer. The structure for retaining the tiers or layers to one another and allow sliding therebetween is incorporated into each of the tiers and each tier has support legs.
