Portable high speed internet access device with encryption

The invention discloses a portable remote device that allows the user to access the Internet and World Wide Web. The portable device connects to a cellular telephone, thus providing wireless connection to the internet via a host computer which runs a browser, that takes information received from the Internet or other sources and renders it onto a virtual display in its memory. This information is directed to software, which reduces the color depth of the information to a lower depth color image. This reduced image is then compressed and encrypted by another software and sent to the portable device of the invention, which decrypts and decompresses it for displaying to the user. The browser may also reduces the color depth and compress the image without need for further software. Thus, the user views a bit map or raster image of a Web page, which is stored into memory. The portable device further comprises methods of pointing and clicking on text and images which represent links to other pages. Web pages with links may also be sent to the portable device, which stores them into memory to facilitate off-line viewing from the memory of the device. The user may also select desired links to each web page. Email messages may be retrieved manually or automatically at programmed times. Video frames and sound files may also be displayed on the portable device, with the aid of a buffer memory to facilitate uninterrupted playback.

Method and system for selling and/ or distributing digital audio files

The advent of audio compression algorithms in combination with high-speed Internet access has enabled consumers to download digital audio files such as music single tracks from the Internet within seconds to minutes. Whereas legitimate service providers offer music files for download on payment, many consumers download music files illegally at no direct cost by using file sharing or similar services. This leads to a potential loss in revenues for the creators, owners, sellers, and / or distributors of digital audio content. The present invention relates to a method and system for selling and / or distributing digital audio files comprising at least one advertisement message part in addition to at least one music entertainment part. By incorporating an advertisement message part, digital audio files can be sold at a lower price due to additional advertising revenues, which in turn will induce more consumers to legally purchase digital audio files, thus potentially increasing overall revenues for the creators, owners, sellers, and / or distributors of digital audio content.

Codeless device pairing between mobile device and particular one of a plurality of media devices

A media server receives a request from an unpaired mobile device, queries a login database to determine whether the mobile device is logged in for high speed Internet access, and, when yes, identifies a particular guest area of the hospitality establishment according to details in its login record. One of the media devices accessible from within the particular guest area is selected and paired with the mobile device without requiring a user of the mobile device to input into the mobile device a connect code of the selected media device. In another example, a user initiates a codeless pairing mode on a particular one of the media devices and begins interacting with the media server utilizing an unpaired mobile device. Since, only one media device can be in that mode at a time, the media server pairs the newly detected unpaired mobile device with the particular media device.

Multi-mode controller

Techniques for controlling and managing network access are used to enable a wireless communication device to selectively communicate with several wireless networks. A portable communication device constructed according to the invention can communicate with different networks as the device is moved through the areas of coverage supported by the different networks. As a result, the device can take advantage of services provided by a particular network when the device is within the area of coverage provided by that network. Thus, the device can selectively switch to networks that provide, for example, high speed Internet access, different quality of service, low cost service and / or different services (e.g., voice, data, multimedia, etc.). A multi-mode controller in the device may be used to alternately poll different networks to determine whether the device is within the area of coverage of a network and to selectively establish communications with those networks.

Portable high speed internet access device

The invention discloses a portable device providing access to the Internet. A host computer runs a browser taking information received from the Internet, renders it onto a virtual display in memory, reduces the color depth, compress and sends it to the device. Thus, the user views a bit map or raster image of a Web page on the device, which also contains a browser software program, that runs on the device containing its own window. This window contains buttons or icons providing web functions and implements scrolling on the web page received with respect to the window. The windows of the browsers in the host computer and device are adjustable in size and may be set to match for text formatting. The size of the web page received from the Internet is the size sent to the device when converted to an image, which varies with each web page received.

Disclosed is an electronic quantity purchasing system which is a host computer that a user may access to purchase quantities of goods or services at a locked-in price for later redemption. The preferred communication means employed is via secure, high-speed Internet access. Data storage is electronic. Users employ the system to make an instant purchase of a small or large quantity of a commodity, such as gasoline at the current purchase price. Users can redeem all or part of their balance for real product at a physical location in the future when desired. The redemption will draw down the user's account balance at the locked-in purchase price, so the user is able to circumvent the market price in effect at the time of redemption.

The invention discloses a portable remote device that connects wirelessly to the internet or other sources via a host computer which runs a browser, taking information received and renders it onto a virtual display in memory. This information is directed to software which reduces the color depth, compresses and sends it to the portable device, which decompresses and stores it into memory for displaying. The information captured and sent to the remote device is limited to the size of the browser's window, which may be considerably smaller than the image in the virtual display. The browser automatically scrolls to other parts of the image to capture it entirely, sending segments simultaneously to other software responsible for color depth reduction and compression, whilst it scrolls to other segments. The host computer keeps a record of credit card details for each user on file, hence there is no encryption required between the host and remote device, as the host automatically inserts credit card details from its database in the appropriate location for each credit card purchase over the Internet.

The invention discloses a 5G independent networking terminal registration method and system, a terminal and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps: when a 5G network is registered, if a network end does not support VORR and EPS fallback, after the network end refuses to register the 5G network, 4G network registration is initiated in LTE; when the data service is initiated, a 5G network registration request is re-initiated to the network end, the registration request carries priority information, and PDN connection is initiated to the network end; and after the data service is finished, initiating a 4G network registration request in the LTE again, and switching the 5G network to the 4G network to perform the voice service. According to the invention, after the 5G independent networking registration of the terminal is rejected, when the data service exists, the registration request is initiated on the 5G network again, so that the problems that the terminal can only reside in the 4G network, and the terminal cannot reside in the 5G network, so that the 5G data service cannot be acquired and the 5G high-speed internet cannot be enjoyed are solved, the terminal can preferentially access the 5G NR network, and the user experience is improved. Therefore, the terminal can use the data service of the 5G network.
