DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0013] As an embodiment of the present disclosure, a technology for supporting the selection of a product that matches the user's sensibility and taste will be described. The support system of this embodiment conducts a questionnaire including questions asking about the user's impressions and tastes regarding objects, spaces, words, etc., and automatically selects (selects) products that match the user's sensibility that is quantified based on the user's answers to the questionnaire, and presents them to the user. This allows the user to find a product that matches his or her sensibility and taste from among many products by simply answering a simple questionnaire. Furthermore, according to the support system of this embodiment, when a user purchases a house, remodels or renovates a living space, or simultaneously purchases multiple products to be placed in the living space, a living space with high sensibility value suitable for the user can be provided by suggesting multiple products that match the user's sensibility and taste.
[0014] 1 shows a configuration of a support system 10 according to an embodiment. The support system 10 includes a sensibility information analysis device 100 that collects and analyzes information related to a user's sensibility, a product purchase support device 200 that supports the user in selecting a product that matches the user's sensibility or preference based on the analysis result by the sensibility information analysis device 100, a user terminal 300 used by the user, a product information providing device 400 that provides information related to products, and the Internet 20 that is an example of a communication means connecting them.
[0015] The sentiment information analysis device 100 conducts a questionnaire to collect information on user sentiment and collects responses to the questionnaire from a plurality of users. The sentiment information analysis device 100 analyzes the collected responses to generate selection criteria for selecting products that match the user's sensibilities or preferences based on the responses to the questionnaire. The sentiment information analysis device 100 provides the generated selection criteria to the product purchase support device 200.
[0016] The product purchase support device 200 conducts a questionnaire to obtain information regarding the user's sensibilities, and obtains responses to the questionnaire from the user terminal 300. Based on the selection criteria obtained from the sensibility information analysis device 100, the product purchase support device 200 selects products or spaces in which products are installed that match the user's sensibilities or preferences from the obtained responses, and presents them to the user terminal 300.
[0017] The product information providing device 400 provides the user terminal 300 with information related to products presented to the user terminal 300 from the product purchase support device 200. The product information providing device 400 may be configured as a web server, and may provide the product information to the user terminal 300 via a web page.
[0018] 2 shows functional blocks of the sensibility information analysis device 100 according to the embodiment. In terms of hardware, each block can be realized by elements and circuits such as a CPU and memory, and in terms of software, each block can be realized by a computer program or the like. Here, functional blocks realized by cooperation between them are depicted. These functional blocks can be realized in various forms by combining hardware and software. The same applies to the subsequent block diagrams.
[0019] The sensibility information analysis device 100 includes a communication unit 102, a control unit 110, and a storage device 150. The communication unit 102 controls communication with other devices via the Internet 20. The communication unit 102 may communicate with other devices using any wired or wireless communication technology.
[0020] The storage device 150 includes a questionnaire storage unit 151 , an answer storage unit 152 , and a user database 153 .
[0021] The questionnaire storage unit 151 stores questionnaire data. The questionnaire includes a plurality of questions, each of which includes a plurality of answer options. Each option is assigned a score of a physical adjective describing the state or impression of an object, or a sentiment word expressing human sensibility. The answer storage unit 152 stores user answers to the questionnaire. The user database 153 stores information about users who have answered the questionnaire. The user database 153 may store attribute information such as the user's age, sex, occupation, hobbies, family structure, and place of residence.
[0022] FIG. 3 shows examples of physical adjectives and affective words. Physical adjectives are adjectives and adjectival verbs that describe the state or impression of an object, such as "bright," "glossy," and "warm." Affective words are adjectives and adjectival verbs that are evoked by humans in response to emotions evoked by events in the external world. Affective words are classified into multiple hierarchies. Lower-level kansei express the characteristics and tendencies of human sensations, perceptions, and their recognition and interpretation, such as "closeness," "comfortable," and "urban." Higher-level kansei functions as a result of integrating multiple lower-level kansei, such as "extraordinary."
[0023] Low-level sensitivities are sensitivities that many people can commonly evoke for a certain object, although to varying degrees, and are relatively easy to quantify by questionnaires, etc. In contrast, high-level sensitivities are sensitivities that can vary greatly depending on the person and the timing, as they are strongly influenced by background knowledge and awareness of various peripheral situations, and are difficult to quantify. For example, many people are thought to evoke sensitivities such as "urban," "refined," and "elegant" for a bathroom in a luxury hotel, and sensitivities such as "intimacy," "comfortable," and "natural" for a bathroom in a rustic inn. However, the degree to which the user places importance on the values expressed by the former low-level sensitivities and the latter low-level sensitivities varies from person to person, so it is difficult to ask the user directly about "specialness" and have them quantify it. In addition, there are cases where the user himself does not know which one he feels is "special."
[0024] In this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 3, in order to quantify higher-order sensitivities, a questionnaire is conducted including answer choices to which scores of sensitivities words expressing a plurality of lower-order sensitivities constituting the higher-order sensitivities are assigned. This makes it possible to quantify and grasp the higher-order sensitivities of a user, and therefore to accurately select products and spaces that match the sensitivities and tastes of the user. In addition, the user only needs to answer an easy-to-answer questionnaire to be presented with products and spaces that match his or her sensitivities and tastes, thereby improving user convenience.
[0025] 4(a), (b), and (c) show examples of a questionnaire conducted by the sensitivity information analysis device 100. FIG. 4(a) shows a question that presents an image of a living space and asks about the impression of the image. Five answer options are given for low-level sensitivity words such as "close" and "comfortable" and physical adjectives such as "bright" and "warm", ranging from "not at all" to "very much". The answers to these questions reflect the differences in each user's impression of the same living space image. The answer options may be given in any number of stages, such as two stages or seven stages.
[0026] Figure 4(b) shows a question that asks for the image of a desired product by presenting multiple words. Low-level affective words such as "close" and "comfortable" and physical adjectives such as "bright" and "warm" are given as answer options, and users can select up to the top three. The answer to this question reflects the sensitivities and impressions that users consider important when selecting a product.
[0027] FIG. 4(c) shows a question in which a plurality of watches are presented and the user is asked which watch matches the user's preference. Each of the plurality of watches is assigned a score for low-level affective words and physical adjectives. For example, a luxury brand watch is assigned high scores for "sophisticated" and "elegant" and low scores for "close-minded" and "uneven". By providing options for products in categories that are not directly related to the target product the user is trying to purchase but that are likely to reflect the user's sensitivities and preferences, the user can easily answer the question and can obtain an answer that more strongly reflects the user's sensitivities and preferences. The products to be provided as options may be products that are often used by the user in daily life. For example, the options may be clothing, accessories, daily necessities, etc. The options may also be products that are placed in the living space. For example, the options may be curtains, carpets, decorative items, etc. The options may also be images of the living space or building materials such as interior materials. The options may not be the products themselves, but may be abstract expressions that are not directly related to the target product, such as colors and patterns.
[0028] Returning to FIG. 2, the control unit 110 includes a questionnaire presenting unit 111, a response collecting unit 112, a response analyzing unit 113, a selection criterion generating unit 114, and a selection criterion providing unit 115.
[0029] The questionnaire presenting unit 111 presents the questionnaire read out from the questionnaire storage unit 151 to the user terminal 300. The answer collecting unit 112 collects answers to the questionnaire sent from the user terminal 300 and stores them in the answer storing unit 152.
[0030] The answer analysis unit 113 analyzes the answers stored in the answer storage unit 152. The answer analysis unit 113 may, for example, extract common factors by performing factor analysis on the answers quantified by scores, and calculate the factor scores of the extracted common factors for each cluster of users, thereby grasping the tendency of sensibility and preference for each cluster. For example, as a "sense of specialness," users may be classified into cluster A that emphasizes "unusual," cluster B that emphasizes "elegance," and cluster C that emphasizes "comfort." The answer analysis unit 113 may analyze the answers by statistical processing such as regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, principal component analysis, classification, clustering, and dimension reduction, or machine learning.
[0031] The selection criteria generation unit 114 generates selection criteria for selecting a product or space that matches the user's sensibility or taste from the user's answer to the questionnaire based on the analysis result by the answer analysis unit 113. The selection criteria may include calculation criteria for quantifying the user's sensibility from the answer to the questionnaire. The calculation criteria may be a mathematical formula for quantifying the user's sensibility based on the score assigned to the option answered by the user. The selection criteria may include criteria for determining which of a plurality of categories classified by taste tendencies the user belongs to and selecting a product according to the determined category. The selection criteria may include criteria for calculating the similarity between the quantified user's sensibility and the score assigned to the product or space and selecting a product with a high calculated similarity.
[0032] Selection criteria providing unit 115 provides the selection criteria generated by selection criteria generating unit 114 to product purchase support device 200 via Internet 20.
