Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] TECHNICAL FIELD This application relates to the field of battery technology, and in particular to battery cells, batteries, power consuming devices, and methods and apparatus for manufacturing battery cells. [Background technology]
[0002] In the midst of the trend toward energy conservation and reducing pollutant emissions, batteries are widely used in the new energy field, such as electric vehicles and new energy vehicles, and electric vehicles have become an important part of the sustainable development of the automotive industry.
[0003] In the development of battery technology, the safety performance and service life of a battery are factors that cannot be ignored. If a battery leaks during use, it often has a significant negative impact on the safety performance and service life of the battery. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] The present application aims to provide a battery cell, a battery, a power consumption device, and a method and apparatus for manufacturing a battery cell, which can mitigate the problem of battery leakage and improve the safety performance and service life of the battery. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] According to a first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery cell, the battery cell comprising: a case having a first opening; an electrode assembly disposed within the case; an end cap assembly including an end cap, a pressure relief mechanism, and a first insulating member, wherein the end cap covers the first opening, the pressure relief mechanism is provided in the end cap, and the pressure relief mechanism is configured to activate to release the internal pressure of the battery cell when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a threshold value, the first insulating member is located on a side of the end cap closer to the electrode assembly so as to isolate the electrode assembly and the end cap, and the first insulating member is configured so that a projection onto the end cap along the thickness direction of the end cap covers the pressure relief mechanism to protect the pressure relief mechanism.
[0006] In the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, a pressure relief mechanism is installed in the battery cell. When the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a set threshold, the pressure relief mechanism is activated to release the internal pressure or temperature, thereby ensuring the safety of the battery cell; when the electrolyte inside the battery cell is shaken due to an impact, a fall from a high place, etc., the pressure relief mechanism is completely shielded by the first insulating member, thereby preventing the pressure relief mechanism from opening or bursting due to the impact of the electrolyte being shaken, thereby improving the service life of the battery cell.
[0007] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the pressure relief mechanism and the first insulating member have a first gap in a thickness direction of the end cap, and the battery cell further includes a flow path configured to communicate the inside of the battery cell with the first gap.
[0008] When the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a threshold value, the pressure relief mechanism is activated by the pressure action, and the gas inside the battery cell passes through a flow path to the first gap and is released through the pressure relief mechanism, thereby reducing leakage from the battery cell, ensuring the function of the pressure relief mechanism, and improving the safety of the battery cell.
[0009] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the flow path includes a second opening provided in the first insulating member, the second opening being configured such that its projection onto the end cap along a thickness direction of the end cap is offset from the pressure relief mechanism.
[0010] The second opening in the first insulating member allows exhaust materials inside the battery cell to smoothly escape from the pressure relief mechanism, and because the second opening in the first insulating member is offset from the pressure relief mechanism, it is possible to effectively prevent impact of the electrolyte on the pressure relief mechanism when the electrolyte vibrates inside the case due to an impact or drop of the battery. Even if the electrolyte flows into the first gap from the second opening, the impact force acts mainly on the end cap, and the pressure relief mechanism is not subjected to a direct impact force.
[0011] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the second opening is located at an outer periphery of the first insulating member.
[0012] When the second opening is located at the outer peripheral edge of the first insulating member, the electrode assembly is less likely to block the second opening than when the electrode assembly is installed at a central position of the first insulating member, thereby ensuring smooth escape of exhaust gases and improving the safety of the battery.
[0013] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the first insulating member includes a base wall and a side wall, the base wall is disposed opposite the end cap, the first gap is formed between the base wall and the end cap, the side wall is disposed around an outer periphery of the base wall, and the second opening is provided in the side wall.
[0014] The side wall is provided around the outer periphery of the base wall to improve the structural strength of the base wall and make the base wall less susceptible to bending and deformation, and the second opening is provided in the side wall to further prevent the second opening from being blocked, and the second opening communicates with the inside of the battery cell and the first gap to ensure that waste can escape smoothly, thereby ensuring the safety of the battery cell. Optionally, in one embodiment of the present application, the side wall has a first end close to the end cap and a second end away from the end cap, and the second opening is a recessed groove in the side wall recessed from the first end toward the second end.
[0015] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the first end protrudes from the base wall, and a depth of the groove is less than a height at which the first end protrudes from the base wall.
[0016] Since the depth of the groove is smaller than the height of the first end protruding from the base wall, the side wall can still maintain a state of surrounding the base wall even when having a second opening, thereby ensuring the structural strength of the base wall and making the base wall less likely to deform.
[0017] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the first end abuts the end cap and the second end abuts the electrode assembly.
[0018] The end cap presses the electrode assembly by the first insulating member, limits the electrode assembly in the axial direction, and prevents the electrode assembly from shaking in the axial direction. an electrode terminal fixed to the end cap; An adapter including a first connection part, a second connection part, and a third connection part which are stacked in order, the first connection part is for connecting to the electrode assembly, the third connection part is for connecting to the electrode terminal, and the second connection part is for connecting to the first connection part and the 3 and an adapter for connecting the connection portion of the the base wall includes a first base portion and a second base portion, a step is formed between the first base portion and the second base portion, the first base portion abuts against the third connection portion, and the second base portion abuts against the second connection portion; The sidewall includes a first portion and a second portion, the first portion is connected to an outer periphery of the first base portion, the second portion is connected to an outer periphery of the second base portion, and the second opening is provided in the second portion.
[0019] The first connection part, the second connection part and the third connection part of the adapter are stacked in order, where the second connection part and the third connection part form a stepped structure to ensure more space at the corresponding position of the pressure relief mechanism, whereas the base wall is formed with a step to not only press the adapter, but also to increase the first gap at the corresponding position of the second base part. With the above arrangement, the first gap can be set as large as possible without increasing the overall thickness of the end cap assembly, so that the exhaust speed can be as high as possible when pressure needs to be released, and the safety of the battery cell can be improved.
[0020] And since the second opening is located in the second portion and the first gap is relatively increased here, the discharged matter in the flow path can quickly enter the first gap and then quickly escape, thereby achieving the effect of improving the safety of the battery cell.
[0021] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, a circular angle corresponding to a projection of the second opening onto the end cap along a thickness direction of the end cap at least partially overlaps with a circular angle corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism.
[0022] In the above technical solution, the second opening is close to the pressure relief mechanism, so that the discharged material can reach and be released quickly to the pressure relief mechanism, thereby improving the response speed of the pressure relief mechanism.
[0023] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, a first positioning portion is provided on the end cap and a second positioning portion is provided on the base wall, and the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion engage with each other to realize circumferential positioning of the end cap and the first insulating member.
[0024] The end cap and the first insulating member are engaged with each other by the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion, which not only enables quick and accurate assembly of the end cap and the first insulating member, but also limits the relative positions of the end cap and the first insulating member in the circumferential direction, ensures that the second opening and the pressure relief mechanism maintain their relative positional relationship, and ensures the safety and structural stability of the battery cell.
[0025] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, an area of the second opening is equal to or greater than half an area of the pressure relief mechanism.
[0026] By setting the area of the second opening to be at least half the area of the pressure relief mechanism, the problem of the area of the second opening being too small thereby hindering normal operation of the pressure relief mechanism can be avoided, and the safety of the battery cell can be ensured by ensuring that the first gap position reaches the valve opening pressure value at least when the internal pressure of the battery cell reaches the limit pressure value.
[0027] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the flow path includes a second gap formed between an outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member and an inner wall of the case, and the second gap is configured such that its projection onto the end cap along the thickness direction of the end cap is offset from the pressure relief mechanism.
[0028] The second gap is for directly communicating with the first gap, or the second gap is for communicating with the second gap through a second opening, thereby satisfying the need to release pressure by the pressure relief mechanism, and at the same time, by offsetting the second gap from the pressure relief mechanism, the purpose of preventing impact of the electrolyte on the pressure relief mechanism is achieved.
[0029] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, the minimum ventilation area of the second gap is equal to or greater than half the area of the pressure relief mechanism.
[0030] When the minimum ventilation area of the second gap is half or more of that of the pressure relief mechanism, the problem that the ventilation area of the second gap is too small and the pressure relief mechanism cannot operate normally can be effectively avoided, and the safety of the battery cell can be ensured by ensuring that the first gap position reaches the valve opening pressure value at least when the internal pressure of the battery cell reaches the limit pressure value.
[0031] In one embodiment of the present application, optionally, at least a portion of the outer circumferential surface of the first insulating member is beveled, whereby the width of the second gap gradually increases along a direction away from the end cap.
[0032] Because the first insulating member is inclined at least at the second gap position, it is possible to concentrate gas in the second gap and facilitate its escape by entering the first gap, and it is possible to avoid a situation in which the second gap is blocked due to interference between the first insulating member and the inner wall of the case due to manufacturing tolerances, and it is also possible to reduce a situation in which the end cap assembly interferes with the inner wall of the case when assembled to the second opening of the case.
[0033] According to a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery, the battery including the battery cell described above.
[0034] In the battery according to this embodiment, each battery cell has its own pressure relief mechanism to ensure safety, and even if each battery cell is subjected to impact or dropped, the pressure relief mechanism is unlikely to be damaged, so the battery as a whole has good durability and excellent safety performance.
[0035] According to a third aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a power consuming device, the power consuming device comprising a battery as described above for providing electrical energy.
[0036] The power consumption device of this embodiment is equipped with a battery that has excellent drop resistance, durability, and safety performance, and the power supply from the battery is highly reliable, so the power consumption device operates stably, is highly safe, and has excellent durability.
[0037] According to a fourth aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for manufacturing a battery cell, the method comprising: providing a case having a first opening; Providing an electrode assembly; An end cap assembly including an end cap, a pressure relief mechanism, and a first insulating member, the pressure relief mechanism being provided in the end cap, the pressure relief mechanism being configured to be activated to release the internal pressure of the battery cell when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a threshold value, the first insulating member being located on one side of the end cap, and the first insulating member being configured such that a projection of the first insulating member onto the end cap along a thickness direction of the end cap covers the pressure relief mechanism to protect the pressure relief mechanism; and placing the electrode assembly in the case, covering the first opening with the end cap, and positioning the first insulating member on a side of the end cap closer to the electrode assembly so as to isolate the electrode assembly from the end cap.
[0038] According to a fifth aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides an apparatus for manufacturing a battery cell, the apparatus comprising: a first providing device for providing a case having a first opening; a second delivery device for delivering the electrode assembly; and a third providing device for providing an end cap assembly including an end cap, a pressure relief mechanism, and a first insulating member, the pressure relief mechanism being provided in the end cap, the pressure relief mechanism being configured to be activated to release the internal pressure of the battery cell when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a threshold value, the first insulating member being located on one side of the end cap, and the first insulating member being configured such that a projection of the first insulating member onto the end cap along a thickness direction of the end cap covers the pressure relief mechanism to protect the pressure relief mechanism; and an assembly device for placing the electrode assembly in the case and positioning the first insulating member on a side of the end cap closer to the electrode assembly so as to cover the first opening with the end cap, thereby isolating the electrode assembly and the end cap.

[0049] As used herein, "plurality" means two or more (including two). Similarly, "groups" means two or more (including two groups), and "multiple sheets" means two or more (including two sheets).
[0050] In the present application, the battery cell may include a lithium ion secondary battery, a lithium ion primary battery, a lithium sulfur battery, a sodium lithium ion battery, a sodium ion battery, or a magnesium ion battery, but is not limited thereto in the embodiments of the present application. The battery cell may be cylindrical, flat, rectangular, or have other shapes, but is not limited thereto in the embodiments of the present application. Depending on the form of packaging, the battery cell is generally divided into three types: a cylindrical battery cell, a rectangular parallelepiped battery cell, and a pouch battery cell, but is not limited thereto in the embodiments of the present application.
[0051] The battery referred to in the embodiments of this application refers to a single physical module that includes one or more battery cells to provide higher voltage and capacity. For example, the battery referred to in this application may include a battery module or a battery pack. The battery generally includes a housing for packaging one or more battery cells. The housing can prevent liquids or other foreign objects from affecting the charging or discharging of the battery cells.
[0052] The battery cell includes an electrode assembly and an electrolyte, and the electrode assembly is composed of a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator. The battery cell is mainly operated by the movement of metal ions between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. The positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode active material layer, and the positive electrode active material layer is applied to the surface of the positive electrode collector, and the current collector on which the positive electrode active material layer is not applied protrudes from the current collector on which the positive electrode active material layer is applied, and the current collector on which the positive electrode active material layer is not applied is a positive electrode tab. Taking a lithium ion battery as an example, the material of the positive electrode collector may be aluminum, and the positive electrode active material may be lithium cobalt oxide, lithium iron phosphate, ternary lithium, or lithium manganate, etc. The negative electrode plate includes a negative electrode collector and a negative electrode active material layer, the negative electrode active material layer is applied to the surface of the negative electrode collector, the current collector on which the negative electrode active material layer is not applied protrudes from the current collector on which the negative electrode active material layer is applied, and the current collector on which the negative electrode active material layer is not applied is called a negative electrode tab. The material of the negative electrode collector may be copper, and the negative electrode active material may be carbon or silicon, etc. In order to prevent melting even when a large current is applied, the number of positive electrode tabs is stacked in a plurality, and the number of negative electrode tabs is stacked in a plurality. The material of the separator may be PP or PE, etc. In addition, the electrode assembly may be a wound type structure or a stacked type structure, and the embodiments of the present application are not limited thereto. The development of battery technology requires simultaneous consideration of a wide range of design factors, such as performance parameters such as energy density, cycle life, discharge capacity, and charge / discharge rate, and also requires consideration of the safety of the battery.
[0053] For battery cells, the main safety risk comes from the charging and discharging process, so appropriate environmental temperature design is required. In order to effectively avoid unnecessary losses, there are generally at least three protection measures for battery cells. Specifically, the protection measures include at least a switch element, the selection of a suitable separator material, and a pressure relief mechanism. The switch element is an element that can stop charging or discharging the battery when the temperature or resistance inside the battery cell reaches a certain threshold. The separator is for isolating the positive and negative plates, and can automatically dissolve and remove the micropores on the order of microns (or even nanometers) attached to it when heated to a certain temperature, so that metal ions cannot pass through the separator and the internal reaction of the battery cell is terminated.
[0054] The pressure relief mechanism is an element or member that operates to release the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a predetermined threshold. The design of this threshold varies according to design needs. The threshold may be determined by one or more of the materials of the positive plate, the negative plate, the electrolyte, and the separator in the battery cell.
[0055] The term "operation" referred to in this application refers to the pressure relief mechanism being activated or being activated to a certain state, thereby releasing the internal pressure and temperature of the battery cell. The operation of the pressure relief mechanism may include, but is not limited to, at least a part of the pressure relief mechanism being ruptured, crushed, broken, or opened. When the pressure relief mechanism is activated, the high temperature and high pressure material inside the battery cell is discharged as a discharge from the activated part. In this manner, if the pressure or temperature is controllable, the pressure of the battery cell can be released, thereby avoiding the occurrence of a potentially more serious accident.
[0056] Exhaust from battery cells referred to in this application includes, but is not limited to, electrolyte, melted or split positive and negative plates, separator fragments, high temperature and pressure gases produced by reactions, flames, etc.
[0057] The pressure relief mechanism in a battery cell has an important impact on the safety of the battery. For example, when a phenomenon such as a short circuit or overcharging occurs, thermal runaway may occur inside the battery cell, causing a sudden rise in pressure or temperature. In such a case, the pressure relief mechanism operates to release the internal pressure or temperature to the outside, preventing the battery cell from exploding or catching fire.
[0058] The pressure relief mechanism may take the form of an explosion-proof valve, an air valve, a pressure relief valve, a safety valve, etc., and may specifically be a pressure- or temperature-sensitive element or structure, i.e., when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a predetermined threshold, the pressure relief mechanism performs an operation or a fragile structure provided in the pressure relief mechanism bursts, thereby forming a through hole or passage for releasing the internal pressure or temperature.
[0059] During use, the battery cell may leak electrolyte. When electrolyte leakage occurs in the battery cell, it means that the battery cell cannot operate normally, which affects the life of the battery cell. According to the inventor's research, the location of electrolyte leakage always appears at the pressure relief mechanism, and even if the battery cell does not have abnormal gas generation or high temperature problems, electrolyte leakage may occur at the pressure relief mechanism. After the electrolyte leakage occurs, the inventor replaced the pressure relief mechanism with a higher quality one, but the leakage problem has not been solved. Therefore, according to the inventor's further research, when the battery cell is impacted or dropped, the electrolyte shakes inside the battery cell and impacts the pressure relief mechanism, which leads to the opening, damage or cracking of the pressure relief mechanism, which causes electrolyte leakage. Even if the electrolyte impacts the pressure relief mechanism but no obvious destruction occurs in the pressure relief mechanism, and only cracks that are difficult to observe occur, the structural strength of the pressure relief mechanism will be reduced, and in the subsequent use process, the internal pressure of the battery cell may be within the normal range, but the pressure relief mechanism may operate abnormally, which reduces the safety and service life of the battery cell.
[0060] In view of this, in order to improve the safety and service life of the battery cell, the embodiments of the present application provide a technical solution in which a protective structure is installed at a position corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism of the battery cell to shield the pressure relief mechanism. When the electrolyte inside the battery cell is stirred, the protective structure blocks the impulse toward the pressure relief mechanism, thereby preventing damage to the pressure relief mechanism and further resolving the problem of the reduction in safety and service life of the battery cell caused by electrolyte leakage.
[0061] The technical solutions described in the embodiments of the present application can be applied to various devices that use batteries, such as mobile phones, handheld devices, laptops, electric scooters, electric toys, electric tools, electric vehicles, ships, and spacecraft, including, for example, airplanes, rockets, space shuttles, and spaceships.
[0062] It should be understood that the technical solutions described in the embodiments of the present application are not only applicable to the devices described above, but also to all devices that use batteries. For the sake of simplicity, however, the following embodiments will be described using an electric vehicle as an example.
[0063] For example, as shown in FIG. 1, a vehicle 1 according to an embodiment of the present application, the vehicle 1 may be a fuel oil vehicle, a gas vehicle or a new energy vehicle, and the new energy vehicle may be a pure electric vehicle, a hybrid vehicle or a range extender vehicle, etc. A motor 2, a controller 3 and a battery 4 may be installed inside the vehicle 1, and the controller 3 is for controlling the battery 4 to supply power to the motor 2. For example, the battery 4 may be installed at the bottom, front or rear of the vehicle 1. The battery 4 can be used to supply power to the vehicle 1. For example, the battery 4 can be used as an operating power source for the vehicle 1 for the electric circuit system of the vehicle 1, for example, for the operating power demand during starting, navigation and running of the vehicle 1. In another embodiment of the present application, the battery 4 can not only be used as an operating power source for the vehicle 1, but also as a driving power source for the vehicle 1, to provide driving power to the vehicle 1 instead of fuel oil or natural gas, or instead of a part thereof.
[0064] In order to meet different power usage demands, the battery 4 may include multiple battery cells, where the multiple battery cells may be connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel, and the series-parallel connection refers to a mixture of the series and parallel connections. The battery 4 may be called a battery pack. Optionally, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, multiple battery cells may first be connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel to form a battery module 41, and then multiple battery modules 41 may be connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel to form the battery 4. That is, the multiple battery cells may directly form the battery 4, or the battery module 41 may be first formed into the battery 4.
[0065] The battery 4 may include a plurality of battery cells. The battery 4 may further include a housing 42 (or called a cover), the inside of the housing 42 having a hollow structure, and the plurality of battery cells are housed in the housing 42. The housing 42 may include two parts for housing (see FIG. 2), which are called a lid body 43 and a lower housing 44, respectively, and the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 are engaged together. The shapes of the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 may be determined according to the shape of the combination of the plurality of battery cells, and each of the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 may have one opening. For example, the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 may both be hollow rectangular parallelepipeds, and only one surface of each of them is an opening surface, and the opening of the lid body 43 and the opening of the lower housing 44 are installed opposite to each other, and the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 are engaged with each other to form the housing 42 having a sealed cavity. One of the lid body 43 and the lower housing 44 may be a rectangular parallelepiped with an opening, and the other may be a cover plate structure so as to seal the opening of the rectangular parallelepiped. The battery cells are combined by being connected in parallel, in series, or in series-parallel, and then placed in a housing 42 formed by engaging a cover 43 and a lower housing 44.
[0066] Optionally, the battery 4 may further include other structures. For example, the battery 4 may further include a bus bar member for realizing an electrical connection between the multiple battery cells 45, for example, a parallel connection, a series connection, or a series-parallel connection. Specifically, the bus bar member can be connected to the electrode terminals of the battery cells 45 to realize the electrical connection between the battery cells 45. Furthermore, the bus bar member may be fixed to the electrode terminals of the battery cells 45 by welding. The electrical energy of the multiple battery cells 45 can further be extracted through the housing 42 by a conductive mechanism. Optionally, the conductive mechanism may belong to the bus bar member.
[0067] Hereinafter, any one of the battery cells 45 will be described in detail. FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 show a battery cell 45 according to an embodiment of the present application, and the battery cell 45 includes a case 100, an end cap assembly 300, and one or more electrode assemblies 200. The case 100 is determined according to the shape after assembling one or more electrode assemblies 200. For example, the case 100 may be a hollow rectangular parallelepiped, cube, or cylinder, and one surface of the case 100 has an opening so that one or more electrode assemblies 200 can be placed in the case 100. For ease of description, the opening will be referred to as a first opening 110 below. For example, when the case 100 is a hollow rectangular parallelepiped or cube, one plane of the case 100 is a plane having the first opening 110, and the plane does not have a wall and is configured to communicate between the inside and outside of the case 100. In the case where the case 100 may be a hollow cylinder, the end surface of the case 100 is a plane having a first opening 110, i.e., the end surface does not have a wall and is configured to communicate between the inside and the outside of the case 100. The end cap assembly 300 covers the first opening 110 and is connected to the case 100 to form a sealed cavity for placing the electrode assembly 200, and the sealed cavity is filled with an electrolyte, for example, an electrolyte solution.
[0068] The end cap assembly 300 includes an end cap 310 and a pressure relief mechanism 320. The end cap 310 is for covering the first opening 110 of the case 100 and connecting to the case 100. The pressure relief mechanism 320 is installed in the end cap 310. When the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell 45 reaches a predetermined threshold, the pressure relief mechanism 320 performs an operation or a fragile structure provided in the pressure relief mechanism 320 is ruptured to release the internal pressure of the sealed cavity.
[0069] The battery cell 45 further includes one or more electrode terminals 400, which may be installed in the end cap 310. The end cap 310 generally has a flat plate shape, and the electrode terminals 400 are fixed to the flat surface of the end cap 310. A connecting part, which may be called an adapter 500, is connected to the electrode terminals 400, which is located between the end cap 310 and the electrode assembly 200 and serves to realize an electrical connection between the electrode assembly 200 and the electrode terminals 400.
[0070] Each electrode assembly 200 has a first tab and a second tab. The first tab and the second tab have opposite polarities. For example, if the first tab is a positive tab, the second tab is a negative tab. The first tab of one or more electrode assemblies is connected to one electrode terminal, e.g., a positive electrode terminal, through one adapter, and the second tab of one or more electrode assemblies is connected to another electrode terminal, e.g., a negative electrode terminal, through another adapter. That is, the positive electrode terminal is connected to the positive electrode tab through one adapter, and the negative electrode terminal is connected to the negative electrode tab through another adapter.
[0071] In the battery cell 45, one or more electrode assemblies 200 may be installed according to the actual needs of use. As shown in FIG. 5, one independent electrode assembly 200 is installed in the battery cell 45.
[0072] The first tab 210 and the second tab 220 of the electrode assembly 200 may be located at the same end, or as shown in Fig. 6, the first tab 210 and the second tab 220 of the electrode assembly 200 are located at both ends, that is, the electrode assembly 200 has the first tab 210 at one end and the second tab 220 at the other end. Accordingly, both ends of the case 100 of the battery cell 45 have first openings 110, and end cap assemblies 300 are respectively installed in each first opening 110, and the electrode terminals 400 installed in each end cap assembly 300 are respectively connected to one tab via an adapter 500. The structure of each end cap assembly 300 and the connection structure thereof with the case 100 may be the same, and the following description will be given by taking one end cap assembly 300 as an example.
[0073] 7, the end cap assembly 300 further includes a first insulating member 330 and a second insulating member 340. The first insulating member 330 is located on a side of the end cap 310 closer to the electrode assembly 200, i.e., the first insulating member 330 is located between the end cap 310 and the electrode assembly 200 so as to isolate the electrode assembly 200 and the end cap 310. The second insulating member 340 is located between the end cap 310 and the electrode terminal 400 so as to isolate the electrode terminal 400 and the end cap 310.
[0074] The first insulating member 330 is configured such that its projection onto the end cap 310 along the thickness direction D of the end cap covers the pressure relief mechanism 320. When the battery cell 45 is impacted or dropped, causing the internal electrolyte to sway within the case 100 and impact toward the end cap 310, the first insulating member 330 blocks the electrolyte and receives the impact instead of the pressure relief mechanism 320, thereby protecting the pressure relief mechanism 320 and preventing damage to the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0075] In this application, the shielding of the pressure relief mechanism 320 by the first insulating member 330 refers to the first insulating member 330 completely shielding the pressure relief mechanism 320 along the thickness direction D of the end cap, or completely shielding the fragile structures on the pressure relief mechanism 320, thereby reducing damage to the fragile structures of the pressure relief mechanism 320 caused by the direct impact of the electrolyte.
[0076] In order to ensure the safety of the battery cell 45, a first gap A is further provided between the first insulating member 330 and the pressure relief mechanism 320 in the thickness direction D of the end cap, and a flow path is formed in the battery cell 45 to connect the inside of the battery cell 45 to the first gap A. When the pressure relief mechanism 320 operates, exhaust from the inside of the battery cell 45, such as gas, can reach the first gap A through the flow path and be released from the position of the pressure relief mechanism 320 to the outside of the battery cell 45.
[0077] The interior of the battery cell 45 refers to a space formed between the end cap assembly 300 and the inner wall of the case 100 after the end cap assembly 300 covers the first opening 110 of the case 100. In the present application, this refers to a space that is formed by the first insulating member 330 and the case 100 and that accommodates the electrode assembly 200.
[0078] The first insulating member 330 may be configured to be generally spaced apart from the end cap 310 thereby forming a first gap A.
[0079] A portion of the first insulating member 330 may be attached to or abut against the end cap 310, and another portion may be spaced apart from the end cap 310 to form the first gap A. In some embodiments, the first insulating member 330 has a recess formed on a surface facing the end cap 310, and a projection of the recess onto the end cap 310 corresponds to the pressure relief mechanism 320, thereby forming the first gap A between the first insulating member 330 and the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0080] In some embodiments, the end cap 310 may extend beyond the pressure relief mechanism 320 on its surface facing the first insulating member 330, and the distance between the pressure relief mechanism 320 and the first insulating member 330 may be greater than the distance between the end cap 310 and the first insulating member 330, thereby forming a first gap A between the first insulating member 330 and the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0081] In some embodiments, because the first insulating member 330 can be spaced farther away from the pressure relief mechanism 320, the adapter 500 forms an escape space at a position corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism 320, thereby increasing the first gap A and improving the relief effect without changing the space occupied by the entire cover plate assembly and the adapter 500.
[0082] 7, the adapter 500 includes a first connecting portion 510, a second connecting portion 520, and a third connecting portion 530, in which the first connecting portion 510 is connected to the electrode assembly 200, the third connecting portion 530 is connected to the electrode terminal 400, and the second connecting portion 520 is connected to the first connecting portion 510 and the third connecting portion 530. 3 Connection part of 530 Connect with.
[0083] A fold is formed between the first connecting portion 510 and the second connecting portion 520, and between the second connecting portion 520 and the third connecting portion 530, respectively, thereby stacking the first connecting portion 510, the second connecting portion 520, and the third connecting portion 530 in sequence along the thickness direction D of the end cap. The lengths of the first connecting portion 510, the second connecting portion 520, and the third connecting portion 530 may be unequal, and the length of the first connecting portion 510 here refers to the distance from one end of the adapter 500 to the fold between the first connecting portion 510 and the second connecting portion 520, the length of the second connecting portion 520 refers to the distance between the fold between the first connecting portion 510 and the second connecting portion 520 and the fold between the second connecting portion 520 and the third connecting portion 530, and the length of the third connecting portion 530 refers to the distance from the fold between the second connecting portion 520 and the third connecting portion 530 to the other end of the adapter 500. Here, the length of the third connecting portion 530 is shorter than that of the second connecting portion 520, so that the third connecting portion 530 is stacked on the second connecting portion 520 to form a staircase structure.
[0084] 7 and 8, the first insulating member 330 includes a base wall 331 composed of a first base portion 331a and a second base portion 331b, the base wall 331 and the end cap 310 are disposed opposite each other, and a step is formed between the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b, where the step refers to forming two planes having a height difference by folding back at the connection position between the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b. The first base portion 331a is disposed between the end cap 310 and the third connection portion 530, one surface of the second base portion 331b presses the portion of the second connection portion 520 that is not covered by the third connection portion 530, and another surface of the second base portion 331b is disposed at a distance from the end cap 310 to form a first gap A.
[0085] In this embodiment, the first insulating member 330 has a first gap A formed between the second base portion 331b and the pressure relief mechanism 320, which ensures the safety of the battery cell 45 and transmits pressure via the first base portion 331a to press the adapter 500, making assembly stable.
[0086] In some embodiments, the first insulating member 330 may not abut the adapter 500, and the adapter 500 can still form a stepped structure in such a way that the third connecting portion 530 is shorter than the second connecting portion 520, thereby forming an avoidance space in the adapter 500 with an area corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism 320, and providing a space to form the first gap A.
[0087] In some embodiments, the flow path may include a second opening B formed in the first insulating member 330 (see FIG. 7 ). Along the thickness direction D of the end cap 310, the projection of the second opening B onto the end cap 310 is offset from the pressure relief mechanism 320, so that the first insulating member 330 prevents the electrolyte from directly impacting the pressure relief mechanism 320 when the electrolyte is shaken. When the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell 45 reaches a predetermined threshold, the discharged matter can enter the first gap A through the second opening B and thereby be discharged by the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0088] The second opening B in the first insulating member 330 is formed in the base wall 331 of the first insulating member 330 , and its projection onto the end cap 310 may be offset from the pressure relief mechanism 320 .
[0089] For example, as shown in FIG. 9, near the central position of the base wall 331 (i.e., away from the outer peripheral edge position of the base wall 331), a hole penetrating from one surface to another surface is formed in the second base portion 331b, the penetrating direction may be along the thickness direction D of the end cap, or the penetrating direction may be inclined with respect to the thickness direction D of the end cap and the inclination angle may be less than 90°, and the penetrating hole is a second opening B for escape.
[0090] The second opening B may further be formed at the connection position between the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b, that is, the portion for connecting the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b which have a height difference in the base wall 331, that portion forming a certain angle with the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b, and as shown in FIG. 10, a hole penetrating from one side to the other side is formed in that portion, the penetrating direction being perpendicular to the thickness direction D of the end cap, and the penetrating hole serves as a second opening for realizing communication between the inside of the battery cell and the first gap A and for allowing escape.
[0091] When the second opening B is near the center of the base wall 331 or in the portion at the connection position between the first base portion 331a and the second base portion 331b, the second opening B is close to the tab of the electrode assembly 200, so that the tab may be deformed and block the second opening B. In some embodiments, the second opening B may be formed on the outer periphery of the second base portion 331b, thereby making the second opening B relatively distant from the tab. As shown in Fig. 11, the base wall 331 is recessed from the outer periphery along the radial direction to form a notch, and the notch is used as the second opening B for escape.
[0092] In one embodiment of the present application, the first insulating member 330 further includes a side wall 332 disposed around the outer periphery of the base wall 331. Fig. 12 shows a schematic top view of the first insulating member 330, and Fig. 13 shows a schematic front view of the first insulating member 330. The side wall 332 improves the structural strength of the base wall 331 and makes the base wall 331 less likely to bend and deform, thereby better transmitting pressure, and allows the end cap 310 to press the adapter 500 against the electrode assembly 200 through the first insulating member 330, effectively preventing the adapter 500 and the electrode assembly 200 from being displaced when subjected to impact force or other force, so that the connection between the tab, the adapter 500, and the electrode terminal 400 will not loosen.
[0093] In some embodiments, the second opening B in the first insulating member 330 may be further formed in the side wall 332, in which case the flow path further includes a second gap C formed between the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 and the inner wall of the case 100 (see FIG. 7 ), and the projection of the second gap C onto the end cap 310 along the thickness direction D of the end cap is offset from the pressure relief mechanism 320. The second opening B in the side wall 332 communicates the first gap A with the second gap C, and the discharge enters the first gap A through the second opening B after entering the second gap C, and is released from the pressure relief mechanism 320. When the second opening B is located in the side wall 332, it is away from the tab, and therefore has the effect of being less likely to be blocked by the tab.
[0094] For ease of description, the side wall 332 may be considered to include a first portion 332a and a second portion 332b, where the first portion 332a is the portion connected to the first base portion 331a and the second portion 332b is the portion connected to the second base portion 331b, and for further ease of description, the end of the side wall 332 closer to the end cap 310 is referred to as the first end 3321 and the end of the side wall 332 away from the end cap 310 is referred to as the second end 3322.
[0095] In some embodiments, the first end 3321 of the sidewall 332 does not contact the end cap 310 to form a second opening B that communicates the second gap C and the first gap A. For example, the first end 3321 of the sidewall 332 does not completely contact the end cap 310, thereby defining the annular second opening B between the end face of the first end 3321 of the sidewall 332 and the end cap 310. In this case, the first end 3321 may not protrude from the base wall 331, or the first end 3321 may protrude from the base wall 331 but not contact the end cap 310.
[0096] In some other embodiments, a portion of the first end 3321 of the sidewall 332 does not contact the end cap 310, and another portion does contact the end cap 310, thereby defining a second opening B between the end face of the first end 3321 that does not contact the end cap 310 and the end cap 310. The second opening B is at least partially located in the second portion 332b of the sidewall 332 such that the second opening B effectively communicates the first gap A and the second gap C.
[0097] As shown in FIG. 14, a first end 3321 of the side wall 332 protrudes from the base wall 331 and abuts against the end cap 310, and is recessed from the first end 3321 to the second end 3322 of the side wall 332 to form a groove, which serves as a second opening B connecting the first gap A and the second gap C.
[0098] When only a portion of the first end 3321 of the side wall 332 does not contact the end cap 310, the base wall 331 is less likely to be deformed by the action of the side wall 332, and the first end 3321 of the side wall 332 abuts against the end cap 310 to transmit the end cap pressure, so that the base wall 331 can better press the adapter, and the groove in the side wall 332 serves as the second opening B to meet the discharge demand.
[0099] In order to better balance the escape function with the structural strength of the first insulating member 330, the second opening B is configured as a groove whose depth is smaller than the height at which the first end 3321 protrudes from the base wall 331, and as shown in FIG. 14, the depth of the second opening B is h, which is smaller than the height at which the first end 3321 protrudes from the second portion 332b.
[0100] In FIG. 14 , it can be seen that the lower edge of the second opening B protrudes from the base wall 331 of the first insulating member 330, so that the side wall 332 can be continuously arranged around the outer periphery of the base wall 331 even when the side wall 332 has the second opening B, so that the base wall 331 has high structural strength and is less likely to deform, and can better transmit force between the end cap 310 and the adapter 500 or between the end cap 310 and the electrode assembly 200.
[0101] 15, the second opening B in the first insulating member 330 is a hole formed penetrating from one surface of the side wall 332 to another surface, and the penetrating direction is perpendicular to the thickness direction of the end cap 310. In such a case, the second opening B is partially located in the second portion 332b or entirely located in the second portion 332b so that the waste can easily enter the first gap A through the second opening B.
[0102] The second opening B may be a polygonal hole cut into the side wall 332, a circular hole drilled into the side wall 332, or may be integrally formed during injection molding.
[0103] In some embodiments, the second openings B in the second portion 332b may be multiple, and the multiple second openings B are spaced apart to reduce the impact of the second openings B on the structural strength of the side wall 332, thereby better protecting the base wall 331 and preventing deformation of the base wall 331.
[0104] When the total opening area in the side wall 332 does not change, the more the number of the second openings B, the smaller the area of each second opening B becomes, and when there are solid particles in the discharge, the smaller second openings B may be easily blocked, so it is not preferable to have too many second openings B. In order to balance the discharge demand and the structural strength of the side wall 332, in some embodiments, the number of the second openings B is set to two, as shown in Fig. 16. In other embodiments, the number of the second openings B may be three, four, etc., and is not limited here.
[0105] 16 are all grooves recessed from the first end 3321 to the second end 3322 of the side wall 332, this does not mean that each of the second openings B must be a groove when there are multiple second openings B. When there are multiple second openings B, the type of each of the second openings B may be any one of the above types.
[0106] In some embodiments, the flow path may include only a second gap C formed between the outer circumferential surface of the first insulating member 330 and the inner wall of the case 100. Along the thickness direction D of the end cap, the projection of the second gap C onto the end cap 310 along the thickness direction D of the end cap is offset from the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0107] For example, as shown in FIG. 17, the first insulating member 330 does not include a side wall 332, and the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 (i.e., the outer peripheral surface of the base wall 331) does not completely contact the inner wall of the case 100, thereby forming a second gap C.
[0108] 18 , the outer circumferential surface of the first insulating member 330 is in contact with the inner wall of the case 100 at the first base portion 331a, and the outer circumferential surface of the second base portion 331b is not in contact with the inner wall of the case 100.
[0109] The second gap C not only allows discharged material to enter the first gap A through the second gap C when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell 45 reaches a predetermined threshold, but also ensures that the electrolyte cannot pass through the second gap C and directly impact the pressure relief mechanism 320, allowing the first insulating member 330 to play a role in protecting the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0110] Generally, the air pressure value in the battery cell 45 and the first gap A are equal, but if gas generation runs out of control or the temperature rises abnormally, the air pressure inside the battery cell 45 rises rapidly, and if the flow path cannot vent in a timely manner, the gas inside the battery cell 45 cannot quickly enter the first gap A, which is likely to cause the air pressure value in the first gap A not to reach the valve opening pressure value of the pressure release mechanism 320 (i.e., the pressure value that activates the pressure release mechanism 320) when the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 rises to a set limit pressure value (i.e., a pressure value that may cause the battery cell 45 to explode). Generally, the valve opening pressure value of the pressure release mechanism 320 is usually about half the limit pressure value of the battery cell 45. In order to ensure the safety of the battery cell 45, the minimum ventilation area of the flow path is configured to be half or more of the area of the pressure release mechanism 320.
[0111] For ease of understanding, the present embodiment will be described assuming that the limit pressure value of the battery cell 45 is 3 MPa and the valve opening pressure value of the pressure release mechanism 320 is 1.5 MPa.
[0112] When the pressure can be exhausted in a timely manner, i.e., when the minimum ventilation area of the flow path is at least the same as the exhaust area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 is equal to the pressure value in the first gap A, and when the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 reaches 1.5 Mpa, the pressure relief mechanism 320 operates to ensure that the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 and the pressure value in the first gap A are always 1.5 Mpa.
[0113] If the minimum ventilation area of the flow path is reduced relative to the exhaust area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 will be greater than the pressure value in the first gap A due to rapid gas generation.
[0114] If the minimum ventilation area of the flow path is smaller than the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320 and larger than half the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, when the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 is greater than 1.5 MPa and smaller than 3 MPa, the pressure value in the first gap A will reach 1.5 MPa, activating the pressure relief mechanism 320 and preventing the explosion of the battery cell 45.
[0115] If the minimum ventilation area of the flow path is reduced to half the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, when the pressure value inside the battery cell 45 approaches the limit pressure value of 3 MPa, the pressure value in the first gap A approaches 1.5 MPa, and the pressure relief mechanism 320 is activated to prevent the internal pressure value of the battery cell 45 from exceeding 3 MPa and causing an explosion.
[0116] In order to make the minimum ventilation area of the flow path greater than half the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, in an embodiment having a second opening B, the area of the second opening B is greater than half the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320, and in an embodiment having a second gap C, the minimum ventilation area of the second gap C is greater than half the area of the pressure relief mechanism 320.
[0117] The minimum ventilation area of the second gap C in this embodiment forms a cross section along the radial direction of the battery cell 45, and when the cross-sectional area of the second gap C is at its minimum, the cross-sectional area of the second gap C at that position becomes the minimum ventilation area.
[0118] In the case of manufacturing errors, the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 may come into contact with the case 100 and block the second gap C, which may affect the normal operation of the pressure relief mechanism 320. Therefore, at least a part of the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 is inclined, so that the width of the second gap C gradually increases in the direction away from the end cap 310. At the same time, when the minimum ventilation area does not change, the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 is configured as an inclined surface, so that the second gap C has a shape with a relatively large inlet and a relatively small outlet, which is favorable for the exhaust to enter the second gap C and be concentrated and discharged to the outlet under the action of pressure, and the second gap C has a better guiding effect, stabilizes the flow path of the exhaust, improves the discharge rate, and improves the pressure relief effect.
[0119] The second gap C extends from at least the lower edge of the second opening B to the second end 3322, and the closer the outer circumferential surface of the side wall 332 is to the position of the second end 3322, the farther it is from the case 100. Taking the example shown in Fig. 19 as an example, the lower edge of the second opening B refers to the edge of the second opening B that is away from the end cap 310, and the width of the second gap C at this position is k, and the difference between the width value of the second gap C and k gradually increases along the direction away from the end cap 310.
[0120] In some embodiments, the second gap C extends from the first end 3321 to the second end 3322, i.e., the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 slopes from the first end 3321 to the second end 3322, further avoiding blocking of the second opening B due to contact between the outer peripheral surface of the first insulating member 330 and the case 100 due to manufacturing tolerances.
[0121] In some embodiments, the side wall 332 may be configured in a conical shape, and the second gap C is formed between the entire side wall 332 and the case 100 to communicate the interior of the battery cell 45 with the first gap A.
[0122] In some other embodiments, the side wall 332 may be configured to form a slope only on the outer peripheral surface at the position corresponding to the second opening B, whereby the first portion 332a of the side wall 332 is attached to the case 100 to improve the assembly stability of the first insulating member 330, and the second gap C is formed between the second portion 332b and the case 100 to connect the inside of the battery cell 45 to the first gap A.
[0123] In some embodiments, the end cap 310 abuts against the electrode assembly 200 via the adapter 500, but the electrode assembly 200 may still be able to swing due to the presence of gaps between each connecting portion of the adapter 500. As shown in FIG. 19 , by configuring the side wall 332 such that a first end 3321 abuts against the end cap 310 and a second end 3322 abuts against the electrode assembly 200, the end cap 310 directly presses against the electrode assembly 200 with the side wall 332, further limiting the movement of the electrode assembly 200.
[0124] When the first end 3321 abuts against the end cap 310, the first end 3321 is close to the weld at the connection location between the case 100 and the end cap 310, and the first end 3321 of the first insulating member 330 is easily deformed by high heat when welding the case 100 and the end cap 310. In some embodiments, a corner at the intersection between the end face of the first end 3321 and the outer circumferential surface of the first end 3321 is chamfered or cut to recess from the surface of the first end 3321, thereby forming a gap between the weld and the first end 3321 of the side wall 332. Due to the effect of the gap, in the process of welding the connection position between the case 100 and the end cap 310 at high temperature to form a welded joint, the first end 3321 is less likely to be burned, and the side wall 332 is prevented from being deformed by heat due to the high temperature generated during welding. This solves the problem of the end cap 310 and the electrode assembly 200 being unable to abut due to the side wall 332 being damaged and deformed by heat, and avoids limit failure of the electrode assembly 200.
[0125] When the passage path of the discharged matter from the inside of the battery cell 45 to the pressure relief mechanism 320 is long, the response speed of the pressure relief mechanism 320 is low. In some embodiments, a central angle corresponding to the projection of the second opening B or the second gap C onto the end cap 310 at least partially overlaps with a central angle corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism 320 along the thickness direction D of the end cap, as shown in Figures 20 and 21 .
[0126] The projection of the second opening B onto the end cap 310 forms an arc-shaped line, the corresponding central angle of the arc-shaped line is α, the two radii of the end cap 310 pass through both ends of the arc-shaped line and form a sector with the arc-shaped line, and the pressure relief mechanism 320 is located within the sector, so that the distance from the second opening B to the pressure relief mechanism 320 is shorter, and the discharged material can reach the pressure relief mechanism 320 smoothly and quickly, improving the response speed of the pressure relief mechanism. Here, the second opening B is taken as an example for description, and the second gap C is similar.
[0127] In order to prevent the end cap 310 from shifting from the first insulating member 330, thereby changing the relative position between the second opening B or the second gap C and the pressure relief mechanism 320 and affecting the response speed of the pressure relief mechanism 320, in some embodiments, as shown in Figures 22 and 23, a first positioning portion 311 is provided on the end cap 310 and a second positioning portion 3311 is provided on the base wall 331, and the first positioning portion 311 and the second positioning portion 3311 engage with each other, thereby realizing circumferential positioning of the end cap 310 and the first insulating member 330.
[0128] After the end cap 310 and the first insulating member 330 are assembled together in the axial direction, the first positioning portion 311 and the second positioning portion 3311 are engaged to prevent the end cap 310 and the first insulating member 330 from being displaced in the radial and circumferential directions, so that the end cap assembly 300 has high stability after being assembled as a whole, and the relative positions of the second opening B and the pressure relief mechanism 320 can be kept constant, thereby ensuring the response speed of the pressure relief mechanism 320 and ensuring that the first insulating member 330 completely shields the pressure relief mechanism 320 in a set manner. Furthermore, the first positioning portion 311 and the second positioning portion 3311 allow the end cap 310 and the first insulating member 330 to be assembled quickly and accurately.
[0129] The first positioning portion 311 is a first protrusion formed on a surface of the end cap 310 facing the first insulating member 330, and the second positioning portion 3311 is configured as a plurality of second protrusions formed on one surface of the base wall 331 facing the end cap 310. The first protrusion is inserted between the plurality of second protrusions, and the plurality of second protrusions surround the first protrusion and engage with each other to abut against the first protrusion, thereby restricting the first protrusion from moving along the surface of the first insulating member 330 and further restricting the end cap 310 from moving relative to the first insulating member 330.
[0130] In some embodiments, the first protrusion is polygonal, and the plurality of second protrusions are disposed at corners of the polygon, and each of the second protrusions is configured to abut two surfaces that form the corner. In some embodiments, the corners of the first protrusions are chamfered to form an arcuate surface, and the surface of the second protrusion has the same curvature as the arcuate surface.
[0131] In one embodiment, the electrode terminal 400 is located on the first protrusion, and the thickness of the end cap 310 is relatively large at the first protrusion. By placing the electrode terminal 400 on the first protrusion, the length of the electrode terminal 400 drilled into the end cap 310 can be increased, and the electrode terminal 400 can be assembled more stably.
[0132] The first insulating member 330 is formed with a through hole for allowing the electrode terminal 400 to pass therethrough and for connecting to the adapter 500, and the through hole is disposed so as to be located in a range for accommodating the first protrusion, surrounded by the second protrusions, when the electrode terminal 400 is located on the first protrusion. That is, the second protrusions not only surround and abut the first protrusion, but are also located in the circumferential direction of the electrode terminal 400, so that when one end of the electrode terminal 400 protruding from the end cap 310 is pulled in or impacted, the second protrusions provide a reaction force around the electrode terminal 400 through the first protrusion, and both the first protrusion and the electrode terminal 400 receive the force, thereby mitigating the bending deformation of the electrode terminal 400.
[0133] In some embodiments, the first positioning portion 311 may also be configured as a recess formed on the surface of the end cap 310 facing the electrode assembly 200, and the recess fits with a first protrusion on the base wall 331. Of course, the first positioning portion 311 is configured as a protrusion formed on the surface of the end cap 310 facing the electrode assembly 200, but the second positioning portion 3311 may also be configured as a recess formed on the surface of the base wall 331 facing the end cap 310.
[0134] In some embodiments, the second positioning portion 3311 may be further formed on an end surface of the first end 3321 of the side wall 332, and when the first end 3321 abuts against the end cap 310, the second positioning portion 3311 formed on the first end 3321 engages with the first positioning portion 311 in the end cap 310.
