Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a cable tie for bundling cables, and more particularly to a cable tie that improves the reliability of bundling cables. [Background technology]
[0002] A cable tie is used to bundle multiple cables together, or to support one or multiple cables on a board, chassis, or the like. For example, the cable tie of Patent Document 1 has a band part (band body) for bundling cables and a lock part (head part) provided at the base end of the band part, and the cable is tied by wrapping the band part around the cable and then locking the tip side of the band part with the lock part. In addition, in the cable tie of Patent Document 1, a protruding part is provided on the inner surface of the band part, i.e., the surface that contacts the cable, in order to increase the reliability of the cable tie state. The protruding part bites into the cable sheath, thereby increasing the binding force in the length direction of the cable.
[0003] When a bending force is applied to a cable tied with this type of cable tie, the cable is bent with the tied band as a fulcrum. If the angle of the edge of the band is close to a right angle, the cable is bent with the edge as a fulcrum, so that the cable is bent with an extremely small radius of curvature, and the bending stress generated in the cable or its covering is concentrated, causing damage to the cable covering at the bent portion, and further causing the cable itself to break due to fracture. In Patent Document 1, a tapered recessed portion is provided adjacent to the protruding portion, but it is difficult to improve the reliability of such a cable against bending.
[0004] On the other hand, Patent Documents 2 and 3 propose a clamp for locking a cable, which is different from a cable tie, and propose a technology for forming the edge (corner) of the cable clamping part of the clamp into a curved surface. By forming the edge into a curved surface, the concentration of bending stress when the cable is bent can be mitigated, which is effective in improving the reliability of the cable against bending. [0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2017-1706 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2018-35869 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2018-35869 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] In both of the technologies of Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 3, the edge of the portion to be bound is curved, but the radius of curvature of this curved surface is small compared to the thickness of the clamp. Therefore, the bent cable is bent along the curved surface of the edge, which is not effective in preventing the concentration of bending stress on the cable, and there is room for improvement in reliability against bending of the cable.
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a cable tie that suppresses or prevents damage to the cables being tied together and improves the reliability of the cable tie. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] The cable tie of the present invention is a cable tie having a belt-shaped band portion, which is bent in the length direction to form a loop for binding cables, and is characterized in that both side surfaces on both sides in the width direction of the first surface that abuts against the cable when tying the cable are configured in an arc shape having a radius of curvature equal to the thickness dimension of the band portion.
[0009] The cable tie of the present invention is characterized in that it has a band-shaped band portion, and ties cables with a loop formed by bending the band portion in the length direction, and that the band portion has a first surface that abuts against the cable during bundling, and both side surfaces on both sides in the width direction of the first surface are configured in an arc shape, and both side portions constituting the both side surfaces are tiltable in the width direction with the first surface side as a fulcrum. Preferably, both side surfaces are configured in a semicircular arc shape with a radius of curvature that is 1 / 2 the thickness dimension of the band portion.
[0010] In the cable tie of the present invention, it is preferable that the first surface is provided with a protrusion at the center in the width direction thereof, extending along the length of the band portion and capable of biting into the sheath of the cable. Effect of the Invention
[0011] According to the present invention, since both side surfaces of the band portion are formed into an arc shape with a predetermined radius of curvature, when a bending force is applied to the cable, the cable is bent along both side surfaces, and the concentration of the bending force is suppressed. In addition, since both sides of the band portion are tilted as the cable is bent, the concentration of the bending force is suppressed. This prevents damage to the cable due to the concentration of the bending force, and improves the reliability of the bundling. In addition, the protrusions provided on the band portion prevent the cable from being pulled out, and improves the reliability of the bundling. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0013] (Embodiment 1) Next, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described. Fig. 1 is an external perspective view of a cable tie 100 of the present invention, showing a state in which a cable C shown in imaginary lines is tied. Fig. 2 shows (a) a front view, (b) a right side view, and (c) a rear view. The cable tie 100 comprises a long, thin band-shaped band portion 1, a lock portion 2 integrated with the base end of the hand portion 1, and a fixing portion 3 connected to the lock portion, and the band portion 1, lock portion 2, and fixing portion 3 are formed by integral molding of elastic resin.
[0014] The cable tie 100 is fixed to a panel, a board, a chassis, or the like (hereinafter referred to as a chassis, or the like) 200 of an apparatus by a fixing part 3. The fixing part 3 has a post 31 protruding downward and a pair of engagement pieces 32 extending obliquely upward from both ends of the post 31. When the fixing part 3 is inserted into an opening 201 provided in the chassis, or the like 200, the steps provided in the pair of engagement pieces 32 engage with the inner edge of the opening 201, thereby fixing the fixing part 3, i.e., the cable tie 100, to the chassis, or the like 200. Each engagement piece 32 is integrally provided with an elastic contact piece 33 and a release piece 34. When the fixing part 3 is fixed to the chassis, or the like 200, the elastic contact piece 33 elastically contacts the surface of the chassis, or the like 200 to maintain the engagement state at the engagement piece 32. When the release piece 34 is pinched from both sides by the operator's hands and elastically deformed inward, it elastically deforms the engagement piece 32 inward to release the engagement state, and the cable tie 100 can be removed from the chassis, or the like 200.
[0015] The locking portion 2 has an insertion hole 21 through which the band portion 1 can be inserted from the tip side, and a cantilevered tongue-shaped locking piece 22 is provided on the lower surface of the insertion hole 21 (the up-down direction is based on FIG. 1) facing the insertion hole 21. A locking claw 23 having a sawtooth cross section is provided on the tip of the upper surface of the locking piece 22, which can be engaged with a claw 11 of the band portion 1 described later to lock the band portion 1.
[0016] The band portion 1 is formed in a belt shape and can be bent into a loop shape with the first surface f1 facing inward. The tip 10 of the band portion 1 is tapered to facilitate insertion into the insertion hole 21 of the lock portion 2, but the portion on the base end side is formed with the same cross-sectional shape. A number of sawtooth claws 11 are arranged along the length on a second surface f2 of the band portion 1 opposite the first surface f1. The claws 11 are engaged with the lock claws 23 when the band portion 1 is inserted from the tip into the insertion hole 21 of the lock portion 2.
[0017] Fig. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the band portion 1 in the width direction taken along line AA in Fig. 2(a). The first surface f1 is a smooth surface with no irregularities from the center in the width direction along both side portions 13. The both side surfaces fs of both side portions 13 connected to this first surface f1 have a cross-sectional shape in the width direction that is an arc shape with a required radius of curvature, i.e., a radius of curvature that is approximately equal to the thickness dimension of the band portion 1 or a slightly larger radius of curvature, and the first surface f1 is oriented in the direction of the tangent of the arc of both side surfaces fs.
[0018] Furthermore, a protrusion 12 is provided in the center of the first surface f1, which extends along the length of the band portion 1 and can bite into the coating of the cables C to be bundled. The protrusion 12 has an arc-shaped cross section so as not to damage the coating when it bites into the coating of the cables C.
[0019] 1, when bundling a cable C, the cable tie 100 is wrapped around the cable C with the first surface f1 of the band portion 1 facing inward, and then the tip 10 of the band portion 1 is inserted into the insertion hole 21 of the lock portion 2, and the tip portion 10 is pulled to bundle the cable C with the band portion 1. This bundling causes the claw 11 to engage with the lock claw 23 of the lock portion 2, preventing the band portion 1 from slipping out of the lock portion 2 in the opposite direction, thereby bundling the cable C.
[0020] After tying the cable C with the cable tie 100, the fixing part 3 is inserted into the opening 201 of the chassis or the like 200, whereby the pair of locking pieces 32 engage with the inner edge of the opening 201 and are fixed to the chassis or the like 200. This allows the cable C to be supported by the chassis or the like 200. Note that the engagement at the locking pieces 32 can be released by pinching the release pieces 34 of the fixing part 3 from both sides, and the cable tie 100 can be removed from the chassis or the like 200.
[0021] When the cable C is tied with the cable tie 100 in this manner, if an external force is applied to the cable C in the longitudinal direction, the cable C may be moved in the longitudinal direction from the cable tie. In the first embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3(a) showing a part of the band portion 1, the protrusions 12 provided on the first surface f1 that comes into close contact with the circumferential surface of the cable C when the cable C is tied are embedded in the insulation of the cable C. This prevents the cable C from moving in the longitudinal direction, and improves the reliability of the tie. At this time, since the cross section of the protrusions 12 is arc-shaped, the insulation of the cable C is not damaged.
[0022] Also, as shown in FIG. 3(b), when an external force is applied to the cable C in the bending direction, the cable C is bent with the part in contact with the first surface f1 of the band part 1 as a fulcrum. At this time, the first surface f1 is a smooth surface without any unevenness, and the cross-sectional shape of both sides fs connected to it is arc-shaped, so the cable C is bent along the arc shapes (circumferential shapes) of both sides fs. The radius of curvature of both sides fs is set to the thickness dimension of the band part 1 or a dimension longer than that, so that the cable C is bent while being guided along the arc shapes of both sides fs, thereby preventing the cable C from being bent at a small angle, particularly an acute angle or an angle close to that. This prevents the bending stress generated in the cable C from concentrating in one part, and prevents the cable sheath from being damaged in this part, and further prevents the cable itself from being broken.
[0023] Incidentally, in the clamps of Patent Documents 2 and 3, only the corners of both sides of the clamp are made into an arc shape, so it is difficult for the cable to be bent along both sides of the clamp. Therefore, when the cable is bent, the angle tends to be close to an acute angle, so there is a limit to the effect of preventing the concentration of stress on the cable, and the effect of preventing damage to the cable is not sufficient.
[0024] In this embodiment 1, the radius of curvature of both side surfaces fs is not required to be exactly equal to the thickness dimension of the band portion 1, and even if there is a slight difference in dimension, as long as the area of both side surfaces fs extending from the first surface f1 to the second surface f2 is arc-shaped or approximately arc-shaped, the concentration of stress generated in the cable can be alleviated, and the remarkable effects of the present invention can be expected.
[0025] (Embodiment 2) FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the cable tie of the second embodiment, and FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the state in which the cable C shown by the imaginary line is tied. In the second embodiment, the parts equivalent to those in the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals. The cable tie 100A of the second embodiment includes a band portion 1 and a lock portion 2 as in the first embodiment, but does not include a fixing portion. The basic configuration of the band portion 1 and the lock portion 2 and the manner in which the cable C is tied are almost the same as those in the first embodiment. That is, as shown in FIG. 5, the first surface f1 of the band portion 1 is turned around the cable C so that the inner circumference side, and then the tip 100 of the band portion 1 is inserted into the insertion hole 21 of the lock portion 2 to tie the cable C. This tie causes the claw 11 to engage with the lock claw (not shown in the figure) of the lock portion 2, preventing the band portion 1 from slipping out of the lock portion 2 in the opposite direction, thereby tying the cable C.
[0026] As shown in Fig. 6, an enlarged cross-sectional view of the cable tie 100A of the second embodiment taken along line BB in Fig. 4, the first surface that comes into contact with the cable C when the cable C is tied is a smooth surface that does not have any irregularities from the center to both sides in the width direction. Both sides that are continuous with this first surface have a cross-sectional shape in the width direction that is an arc shape with a required radius of curvature, here a semicircular arc shape with a radius of curvature approximately equal to approximately half the thickness dimension of the band portion. The first surface f1 is oriented in the direction of the tangent of the arc of both side surfaces fs.
[0027] In addition, in the center of the first surface f1, as in the first embodiment, a protrusion 12 is provided that extends along the length of the band portion 1 and is capable of biting into the coating of the cables C to be bundled. The cross-sectional shape of the protrusion 12 is an arc shape so as not to damage the coating when it bites into the coating of the cables C.
[0028] On the other hand, the second surface f2 of the band has a central portion in the width direction, excluding both side portions 14, recessed toward the first surface, and a number of sawtooth-shaped claws 11 are arranged along the length direction on the inner bottom surface of the recessed portion 13. The claws 11 are engaged with lock claws (not shown) provided on the lock portion 2, and maintain the bundled state of the cable C, as in the first embodiment. In addition, the claws 11 are spaced apart from both side portions 13 in the width direction within the recessed portion 14 formed in the second surface f2. Therefore, the both side portions 13 are connected to the band portion 1 at a part on the first surface f1 side of the band portion 1, and the both side portions 13 are elastically deformed with the connected portions as fulcrums, and can be tilted in the width direction.
[0029] 5, the cable tie 100A is wrapped around the cable C with the first surface f1 of the band portion 1 facing inward, and then the band portion 1 is inserted into the insertion hole 21 of the lock portion 2. Then, by binding the cable C with the band portion 1, the claw 11 engages with the lock claw 23 of the lock portion 2, and the band portion 1 is prevented from slipping out of the lock portion 2 in the opposite direction, thereby binding the cable C.
[0030] When the cable C is tied with the cable tie 100A, the protrusions 12 on the first surface f1 of the band portion 1 bite into the coating of the cable C, preventing the cable C from moving in the longitudinal direction even if an external force is applied to the cable in the longitudinal direction, thereby improving the reliability of the tie. The cross section of the protrusions 12 is arc-shaped, so the coating of the cable C is not damaged.
[0031] Furthermore, when an external force is applied to the cable C in the bending direction, as shown in Fig. 6(a), the cable C is bent with both side surfaces fs of the band portion 1 to which it is bound as fulcrums. At this time, since the first surface f1 is a smooth surface without any irregularities and both side surfaces fs have a semicircular cross-sectional shape, the cable C is bent along these both side surfaces fs. Since the radius of curvature of both side surfaces fs is set to 1 / 2 the thickness dimension of the band portion 1, the cable C is bent while being guided along the semicircular shapes of both side surfaces fs, thereby preventing the cable C from being bent at a small angle, particularly an acute angle or an angle close to an acute angle.
[0032] In the second embodiment, the radius of curvature of both side surfaces fs is half that of the first embodiment, so the angle at which the cable C is bent is considered to be smaller than that of the first embodiment. However, in the second embodiment, as shown in Fig. 6(b), both side portions 13 are tiltable with the portion on the first surface f1 side as a fulcrum, so that both side portions 13 are tilted toward the center as the cable C is bent. The bending of the cable C is suppressed by the half force generated by this tilt, and part of the bending stress generated in the cable C is absorbed by the tilted both side portions 13. These interactions prevent the bending stress generated in the cable C from concentrating, and the cable sheath from being damaged at this portion, and further, the cable itself from being broken.
[0033] In this embodiment 2, the radius of curvature of both side surfaces fs is not required to be exactly equal to 1 / 2 the thickness dimension of the band portion 1. Even if there is a slight difference in dimension, as long as the area of both side surfaces fs extending from the first surface f1 to the second surface f2 is semicircular arc shaped or approximately semicircular arc shaped, the concentration of stress generated in the cable can be alleviated, and the remarkable effects of the present invention can be expected.
[0034] As described above, the cable tie of the present invention has both side surfaces of the band portion formed in an arc shape or semicircular shape with a required radius of curvature, which prevents the concentration of stress that occurs when the cable is bent, prevents damage to the cable, and improves the reliability of the bundling. In addition, by making both side portions tiltable, the reliability of the bundling is further improved. On the other hand, when the cable is pulled in the length direction, it is prevented from being pulled out of the cable tie, which also improves the reliability of the bundling.
[0035] The present invention is not limited to the configurations of the first and second embodiments. In particular, as described above, in the band portion of the first embodiment, the radius of curvature of the arc shape of both sides does not necessarily have to be approximately equal to the thickness dimension of the band portion, as long as the arc of the arc shape is continuous with the first and second faces without causing any unevenness. Also, in the band portion of the second embodiment, the radius of curvature of the arc shape of both sides does not necessarily have to be 1 / 2 the thickness dimension of the band portion.
[0036] In the cable tie of the present invention, the configuration of the claws provided on the band portion and the configuration of the insertion hole and lock claws provided on the lock portion can be changed as desired. Also, the configuration of the fixing portion shown in the first embodiment can be changed as appropriate. [Explanation of symbols]
