AI Technical Summary
Existing wireless communication technologies, such as 802.11ax, face challenges in efficiently transmitting Extremely High Throughput (EHT) Trigger-Based Physical Layer Protocol Data Units (PPDUs) when multiple Resource Units (RUs) are assigned to a single Station (STA), as they cannot perform transmissions if any 20MHz subchannel is busy.
The proposed method allows EHT TB PPDUs to be transmitted in the idle portions of RUs assigned to a STA, by indicating in the trigger frame whether the STA is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmissions on a portion of the assigned resource unit, thereby improving spectral resource utilization.
This approach enables efficient transmission of EHT TB PPDUs even when some RUs are busy, by utilizing idle portions of RUs, thus enhancing spectral resource utilization and reducing reception complexity for the access point.

Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] [Related Applications] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202110634422.4, entitled “PPDU TRANSMISSION METHOD AND RELATED APPARATUS,” filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China on June 7, 2021, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
[0002] [Technical field] The present application relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular to a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) transmission method and related devices. [Background technology]
[0003] Wireless local area networks (WLANs) have been developed in many generations including 802.11a / b / g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, 802.11b, etc. The 802.11ax standard is called the high efficiency (HE) standard, and the 802.11be standard is called the extremely high throughput (EHT) standard or Wi-Fi 7 standard.
[0004] In 802.11ax, a trigger frame-based uplink scheduling transmission method is introduced. Based on a trigger frame transmitted by an access point (AP), one or more stations (STAs) are scheduled to transmit uplink data. In addition, resource units (RUs) are separately allocated to one or more stations based on the trigger frame, and the trigger frame conveys an instruction that one or more stations need to perform carrier sensing. Therefore, when performing high efficiency trigger-based physical layer protocol data unit (HE TB PPDU) transmission, the STA performs carrier sensing on one or more 20 MHz subchannels in which the RUs allocated to the station are located, and detects whether the sensed energy exceeds a preset threshold. If it is detected that the detected energy exceeds the preset threshold, it is determined that the 20 MHz subchannel is busy. If it is detected that the detected energy does not exceed the preset threshold, it is determined that the 20 MHz subchannel is idle. In 802.11ax, it is specified that if one 20MHz subchannel in the frequency range corresponding to the RU assigned to the STA is busy, the HE TB PPDU transmission cannot be performed to prevent interference with other transmissions. In the 802.11ax standard, only one RU can be assigned to one station (STA). In the 802.11be standard, multiple RUs can be assigned to one STA. Assigning multiple RUs to one station may be understood as combining and assigning multiple RUs to one station.
[0005] The case where multiple RUs can be assigned to one STA will be further considered in future WLAN systems. Therefore, when multiple RUs can be assigned to one STA, how to transmit HE TB PPDU based on the carrier sensing results of multiple RUs assigned to a station becomes an urgent problem to be solved. Summary of the Invention
[0006] The present application provides a PPDU transmission method and related devices, particularly, an extremely high throughput trigger-based physical layer protocol data unit (EHT TB PPDU) transmission method and related devices, which supports the station to transmit EHT TB PPDU in the idle part of the RU when some of the RUs / multiple MRUs (MRUs) assigned to the station are idle and other parts are busy, and can improve spectrum resource utilization.
[0007] In the following, the present application will be described from various aspects. It should be understood that the following implementations and the beneficial effects of different aspects can be cross-referenced.
[0008] According to a first aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, particularly related to an EHT TB PPDU transmission method. The method includes: an access point transmits a trigger frame; the trigger frame is used to trigger a station to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission, the trigger frame includes first indication information, the first indication information indicates whether the station is permitted to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the first resource unit allocated to the station; the access point receives a TB PPDU from the station; Optionally, an EHT TB PPDU is received; the first resource unit is a resource unit with more than 996 tones, or the first resource unit is a multiple resource unit (multiple RU, MRU), the MRU includes at least one resource unit with more than 996 tones; alternatively, the first resource unit includes at least one resource unit with a bandwidth of 80 MHz or more.
[0009] In this application, the first indication information is set to indicate that the station is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit allocated to the station.
[0010] In this solution, the trigger frame indicates that the station is permitted to transmit EHT TB PPDU on the part of the RU assigned to the station, and supports the station to transmit EHT TB PPDU on the idle part of the RU when some of the RU / MRU assigned to the station are idle and other parts are busy, thereby improving the utilization rate of spectrum resources.
[0011] According to a second aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, particularly related to an EHT TB PPDU transmission method. The method includes: A station receives a trigger frame from an access point. The trigger frame is used to trigger the station to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission, and the trigger frame includes first indication information, and the first indication information indicates whether the station is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the first resource unit assigned to the station. The station transmits a TB PPDU based on the indication of the first indication information. Specifically, an EHT TB PPDU is transmitted. The resource unit actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU may be the first resource unit assigned to the station by the access point based on the trigger frame, or may be the part of the first resource unit. The first resource unit is a resource unit with more than 996 tones, or the first resource unit is an MRU, and the MRU includes at least one resource unit including 996 tones or more. Alternatively, the first resource unit includes at least one resource unit having a bandwidth equal to or greater than 80 MHz.
[0012] According to a third aspect, the present application provides a communication device. The communication device may be an access point or a chip in an access point, for example a Wi-Fi chip. The communication device includes a second unit configured to transmit a trigger frame. The trigger frame is used to trigger a station to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission, the trigger frame further indicating a first resource unit assigned to the station, the trigger frame including first indication information, the first indication information indicating whether the station is allowed to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the first resource unit assigned to the station, the first resource unit being a resource unit with more than 996 tones, or the first resource unit being a multi-mode resource unit, the multi-mode resource unit including at least one resource unit with more than 996 tones. The second unit is further configured to receive an EHT TB PPDU. The second unit may be implemented using a communication interface or a transceiver.
[0013] Optionally, said communication device further comprises a processing unit configured to generate said trigger frame.
[0014] According to a fourth aspect, the present application provides a communication device. The communication device may be a station or a chip in a station, for example a Wi-Fi chip. The communication device includes a first unit configured to receive a trigger frame. The trigger frame is used to trigger the station to perform a very high throughput trigger-based physical layer protocol data unit EHT TB PPDU transmission, the trigger frame further indicating a first resource unit assigned to the station, the trigger frame including first indication information, the first indication information indicating whether the station is allowed to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the first resource unit assigned to the station, the first resource unit being a resource unit with more than 996 tones, or the first resource unit being a multi-mode resource unit, the multi-mode resource unit including at least one resource unit with 996 tones or more. The first unit is further configured to transmit the EHT TB PPDU based on an indication of the first indication information. The first unit may be implemented using a communication interface or a transceiver.
[0015] Optionally, the communication device further comprises a processing unit configured to generate the EHT TB PPDU.
[0016] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first resource unit may be an MRU / RU currently supported by the 802.11be standard, for example, the first resource unit is any of a 996+484-tone MRU, a 996+484+242-tone MRU, a 2×996+484-tone MRU, a 3×996-tone MRU, a 3×996+484-tone MRU, a 2×996-tone RU, or a 4×996-tone RU.
[0017] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first resource unit being a resource unit including more than 996 tones specifically includes that the first resource unit is a resource unit including a number of tones obtained by multiplying N by 996 (i.e., N*996), where N is a positive integer equal to or greater than 2. For example, a 2×996-tone RU includes 4×996-tone RU.
[0018] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the EHT TB PPDU includes second indication information, and one bit of the second indication information indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit (i.e., 996-tone RU) of the assigned first resource units. The second indication information may be placed in a Universal Signal (U-SIG) field of the EHT TB PPDU.
[0019] Optionally, the second indication information is represented by a bitmap, and the length of the bitmap is a fixed length, for example, 4 bits. One bit in the bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit. Alternatively, one bit in the bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 80 MHz bandwidth. If the first resource unit includes at least one resource unit with a size smaller than the 996-tone RU, the station cannot use the at least one resource unit with a size smaller than the 996-tone RU for transmission alone, and the at least one resource unit with a size smaller than the 996-tone RU must perform transmission together with all other 996-tone resource units in the first resource unit.
[0020] In this solution, we can see that a fixed-length bitmap is used in the U-SIG to indicate whether the EHT TB PPDU is transmitted in each 996-tone RU or each 80MHz bandwidth. This helps stations to transmit EHT TB PPDU in some or all of the assigned RUs / MRUs, and the access point to analyze the data of the EHT TB PPDU in the RU that actually transmits the EHT TB PPDU, reducing the reception complexity of the receiver (access point) and improving the analysis efficiency of the receiver (access point).
[0021] Optionally, the second indication information is represented by a bitmap, and the bitmap includes two parts, a first bit and a second bit. One bit in the first bits indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone RU (or one 80 MHz bandwidth). One bit in the second bits indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 242-tone RU (or one 20 MHz bandwidth) in the 996-tone RU. If the first resource unit includes at least one resource unit with a size smaller than the 996-tone RU, the station can independently use the at least one resource unit with a size smaller than the 996-tone RU for transmission. The length of the first bit may be a fixed length, for example, 4 bits. The length of the second bit may be related to the length or indication of the first bit. For example, the length of the second bit may be equal to the unused / reserved bits of the U-SIG minus the length of the first bit, or the length of the second bit may be obtained by multiplying the amount of 996-tone RU (or 80 MHz bandwidth) over which the transmission is to be made, as indicated by the first bit, by 4.
[0022] In this solution, a variable length bitmap is used by the U-SIG to fine-tune whether or not to transmit in each 20 MHz bandwidth within each 80 MHz bandwidth, resulting in more efficient use of spectrum resources.
[0023] Optionally, when all 20MHz subchannels in which the first resource unit allocated to the station is located are idle, the second instruction information is set to a default value of a universal signal ignore and validation subfield (U-SIG Disregard and Validate subfield) of a special user information field in a trigger frame to instruct the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the allocated first resource unit. That is, even if all 20MHz subchannels in which resource units smaller than 996-tone RU in the first resource unit are located are idle, resource units smaller than 996-tone RU cannot be transmitted individually, and transmission is performed together with all resource units larger than or equal to the 996-tone RU in the first resource unit.
[0024] In this solution, we restrict resource units smaller than 996-tone RU and resource units larger than or equal to 996-tone RU from transmitting together, so that the same station can transmit a consistent U-SIG in different 80MHz bandwidths, which is helpful for reception at the receiving side and reduces the complexity of preamble preparation by the station.
[0025] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the EHT TB PPDU includes second indication information, the second indication information indicating a second resource unit occupied by the EHT TB PPDU. The second resource unit occupied by the EHT TB PPDU is the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station. The second indication information is placed in the U U-SIG field of the EHT TB PPDU. The station transmits the same U-SIG in a different 80 MHz bandwidth where the second resource unit is located.
[0026] Optionally, the second resource unit comprises at least one resource unit of a size greater than or equal to a 996-tone RU. Alternatively, the second resource unit comprises one or more resource units of a bandwidth equal to or greater than 80 MHz.
[0027] Optionally, the second resource unit further includes at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU. Alternatively, the second resource unit further includes one or more resource units with a bandwidth less than 80 MHz. The resource units with a size smaller than 996-tone RU (or with a bandwidth less than 80 MHz) include one or more of the following: a resource unit with 484 carriers, i.e., 484-tone RU; a resource unit with 242 carriers, i.e., 242-tone RU; and a resource unit with less than 242 carriers. The resource units with 242 carriers include, but are not limited to, the following types: a resource unit with 106 carriers, i.e., 106-tone RU; a resource unit with 52 carriers, i.e., 52-tone RU; and a resource unit with 26 carriers, i.e., 26-tone RU.
[0028] Optionally, the second indication information is an index value, the index value identifying the second resource unit.
[0029] It can be seen that in this solution, the U-SIG directly indicates the second resource unit that the station uses for actual transmission to support the STA in transmitting the EHT TB PPDU using some or all of the allocated RU / MRU. This improves the reliability of the AP to obtain the resource unit that the STA actually uses to transmit the EHT TB PPDU, and improves the spectrum utilization. Moreover, the same station transmits a consistent U-SIG in different 80MHz bandwidths, reducing the complexity of preamble preparation by the station. Moreover, this solution allows the station to determine the MRU / RU to use for actual transmission based on the index, without having to analyze the meaning of each bit individually.
[0030] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the second resource unit is determined based on a clear channel assessment result of the station before the station receives the trigger frame. It should be understood that after the second resource unit is determined, the station can use the second resource unit to determine the second indication information. That is, the second indication information is also determined based on a clear channel assessment result of the station before the station receives the trigger frame.
[0031] In this solution, the second resource unit that the EHT TB PPDU may actually occupy is determined based on the clear channel assessment result before the trigger frame, so there is more time to prepare the EHT TB PPDU and there is no need to prepare multiple versions of the data, which reduces the requirements for the equipment capabilities.
[0032] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first indication information is placed in an EHT modified user information field in the trigger frame. If the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission on a portion of the first resource units assigned to the station, the station corresponding to the EHT modified user information field carrying the first indication information cannot participate in multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. That is, a station scheduled to perform uplink MU-MIMO transmission is not permitted to transmit a PPDU using a portion of the assigned resource units.
[0033] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first indication information is placed in a common information field or the special user information field in the trigger frame, the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit allocated to the station, and the first indication information further implicitly indicates that the trigger frame does not include a user information field for scheduling MU-MIMO transmission, i.e., a station scheduled to perform uplink MU-MIMO transmission is not permitted to transmit a PPDU using the portion of the allocated resource unit.
[0034] It can be seen that in this solution, when scheduling MU-MIMO transmission, the access point is restricted to scheduling stations participating in the MU-MIMO transmission to transmit EHT TB PPDUs using the portion of the allocated first resource unit, and the reception at the receiving side can be made consistent, which reduces the reception complexity.

[0068] The following clearly and completely describes the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application with reference to the accompanying drawings in the embodiments of the present application.
[0069] In the present description, unless otherwise specified, " / " means "or". For example, A / B may represent A or B. The term "and / or" in this specification indicates that only the association relationship describing the associated objects is described in this specification, and that three relationships may exist. For example, A and / or B may represent the following three cases: only A exists, both A and B exist, and only B exists. Furthermore, "at least one" means one or more, and "multiple" means two or more. Terms such as "first" and "second" do not limit the quantity and execution order, and terms such as "first" and "second" do not indicate clear differences.
[0070] In this application, the words "example" or "for example" are used to denote an example, illustration, or explanation. Any embodiment or design manner described in this application as an "example," "such as," or "for example" should not be described as being preferred or having more advantages over another embodiment or design manner. Rather, use of the words "example," "in an example," "for example," etc. is intended to present the relevant concept in a particular way.
[0071] In order to facilitate understanding of the method provided in the embodiment of the present application, the following describes the system architecture of the method provided in the embodiment of the present application. It can be understood that the system architecture described in the embodiment of the present application is intended to more clearly describe the technical solution in the embodiment of the present application, and does not constitute a limitation on the technical solution provided in the embodiment of the present application.
[0072] The embodiment of the present application provides a PPDU transmission method. Optionally, an EHT TB PPDU transmission method is provided. The trigger frame indicates that the station is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the assigned RUs, and the STA indicates the RUs actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU in a universal signal field (U-SIG) in the EHT TB PPDU (the RUs actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU are a part or all of the RUs among the multiple RUs assigned to the station), or indicates whether the station performs transmission in each 80 MHz bandwidth. In this way, the AP analyzes the data of the HE TB PPDU on the RU where the HE TB PPDU is actually transmitted, improves the analysis efficiency, reduces the reception complexity of the receiving side (AP), supports the station in transmitting the HE TB PPDU in a part of the RUs, and improves the utilization rate of the spectrum resources. The PPDU transmission method can be applied to a wireless communication system, for example, a wireless local area network system. The PPDU transmission method may be implemented by a communication device in the wireless communication system or a chip or processor in the communication device. The communication device may be an access point device or a station device. Alternatively, the communication device may be a wireless communication device supporting parallel transmission on multiple links. For example, the communication device may be called a multi-link device (MLD) or a multi-band device. Compared with a communication device supporting only single-link transmission, a multi-link device has a higher transmission efficiency and a higher throughput.
[0073] The technical solution provided in this application can be applied to various communication systems, such as systems using 802.11 standards. For example, 802.11 standards include, but are not limited to, 802.11be standards or next-generation 802.11 standards. A scenario in which the technical solution of this application is applied includes communication between an AP and one or more STAs. In the embodiments of this application, the term "communication" can also be described as "data transmission", "information transmission" or "transmission".
[0074] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an architecture of a wireless communication system according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 1, the wireless communication system may include one or more APs (e.g., AP100 in FIG. 1) and one or more STAs (e.g., STA200 and STA300 in FIG. 1). Both the AP and the STA support a WLAN communication protocol. The communication protocol may include 802.11be (also called Wi-Fi7 or EHT protocol), and may further include protocols such as 802.11ax and 802.11ac. Of course, the communication protocol may further include next-generation protocols such as 802.11be due to the continuous evolution and development of communication technology. WLAN is used as an example. The device for implementing the method in the present application may be an AP or STA in a WLAN, or a chip or processing system mounted on the AP or STA.
[0075] Optionally, an access point (e.g., AP100 in FIG. 1) in this application is a device having a wireless communication function, supports communication according to a WLAN protocol, and has a function of communicating with other devices (e.g., stations and other access points) in a WLAN. It is clear that an access point may further have a function of communicating with other devices. In a WLAN system, an access point can be called an access point station (AP STA). A device having a wireless communication function may be an entire device, or a chip or a processing system mounted in the entire device. The device mounted with the chip or processing system may implement the method and function in this embodiment of this application under the control of the chip or processing system. An AP in the embodiment of this application is a device that provides services to STAs and may support 802.11 series protocols. For example, an AP may be a communication entity, such as a communication server, a router, a switch, or a bridge. An AP may include various forms of macro base stations, micro base stations, relay stations, etc. Of course, an AP may alternatively be chips and processing systems in these devices in various forms to implement the method and function in this embodiment of this application.
[0076] Optionally, a station in this application (e.g., STA200 and STA300 in FIG. 1) is a device having a wireless communication function, supports communication according to a WLAN protocol, and has a function of communicating with other stations or access points in the WLAN. In a WLAN system, a station can be called a non-access point station (non-AP STA). For example, a STA is any user communication device that allows a user to communicate with an AP and further communicate with a WLAN. A device having a wireless communication function can be an entire device, or a chip or a processing system mounted in the entire device. A device equipped with a chip or a processing system can implement the method and functions in this embodiment of the application under the control of the chip or the processing system. For example, a STA can be a user device that can connect to the Internet, such as a tablet computer, a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a notebook computer, an Ultra-mobile Personal Computer (UMPC), a handheld computer, a netbook, a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), or a mobile phone. Alternatively, the STA may be an Internet of Things node in the Internet of Things, an in-vehicle communication device in the Internet of Vehicles, an entertainment device, a gaming device or system, a Global Positioning System device, etc. The STA may alternatively be a chip and processing system within the above terminals.
[0077] WLAN systems can provide high-speed and low-latency transmission. With the continuous evolution of WLAN application scenarios, WLAN systems are applied to more scenarios or industries, such as the Internet of Things industry, the Internet of Cars industry, the banking industry, corporate offices, stadium exhibition halls, concert halls, hotel rooms, dormitories, hospital wards, classrooms, supermarkets, squares, streets, production workshops, warehouses, etc. Of course, devices (such as access points or stations) supporting WLAN communication can be sensor nodes in smart cities (e.g., smart water meters, smart electricity meters, smart air detection nodes), smart devices in smart homes (e.g., smart cameras, projectors, displays, televisions, stereos, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.), nodes in the Internet of Things, entertainment terminals (e.g., augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), or other wearable devices), smart devices in smart offices (e.g., printers, projectors, speakers, or stereos), vehicle devices in the Internet of Vehicles, infrastructure in everyday life scenarios (e.g., vending machines, self-service navigation stations in supermarkets, self-service cashier devices, self-service ordering devices), devices in large sports or music venues, etc. The specific types of STAs and APs are not limited in this embodiment of the present application and are merely examples for the purposes of explanation herein.
[0078] It should be understood that the 802-11 standard focuses on the physical layer (PHY) part and the media access control (MAC) layer. For example, FIG. 2A is a schematic diagram of the structure of an access point according to an embodiment of the present application. The AP may be multi-antenna / multi-radio frequency or single-antenna / single-radio frequency. The antenna / radio frequency is used to transmit / receive data packets (herein, the data packets are sometimes referred to as physical layer protocol data units, i.e., PPDUs). In the implementation, the antenna or radio frequency part of the AP may be separated from the AP body, i.e., located remotely. In FIG. 2A, the AP may include a physical layer processing circuit and a media access control processing circuit. The physical layer processing circuit may be configured to process physical layer signals, and the MAC layer processing circuit may be configured to process MAC layer signals. In another example, FIG. 2B is a schematic structural diagram of a station according to an embodiment of the present application. FIG. 2B is a schematic structural diagram of a single-antenna / single-radio frequency STA. In a practical scenario, the STA may further be a multi-antenna / multi-radio frequency device with more than two antennas. The antenna / radio frequency is used to transmit and receive data packets. In an implementation, the antenna or radio frequency part of the STA may be separate from the STA body, i.e., located remotely. In FIG. 2B, the STA may include a PHY processing circuit and a MAC processing circuit. The physical layer processing circuit may be configured to process physical layer signals, and the MAC layer processing circuit may be configured to process MAC layer signals.
[0079] The above briefly describes the system architecture in the embodiment of the present application. In order to better understand the technical solution in the embodiment of the present application, the following describes the relevant content in the embodiment of the present application.
[0080] 1. Trigger frame-based uplink scheduling transmission method in the 802.11ax standard
[0081] In a WLAN, before uplink data transmission, a STA needs to obtain a transmission opportunity (TXOP) through channel contention. For example, a STA performs channel contention based on an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) scheme to obtain a transmission opportunity. In 802.11ax, a trigger frame-based uplink scheduling transmission method is introduced. Specifically, FIG. 3 is a schematic flowchart of a trigger frame-based uplink scheduling transmission method in the 802.11ax standard. As shown in FIG. 3, the trigger frame-based uplink scheduling transmission method in the 802.11ax standard includes the following steps:
[0082] Step 1: The AP sends a trigger frame, schedules one or more STAs using the trigger frame, and transmits the HE TB PPDU. The trigger frame includes resource scheduling and another parameter used by one or more STAs to transmit uplink sub-PPDUs. For the specific frame format of the trigger frame, please refer to the corresponding description in the 802.11ax standard. Details will not be described here. The trigger frame includes a common information field and a user information list field. The common information field includes common information that all STAs read, and the user information list field includes one or more user information fields, each of which includes information that each STA needs to read. In the user information field, the association identification 12 (AID12) indicates the association identifier of the STA, and the resource unit allocation subfield indicates the location of the resource unit (RU) allocated to the STA (STA indicated by AID12).
[0083] Step 2: After receiving the trigger frame, the STA parses the trigger frame to obtain the user information field that matches the AID of the STA, and then transmits the HE TB PPDU to the RU indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield included in the user information field. For the names and meanings of the fields included in the HE TB PPDU, please refer to the corresponding descriptions in the 802.11ax standard. Details will not be described here. It should be understood that in the HE TB PPDU, the legacy short training field (L-STF) to the high efficiency signal field A (HE-SIG-A) is all transmitted in 20 MHz units. When the bandwidth is greater than 20 MHz, the overlap transmission from the L-STF to the HE-SIG-A is performed in 20 MHz units. In the HE TB PPDU, the entire bandwidth from the high efficiency short training field (HE-STF) to the data field is divided into one or more resource units, and the HE-STF is transmitted in the Data field in the HE TB PPDU using one or more resource units.
[0084] Step 3: After receiving the uplink multi-user PPDUs sent by one or more STAs, the AP returns an acknowledgment frame, where the uplink multi-user PPDUs include the HE TB PPDUs sent by one or more STAs.
[0085] 2. Some multiple resource units (MRU) / RU formats supported by the 802.11be standard
[0086] In the 802.11ax standard, only one RU can be assigned to one STA. In the next-generation 802.11be standard, multiple RUs can be assigned to one STA. It should be understood that assigning multiple RUs to one STA also means combining and assigning multiple RUs to the STA. Therefore, unless otherwise specified below, assigning multiple RUs to one STA and combining RUs have the same meaning.
[0087] In this application, we mainly consider the case where the MRU / RU format supported by the 802.11be standard includes at least one resource unit (i.e., 996-tone RU) with a bandwidth equal to 80 MHz. It should be understood that the 996-tone RU can be understood as an RU that includes 996 tones, and the bandwidth of each 996-tone RU is 80 MHz. The following describes some MRU / RUs supported by the 802.11be standard. It should be understood that the 802.11be standard supports more than the multiple MRU / RU formats listed in this specification. For details, please refer to the relevant description in the 802.11be standard. Here, an example is used for illustration purposes only.
[0088] Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 996+484-tone MRU in the 802.11be standard. 996+484-tone MRU indicates the combination of one 996-tone RU and one 484-tone RU. 484-tone RU can be understood as an RU that contains 484 tones. Thus, Figure 4 shows four combination ways of one 996-tone RU and one 484-tone RU supported in the 802.11be standard.
[0089] Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 996+484+242-tone MRU in the 802.11be standard. 996+484+242-tone MRU indicates a combination of one 996-tone RU, one 484-tone RU, and one 242-tone RU. A 242-tone RU can be understood as an RU that contains 242 tones. Thus, Figure 5 shows eight ways of combination of one 996-tone RU, one 484-tone RU, and one 242-tone RU supported by the 802.11be standard.
[0090] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 2×996+484-tone MRU in the 802.11be standard. 2×996+484-tone MRU shows the combination of two 996-tone RUs and one 484-tone RU. Therefore, Figure 6 shows 12 ways of combination of two 996-tone RUs and one 484-tone RU supported by the 802.11be standard.
[0091] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of the possible ways of 3×996-tone MRU in the 802.11be standard. The 3×996-tone MRU shows the combination of three 996-tones. Therefore, Figure 7 shows the four ways of combination of three 996-tone RUs supported by the 802.11be standard.
[0092] Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 3×996+484-tone MRU in the 802.11be standard. 3×996+484-tone MRU shows the combination of three 996-tone RUs and one 484-tone RU. Therefore, Figure 8 shows 12 ways of combination of three 996-tone RUs and one 484-tone RU supported by the 802.11be standard.
[0093] Furthermore, the combination of four 996-tone RUs is also called RU, i.e., 4×996-tone RU, and the combination of two 996-tone RUs is also called RU, i.e., 2×996-tone RU. Figure 9 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 2×996-tone RU in 802.11be standard. 2×996-tone RU shows the combination of two 996-tones. Figure 9 shows two ways of combination of two 996-tone RUs supported in 802.11be standard. Figure 10 is a schematic diagram of possible ways of 4×996-tone RU in 802.11be standard. 4×996-tone RU shows the combination of four 996-tones. Figure 10 shows one way of combination of four 996-tone RUs supported in 802.11be standard.
[0094] 3. 802.11be RU Combining (i.e., assignment of multiple RUs to one STA) Restrictions
[0095] In the 802.11be standard, multiple RUs can be assigned to one STA, so the 802.11be standard also specifies constraints for assigning multiple RUs to one STA. (1) Small RUs can only be combined with small RUs to form MRUs (small size RUs can be combined with small size RUs to form small size MRUs), and large RUs can only be combined with large RUs to form MRUs (large size RUs can be combined with large size RUs to form large size MRUs). That is, large RUs cannot be combined with small RUs. RUs of the same size or more than 242 tones are called large RUs (RUs of the same size or more than 242 tones are defined as large size RUs), and RUs of less than 242 tones are called small RUs (RUs of less than 242 tones are defined as small size RUs). Optionally, the first constraint can also be further understood as follows: A first type RU can only be combined with a first type RU to form an MRU, and a second type RU can only be combined with a second type RU to form an MRU. That is, RUs of different types cannot be combined. Here, the first and second types can be distinguished based on the size of the RU, for example, a first type RU is an RU that contains 242 or more tones, and a second type RU is an RU that contains less than 242 tones.
[0096] (2) For the combination of small RUs, the 802.11be standard currently supports two combination methods: Method 1: combination of 106-tone RU and 26-tone RU, Method 2: combination of 52-tone RU and 26-tone RU. For specific combination methods, please refer to the relevant explanations in the 802.11be standard document. Details are not described here. 106-tone RU refers to an RU containing 106 tones, 26-tone RU refers to an RU containing 26 tones, and 52-tone RU refers to an RU containing 52 tones.
[0097] (3) For combination of large RUs, the 802.11be standard currently supports two combination methods under 80 MHz bandwidth. Method 1: combination of 484-tone RU and 242-tone RU. Method 2: combination of 242-tone RU and 242-tone RU. For combination methods in 160 MHz bandwidth, 240 MHz bandwidth, and 320 MHz bandwidth, this application considers the case where the MRU / RU format supported by the 802.11be standard includes at least one 996-tone RU. Possible combination methods are shown in Figures 4 to 10, and details will not be described here.
[0098] 4. Procedure for TB PPDU transmission with Carrier Sensing (CS)
[0099] Optionally, the trigger frame includes a carrier sensing request (CS required) field indicating that the station needs to perform carrier sensing. Thus, when performing HE TB PPDU transmission, the STA performs carrier sensing on one or more 20 MHz subchannels in which the RUs assigned to the station are located, and detects whether the sensed energy exceeds a preset threshold. If it is detected that the detected energy exceeds the preset threshold, it is determined that the 20 MHz subchannel is busy. If it is detected that the detected energy does not exceed the preset threshold, it is determined that the 20 MHz subchannel is idle. The 802.11ax standard specifies that if at least one 20 MHz subchannel in the frequency range in which the RUs assigned to the STA are located is busy, the HE TB PPDU cannot be transmitted to prevent interference with other transmissions. For example, FIG. 11A is a schematic diagram of HE TB PPDU transmission in which carrier sensing is performed. As shown in FIG. 11A, the resource unit allocated to STA1 is a 484-tone RU, the bandwidth corresponding to the 484-tone RU is 40 MHz, and includes two 20 MHz subchannels, subchannel 1 and subchannel 2. STA1 performs carrier sensing before transmission. If STA1 detects that subchannel 1 is busy and subchannel 2 is idle, STA1 cannot perform transmission in the allocated 484-tone RU. As for STA2, the resource unit allocated to STA2 is a 242-tone RU, the bandwidth corresponding to the 242-tone RU is 20 MHz, and includes one 20 MHz subchannel. STA2 performs carrier sensing before transmission. If STA2 detects that the 20 MHz subchannel is idle, STA2 may transmit a HE TB PPDU in the allocated 242-tone RU.
[0100] The 802.11be standard further considers a scenario in which multiple RUs are assigned to one STA. Therefore, when performing EHT TB PPDU transmission, the STA also performs carrier sensing on one or more 20 MHz subchannels in which multiple RUs assigned to the STA are located. Based on the result of carrier sensing, there are two possible transmission methods. The first possible transmission method is similar to the transmission method specified in the 802.11ax standard. If at least one 20 MHz subchannel among the multiple 20 MHz subchannels in which multiple RUs are located is busy, the EHT TB PPDU cannot be transmitted. In the second possible transmission method, if some 20 MHz subchannels among the multiple 20 MHz subchannels in which multiple RUs are located are busy, transmission can be performed in a band in which the 20 MHz subchannel is idle. For example, FIG. 11B is a schematic diagram of EHT TB PPDU transmission in which carrier sensing is performed. As shown in FIG. 11B, the resource unit allocated to the STA is 484+242-tone RU, i.e., a combination of 484-tone RU and 242-tone RU, and the equivalent bandwidth corresponding to the 484+242-tone MRU is 60 MHz, which includes three 20 MHz subchannels, namely subchannel 1, subchannel 2, and subchannel 4. The STA performs carrier sensing before transmission. If it finds that subchannel 2 and subchannel 4 are idle and subchannel 1 is busy, the STA may transmit HE TB PPDU on subchannel 2 (i.e., a part of the allocated 484-tone RU) and subchannel 4 (i.e., the allocated 242-tone RU).
[0101] From the two possible transmission methods, it can be seen that in the first possible transmission method, transmission can be performed only when all the allocated 20 MHz subchannels are idle. As a result, this method causes a waste of spectrum resources. In the second possible transmission method, transmission can be performed in some idle 20 MHz subchannels to use spectrum resources more efficiently. However, it is necessary to use corresponding signaling for indication, which increases the reception complexity of the receiving side.
[0102] Therefore, the embodiment of the present application provides a PPDU transmission method. Specifically, an EHT TB PPDU transmission method is provided. The trigger frame indicates that the station is permitted to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the assigned RUs, and the station indicates in the U-SIG in the EHT TB PPDU which RUs are actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU (the RUs actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU are some or all of the RUs among the multiple RUs assigned to the station), or indicates whether the station performs transmission in each 80MHz bandwidth. This can support the STA in transmitting the EHT TB PPDU using some or all of the assigned RUs / MRUs, that is, when some 20MHz subchannels are busy, the EHT TB PPDU can also be transmitted, improving the utilization rate of spectrum resources. Furthermore, this helps the AP to analyze the data of the EHT TB PPDU in the RUs where the EHT TB PPDU is actually transmitted, reducing the reception complexity of the receiving side (AP) and improving the analysis efficiency of the receiving side (AP).
[0103] The following further describes the technical solution of the present application with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0104] The AP and STA in this application may be a single link device, or may be a functional entity or functional unit in a multi-link device. For example, the AP in this application is the AP in the AP multi-link device, and the STA is the STA in the station multi-link device. This is not limited in this application.
[0105] If necessary, both the access point and the station in the present application can support the 802.11be protocol and further support other WLAN communication protocols, such as the 802.11ax protocol and the 802.11ac protocol. It should be understood that the access point and the station in the present application can further support the next-generation protocol of 802.11be. That is, the method provided in the present application can be applied not only to the 802.11be protocol but also to the next-generation protocol of 802.11be.
[0106] 12 is a schematic flowchart of a PPDU transmission method according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 12, the PPDU transmission method includes, but is not limited to, the following steps:
[0107] S101: An access point transmits a trigger frame, the trigger frame indicating a first resource unit allocated to a station, the trigger frame including first indication information, the first indication information indicating whether the station can perform very high throughput trigger-based physical layer protocol data unit EHT TB PPDU transmission in a part of the first resource unit allocated to the station, the first resource unit is a resource unit including 996 or more tones, or the first resource unit is a multi-resource unit MRU, the MRU including at least one resource unit including 996 or more tones.
[0108] S102: A station receives a trigger frame.
[0109] Optionally, the access point generates and transmits a trigger frame. The trigger frame is used to trigger one or more stations to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission, and the trigger frame further indicates the resource units that the one or more stations use to perform transmission, and indicates that the one or more stations need to perform carrier sensing. For ease of explanation, the embodiment of the present application uses one station as an example. In other words, the trigger frame further indicates the first resource unit allocated to the (specific) station, and instructs the station to perform carrier sensing. The first resource unit is a resource unit that includes more than 996 tones, or the first resource unit is an MRU, and the MRU includes at least one resource unit that includes 996 or more tones. For example, the first resource unit allocated to the station may be any MRU shown in Figures 4 to 8, or any RU shown in Figures 9 and 10. For example, if the first resource unit is 996+484+242-tone MRU, it is understood that the first resource unit includes one 996-tone RU, one 484-tone RU, and one 242-tone RU. In another example, if the first resource unit is 3×996+484-tone MRU, it is understood that the first resource unit includes one 996-tone RU and one 484-tone RU. The first resource unit is an RU that includes N multiplied by 996 (i.e., N×996) tones, where N is a positive integer equal to or greater than 2. For example, the first resource unit is 2×996-tone RU. It may be understood that the first resource unit is a combination / concatenation of two 996-tone RUs. The bandwidth corresponding to one 996-tone RU is 80MHz, and the case where the MRU / RU includes at least one 996-tone RU is considered in this embodiment of the present application. Thus, the first resource unit may include multiple resource units having a bandwidth of 80 MHz or more, or the first resource unit may include at least one resource unit having a bandwidth of 80 MHz or more and at least one resource unit having a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz.
[0110] 13A and 13B are schematic diagrams of a frame format of an 802.11be trigger frame according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 13A and 13B, the 802.11be trigger frame includes, but is not limited to, a common information field and a user information list field. The common information field includes common information that needs to be read by all STAs (STAs here include at least one of HE STAs and EHT STAs). An EHT STA in this specification is a station that supports an EHT protocol, an HE protocol, and a previous protocol. In some scenarios and embodiments, the latest protocol supported by a HE STA in this application is the HE protocol, but the HE STA does not support a future Wi-Fi protocol, such as an EHT protocol. However, this application should not be understood as being limited to the fact that all HE STAs cannot support a future Wi-Fi protocol. The common information field includes, but is not limited to, a carrier sensing required subfield. The carrier sensing required subfield indicates that a station needs to perform carrier sensing. The User Information List field includes, but is not limited to, one special user information field (the value of the association identifier 12 subfield is 2007) and one or more EHT variant user information fields. The special user information field includes common information that all EHT STAs need to read. The EHT variant user information field includes information that one EHT STA needs to read. The EHT variant user information field includes, but is not limited to, an association identification 12 (AID12) subfield and an RU allocation subfield. The AID12 subfield indicates the association identifier of the STA, and the RU allocation subfield indicates the location of the resource units allocated to the STA (i.e., the STA indicated by the AID12 subfield).
[0111] Optionally, the trigger frame includes first indication information, which indicates whether the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station. It should be understood that the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station may be referred to as an adapted / adaptive RU. Similarly, the TB PPDU transmitted in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station may be referred to as an adapted / adaptive TB PPDU. That is, the first indication information indicates whether the station is permitted / supported to transmit an adaptive TB PPDU in the adapted RU.
[0112] Optionally, the first indication information can be placed in an EHT variant user information field in the trigger frame. If the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit allocated to the station (or if the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to transmit adaptive TB PPDU in the adaptive RU), the station corresponding to the EHT variant user information field carrying the first indication information cannot participate in multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. That is, the AP cannot schedule the same station to perform both uplink MU-MIMO transmission and adaptive RU transmission. That is, a station scheduled to perform uplink MU-MIMO transmission is not allowed to transmit PPDU using the adaptive RU.
[0113] Optionally, the first indication information can be placed in a common information field or a special user information field in the trigger frame. If the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station (or if the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to transmit adaptive TB PPDU in the adaptive RU), the AP cannot schedule a multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. That is, the first indication information also implicitly indicates that the trigger frame does not include a user information field for scheduling MU-MIMO transmission. Alternatively, the first indication information directly indicates whether to schedule MU-MIMO transmission. If the first indication information indicates to schedule MU-MIMO transmission, it indicates that the station cannot perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station or that the station cannot transmit adaptive TB PPDU using the adaptive RU. If the first indication information indicates that MU-MIMO transmission is not scheduled, it indicates that the station may perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit allocated to the station, or that the station may transmit an adaptive TB PPDU using an adaptive RU.
[0114] When an AP triggers the scheduling of an MU-MIMO transmission, multiple STAs share an RU. Therefore, in this case, when a STA is allowed to perform an EHT TB PPDU transmission in a portion of the resource unit assigned to the STA, multiple STAs cannot synchronously change the RU for actual transmission. As a result, inconsistent reception occurs at the receiving side, and the reception complexity increases. For example, when an AP schedules an MU MIMO transmission and assigns one RU to two STAs for use, assume that the RU contains four subchannels, from subchannel 1 to subchannel 4. Assume that STA1 detects that only subchannel 1 and subchannel 2 are idle in the RU, and STA2 detects that only subchannel 4 is idle in the RU. When scheduling an MU MIMO transmission, if the AP allows a STA to perform a transmission in a portion of the resource unit assigned to the STA, STA1 changes the U-SIG in STA1's HE TB PPDU, and STA2 also changes the U-SIG in STA2's HE TB PPDU, but the values of the two U-SIGs may be different. When receiving a multi-user PPDU at an RU, the AP cannot distinguish between the information of STA1 and the information of STA2 on the RU. As a result, the receiver cannot receive the PPDU in a unified manner, resulting in inconsistent reception at the receiver.
[0115] Optionally, the length of the first indication information can be 1 bit. For example, setting the bit to 1 indicates that the station is permitted or supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station, or setting the bit to 1 indicates that MU MIMO transmission is not scheduled. Setting the bit to 0 indicates that the station is not permitted or supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station, or setting the bit to 0 indicates that MU MIMO transmission is scheduled. It should be understood that setting the bit to 1 indicates that the station is permitted or supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station, or indicates that MU MIMO transmission is not scheduled. Setting the bit to 0 indicates that the station is permitted or supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station, or indicates that MU MIMO transmission is not scheduled. This is not limited in this embodiment of the present application.
[0116] It should be further understood that in this embodiment of the present application, setting the first indication information to a first value (1 or 0) indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission on the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station, and also implicitly indicates that the trigger frame does not include a user information field for scheduling MU-MIMO transmission. Alternatively, setting the first indication information to a first value (1 or 0) indicates that no MU-MIMO transmission is scheduled, and also implicitly indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission on the portion of the first resource unit assigned to the station.
[0117] S103: The station transmits an EHT TB PPDU according to the indication of the first indication information in the trigger frame.
[0118] S104: The access point receives the EHT TB PPDU.
[0119] Optionally, in this embodiment of the present application, the first indication information indicates that the station is permitted / supported to perform EHT TB PPDU transmission in a portion of the first resource unit allocated to the station. Thus, after receiving the trigger frame, the station determines an available second resource unit (or adaptive RU), i.e., a resource unit actually occupied by a TB PPDU, based on a clear channel assessment (CCA) result and the first resource unit allocated to the station, and generates and transmits a TB PPDU (e.g., HE TB PPDU) that is adapted to the second resource unit. The second resource unit is a part or the whole of the first resource unit allocated to the station. The following describes some possible ways of determining the second resource unit.
[0120] For method 1, please refer to Fig. 14. Fig. 14 is a schematic diagram of a time sequence of PPDU transmission according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 14, the station can determine the state (idle or busy) of all 20MHz subchannels in which the first resource units allocated to the station are located based on the clear channel assessment (CCA) result obtained after receiving the trigger frame. Then, it determines the second resource units based on all the idle 20MHz subchannels in which the first resource units are located, and prepares (or generates) and transmits the corresponding EHT TB PPDU. It should be understood that the resource units actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU are the second resource units.
[0121] Method 2. Due to the limitations of the station's hardware or software, after seeing the result of CCA after receiving the trigger frame, the station may not be prepared for the EHT TB PPDU occupying the second resource unit in short interframe space (SIFS). Therefore, the station may prepare / generate in advance the EHT TB PPDU and potential EHT TB PPDU (where the potential EHT TB PPDU is the EHT TB PPDU on the MRU / RU where the actual EHT TB PPDU is transmitted) occupying the RU / MRU (first resource unit) assigned to the station by the access point. However, this means that the station needs to prepare multiple versions of the EHT TB PPDU, which greatly increases the requirements for device capabilities.
[0122] Method 3: The second resource unit is determined based on the station's clear channel assessment result before the station receives the trigger frame, and the first resource unit indicated by the trigger frame is assigned to the station. It should be understood that after the second resource unit is determined, the second indication information may be determined using the second resource unit. Specifically, refer to FIG. 15. FIG. 15 is a schematic diagram of a time sequence of another PPDU transmission according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 15, the station can determine the state (idle or busy) of all 20 MHz subchannels in which the first resource unit assigned to the station is located based on the station's CCA result before the trigger frame is received. The station determines whether the channel is busy or idle based on the station's CCA result before the trigger frame is first received. In the process of receiving the trigger frame, if it is found that the AP has assigned RU / MRU to the station, the station determines the size of the RU (i.e., the second resource unit) occupied by the HE TB PPDU to respond based on the result indicating that the channel is busy or idle and the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) assigned to the station. If all 20MHz subchannels in which the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) allocated by the AP to the station are located are idle, prepare / generate the HE TB PPDU using the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) allocated by the AP to the station. Optionally, if some 20MHz subchannels in which the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) allocated by the AP to the station are located are idle, select a protocol-supported adaptive RU / MRU (i.e., the second resource unit) from the idle 20MHz subchannels, and prepare / generate the HE TB PPDU using the protocol-supported adaptive RU / MRU (i.e., the second resource unit). Optionally, if all 20MHz subchannels in which the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) allocated by the AP to the station are located are busy, or some 20MHz subchannels are idle but the protocol-supported adaptive RU / MRU does not match in the idle 20MHz subchannels, there is no need to prepare the HE TB PPDU.Alternatively, if all 20MHz subchannels in which RU / MRUs allocated to the station by the AP are located are busy, or some 20MHz subchannels are idle but the adaptive RU / MRUs supported by the protocol do not match in the idle 20MHz subchannels, the station selects an RU / MRU supported by the protocol to prepare / generate the HE TB PPDU according to experience or the station's algorithm, or prepares / generates the HE TB PPDU using the RU / MRU (i.e., the first resource unit) allocated to the station by the AP. After receiving the trigger frame, the station performs CCA again and makes a second decision on whether the channel is busy or idle. If all 20MHz subchannels occupied by the EHT TB PPDU to be transmitted (or the prepared EHT TB PPDU) are idle, the EHT TB PPDU to be transmitted (or the prepared) is transmitted. If at least one 20 MHz subchannel of all 20 MHz subchannels of an EHT TB PPDU to be transmitted (or a prepared EHT TB PPDU) is busy, the transmission is not performed.
[0123] For example, referring to FIG. 16, FIG. 16 is a schematic diagram of yet another PPDU transmission time sequence according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 16, the second resource unit allocated to STA2 is 996+484-tone MRU. If the station determines that the 996-tone RU is idle and the 484-tone RU is busy based on the station's CCA result before receiving the trigger frame (i.e., the first performed CCA), STA2 prepares / generates an HE TB PPDU to be transmitted in the 996-tone RU. After receiving the trigger frame, the station performs a decision based on the station's CCA result after receiving the trigger frame (i.e., the second performed CCA). If the station determines that the 996-tone RU is still idle, the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU (as shown in 16a of FIG. 16). In this case, if the station determines that at least one of the four 20MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located is busy, no transmission is performed (as shown in 16b of FIG. 16).
[0124] In method 3, after seeing the CCA result before receiving the trigger frame, the station knows that it has enough time to prepare the HE TB PPDU. This means that the station does not need to prepare the HE TB PPDU occupying the first resource unit and the potential HE TB PPDU occupying the second resource unit in advance. That is, the station does not need to prepare multiple versions of data, which can reduce the requirements for device capabilities. Also, the station sees the CCA result after the trigger frame is received and makes a second decision on whether the channel is busy or idle, and does not transmit when at least one 20 MHz subchannel is busy among all 20 MHz subchannels of the EHT TB PPDU to be transmitted (or prepared), thereby reducing the possibility of collision.
[0125] Optionally, the EHT TB PPDU includes second indication information, the second indication information indicating second resource units occupied by the EHT TB PPDU, and the second resource units occupied by the EHT TB PPDU are a part or all of the first resource units assigned to the station. The second resource units include at least one resource unit with a size greater than or equal to 996-tone RU. That is, the second resource units include at least one resource unit with a bandwidth equal to or greater than 80 MHz. Alternatively, the second resource units include at least one resource unit with a size greater than or equal to 996-tone RU and at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU.
[0126] Optionally, the EHT TB PPDU includes second indication information, where one bit in the second indication information indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit in the assigned first resource unit. Alternatively, one bit in the second indication information indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in an 80 MHz bandwidth in the assigned first resource unit.
[0127] Optionally, after the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU, the access point correspondingly receives the U-SIG field of the EHT TB PPDU for each 20 MHz bandwidth in the first resource unit allocated to the station. After correctly receiving any U-SIG field from the station, the access point can analyze the information about the second resource unit occupied by the EHT TB PPDU according to the indication of the second indication information of the U-SIG, and obtain the uplink data transmitted by the station.
[0128] Optionally, the second indication information can be placed in the U-SIG included in the EHT TB PPDU. Figure 17 is a schematic diagram of a frame format of the EHT TB PPDU according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 17, the EHT TB PPDU includes, but is not limited to, the following fields: a legacy short training field, a legacy long training field, a legacy signal field, a repeating legacy information field, a universal signal field, a very high throughput short training field, a very high throughput long training field, data, and a packet extension. Please refer to Table 1 for the meaning of the fields included in the EHT TB PPDU. Table 1: Meaning of the fields in the EHT TB PPDU [Table 1]
[0129] As shown in FIG. 17, the universal signal field (U-SIG) includes an RU transmission indication field. The RU transmission indication field carries second indication information indicating the second resource unit that the EHT TB PPDU actually occupies. Alternatively, one bit of the second indication information indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in a 996-tone resource unit (i.e., 996-tone RU) in the allocated first resource unit. The U-SIG includes some information, for example, a cyclic redundancy code (CRC) as shown in FIG. 17. However, the U-SIG has some unused (or idle) bits, which may be used to carry the first indication information. Specifically, the possible contents included in the U-SIG are shown in Table 2. From Table 2, it can be seen that B20 to B25 (total of 6 bits) of U-SIG-1 are unused (or idle), and B2 of U-SIG-2 and B11 to B15 of U-SIG-2 (total of 5 bits) are unused (or idle). Therefore, for example, the unused (or idle) bits of the U-SIG can be used to transmit the first indication information. Table 2: Content that can be included in a U-SIG [Table 2]
[0130] In addition, the U-SIG is copied and transmitted using 242-tone RU as the unit granularity in the first resource unit assigned to the station, that is, the U-SIG is copied and transmitted in multiple 20 MHz subchannels. Therefore, if the AP correctly receives the U-SIG in one 242-tone RU (or one 20 MHz subchannel), the AP can obtain the second indication information transmitted in the U-SIG and determine the RU used by the STA for actual transmission.
[0131] It should be noted that the names and lengths of the fields included in the U-SIG field shown in FIG. 17 are not limited to those in this embodiment of the present application.
[0132] Above is the detailed description of the frame format of the EHT TB PPDU. Next, the possible implementation of the second indication information will be described in detail.
[0133] Implementation 1: One bit in the second indication information indicates whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit in the allocated first resource units.
[0134] Implementation 1.1: The second indication information is represented by a bitmap with a fixed length. That is, the RU transmission indication field of the U-SIG exists in the form of a bitmap. For example, the fixed length of the bitmap is 4 bits. One bit in the bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit (or one 80 MHz bandwidth). It may be understood that the station does not perform transmission in each 996-tone resource unit of the 320 MHz bandwidth. If the station does not have an assigned resource unit in one 996-tone resource unit, the station does not perform transmission in the 996-tone resource unit. That is, if the station does not have an assigned resource unit in the 80 MHz bandwidth, the station cannot transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, the station can transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the 996-tone resource unit only if the station has an assigned resource unit in the 996-tone resource unit.
[0135] Optionally, if all 20 MHz subchannels in which the first resource unit assigned to the station is located are idle, the second instruction information is set to the default value of the Universal Signal Disregard and Validate subfield of the special user information field in the trigger frame to instruct the station to transmit an EHT TB PPDU in the first resource unit assigned to it. For specific values of the bits of the Universal Signal Disregard and Validate subfield set in the value of the second information (or RU transmission instruction field) of the U-SIG, see Table 3 or the current description of 802.11be. [Table 3] [Table 3]
[0136] To better understand implementation 1.1, the following uses some examples for explanation: In the following examples, the first indication information or the RU transmission indication field is represented by a bitmap with a length of 4 bits.
[0137] Example 1: Using an example where the first resource unit assigned to a station is a 996+484-tone MRU. Assume that the 996-tone RU of the 996+484-tone MRU is located in the first 80 MHz bandwidth (i.e., the 996-tone RU of the 996+484-tone MRU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field), and the 484-tone RU is located in the 40 MHz bandwidth of the second 80 MHz bandwidth (i.e., the 484-tone RU of the 996+484-tone MRU corresponds to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field). Setting a bit (or bitmap) in the RU transmission indication field to 0 indicates that the station will not transmit in the 996-tone resource unit (or 80 MHz bandwidth) corresponding to that bit. Setting a bit to 1 indicates that the station will transmit in the 996-tone resource unit (or 80 MHz bandwidth) corresponding to that bit. It should be understood that whether setting a bit in the RU transmission indication field (or bitmap) to 1 indicates that transmission is to be performed or setting a bit to 0 indicates that transmission is to be performed is not limited in this embodiment of the present application. Furthermore, it should be understood that the four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) corresponding to the four bits in the RU transmission indication field (or bitmap) may use the same or different methods to indicate that transmission is to be performed.
[0138] Please refer to Table 4a. In Table 4a, 1 indicates that a transmission is made and 0 indicates that no transmission is made. Four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission is made in the same way. That is, four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) use a 1 to indicate that a transmission is made. Please refer to Table 4b. In Table 4b, 0 indicates that a transmission is made and 1 indicates that no transmission is made. Four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission is made in the same way. That is, four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) use a 0 to indicate that a transmission is made. Please refer to Table 4c. In Table 4c, four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission is made using different methods. For example, a 1 may be used in the first 80 MHz bandwidth and the third 80 MHz bandwidth to indicate that a transmission is taking place, and a 0 may be used in the second 80 MHz bandwidth and the fourth 80 MHz bandwidth to indicate that a transmission is taking place.
[0139] Table 4a, Table 4b, and Table 4c show different indication methods for the busy / idle status of RUs in a 996+484-tone MRU, and the corresponding values and meanings of the RU transmission indication field. Table 4a [Table 4] Table 4b [Table 5] Table 4c [Table 6]
[0140] In Tables 4a to 4c, "idle" means that all 20 MHz subchannels in which RUs in the same column as "idle" are located are in the idle state, and "busy" means that at least one 20 MHz subchannel in which RUs in the same column as "busy" are located is in the busy state. The meaning of the rows in the table is explained using Table 4a as an example. For the meaning of the rows in Tables 4b and 4c, refer to the meaning of the corresponding rows in Table 4a. Details will not be explained here. As shown in Table 4a, if all 20 MHz subchannels in which 996-tone RUs are located are in the idle state and at least one 20 MHz subchannel in which 484-tone RUs are located is in the busy state, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 996-tone RU. That is, when the 996-tone RU is idle and the 484-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 996-tone RU. When all 20 MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located and all 20 MHz subchannels in which the 484-tone RU is located are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) directly copies the value of the corresponding bit of the U-SIG Disregard And Validate subfield of the trigger frame, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on all assigned resource units (i.e., the second resource units). That is, when both the 996-tone RU and the 484-tone RU are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) copies the value of the corresponding bit in the U-SIG ignore and verify subfields, instructing the station to transmit an EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 996+484-tone MRU.If at least one 20 MHz subchannel within the 20 MHz subchannel in which the 996-tone RU is located is idle, the station will not transmit and the value of the RU transmission indication field (bitmap) will be 0000, regardless of whether the 484-tone RU is idle or busy.
[0141] Example 2: Using an example where the first resource unit assigned to a station is a 996+484+242-tone MRU, the 996-tone RU of the 996+484+242-tone MRU is placed in the first 80 MHz bandwidth, the 484-tone RU is placed in the first 40 MHz bandwidth of the second 80 MHz bandwidth, and the 242-tone RU is placed in the fourth 20 MHz bandwidth of the second 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, in the 996+484+242-tone MRU, the 996-tone RU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field, and the 484-tone RU and the 242-tone RU correspond to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field. Setting a bit (or bitmap) in the RU transmission indication field to 0 indicates that the station will not transmit in the 996-tone resource unit (or 80 MHz bandwidth) corresponding to that bit. Setting a bit to 1 indicates that the station will perform a transmission in the 996-tone resource unit (or 80 MHz bandwidth) corresponding to that bit. See Table 5, where 1 indicates a transmission and 0 indicates no transmission. Four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission has occurred in the same way; that is, four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) use a 1 to indicate that a transmission has occurred. Table 5 shows the busy / idle status of RUs in a 996+484+242-tone MRU, and the values and meanings of the corresponding RU transmission indication fields. [Table 5] [Table 7]
[0142] The meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Table 5 is the same as the meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Table 4a to Table 4c, and will not be described in detail here. As shown in Table 5, when the 996-tone RU is idle and at least one of the 484-tone RU and the 242-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 996-tone RU. When the 996-tone RU, the 484-tone RU, and the 242-tone RU are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) directly copies the value of the corresponding bit in the U-SIG disregard and validation subfield (U-SIG Disregard And Validate) in the trigger frame, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 996+484+242-tone MRU. If the 996-tone RU is busy, the station will not transmit and the value of the RU transmission indication field (bitmap) will be 0000, regardless of whether the 484-tone RU and 242-tone RU are idle or busy.
[0143] Example 3: Using an example where the first resource unit assigned to a station is 2×996-tone RU. In the 2×996-tone RU, one 996-tone RU is located in a first 80 MHz bandwidth and the other 996-tone RU is located in a second 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, in the 2×996-tone RU, one 996-tone RU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field, and the other 996-tone RU corresponds to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field. See Table 6. In Table 6, 1 indicates that transmission will be performed, and 0 indicates that no transmission will be performed. Four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission has occurred in the same way, i.e., four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission has occurred using a 1. Table 6 shows the RU busy / idle status in a 2 x 996-tone RU, and the corresponding values and meanings of the RU transmission indication field. [Table 6] [Table 8]
[0144] The meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Table 6 is the same as the meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Table 4a to Table 4c, and will not be described in detail here. As shown in FIG. 6, when the 1996-tone RU is idle and the 2996-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 1996-tone RU. When both the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) directly copies the values of the corresponding bits of the U-SIG ignore and verify subfields, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2×996-tone RU. If the 1996-tone RU is busy and the 2996-tone RU is idle, the value of the RU transmission indication field (bitmap) is 0100, instructing the station to transmit an EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2996-tone RU. If both the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU are busy, the station does not perform transmission and the value of the RU transmission indication field (bitmap) is 0000.
[0145] It should be understood that the RU busy / idle status of the 3×996-tone MRU and 4×996-tone RU, and the values and meanings of the corresponding RU transmission indication fields are similar to those shown in Table 6. Examples are not listed here.
[0146] Example 4: Take an example where the first resource unit assigned to a station is a 2×996+484-tone MRU. In the 2×996+484-tone MRU, one 996-tone RU is placed in a first 80 MHz bandwidth, the other 996-tone RU is placed in a second 80 MHz bandwidth, and the 484-tone RU is placed in a 40 MHz bandwidth of a third 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, in the 2×996+484-tone MRU, one 996-tone RU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field, the other 996-tone RU corresponds to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field, and the 484-tone RU corresponds to the third bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field. See Table 7, where 1 indicates a transmission and 0 indicates no transmission. Four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) indicate that a transmission has occurred in the same way; that is, four 80 MHz bandwidths (or four 996-tone RUs) use a 1 to indicate that a transmission has occurred. Table 7 shows the busy / idle status of RUs in a 2x996+484-tone MRU, and the values and meanings of the corresponding RU transmission indication fields. [Table 7] [Table 9]
[0147] The meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Table 7 is the same as the meaning of "busy" and "idle" in Tables 4a to 4c, and will not be described in detail here. As shown in Fig. 7, when the 1996-tone RU is idle, the 2996-tone RU is busy, and the 484-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 1996-tone RU. When the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU are idle, and the 484-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1100, which instructs the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU. If the 1996-tone RU is idle, the 2996-tone RU is busy, and the 484-tone RU is idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 1000, instructing the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 1996-tone RU. If the 1996-tone RU, the 2996-tone RU, and the 484-tone RU are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) directly copies the values of the corresponding bits of the U-SIG ignore and verify subfields, instructing the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2×996+484-tone RU. If the 1996-tone RU is busy, the 2996-tone RU is idle, and the 484-tone RU is busy, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 0100, instructing the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2996-tone RU. If the 1996-tone RU is busy, and the 2996-tone RU and the 484-tone RU are idle, the value of the RU transmission instruction field (bitmap) is 0100, instructing the station to transmit the EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2996-tone RU.If the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU are busy, the station will not transmit, regardless of whether the 484-tone RU is idle or busy or idle, and the value of the RU transmission indication field (bitmap) will be 0000.
[0148] It should be understood that the busy / idle status of RUs in the 3×996+484-tone MRU and the 2×996+484-tone MRU, and the values and meanings of the corresponding RU transmission indication fields are similar to those shown in Table 7. Examples are not listed here.
[0149] In the above example, the bitmap (or RU transmission indication field) is described using an example in which the length of the bitmap is 4 bits. Of course, in order to save bits, the first indication information may be represented by a bitmap with a smaller number of bits. For example, a bitmap with a length of 2 bits is used, and one bit indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in the 160 MHz bandwidth. Similarly, the first indication information may also be represented by a bitmap with a larger number of bits. For example, a bitmap with a length of 16 bits is used, and one bit indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in the 20 MHz bandwidth.
[0150] Optionally, the U-SIG is copied and transmitted in each 20 MHz subchannel, and the station transmits the same U-SIG in the same 80 MHz bandwidth. If the second resource unit includes multiple RUs, and the multiple RUs belong to different 80 MHz bandwidths, the station transmits the same U-SIG in the different 80 MHz bandwidths in which the second resource unit is located. For example, in Table 7, the row in which "idle, idle, busy" is located (bitmap is 1100) is used as an example. That is, the first resource unit is 2×996+484-tone MRU, and the second resource unit includes the 1996th-tone RU and the 2996th-tone RU. In this case, the U-SIG transmitted in the first 80 MHz bandwidth in which the 1996th-tone RU is located is the same as the U-SIG transmitted in the second 80 MHz bandwidth in which the 2996th-tone RU is located.
[0151] In implementation 1.1, transmission can be performed on several subchannels, and furthermore, U-SIGs transmitted by the same station on different 80 MHz bandwidths can be guaranteed to be consistent. This not only facilitates reception at the receiver side, but also reduces the complexity of preamble preparation by the station. Also, a bitmap can be used to clearly indicate whether transmission is performed on each 80 MHz bandwidth (or each 996-tone resource unit).
[0152] Implementation 1.2: The second indication information is represented by a bitmap, and the bitmap includes two parts, a first bit and a second bit. One bit in the bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit (or one 80 MHz bandwidth). One bit in the second bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 242-tone resource unit (or one 20 MHz bandwidth in the 80 MHz bandwidth) in the 996-tone resource unit. Alternatively, one bit in the second bitmap indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in one 242-tone resource unit (one 20 MHz bandwidth in the 80 MHz bandwidth in which the transmission is performed) in the 996-tone resource unit. It should be understood that the bits in the second bitmap can alternatively be divided using a granularity of 40 MHz. In other words, one bit in the second bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in one 484-tone resource unit in one 996-tone resource unit (or one 40 MHz bandwidth in one 80 MHz bandwidth).
[0153] The length of the first bit may be a fixed length, for example, 4 bits. The length of the second bit may be related to the length or indication of the first bit. For example, the length of the second bit may be equal to the unused / reserved bits of the U-SIG minus the length of the first bit, or the length of the second bit is obtained by multiplying the amount of 80 MHz bandwidth on which the transmission is performed, indicated by the first bit, by 4. That is, the length of the bitmap may be represented as 4+4×x bits (it should be understood that in this specification, “×” indicates multiplication), and one bit among the first 4 bits (i.e., the first bit) indicates whether the station transmits in one 996-tone resource unit (or one 80 MHz bandwidth). Here, the transmission includes two cases: partial transmission and full transmission. x may be a fixed value, for example, 4. Alternatively, x may be equal to the amount of 996-tone RUs (or 80 MHz bandwidth on which the transmission is performed) on which the transmission is performed, indicated by the first 4 bits, and the 996-tone RUs are fully allocated to the station. Every four bits in the last 4×x bits (i.e., the second bits) indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in each 242-tone resource unit of the 996-tone resource unit (or each 20 MHz bandwidth of one 80 MHz bandwidth).
[0154] For example, the first resource unit allocated to the station is a 996+484-tone MRU. In the 996+484-tone MRU, it is assumed that the 996-tone RU is located in a first 80 MHz bandwidth, and the 484-tone RU is located in a second 40 MHz bandwidth of the second 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, in the 996+484-tone MRU, the 996-tone RU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field, and the 484-tone RU corresponds to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field. If all 20 MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located are idle, x may be 1. That is, the length of the second bit is 4 (i.e., 4×1) bits. In this case, each bit of the second bit can be set to 1 to indicate that the EHT TB PPDU is transmitted in each 242-tone RU in the 996-tone RU. Alternatively, x may be a fixed value, and the last 4×x bits (i.e., the second bit) may be a specified default value (e.g., the four bits corresponding to the 1996-tone RU are all 1s or all 0s) to indicate that the station transmits on the 996-tone RU. In a 996+484-tone MRU, if the first 20 MHz subchannel in which the 996-tone RU is located is busy and all other 20 MHz subchannels (i.e., the second through fourth 20 MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located and the two 20 MHz subchannels in which the 484-tone RU is located) are idle, then the first four bits (i.e., the first bit) are 1100, indicating that the station transmits on the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU (or the 80 MHz bandwidth). The last 4 bits (x value is 1) are 0111, indicating that the station will not transmit in the 1242-tone RU of the 996-tone RU, but will transmit in the remaining three 242-tone RUs.
[0155] For example, the first resource unit assigned to the station is a 996+484-tone MRU. In the 996+484-tone MRU, it is assumed that the 996-tone RU is located in a first 80 MHz bandwidth and the 484-tone RU is located in a second 40 MHz bandwidth of the second 80 MHz bandwidth. That is, in the 996+484-tone MRU, the 996-tone RU corresponds to the first bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field and the 484-tone RU corresponds to the second bit of the bitmap / RU transmission indication field. In a 996+484-tone MRU, if the first and second 20 MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located are busy and all other 20 MHz subchannels (i.e., the third and fourth 20 MHz subchannels in which the 996-tone RU is located and the two 20 MHz subchannels in which the 484-tone RU is located) are idle, the first 4 bits (i.e., the first bit) are 1100, indicating that the station transmits in the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU (or 80 MHz bandwidth). The last 4 bits (x value is 1) are 0011, indicating that the station does not transmit in the 1242-tone RU and the 2242-tone RU of the 996-tone RU, but transmits in the remaining two 242-tone RUs.
[0156] Optionally, implementation 1.2 may be used in combination with implementation 1.1. In a possible design, if some 20 MHz subchannels in which 996-tone RUs of the first resource unit assigned to the station are located are busy, the second bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in each 242-tone RU (or 20 MHz bandwidth) of the 996-tone RU (or 80 MHz bandwidth) in which the transmission is performed. In other words, the station is permitted / supported to transmit an EHT TB PPDU in some subchannels of the complete 996-tone RU assigned to it. For example, the first resource unit assigned to the station is a 996+484-tone MRU. If some 20 MHz subchannels in which 996-tone RUs of the 996+484-tone MRU are located are busy (e.g., the fourth row of Table 3a), the other 20 MHz subchannels are idle and all 20 MHz subchannels in which 484-tone RUs are located are busy. The first 4 bits of the bitmap (or RU transmission indication field) are set to 1000, and multiple bits are added to the bitmap (or RU transmission indication field) to indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU on each 242-tone RU (or 20 MHz bandwidth) of the 996-tone RU (or 80 MHz bandwidth).
[0157] In embodiment 1.2, it can be seen that in order to use spectrum resources more efficiently, it is possible to subdivide whether transmission is performed in each 20 MHz bandwidth of the 80 MHz bandwidth in which transmission is performed.
[0158] Implementation 1.3: The second indication information can alternatively be represented by a variable-length bitmap, where the length of the bitmap is equal to the amount of 996-tone resource units (or 80 MHz bandwidth) of the first resource unit allocated to the station. One bit in the bitmap indicates whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in one 996-tone resource unit (or one 80 MHz bandwidth) in the first resource unit. If the first resource unit includes at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU, the station cannot use the at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU for transmission alone, and the at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU must perform transmission together with all other 996-tone resource units in the first resource unit.
[0159] For example, the first resource unit assigned to the station is a 996+484-tone MRU. In the 996+484-tone MRU, it is assumed that the 996-tone RU is located in a first 80 MHz bandwidth and the 484-tone RU is located in a second 80 MHz bandwidth. The length of the bitmap may be 1 bit, and the bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 996-tone RU. Optionally, the length of the bitmap may alternatively be 2 bits. The first bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 1996-tone RU, and the second bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 484-tone RU of the 2996-tone RU.
[0160] For example, the first resource unit assigned to the station is 996+484+242-tone MRU. In the 996+484+242-tone MRU, it is assumed that the 996-tone RU is located in a first 80 MHz bandwidth, and the 484-tone RU and the 242-tone RU are located in a second 80 MHz bandwidth. The length of the bitmap may be 1 bit, and the bit may indicate whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 996-tone RU. Optionally, the length of the bitmap may alternatively be 2 bits. The first bit indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 1996-tone RU, and the second bit indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 484-tone RU and 242-tone RU of the 2996-tone RU.
[0161] For example, the first resource unit allocated to the station is 2×996+484-tone MRU. In the 2×996+484-tone MRU, it is assumed that the 1996-tone RU is located in the first 80 MHz bandwidth, the 2996-tone RU is located in the second 80 MHz bandwidth, and the 484-tone RU is located in the third 80 MHz bandwidth. The length of the bitmap is 2 bits. The first bit indicates whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in the allocated 1996-tone RU, and the second bit indicates whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU in the allocated 2996-tone RU. Optionally, the length of the bitmap may alternatively be 3 bits. The first bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 1996-tone RU, the second bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 2996-tone RU, and the third bit may indicate whether the station transmits an EHT TB PPDU on the assigned 3996-tone RU or 484-tone RU.
[0162] In implementation 1.3, it can be seen that the amount of bits can be flexibly set in order to reduce the bit overhead to some extent.
[0163] It should be understood that any combination of Implementation 1.1, Implementation 1.2, and Implementation 1.3 can form a new implementation, and parts relating to the same or similar concepts or solutions can be cross-referenced or combined. For example, Implementation 1.2 can be used in combination with Implementation 1.3.
[0164] Implementation 2: The second indication information indicates the second resource unit occupied by the EHT TB PPDU.
[0165] Optionally, the second resource unit is a resource unit in the first resource unit allocated to the station that is actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU (or the second resource unit is a resource unit that is actually used for transmitting the EHT TB PPDU in the first resource unit), and the resource unit that is actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU may be a part or all of the first resource unit. The second resource unit may include at least one resource unit with a size greater than or equal to 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth equal to or greater than 80 MHz). Alternatively, the second resource unit may include at least one resource unit with a size greater than or equal to 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth equal to or greater than 80 MHz) and at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth less than 80 MHz).
[0166] Optionally, if the second resource unit includes at least one resource unit whose size is larger than or equal to the 996-tone RU (or a resource unit whose bandwidth is 80 MHz or more) and at least one resource unit whose size is smaller than the 996-tone RU (or a resource unit whose bandwidth is less than 80 MHz), the station transmits the same U-SIG in the different 80 MHz bandwidth in which the second resource unit is located. For example, in Table 7, the row in which "idle, idle, busy" is located (bitmap is 1100) is used as an example. That is, the first resource unit is 2×996+484-tone MRU, and the second resource unit includes the 1996-tone RU and the 2996-tone RU. In this case, the U-SIG transmitted in the first 80 MHz bandwidth in which the 1996-tone RU is located is the same as the U-SIG transmitted in the second 80 MHz bandwidth in which the 2996-tone RU is located.
[0167] Optionally, if the second resource unit includes at least one resource unit with a size larger than or equal to 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth of 80 MHz or more) and at least one resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz), the resource unit with a size smaller than 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth of 80 MHz or less) and the resource unit with a size larger than or equal to 996-tone RU (or a resource unit with a bandwidth of 80 MHz or more) among the second resource units transmit EHT TB PPDU together. That is, in this embodiment of the present application, only when all subchannels of 20 MHz in which all 996-tone RUs (i.e., resource units with a bandwidth equal to 80 MHz) of the first resource unit allocated to the station are located are idle, other resource units with a tone amount less than 996 of the first resource unit (i.e., resource units with a bandwidth less than 80 MHz) can transmit EHT TB PPDU together with 996-tone RU. That is, in the case of a single station, in this embodiment of the present application, the single station transmits in the entire 80MHz resource unit or does not transmit in the entire 80MHz resource unit. If resource units with a bandwidth less than 80MHz are allowed to transmit independently, the U-SIG may be inconsistent in the 80MHz bandwidth. As a result, the reception complexity of the receiving side increases. For example, if the resource unit allocated by the AP to STA1 is 996+484-tone MRU, the resource unit allocated to STA2 is also 996+484-tone MRU, and the two 484-tone RUs belong to the same 996-tone RU or the same 80MHz bandwidth. If STA1 detects that the assigned 996-tone RU is busy and the assigned 484-tone RU is idle, and STA2 detects that both the assigned 996-tone RU and the assigned 484-tone RU are idle, STA1 changes the value of U-SIG and STA2 does not change the value of U-SIG (i.e., STA2 directly copies the content in the U-SIG ignore and verify subfields in the trigger frame). Thus, in the AP, the U-SIGs of one 80 MHz to which two 484-tone RUs belong are different, which increases the AP's reception complexity.
[0168] Resource units smaller than 996-tone RU in size (or resource units with a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz) include one or more of the following: resource units with 484 carriers, i.e., 484-tone RU; resource units with 242 carriers, i.e., 242-tone RU; and resource units with less than 242 carriers. Resource units with 242 carriers include, but are not limited to, the following types: resource units with 106 carriers, i.e., 106-tone RU; resource units with 52 carriers, i.e., 52-tone RU; and resource units with 26 carriers, i.e., 26-tone RU. Note that resource units with a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz may include a single resource unit with less than 996 tones, and may also be a combination of multiple resource units with less than 996 tones. That is, the resource units with a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz may be a combination of at least two of 484-tone RU, 242-tone RU, 106-tone RU, 52-tone RU, and 26-tone RU, as long as the equivalent bandwidth of the combined resource units is less than 80 MHz. For example, the equivalent bandwidth of the combination of 242-tone RU and 106-tone RU is less than 80 MHz.
[0169] Specifically, the second indication information (or the RU transmission indication field) may be an index value. The index value identifies a resource unit or a combination of multiple resource units, or the index value identifies a second resource unit. That is, in implementation 2, the index value indicates the second resource unit actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU, or the second resource unit actually used to transmit the EHT TB PPDU. The second resource unit is a part or all of the first resource unit assigned to the station. Whether the second resource unit is a part or all of the first resource unit assigned to the station needs to be specifically determined based on the result of the clear channel evaluation of the station. It is obvious that the bandwidth of the second resource unit is equal to or less than the bandwidth of the first resource unit.
[0170] Table 8 shows the maximum amount of indexes required for each type of MRU / RU that contains at least one 996-tone RU. As shown in Table 8, each possible MRU / RU for actual transmission is represented by a unique index. For example, the second resource unit is 996+484-tone MRU. As shown in FIG. 4, there are four combination methods of one 996-tone RU and one 484-tone RU (i.e., the number of possible MRU / RU combinations is 4). As shown in Table 3a, there are three cases for each combination method of 996-tone RU and 484-tone RU. Thus, the maximum number of possible MRU / RU (or the maximum number of required indexes) for actual transmission is 4×3=12. Similarly, for example, the second resource unit is 2×996-tone RU. As shown in FIG. 9, there are two combination methods of two 996-tone RU (i.e., the number of possible MRU / RU combinations is 2). Each combination method has four cases as shown in Table 5. Therefore, the maximum number of possible MRU / RUs (or the maximum number of required indexes) for actual transmission is 2×4=8. [Table 8] [Table 10]
[0171] In implementation 2, transmission can be performed on several subchannels, and U-SIGs transmitted by the same station on different 80MHz bandwidths can be guaranteed to be consistent. This not only makes reception easier on the receiver side, but also allows the station to determine which MRU / RU to use for actual transmission based on the index, without having to analyze the meaning of each bit individually.
[0172] Optionally, in Implementation 1.1, Implementation 1.2, and Implementation 2, in order to further improve spectrum utilization, the station may further transmit the EHT TB PPDU in a combination of possible idle RUs and idle RUs in the first resource unit assigned to the station. For example, the first resource unit assigned to the station is 3×996+484-tone MRU. Assume that the combination method of the first resource unit is shown as 3×996+484-tone MRU8 in FIG. 8. If both the 1996th-tone RU and the 484th-tone RU are busy and the 2996th-tone RU and the 3996th-tone RU are idle, the station is allowed to transmit the EHT TB PPDU in the assigned 2996th-tone RU and the 3996th-tone RU.
[0173] Optionally, in embodiment 1.1, embodiment 1.2 and embodiment 2, in order to further reduce the possibility of transmission supported by the AP and STA, the station can be further restricted to perform transmission only if the combination of the idle RU and the idle RU of the first resource unit allocated to the station is a RU / MRU supported by the standard. In implementation 2, this constraint can reduce the possible amount of MRU / RU for actual transmission in Table 8 and reduce the amount of required indexes. For example, the first resource unit allocated to the station is 3×996+484-tone MRU. Assume that the combination method of the first resource unit is shown as 3×996+484-tone MRU8 in FIG. 8. If both the 1996th and 484th tone RUs are busy, the station cannot transmit EHT TB PPDU in the allocated 2996th and 3996th tone RUs even if the 2996th and 3996th tone RUs are idle.
[0174] It should be understood that an idle RU in this embodiment of the present application means that all 20 MHz subchannels in which the RU is located are idle.
[0175] In this embodiment of the present application, the trigger frame indicates that the station is allowed to use the adaptive RU for transmission, and the U-SIG indicates the RU that is actually occupied by the EHT TB PPDU, or indicates whether the station transmits the EHT TB PPDU for each 80 MHz bandwidth. Thus, when a part of the MRU / RU assigned to the station is idle and another part of the MRU / RU is busy, the STA is supported to transmit the EHT TB PPDU using a part or all of the assigned RU / MRU. That is, when some subchannels of the RU / MRU assigned to the STA are busy, the STA can also transmit the EHT TB PPDU to improve the reliability of the AP acquiring the resource unit that is actually used by the STA to transmit the EHT TB PPDU, and improve the spectrum utilization rate. This helps the AP to analyze the data of the EHT TB PPDU in the RU where the EHT TB PPDU is actually transmitted, reducing the reception complexity of the receiving side (AP) and improving the analysis efficiency of the receiving side (AP). Furthermore, this embodiment of the present application can further ensure the consistency of U-SIGs transmitted by the same station in different 80 MHz bandwidths, which not only makes it easier for the receiving side to receive, but also reduces the complexity of the station's preparation of preambles.
[0176] The above has described in detail the method provided in the present application. In order to realize the implementation of the above solution in the embodiments of the present application, the embodiments of the present application further provide a corresponding device or apparatus.
[0177] In the embodiment of the present application, the access point and the station may be divided into functional modules based on the above-mentioned method examples.
