Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition which gives a gentle warming sensation in the oral cavity immediately after use and has a good feel when used. [Background technology]
[0002] In oral compositions, particularly dentifrice compositions, it is effective to impart a moderate warming sensation as a feeling of use in the oral cavity to increase added value from the viewpoint of improving the feeling of effectiveness of tooth brushing and further making it a habit. Various warming stimulants are used as a means of imparting a warming effect, but for example, warming stimulants such as chili pepper and ginger can cause unpleasant irritation depending on the composition, and if the amount used is reduced, it becomes impossible to impart a sufficient warming sensation, making it difficult to satisfactorily impart a gentle warming sensation with low irritation.
[0003] As a dentifrice composition that provides a warming sensation, Patent Document 1 (JP 2018-145163 A) proposes that when a dentifrice composition containing a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt and an anionic surfactant selected from alkyl sulfates and α-olefin sulfonates is combined with a betaine surfactant, glycerin, and water, the astringency derived from the metal is suppressed, a warming sensation (a warming sensation felt on the gums when brushing) is obtained, and the foam disperses quickly and there is no discomfort (dryness) in the oral cavity, so long as the glycerin content is 50% by mass or more and the mass ratio of glycerin to water is within a specific range. Patent Document 1 (JP 2018-145163 A) proposes that, as an example, a dentifrice composition containing a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt such as aluminum lactate, sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerin, coconut oil fatty acid amidopropyl betaine, and water at 3.3% by mass or more is combined, but there is still room for improvement in terms of providing a warming sensation.
[0004] Incidentally, not only typical aqueous dentifrice compositions containing water are used for oral care, but also non-aqueous dentifrice compositions that do not contain water as a liquid medium. However, non-aqueous dentifrice compositions have problems in that they are poorly dispersible in the oral cavity and it is difficult for their effective effects or feeling of efficacy to quickly manifest.
[0005] Patent Documents 2 to 4 (JP 2006-282550 A, JP 2006-182707 A, JP 2006-8530 A) propose that a non-aqueous dentifrice composition containing a specific polyhydric alcohol as a tooth whitening ingredient is applied to the teeth with an application tool and then brushed, resulting in an excellent tooth whitening effect and good dispersibility in the oral cavity. Patent Document 5 (JP 2014-521707 A) proposes a non-aqueous dentifrice composition containing a specific surfactant system and having good mouthfeel and foam dispersion, while Patent Documents 6 to 9 (JP 3640967 A, JP 2002-302429 A, JP 2002-255772 A, and WO 2018 / 069054 A) propose improving stability of non-aqueous oral compositions by using carboxyvinyl polymers and specific polyvinylpyrrolidone, improving taste by baking soda, and improving stability by activators and alkali metal phosphates. However, Patent Documents 2 to 9 do not mention the sensation of warmth. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0007] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and has an object to provide a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition which gives a gentle warming sensation in the oral cavity immediately after use without using a warming stimulant, reduces the feeling of degreasing in the oral cavity, and has a good usability. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] As a result of intensive research by the inventors in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, they discovered that when a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition having a water content of 2 mass% or less is combined with (A) an α-olefin sulfonate and one or more selected from (B) a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and (C) a nonionic surfactant, the sensation of warmth in the oral cavity occurs quickly, a gentle sensation of warmth can be imparted from the start of use, the feeling of degreasing in the oral cavity after use is reduced and improved, and a good sensation of use can be maintained, which led to the creation of the present invention.
[0009] More specifically, in dentifrice compositions in which the main component of the liquid medium is a polyhydric alcohol, the lower the water content, the more heat of hydration is generated when the composition comes into contact with water during brushing, and it was thought that this heat of hydration would give a sense of warmth in the oral cavity. However, as the water content decreases, the dispersibility and foaming in the oral cavity deteriorates, and the feeling of effectiveness cannot be quickly imparted. In contrast, in the present invention, in a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition having a substantially non-aqueous composition with a water content of 2% by mass or less, by combining the (A) component with the (B) and / or (C) component, the specific surfactant system can impart a mild warming sensation (a sensation in which the oral mucosa has a mild warmth different from a warming sensation) with good onset. In this case, when an anionic surfactant, particularly an alkyl sulfate such as sodium lauryl sulfate, is added to the non-aqueous composition to improve dispersibility and foaming in the oral cavity, the degreasing sensation in the oral cavity after use (an unpleasant sensation due to the removal of oil from the tongue and oral mucosa) is aggravated, making the composition unsuitable for use. However, by using the (A) component as an anionic surfactant and combining the (A) component with the (B) and / or (C) component, the degreasing sensation in the oral mucosa is suppressed without aggravation as described above, and a mild warming sensation can be satisfactorily imparted immediately after the start of use while maintaining a pleasant taste. Furthermore, when the cooling agent (D) was added, in addition to the above-mentioned gentle warming sensation, a noticeable cooling sensation could be imparted after use. The effect of the present invention is specific to the above-mentioned specific surfactant system, and as shown in the comparative example below, when the component (A) is absent or when the components (B) and (C) are absent, the onset of warming sensation at the beginning of use or the lack of degreasing sensation in the oral cavity after use is inferior, and when an inappropriate surfactant is combined, the effect is inferior. On the other hand, as shown in the example below, the polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition of the present invention containing the component (A) and the components (B and / or (C) and having a water content below a specific value is excellent in both the lack of degreasing sensation in the oral cavity after use and the onset of warming sensation at the beginning of use.
[0010] Accordingly, the present invention provides the following polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice compositions. [1] (A) an α-olefin sulfonate; (B) one or more surfactants selected from a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and (C) a nonionic surfactant; A polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition comprising the above and having a water content of 2% by mass or less. [8] The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition according to [7], wherein the polyhydric alcohol is glycerin or a combination of glycerin and polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 190 to 630. [9] The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition according to any one of [1] to [8], further comprising 0.0001 to 0.3 mass % of a cooling agent (D).
[10] The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition according to any one of [1] to [9], which is a toothpaste or gel dentifrice. Effect of the Invention
[0011] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition which gives a gentle warming sensation immediately after use in the oral cavity, reduces the feeling of degreasing in the oral cavity, and has a pleasant taste when used. The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition of the present invention does not require the addition of stimulating warming ingredients such as chili pepper and ginger, which are relatively irritating, as a warming agent, and can give a gentle warming sensation with low irritation, and by further adding a cooling agent (D), it is also possible to give a unique usage sensation in which a gentle warming sensation arises at the start of use and gradually a cooling sensation is felt. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0012] The present invention will now be described in further detail. The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition of the present invention contains (A) an α-olefin sulfonate, and one or more surfactants selected from (B) a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and (C) a nonionic surfactant, and has a water content of 2% by mass or less. In the present invention, the term "degreased feeling" refers to the unpleasant feeling that the oil on the tongue or oral mucosa has been removed, and the term "warm sensation" refers to the feeling that the oral mucosa is warm.
[0013] In the present invention, a "polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition" is a dentifrice composition that contains a polyhydric alcohol as the main component of the liquid medium that serves as the base. Note that a typical dentifrice composition in which the main component of the liquid medium is water is "aqueous-based." The polyhydric alcohol may be a polyhydric alcohol that is liquid at 25°C and generates heat of hydration when it comes into contact with water. Specific examples include glycerin, polyethylene glycols having an average molecular weight of 190 to 630 (average molecular weights listed in the Quasi-Drug Raw Materials Standards 2006, the same applies below), propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, butylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, etc. Among these, glycerin, polyethylene glycols having an average molecular weight of 190 to 630, and butylene glycol are preferred from the viewpoints of the onset of warm sensation and improvement of degreasing sensation in the oral cavity. As the polyethylene glycol having the specific average molecular weight, for example, polyethylene glycol 200 (average molecular weight of 190 to 210), polyethylene glycol 400 (average molecular weight of 380 to 420), and polyethylene glycol 600 (average molecular weight of 570 to 630) can be used. Polyhydric alcohols themselves have a bitter taste, but glycerin is a polyhydric alcohol with a relatively low bitter taste. Therefore, from the viewpoint of reducing the bitterness derived from the liquid medium, it is preferable that the liquid medium contains at least glycerin, and the content of glycerin is 20 to 100% (mass%, the same applies below) of the entire polyhydric alcohol, particularly 50 to 85%, and further preferably 50 to 80%. Among polyhydric alcohols, the polyethylene glycol having the specific average molecular weight contributes relatively strongly to the warming sensation. Therefore, from the viewpoint of the strength of the warming sensation, it is preferable to contain at least the polyethylene glycol, and the content of the polyethylene glycol is more preferably 10% or more, particularly 15 to 30% of the entire composition. If it exceeds 30%, the bitterness derived from the polyethylene glycol may affect the feeling of use, but if it is 30% or less, a pleasant feeling of use can be maintained. In the present invention, it is particularly preferred in terms of the manifestation of the effects of the present invention that the polyhydric alcohol is a combination of glycerin and polyethylene glycol and / or butylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 190 to 630, particularly a combination of glycerin and polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 190 to 630, and further that the content of glycerin is 50% or more, particularly 50 to 85%, of the total polyhydric alcohol.
[0014] The higher the amount of polyhydric alcohol blended, the greater the warming sensation; however, from the viewpoint of the onset of the warming sensation and improvement of the degreasing sensation in the oral cavity, the amount of polyhydric alcohol blended is preferably 13 to 95% of the total composition, more preferably 20 to 90%, particularly preferably 25 to 85%, even more preferably 30 to 80%, and may be 50 to 80%.
[0015] Furthermore, in the polyhydric alcohol dentifrice composition of the present invention, the water content in the composition is 2% or less, may be less than 2%, preferably 1% or less, particularly 0.5% or less, from the viewpoint of realizing a warm sensation. The lower the water content, the more preferable it is, and water may not be added or may be added at 0%. This polyhydric alcohol dentifrice composition is preferably a non-aqueous composition that does not contain water, but even if water is not added to the composition, for example, if water is contained in the raw materials of other blended components, this water will be brought in, and water may also be brought in due to pH adjustment or moisture absorption of raw materials, etc., so the allowable upper limit of water is specified as above, taking these water contents into consideration. Therefore, the "substantially non-aqueous composition" described here is one in which the water content in the composition is the above value or less. In the present invention, by using a substantially non-aqueous base mainly composed of polyhydric alcohol as described above, this substantially non-aqueous polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition generates heat of hydration when it comes into contact with water during use in the oral cavity, thereby imparting a gentle warming sensation to the oral cavity, and further, the above-mentioned warming sensation can be imparted even without the incorporation of a stimulating warming ingredient such as chili pepper.
[0016] (A) α-olefin sulfonate has the effect of improving the onset of warmth sensation. As the α-olefin sulfonate, an alkali metal salt such as sodium or potassium of α-olefin sulfonic acid having 14 to 16 carbon atoms can be used, and preferably an α-olefin sulfonate having 14 carbon atoms, particularly a sodium salt (generic name: sodium tetradecene sulfonate). These are commercially available products that can be used in oral preparations, and for example, the product name "K Lipolan PJ-400CJ" manufactured by Lion Specialty Chemicals Co., Ltd. can be used.
[0017] The amount of (A) α-olefin sulfonate is preferably 0.1 to 3% of the total composition, more preferably 0.5 to 2%. When the amount is 0.1% or more, the dispersibility of the preparation in the oral cavity during use is improved, and the onset of warming sensation is sufficiently obtained. When the amount is 3% or less, the degreasing feeling in the oral cavity after use is sufficiently reduced.
[0018] In addition, (B) the betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and (C) the nonionic surfactant each act to reduce and improve the degreasing sensation in the oral cavity caused by component (A), and in particular, component (B) also acts to speed up the onset of the warming sensation caused by component (A). In the present invention, it is sufficient that either the (B) or (C) component is blended; however, from the viewpoint of the onset of the warming sensation, it is preferable to blend the (B) component. In particular, blending the (B) and (C) components is more preferable from the viewpoint of improving the degreasing sensation in the oral cavity and the onset of the warming sensation.
[0019] (B) The betaine-type amphoteric surfactant preferably has an alkyl group having 10 to 16 carbon atoms, and fatty acid amidopropyl betaine having the above alkyl group, alkylacetic acid betaine having the above alkyl group, or alkylimidazolinium betaine having the above alkyl group can be used. Specifically, fatty acid amidopropyl betaines include coconut oil fatty acid amidopropyl betaine, alkyl acetate betaines include lauryl dimethylamino acetate betaine, and alkyl imidazolinium betaines include alkyl carboxymethyl hydroxyethyl imidazolinium betaine. Among these, fatty acid amidopropyl betaines, alkyl acetate betaines, and especially fatty acid amidopropyl betaine, coconut oil fatty acid amidopropyl betaine, are preferred. In the present invention, the water content in the dentifrice composition is specified to be 2% or less, so it is preferred to use a betaine type surfactant in a solution or powder with a pure content (pure betaine content) of 65% or more. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Commercially available products may also be used.
[0020] Examples of the (C) nonionic surfactant include polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, alkyl glucoside, fatty acid polyglyceryl, polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene (EOPO) copolymer, etc. Furthermore, the polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil preferably has an average added mole number of ethylene oxide of 5 to 100, particularly 5 to 60. The polyoxyethylene alkyl ether preferably has an average added mole number of ethylene oxide of 5 to 30, and an alkyl group having 12 to 18 carbon atoms. Specifically, examples thereof include polyoxyethylene lauryl ether and polyoxyethylene stearyl ether, the average added mole number of ethylene oxide being within the above range. The polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene (EOPO) copolymer preferably has an average added mole number of ethylene oxide of 20 to 210, and an average added mole number of propylene oxide of 15 to 60, and may be a block copolymer or a random copolymer. Among these, polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether are preferred, and polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average added mole number of ethylene oxide of 5 to 60 is particularly preferred. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Commercially available products may also be used.
[0021] When the (B) component is blended, the blending amount is preferably 0.1 to 3% of the total composition, more preferably 0.3 to 2%. When the blending amount is 0.1% or more, the degreasing feeling in the oral cavity is sufficiently improved and the onset of the warming sensation is improved. When the blending amount is 3% or less, the bitterness caused by the component itself is suppressed and the pleasant taste can be sufficiently maintained.
[0022] When component (C) is added, the amount of the component is preferably 0.05 to 2% of the total composition, more preferably 0.5 to 1%. When the amount is 0.05% or more, the degreasing feeling in the oral cavity is sufficiently improved. When the amount is 2% or less, the bitterness caused by the component itself is suppressed, and a pleasant taste can be sufficiently maintained. When components (B) and (C) are used in combination, each may be blended within the above range.
[0023] In the present invention, in addition to the component (A) and the components (B) and / or (C), surfactants other than these can also be blended within a range that does not impair the effects of the present invention. The optional surfactants include anionic surfactants other than the component (A), such as acylamino acid salts, acyltaurine or its salts, and alkyl sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfate. The amount of these optional anionic surfactants is preferably 0 to 0.3% of the total composition in terms of the onset of warming sensation and the lack of a degreasing feeling in the oral cavity. It is preferable not to add alkyl sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfate, particularly in terms of the lack of a degreasing feeling in the oral cavity, and if added, the amount is preferably 0.3% or less of the total composition.
[0024] In the present invention, further blending of (D) a cooling sensation agent can impart a moderately strong and prominent cooling sensation to the oral cavity after use. In this case, blending of (A) component with (B) and / or (C) component with (D) component can impart a unique sensation of use in which a gentle warming sensation arises and is fully felt at the start of use, which gradually changes to a cooling sensation over time, and the cooling sensation becomes prominent after use, giving the user a unique sensation of changing sensation.
[0025] (D) Cooling agents include menthol derivatives, such as menthol derivatives having a carboxamide, alcohol, ester, or ether structure.Specific examples include N-ethyl-p-menthane-3-carboxamide, ethyl-3-(p-menthane-carboxamide) acetate, menthyl lactate, menthyl monosuccinate, isopulegol, menthone glycerol ketal, N-(4-cyanomethylphenyl)-p-menthanecarboxamide, 2-isopropyl-5-methyl-N-(2-(pyridin-4-yl)ethyl)cyclohexanecarboxamide, and 3-l-menthoxypropane-1,2-diol, among which N-ethyl-p-menthane-3-carboxamide and N-(4-cyanomethylphenyl)-p-menthanecarboxamide are preferred from the viewpoint of providing a cooling sensation. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Commercially available products may also be used.
[0026] The blending amount of component (D) is preferably 0.0001 to 0.3% of the total composition, more preferably 0.001 to 0.2%, and even more preferably 0.01 to 0.1%. Within this range, a sufficient cooling sensation can be obtained, and the irritation and bitterness caused by the component itself can be sufficiently suppressed, so that a satisfactory usability can be maintained.
[0027] The polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition of the present invention can be in the form of a paste, gel, etc., and can be prepared in particular as a toothpaste or gel dentifrice. In addition to the above-mentioned components, other known components can be blended as necessary depending on the dosage form, etc., and these can be used within the range that does not impair the effects of the present invention. Here, "warm sensation" refers to the sensation that the oral mucosa has a gentle warmth that is different from thermal stimulation, and "the onset of warm sensation" refers to the speed at which the warm sensation is felt after brushing begins. Scoring criteria 5 points: The warmth sensation starts very quickly. 4 points: The warm sensation starts quickly. 3 points: The warm sensation starts rather quickly 2 points: The warm sensation takes a long time to start 1 point: The warm sensation starts very slowly Evaluation criteria ◎: Average of 4.0 points or more and 5.0 points or less ○: Average 3.0 points or more and less than 4.0 points △: Average 2.5 points or more and less than 3.0 points ×: Average 1.0 or more and less than 2.5 points
[0038] (3) Method for evaluating the lack of bitterness during use Ten test subjects placed 1 g of the dentifrice composition on a toothbrush and brushed their teeth in the usual way, and then evaluated the bitterness felt in the mouth (the unique bitterness derived from the ingredients betaine-type amphoteric surfactant, nonionic surfactant, and cooling agent) on a 5-point scale according to the rating criteria shown below. The average score of the 10 testers was calculated, and the results were evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria, and shown in the table with the following marks: ◎, ○, △, ×. Scoring criteria 5 points: No bitterness felt 4 points: Almost no bitterness 3 points: Slightly bitter, but not noticeable 2 points: Bitter taste 1 point: Strong bitterness Evaluation criteria ◎: Average score 4.0 points or more and 5.0 points or less ○: Average score 3.0 points or more and less than 4.0 points △: Average score 2.0 to less than 3.0 ×: Average score 1.0 or more and less than 2.0 points
[0039] (4) Evaluation method for the cooling sensation in the mouth after use Ten test subjects placed 1 g of the dentifrice composition on a toothbrush, brushed their teeth for 3 minutes in the usual way, and then rinsed with water. The test subjects compared the cool sensation in the mouth with that of a control dentifrice composition and rated it on a 5-point scale according to the following criteria. The control dentifrice composition was a water-based dentifrice composition (toothpaste) with the same composition as each other, except that water was used instead of concentrated glycerin. The average score of the 10 testers was calculated, and the results were evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria, and shown in the table with the following marks: ◎, ○, △, ×. Here, the term "cool sensation" refers to a moderate cool sensation felt after rinsing the mouth. Scoring criteria 5 points: Very cool feeling 4 points: Strong cooling sensation 3 points: A slightly cool sensation 2 points: Equal coolness 1 point: Weak cooling sensation Evaluation criteria ◎: Average of 4.0 points or more and 5.0 points or less ○: Average 2.5 points or more and less than 4.0 points △: Average 2.0 points or more and less than 2.5 points ×: Average 1.0 or more and less than 2.0 points

[0046] As shown in Table 5, when component (A) and (B) and / or (C) were blended in a polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice composition having a water content below a specific value, and further when a cooling agent (D) was blended, the result was that the cooling sensation after brushing was stronger and more prominent than that of a water-based dentifrice composition (control dentifrice composition). Furthermore, with these compositions, a gentle warm sensation was felt at the beginning of brushing, which gradually changed to a cooling sensation, and a unique usage sensation was observed in which the cooling sensation was prominent after use.
[0047] Next, examples of polyhydric alcohol-based dentifrice compositions (toothpastes) are shown. Each dentifrice composition was prepared in the same manner as above using the same raw materials. The numerical values showing the amount of each component are the pure amount.
