Abstract

In the process, external fuel oil is used to flush entrained catalyst from the fluidized-bed propane dehydrogenation reactor effluent, and the fuel oil and catalyst mixture is returned to the reactor to provide the net fuel needed for catalyst regeneration. Optionally, the fluidized-bed propane dehydrogenation reactor effluent and fuel oil are contacted in a direct contact in-line device prior to entering a flash zone within the reactor vessel.
