AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Conventional coil components experience damage at the connection points between flange surfaces and the winding core due to concentrated stress when mounted on a mounting board.
Method used
The configuration of the core and flange portions includes inclined surfaces that separate the boundaries of intersection, dispersing stress and improving strength by preventing concentration at these points.
Benefits of technology
The improved core and coil components exhibit enhanced strength and durability by dispersing stress, reducing the risk of damage during mounting and thermocompression bonding.

Abstract
To provide a core and a coil component having an improved strength.SOLUTION: A core 2 includes: a winding core part 3; a first flange part 4; and a second flange part 5. The winding core part includes: a low surface 31 and a top surface 33 that are positioned opposite each other; and a first side surface 32 and a second side surface 34 that are positioned opposite each other. The first flange part includes: a low surface 41 and a top surface 43 that are positioned opposite each other; a first side surface 42 and a second side surface 44 that are positioned opposite each other so as to cross the low surface and the top surface; an inner side end surface 46 that is connected to a first end part of the winding core part; and an outside end surface 45 that is positioned opposite the winding core part. The inner side end surface of the first flange part includes: a first inclination surface 61 that is positioned between the low surface of the winding core part and the low surface of the first flange part; and a second inclination surface 62 that is positioned between the first side surface of the winding core part and the first side surface of the first flange part. A position of a first boundary L11 where the first inclination surface and the low surface of the winding core part cross each other and a position of a second boundary L12 where the second inclination surface and the first side surface of the winding core part cross each other are positioned to be separated in a shaft direction of the winding core part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
