AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing head-up displays face challenges in reducing manufacturing costs, expanding display range, improving reflector moldability, enhancing mounting structure, and minimizing image distortion due to substrate warping during molding.

Method used

An image generation device with a light source substrate sandwiched between a holder and a heat sink, using engagement portions for fixation, and a reflector that can rotate and features a reflective surface with obtuse angles to reduce distortion, along with a head-up display incorporating these components.

Benefits of technology

The solution reduces manufacturing costs, expands display range, improves reflector moldability, and minimizes image distortion, providing a cost-effective and efficient head-up display system.

Abstract

To provide a reflector which is less affected by external light or reflection light by expanding an image display range and is less deflected in a substrate when formed and a head-up display using the reflector.SOLUTION: An image generation device (24) includes: a light source substrate (110) on which a light source (111) is mounted; an optical member (120) for transmitting emission light from the light source (111); a display device (130) for forming light to generate a predetermined image by light that has passed through the optical member (120); a heat sink (150) for releasing heat generated from the light source substrate (110); and a lens holder (140) for holding the optical member (120). The lens holder (140) has a first engagement part and the heat sink (150) has a second engagement part (152). The first engagement part and the second engagement part (152) are fixed so that the light source substrate (110) is positioned and is fixed in a state of being inserted between the lens holder (140) and the heat sink (150).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
